Instead of taking her into the custody of the Royal Guard, he becomes both her captor and her savior. But over time, Kuno will come to ask herself the hardest question she has ever pondered: Can a changeling feel love?

Vinyl Scatch was a successful pony. Sure, she didn't have mountains of cash or a penthouse apartment, but she lived comfortably. Besides who needs all that stuff when you've got the music?

Trixie, on the other hoof, had lived on the edge of poverty for most of her life, making little money and living in a cart. In a last ditch attempt to make something of herself, she turns to Manehatten, the city where dreams are made.

But neither could have predicted what would come of their unlikely partnership.

Follow Trixie and Vinyl on the uneven road to happiness, as they attempt to explore their unexpected friendship. But will something more emerge?

What do you do when an insane, homicidal maniac with godlike powers descends upon your life with the sole intent of ending it?

What do you do when you were the one responsible for the aforementioned sadist's creation?

It has been almost a year since the events of "Brothers," and Eclipse Tumult has finally adjusted to life in Equestria. Being Discord's weaker brother hasn't done him any favors, but he has finally begun to come out of his shell, even taking on a student of his own and adopting a role with the Princesses who took him in. Life seems to have finally turned around for Eclipse, and it can only get better from here.

At least, that was was they thought until Eris, an ancient evil of his past with Discord, returns to Equestria, bent on destroying the entire civilization for her own amusement, starting at its heart: the Canterlot Royalty.

The fate of Equestria lies in the hooves of the Princesses, Eclipse, and their faithful students as they fight their greatest enemy yet. Can they survive, or will chaos prevail?

This story's update frequency is incredibly sporadic, but I promise, no matter what happens, no matter how long it takes, this story will reach completion. (Update 12/28/22: YES, I PROMISE I'M STILL WORKING ON IT!)

As the centuries pass, cutie marks come and go. Some are common: the healing cross, the basic compass rose, the courier bag. Others are extinct: no more mercenary companies, no more mercenary marks. A few are incredibly scarce, coming along once a generation or less: the mark for luck falls into that category. A number only manifest when the call for them arrives: train tracks didn't appear until it was railroading time. But for the most part, ponies take their mark with its associated talent and magic as a blessing in their lives -- no matter what that mark turns out to be. And they accept it as they accept themselves.

Luna, in her first truly open palace session dealing with the public, is about to meet the exception: Joyous Release, a pony who wants nothing more than to be rid of her mark forever -- and every bit of the talent which comes with it.

But marks are permanent...
