Just had a daydream about Sunset having fire powers. Coincidence? I think not.
Lovely little bit of madness. I do enjoy seeing Sunset
kickburn ass.I absolutely loved the ponifed DBZ story icon as it immediately grabbed my attention and had me grinning like a lunatic. xD
Anyways great story.

Such devastation was not their intention.
And yeah, Sunset's in for a rude wake-up call. At least the time dilation is friendly enough that she can say goodbye if need be. Of course, the new filly seems to have the situation well in hoof, but Sunset does still have to grapple with that "everypony she knew and loved is dead thing." But that's outside the scope of the story. Delightful bit of showing the Jenny-come-lately how it's done.

I hate the cover art. But the story got an honest laugh out of me. Poor Opaline, her fate was already decided when she encountered a character from a point past season 1 of FIM.
This feels really on-brand.

There were several others I considered but unfortunately all the really good ones (like the one in the author's note) were animated and did not cooperate well with FIMFic's cover art system. Which is sad because come on!

Jokes aside, nics fic. Fire is fun to play with, they're beautiful when small and powerful when enlarged. Celestia and Daybreaker would like to sign up for the next round.

hilarious and honestly much more humane way to end opalene then how the show did.
Whilst funny enough, this does raise a question I've long had about this sort of media; why doesn't anybody just shoot their opponent as they're powering up?

11834626 Generally, the sorts of beings who power up like that or have transformation sequences are protected by the power they're mainlining. Attacks will just bounce off their aura, or whatever.
