When the weight of time - both past and future - comes to bear, Twilight writes one, final letter. Seeking closure, she may just find something more.

You’re right, there should be a Bittersweet tag. The longer I read, the more convinced I became that Rainbow wouldn't share in Twillight’s feelings, but I was pleasantly surprised! I loved the bit of absurd humor that came with Rainbow crashing into Twilight’s home in such a hurry :yay:

This is such a lovely read! Thank you for writing these great horse words!:heart:

Why do I do this to myself? Knew I'd be in tears by the end just from the summary.

Phenomenal stuff here. Love the way you wrote Twilight!

Not often I fall for a TwiDash story, but this one was excellent. :rainbowwild:

OH MY GOD, what a legendary story

“What you’re saying,” Twilight started, a mischievous lilt to her voice, “Is that I have you all to myself for the next two weeks, because no one else knows you’re here.”

I'm fairly certain that a good portion of Ponyville noticed her arrival...

Remember how for your last story I said I was glad it didn't end with a kiss? Because I'm really glad this one did.

for a ship as old as this one, i'm genuinely amazed to see such an exciting idea done in such a spectacular way.made me wish that the May pairing contest accepted something like this i suppose the fountain of creativity is still flowing with innovation and passion~ \n see you next time!

Somewhere out there in the Crystal Empire Cadance is beating her head against a wall.

Perhaps it's just me, but the way that there is dialog from a character being dictated in a letter to that same character reads very oddly to me.

Mmm, yeah I get that. To be honest the intention was to blend Twilight reflecting internally into the letter, which is why it doesn't really feel like a letter until the last few paragraphs. I guess mentioning that it's a letter in the description kinda messed with that idea, as in my head it was almost like a twist.

That was the original idea I had going into this, that this would be one final reflection, and Rainbow would actually get with Soarin, but that made me sad and I don't like being sad.

It very nearly didn't, but I much prefer being happy than sad.

I'm sure no one but Twilight noticed the giant rainbow in the sky. Absolutely no one.....

that made me sad and I don't like being sad

*checks previous story*
Yeah that checks out, buddy. :raritywink:

every time i read one of these type of stories, i get more grateful that I am incapable of feeling love or any other emotion for that matter

Gotta say, the way I experienced this made it all the more interesting. I listen on my phone with earbuds. The site recently changed so it doesn't keep your screen on. The story cut off right where rainbow says maybe after she's done with the wonderbolts they can date. Horrible thing to say to someone and it made the rest of the story, when I realized it wasn't over, have a really negative feel for rainbow. As a result the ending was that much more surprising, and more convincing as there was a larger emotional block in place before I would accept it story wise. Bravo

Probably cried even more dramatically than usual because of my period, but good god my tears just wont stop flowing. Fucking love this story. Best thing I’ve read in ages.

Always a sucker for happy endings. Great story.
