Seriously. It's not that complicated of a matter. It's like asking why stories of zebras dominating and enslaving ponies aren't more popular on this site. Or why She-Hulk was such a massive flop. Or why Virus was such a box office bomb. Or even why HBO's Velma was universally hated. People just don't like what they simply don't like. And trying to figure out why they don't like something in an effort to try and get them to like it, is an exercise in futility.
Changing a foalsitter’s biological sex just because she’s hungry and can’t wait a few hours for Mom to come back and nurse her, sounds exactly like what an overpowered infant alicorn like Flurry Heart would do.
P.S. I’m a bit confused why this is tagged as transgender, it seems more like a genderswap to me since Sunburst doesn’t seem to have a strong inner desire to be a female, from what I’ve read. It’s more like he was turned into the female sex against his will.

I was more thinking about all the downvotes. It’s not like I downvote stories I don’t like I just don’t read them. Typically it’s for things like really poor writing or story inconsistency unless it’s tagged as comedy.

Yep, this basically never actually works the way the downvoters were hoping. And when it does, that just drives yet more people to throw actual money at the few writers they haven't intimidated.
I can't help but feel Sunburst is incredibly adorable, talking so prosaically. That's the great thing about their character, and it really works well with the situation they found themselves in.
Now... as for the magic strength thing... I have my theories. Maybe, just maybe, their magic was sort of repressed before the change? Hmm. :3
