Chapter 38: The Plan

The situation was as mentioned: Sombra had wanted to put on a special match for everybody, sort of as a way to set the tone for the event tomorrow. Currently it was Sour Sweet who chose to step up and requested that she faced Isaac. On the surface, it seemed like a regular challenge. However, both Sombra and the other students of Crystal Prep had other intentions. Both Isaac and Sour Sweet had made their way to the center of the room as their fellow peers looked on. Their teammates were watching from the stage as they prepared to see what the other would do.

Cadance then did her job of officiating as the referee for this match. "If both representatives are set, then let this special preview duel begin."

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said the voice of their duel disks.

"Let's duel!" they both shouted.

Isaac's Life Points: 8000-
Sour Sweet's Life Points: 8000-

Turn 1: Sour Sweet

Sombra was watching when Shining Armor began to talk with him. "It seems your plan is working Principal Sombra. Now we'll be able to see just what Isaac can do and what his play style is. This will really prove useful when construction our strategy to deal with him."

"Well then, ladies first. Draw." Sour Sweet drew her card and looked at her hand. Seems I got some good cards in my starting hand. It would be so easy to just defeat their leader and show that he's nothing more than a phony. But I have to remember the plan from Principal Sombra. I need to remember that my role is to figure out what skills Isaac has as well as what his signature monster is; he may have told me to lose this duel but he didn't say that I would have to make it easy for him.

"Time to see what you got, I'll start by playing Amazoness Chain Master(1500/1300) in attack mode. Now I'll activate the effect of my Amazoness Baby Tiger from my hand, since I summoned a 'Amazoness' monster while this card is in my hand. I can special summon him, so come out my pet. Amazoness Baby Tiger(500/500) in defense mode. I'll then end my turn with a facedown." Alright, time to see what you're made of.

Turn 2: Isaac

"Time to show what CHS can do, draw." Isaac looked at his hand and began to look at Sour Sweet's field. "I'll start by playing Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode." Isaac played his monster and out came a magician warrior who wielded a sword and shield.

The moment Isaac played his monster, Sombra immediately got the biggest grin on his face as his. Shining Armor saw this and asked him what he was smiling about.

"Excuse me, sir. But why the sudden smile?"

"Because Shining Armor, I've already figured out what kind of player Mr. Isaac is. Not to mention that I've also solved what his signature monster is."

Shining Armor was surprised that Principal Sombra was already able to figure out Isaac's deck. "Already? How did you manage to figure out that from his opening card?"

"Let's say that I just ran all the possibilities involving that card and eventually I figured it out."

"Then what is it?"

"Now that would spoil the surprise, besides I feel that if I reveal it; then it would ruin the show we're watching. Just keep paying attention." With that both of them turned back to the duel happening between Isaac and Sour Sweet.

"Now I'll equip my Breaker with Bound Wand. Thanks to this spell, my Breaker gains 100 more attacks points for each level it has. Since Breaker is level 4, he gains 400 more attack points. On top of that, when Breaker is summoned he gains a counter which gives him another 300 points, so his total strength is 2300." Isaac's monster now had a energy surrounding him as he powered up.

The students of CHS just had smiles on their faces as they were used to Isaac doing plays like this. The students of Crystal Prep all had their mouths hanging open as they even taken by surprised from Isaac's move. Most of them expected him to be just the standard run of the mill duelist seeing as he was from CHS, where not many students knew about advanced methods. But that move alone showed that he knew what he was doing and that he was the champion for a reason. Sour Sweet just had a straight face, but inside she too was shocked at her opponent's skills.

"Now I'll have my Breaker attack Amazoness Chain Master, take her out." Isaac's monster then raised its sword and brought it down as it got rid of Sour Sweet's monster.
Sour Sweet's Life Points: 7200-

"I'll then end my turn by setting one card facedown."

Turn 3: Sour Sweet

"How dare you strike a girl! Alright, I'm done playing nice. Time to teach you a lesson." Sour Sweet let out her anger and drew her card. "I'll activate the effect of my Amazoness Chain Master, now when it's destroyed by battle and sent to my grave, I can pay 1500 life points to look at your hand and select one monster to add it to my hand."
Sour Sweet's Life Points: 5700-

Sour Sweet's Amazoness Chain Master then appeared in spirit form as it threw its chain at Isaac's hand and yanked it back as it projected Isaac's cards for all to see. In Isaac's hand were the cards Pot of Greed, Dust Tornado, and Apprentice Illusion Magician. Once Sour Sweet saw her options, she made her decision. "Not bad cards, but seeing as you only have one monster in your hand, I'll take your Apprentice Illusion Magician." With that Isaac took his card and slotted it into his duel disk as it transported it to Sour Sweet who took it and added it to her hand. "Thanks for the gift, sweetie. I'll make sure to always treasure it." She now had a cheery smile on her face as she looked at Isaac and then the girls, particularly at Fluttershy. Fluttershy saw this and she was trying to hold back from starting a catfight with Sour Sweet.

"Yeah, I wouldn't expect to get too comfortable." Isaac had a smile on his face as Sour Sweet lost that fake smile on her face. "I'll reveal my facedown Reverse Spell, now as the name suggest I can reverse the effect of a card. So since your card allows you to take a monster from my hand, I can now turn back the hands of time and use the ability myself. So I'll take back my Apprentice Illusion Magician. In addition, I can draw one extra card from my deck."

Sour Sweet gritted her teeth as she couldn't believe what was happening. She then slotted the card into her duel disk and it was transported back to Isaac as he grabbed it and added to his hand. "Thanks for the gift, sweetie. I'll make sure to always treasure it." said Isaac as he mocked Sour Sweet's comment.

The rest of the girls laughed and smiled as Isaac had managed to outsmart Crystal Prep. CPA all had angry looks on their face, as Isaac was just mocking them and making them seem like amateurs. Sombra just had his hand on his chin as he was taking great interest in watching Isaac.

I hate this kid, not only is he making me look like a fool in front of the others. But he's actually outsmarting me; he managed to outplay me by not only getting an extra card and protecting his monster. He also got me to waste 1500 life points; now I have to resort to being on defense. Sour Sweet was now turning a new shade of red at how angry/embarrassed she was becoming from Isaac's attitude. "I'll play my Amazoness Fighter(1500/1300) and then I'll play the spell card Amazoness Call. Now I can now target 1 'Amazoness' monster from my deck and add it to my hand." Sour Sweet then touched her screen and began to select the monster she wanted. It then slotted out and she added it to her hand. "I'll then end my turn."

Turn 4: Isaac

"Alright, back to me. I'll play the spell Pot of Greed and add two more cards to my hand." Isaac then took his two cards and then began to access the field. "To start I'll activate Breaker's ability, now by removing the counter on him I can destroy one spell/trap on the field. So I'll get rid of your facedown." Breaker then pointed its sword and it sent Sour Sweet's facedown to the grave. "Now I'll take things to the next level, I'll play the spell Ancient Rule. So now I can special summon a normal spellcaster from my hand."

"Oh boy, I think I know what's coming!" shouted Pinkie who was jumping up and down on the stage.

"Time to see how Crystal Prep gets a kick out of this!" said Rainbow as she had a huge smile on her face.

"Now make way as I'll play my most loyal companion, Dark Magician!"

"What did he say!?" shouted Sour Sweet.

There was a bright light that shinned from Isaac's card as he held it up high. Out came a magician that wore purple garments and wielded a staff. It twirled its staff around before striking an intimidating pose. All eyes from the Crystal Prep students were on Isaac as they couldn't believe he had manage to be in possession of such a legendary card.

"No way! That dude is awesome." said Indigo Zap.

"This kid really is no pushover." Sugarcoat had actually managed to say something nice for once.

"Seems my suspicion was right; Isaac is currently the holder of the Dark Magician. Now time to see what else he can show me." Sombra's smile was now starting to grow.

Everybody was just in awe as they were preparing themselves for what Isaac was about to do. Twilight was watching as she hoped to gain more info about Isaac and his monster. Still she did her best to avoid looking in Isaac's direction while watching the match. However, the same couldn't be said for Isaac cause once he summoned his magician he immediately looked at Twilight hoping to get some sort of response from her. While she didn't have much expression, he could tell what she was thinking based on her eye movements and how he was looking at her. He then turned his attention back to his opponent.

"Next I'll play the spell Thousand Knives, with this I can destroy one monster on your side of the field. So time to shred away your Amazoness." With that Isaac got rid of Sour Sweet's monster and looked poised to strike. "Now I'll have Breaker take out your Amazoness Baby Tiger and then Dark Magician will attack you directly." Isaac's spellcasters then received their command and got rid of Sour Sweet's monster while also dealing some massive amounts of damage.
Sour Sweet's Life Points: 3200-

"That's enough for now, I'll just set a facedown."

Turn 5: Sour Sweet

"Now I'm really pissed off! I'll play the field spell Amazoness Village; now all 'Amazoness' monsters gain 200 extra attack. Next I'll play Amazoness Blowpiper(500/1800) in defense mode. I'll then throw 2 card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 6: Isaac

"My draw. Time to attack once more. Breaker clear the way by taking out her Amazoness Blowpiper!"

"Not this time, I play my trap Amazoness Onslaught. Now once per turn, during the battle phase, I can special summon 1 'Amazoness' monster from my hand and it gains 500 attack points until the end of the turn. So time to introduce you to one of my favorite Amazoness. Appear Amazoness Queen(2400/1800), now thanks to her ability all Amazoness monsters can't be destroyed in battle. So my monster isn't going anywhere."

"Nice save, I'll just end my turn."

Turn 7: Sour Sweet

"My draw. Now I'll show you want we learn at Crystal Prep Academy; first I'll activate the effect of my Amazoness Blowpiper. I'll lower the attack of your Dark Magician by 500 points until the end of the turn. Then I'll play this spell Polymerization and with it I'll fuse my Amazoness Tiger in my hand with Amazoness Archer. I Fusion summon Amazoness Pet Liger(2500/2400)!" Sour Sweet now had two of her powerhouses of her deck as they stared at Isaac and his Dark Magician. "Thanks to my field spell, all my monsters gain 200 attack points which make both of them strong enough to take out your magician. So first I'll have my Amazoness Queen attack your Breaker and then my Pet Liger will take out your other monster. My Liger has an ability where he gains 500 more attack during the damage calculation, so his total rises 3200. Now feast my pet." Amazoness Queen had no problem taking out Breaker and Pet Liger was getting to pounce on Isaac's Dark Magician.

"My Breaker may be gone, but my Dark Magician's not going anywhere. I reveal Magical Hats."

"Ah yeah, that's one of Isaac's signature plays!" Rainbow Dash was excited that Isaac was finding some way to protect his magician.

"Now Sour Sweet, if you want to destroy my magician then you'll find him first."

"Like that's going to help you, Pet Liger take out the hat on the farthest right. I knew you couldn't trick me."

"Did I now?"

Pet Liger attacked the hat of its choice which caused smoke to appear, but when it died down there was nothing there. Isaac just had a smile on his face while Sour Sweet was irate.

"Strike one." said Isaac with a smile on his face.

"I'll end my turn."
Isaac's Life Points: 7400-

Turn 8: Isaac

Now time to see what I get, draw. I'll start by playing Graceful Charity, now I draw 3 more cards and discard 2." Isaac picked up his cards and sent the ones he wanted to the grave. "I'll then set 2 cards facedown and end my turn."

Turn 9: Sour Sweet

"Let me guess, didn't have anything. Don't worry I'm about to put you out of your misery." Sour Sweet drew her card and focused on finding Isaac's magician. "First I'll activate my Blowpiper's effect again, which means your Dark Magician loses 500 points once again. Now he's reduced to 2000 attack points, so time to find him. Go my Queen, take out the middle hat!" Amazoness Queen raised her sword and brought it down on the middle hat which exploded into smoke but there was nothing there.

"Strike two. Your luck is failing you."

"On the contrary, it seems my odds of finding him have drastically increased. Now Pet Liger take out out his magician who's hiding under the hat on the right. As you know my Liger gains 500 more attack points during battle." Sour Sweet's Liger then pounced as it took out the right hat.

Everybody were leaning in as they were seeing if Sour Sweet had actually took out Isaac's Dark Magician. Amazoness Pet Liger just looked around as it was expecting something; just then an object began to fly towards Pet Liger as it made contact and bound him from moving.

"What's happening to my monster!?" screamed Sour Sweet.

"That's strike three. As a result you triggered my trap, Spellbinding Circle. Now my circle uses its magical properties to bind your Liger so that it can't move or change battle positions. In addition, your Pet Liger will lose 700 attacks points bring him to 2500 but he'll soon lose the extra 500 which brings his true total to 2000 points."

"I'm sick and tired of your tricks! I'll end my turn."

Turn 10: Isaac

"My turn, I'll play the spell Card of Sanctity, now we each draw till we have 6 cards in our hand." Isaac drew his card and had a smile on his face. "Next I'll play Bond Between Teacher and Student, so now time to reveal my Dark Magician's greatest apprentice. Appear Dark Magician Girl!" Isaac played his card and out came a female spellcaster.

Like always, all the boys had all their eyes on her, but this time it was the Crystal Prep boys that were making wolf whistles as they looked at Isaac's magician. Even Shining Armor was having a tough time to keep his composure, especially since Cadance was right next to him. Twilight just rolled her eyes at how unprofessional she thought all the males were acting; then she turned her attention towards Isaac and his Dark Magician Girl who just simply looked at her with a smile.

That girl, could she be the one I felt the strong presence coming from.

"Something on your mind, Mana?"

"It's just that I feel like we've seen that girl before, but I can't remember where."

"I know what you mean, there's something odd about her. It's like she's avoiding me for some reason; I just want to know why."

"Pardon me for being rude, master. But I should remind the both of you that we're still currently engaged in battle. I suggest that we switch our focus on taking down our opponent."

"You're right, Mahad. We'll worry about her later." said Isaac to both of his magicians as they both gave him a nod.

Twilight was seeing the scene play out in front of her and she was really paying attention to who Isaac was talking to. From everybody on the stage and around the duel, it looked like Isaac was talking to himself as his monsters just stood still.

"Is that dude, okay?" asked Indigo Zap.

"It's probably something that students who attend CHS do." said Sugarcoat as she had a straight look on her face.

I don't think so. It seems like he's really talking with someone, but who? There's nobody there." Twilight had a confused look on her face as she was trying to wrap her head around this.

"I'll then set a card due to my spell. Then I'll equip my Dark Magician Girl with Magic Formula to give her an extra 700 attack points. Now time for me to get rid of your monsters, go my magicians."

"My queen's effect prevents my Amazoness monsters from being destroyed."

"Not if I activate this card, from my hand I'll play the spell Ricochet. Now I can bounce one of your monsters back to your hand and I get to add one card to my hand."

"In that case, I'll reveal my trap: Dramatic Rescue. I can activate this when a card is played that targets a monster with 'Amazoness' in its name. Then I can select the targeted monster and return it to my hand, and then I can special summon 1 level 4 or lower 'Amazoness' monster from my deck. So I'll return my Amazoness Queen and play Amazoness Tiger(1100/1500). My Tiger has a special ability that allows him to gain 400 extra attack points for every 'Amazoness' I control, since there's currently 4 on my field he gains 1600 points bringing him to 2700."

Sour Sweet's card then shot a beam her Amazoness Queen as it surrounded her and then sent her back to Sour Sweet's hand. Isaac's Dark Magician still landed its mark as it took out her Pet Liger.
Sour Sweet's Life Points: 2700-

"I'll then activate the effect of my other facedown, Village Raid. So now I can copy the effect of a card that was used during this turn, and I'll copy the effect of your Ricochet spell card to bounce your Dark Magician Girl back to your hand and add a card to my hand."

"I'll then end my turn."

Turn 11: Sour Sweet

"Since I have fewer monsters, my Tiger loses 400 point so his strength right now is 1900. But that's about to change; first I'll activate the effect of my Amazoness Blowpiper to lower your magician by 500 points. Then I'll play my Amazoness Princess(1200/900), since I summoned her I can add 1 'Amazoness' spell/trap from my deck to my hand. I'll then play the card I got which is Amazoness Spellcaster. With this spell I can switch the original attack points of my monster with one of yours until the end of the turn. Since your magician started out with 2500 attack that's now how strong my Princess is while your monster just has 1200. Furthermore, when my Princess declares an attack, I can send one card to my grave to special summon another 'Amazoness' monster from my deck in defense mode. Next I'll play the ability of my Amazoness Spy, by revealing my Amazoness Queen in my hand, I can summon it to the field." Now Sour Sweet had nearly a full field of monsters as they looked to take out Isaac and his magicians.

"So now my tiger gains another 400 points which brings him back to 2700. Now Princess attack, with that I'll play my Amazoness Scouts(500/1100) in attack mode which gives my tiger an extra 400 points raising him to 3100. So Princess Tiger lead the charge." Sour Sweet's Amazoness Princess Tiger had no trouble getting rid of Isaac's magician which left him wide open for her other monsters. "Now my Amazoness Scouts will attack first which will then be followed up by my Amazoness Tiger, feel free to sink your teeth into him, my pet."

Isaac felt the blow from Sour Sweet's scouts but then looked up as her tiger was high into the air and had managed to jump on him. "Not the face! Not the face!" Amazoness Tiger then raised its paw as it used its claws to leave a scratch mark on Isaac's face. It then got off of him as it returned to its owner. Isaac sat up and he had three huge claw marks on his face as he felt the pain.

"Ohh, that will leave a mark for sure." said Pinkie.

"You ruffian, how can you do that our Isaac's dashing face!" screamed Rarity as she wasn't too pleased.

"I think Isaac might be considering on being a dog person." said Fluttershy.

Isaac then got back up as he shook himself which caused the scratch marks to disappear.
Isaac's Life Points: 2500-

Sour Sweet was petting her tiger as she was congratulating him on a job well done. "Seems like we're just about done here. On my next turn, I'll wipe out the rest of your life points. I'll end my turn." Maybe, I won't have to throw this duel after all.

Turn 12: Isaac

"A duel isn't over till your life points reach zero, which means I still have a chance to turn this around. So watch Sour Sweet cause my comeback starts now, draw!" Isaac looked at the card he drew. "I'll reveal my facedown Eternal Soul and with I can revive my Dark Magician from the grave. Then I'll play the spell Dark Magic Veil, now by paying 1000 life points I can summon my Dark Magician Girl from my hand."
Isaac's Life Points: 1500-

Alright, time to end this. "I'll then reveal the card I set earlier, Dark Magic Twin Burst. Now my Dark Magician Girl empowers my Dark Magician by her attack points which puts him at a grand total of 4500. Lastly, I'll play the spell Diffusion Wave Motion! So I'll pay another 1000 life points and as a result my Dark Magician can now attack all of your monsters at the same time. So Dark Magician end this duel with Dark Magic Attack!" Isaac's magician then pointed its staff in the air as a powerful ball of energy began to manifest and then it shot it towards Sour Sweet's field.

Sour Sweet just stood there with a straight look on her face; she then looked at her duel disk and noticed her facedown card. This is it, if I activate this card, then my victory is secured. Sour Sweet was about to activate her card when a thought ran through her head. But wait, Sombra needs me to lose so that we can lure CHS into a false sense of hope. Normally I'm not one for losing, but for the sake of the others. Sometimes you have to know when to take one for the team. Sour Sweet then put her arm down as she let the attack connect and finished the remaining of her life points.
Sour Sweet's Life Points: 0-

Winner: Isaac

Once the battle was over, the students of CHS were cheering as they were happy to be the ones picking up the momentum going into the event. The girls then hopped off from the stage as they started to surround Isaac and congratulated their buddy. Sombra and the rest of the CPA team then made their way to Sour Sweet who had an unpleasant look.

"I hope it was worth it. Next time, I'll like to make sure that I'm in a duel that doesn't require me to lose/throw."

"Believe me, Ms. Sweet. You played your part perfectly, now it's time to see CHS fall before our very eyes. Little do they know that this is just the beginning of the end." Sombra's voice then became a bit more cold and sinister as he locked his eyes on Team CHS and on Isaac.

"That was awesome, Isaac. Still if I had been the one dueling, I would have ended it way quicker." boasted Dash.

"Keep telling yourself, partner." said Applejack as she took a jab at Dash.

Celestia was watching her students enjoy themselves when she noticed Sombra approaching her. "Well then I hope you're pleased with the result of your request, Sombra." Celestia had a little smirk on her face as she too got a bit happy seeing her captain defeat one of their rivals.

"I couldn't more happy with what the outcome was. Now then, it's time we depart. Thank you for your hospitality, Celestia; may your team do their very best in tomorrow's Friendship Games." Sombra then kissed Celestia's hand as he began to round up his students.

While this was going on, Isaac noticed Twilight leaving and he excused himself as he chased after her. Twilight had just left the room and was about to join the rest of her team when she heard someone call out to her.

"Hey."

She turned around and saw it was Isaac. She quickly turned around as she was preparing to walk.

"I just want to talk." Isaac then got closer to Twilight as he now got a pretty good look at her. "What's your name?"

"It's Twilight. Twilight Sparkle."

"Nice to meet you Twilight. I'm Isaac."

"I know who you are."

"Oh, well I mean why wouldn't you. Your school probably knows about us, right?"

"Well you're partially right."

"What do you mean?" Isaac raised an eyebrow at Twilight's response.

"You'll find out soon enough; look I don't how or why you have that card. But I promise that I will find the answers I seek. So I'd appreciate it if you don't interfere with my research. Now then I must take my leave." With that Twilight turned around and began to head out, but before she was fully out of his sight she stopped and said something to Isaac with her back turned. "Good luck tomorrow and I hope that you can help me with my hypothesis." Twilight then walked and she disappeared.

Isaac just had a confused look on his face as he was trying to figure out what Twilight's statement was. Before he could even try to understand what she was saying, he felt a hand touch his shoulder and when he turned around he saw it was none other than Dean Cadance of Crystal Prep.

"That was an amazing duel I must say, Isaac."

"Thanks Ms..."

"Pardon me, but I'm Cadance. I serve as the Dean of Crystal Prep Academy."

"Well, then let me say it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Ms. Cadance. I must say that you're definitely a loving lady."

"I welcome the compliment." Cadance then took a moment to look at Isaac's face.

Isaac was a bit nervous as she was getting a bit too close to him. "Umm, what are you doing?"

"Oh, sorry about that. It's just that I special talent when it comes to looking at people's faces and my does your face tell a story. I can tell how a person feels about a certain someone."

"Mind clarifying what you mean?" Isaac was scratching his head.

"Your eyes, they show me that you're a kind soul who is willing to make those around him smile. Not to mention that you're destined for great things. However, I do see that you do have a bit of conflict in you. Mainly revolving around a certain group of individuals and your struggling with how to address certain feelings."

"I'm not quite sure, I understand."

"You'll figure it out in due time, I just know you'll make the right decision. Well then, I must catch up with the rest of my students. Take care Isaac and good luck in tomorrow's Friendship Games; I'll say yours eyes do have a certain sparkle." Cadance gave Isaac a sly smile as she left him alone with his thoughts.

What was that about? There's so many things happening that I don't even know where to start. I can't worry about that, right now I need to focus on rally the the girls and the school. They're all depending on me to lead CHS to victory and I can't disappoint them, especially Celestia. Isaac then made his way back to auditorium. Once Isaac made his way back, he then met up with the girls as he wanted to go over their plan one last time.

Meanwhile Twilight had made her way to the parking lot as she joined the rest of her team when she noticed her brother waiting there for her. "What is it?"

"Nothing, just wanted to get your opinion on that duel. Seems the champion really is a formidable opponent."

"He has a name you know." replied Twilight.

"So he does know you? Tell me."

"I just think it's rude to address someone by their title when you already know their name. I mean, even Principal Sombra addresses him by his actual name. Or were you too busy paying attention to that magician girl of his?" Twilight had manage to turn the tables on her brother as now it was his turn to sweat.

"Leave, Dark Magician Girl out of this."

"Seriously!? Were you and all the other boys just fawning over her like she's some kind of trophy. Please it's just a card and the idea of having a crush on a card is just stupid. I mean who in the hell does that; surely there aren't people in real life who act this way?"

Shining Armor then cleared his throat. "Moving on, I noticed Isaac's playstyle is similar to someone I know."

"If you think that me and him are one in the same, you're sorely mistaken. When I play my spellcasters, I do it with precision. Not to mention that I can come up with better tactics than he can. All those moves he pulled off in his duel with Sour Sweet, those were just basic stuff. Plays that anybody can do, and they're easy to counter if you know what you're doing."

"Is that so, well then we should have no problem beating him and his team tomorrow? In fact, he's impressed me so much that I believe he deserves to have a deck that can really challenge him." Shining Armor had a smile on his face as he was thinking about it.

Twilight knew what her brother was talking about and it made her a bit worry due to the fact the her brother only used that deck when he was serious. "You don't mean that deck? I'll admit that will be a battle that is as old as time itself."

"Which is exactly why, he won't see it coming. Besides, what's wrong with the classics?"

"Well, that's assuming you'll even get to face him." With that Twilight then walked past her brother as she made her way to the limo.

Shining Armor just kept his eyes on his sister until he heard a feminine voice from behind it.

"She really doesn't understand the idea of friendship."

Shining Armor turned his head and saw Cadance standing behind him. He just gave her a goofy smile to which she just simply giggled before standing in front of him. "She still believes that books and science are the only things she needs in life. Twily is smart girl and in terms of dueling, I may be the best but I feel like even she could surpass me if she took the time to actually enjoy the game instead of letting numbers to the talking."

"You know we can't change the way she looks at things, the best thing we could do is make sure that we're there for her every step of the way and support her with whatever she decides to do."

"You're right." Shining Armor then wrapped his left arm around Cadance's shoulder as he pulled her in closer. "I just want to be the best for her, I'm her big bro and it's my duty to make sure she's happy."

"I'm sure she appreciates all that you've done for her. She's lucky to have someone like you in her life; I know I am." Cadance gave Shining Armor flirting eyes as she leaned in and gave him a kiss on his lips. It lasted for a few seconds before she pulled away and they both had a shade of red on their faces. "Now then, what's this I hear about you having eyes for Dark Magician Girl." Cadance's demeanor changed on a dime.

"Nothing. I have no recollection of what you're talking about." Shining Armor was nervous as he quickly walked away to avoid his suffering Cadance's wrath.

Cadance just merely laughed as she enjoyed teasing Shining. She didn't mind if he laid eyes on a duel monsters card; cause she knew that at the end of the day she would love him no matter what. Still it was a nice way to keep him in check and a way to relieve some stress. With that all of Crystal Prep left as they prepared for the upcoming battle.

It was finally time for the Friendship Games. Both Canterlot High and Crystal Prep Academy were seated in opposites sides of the bleachers on the soccer field. They were constantly chanting for their school while trying to outdo the other. The chants were so loud that the families of the students at home could hear them. Speaking of that, the Friendship Games was such a well talked about event that it was being televised for the student's families at home. The field had been changed completely as there were thousands of LED boards all over the field as they would showcase the duel for all to see. There was even thousands of bright lights and speakers so that no one would miss even a second of the action. There was even a pyrotechnicians who were hired by Celestia who wanted to make this event feel special. Everything was in place, now all that was missing was the competitors then it would be nothing but wargames.

Twilight, Shining Armor, and the rest of the Shadowbolts were all gathered in their locker doing their own thing to prepare themselves for the fight. Shining Armor was going over the last minute details of his deck. There it's finally finished, not all that's left is to show it off. Just then the door to their locker room opened and in walked Principal Sombra and Dean Cadance.

"The time is upon us, time to put the final nail in the coffin that has been named CHS. This will be the last time anybody will ever mention their name. After today you'll be welcomed in the new age and hailed as heroes as history will remember that you chose to be on the winning side. You'll doing this for the greater good; and as your messiah I couldn't be more proud."

"Time to send CHS packing." said Indigo Zap who fistbumped Lemon Zest.

"Never did like them, it'll be much more pleasant sight when we wipe them off the face of this earth." Sugarcoat adjusted her glasses as she said her statement.

"Victory with style." Sunny Flare flipped her hair.

"Was hoping to party with that pink haired girl? Oh well." Lemon Zest then put her headphones on and began to rock out.

"The greatest revenge for throwing yesterday's duel will be to see the hopes and dreams of this beloved school crumble." Sour Sweet had a smile on her face which turned into an angry look.

Sombra then looked at Twilight who was lost in her own head. "Twilight, any last words you want to say to CHS?"

Twilight just looked at Sombra and then at her brother and teammates. She had hoped to continue her research about Isaac and why he was the chosen one to wield the Dark Magician. But she figured that once this event was done, she'll have all the time to find the answers. She then turned back at her time and addressed. "By my calculations, our victory is but 100% secured."

"Good. Now then let's go and put down CHS for good!" With that they all left the locker room as they made their way to the soccer field.

Isaac was currently in Canterlot High's locker room as he had his duel disk on his arm. He had his deck in one had and his captain's cap in his other as he was sitting down on the bench. He kept going over the final preparations of his deck as he didn't want to let not just his team, but the entire school down. Isaac kept thinking back to how everybody was counting on him to lead Team CHS to victory, even Celestia was rooting him on to show that Canterlot High was just as good if not better than Crystal Prep. The pressure was starting to get to Isaac as he took deep breaths trying to calm himself down. Then as if on cue, the door opened and in walked the girls as they all had their duel disk ready to go and were wearing something.

Isaac got a glimpse of them and was impressed. "Love the wardrobe."

"Thank you, darling. I made sure to make team shirts that not only exemplify our personality but show that we're a team."

Rarity had took the initiative to make the Isaac and the girls matching t-shirts. It wasn't anything too fancy as it consisted nothing but their name and their signature marks. Rarity also made the effort to color coordinate them; Fluttershy was wearing a yellow t-shirt, Applejack had a green shirt, Dash was rocking a solid sky blue, Pinkie's was obvious, Sunset looked hot wearing crimson red, and Rarity had gone with an indigo styled color. She then handed Isaac his t-shirt which consisted of black and gold as well as his name. Isaac put it on and immediately it felt nice.

"Well now that we're dressed, I say we go show those Crystal Preppies what happens when you underestimate us." shouted Rainbow.

"Ain't nothing like a good old fashion tussle." Applejack was cracking her knuckles as she twisted her head.

"Hope everybody isn't too tired after this because I plan to throw the biggest party this school has ever seen." Pinkie was bouncing up and down.

"A lady never resorts to violence, but I'm willing to make any exception for what they did to my darling's beautiful face." Rarity did a dramatic pose.

"I just hope they go easy on us, then again maybe not." Fluttershy did her best to try to sound tough/confident as she hid behind her hair.

"They want to take down our school, they we won't go down without a fight!" Sunset fistbumped her chest.

"Thank you. All of you. It's because of you that I'm standing here not just as your leader, but as someone who knows his friends will always have his back. Everyone is counting on us to win, so let's not disappoint. Win or lose, let's all go out there and have fun." Isaac then put his hand out to which the girls did the same.

"Team Canterlot on three. One. Two. Three!" said Isaac.

"Team Canterlot!" they all shouted.

Celestia then walked in as she saw Isaac and the girls getting themselves ready for war. "It's about time to start. Are you ready?"

Isaac then put his deck into his duel disk and put on his captain's cap as he stood up and saluated Celestia. "Captain Isaac, reporting for duty. Hey, that has nice ring to it."

Celestia just let out a small giggle as she returned the salute. "Then follow me team." Celestia then led her students out to the field with Isaac leading the pack.

The atmosphere was electric as the crowds were louder than they had ever been. You could hear the noise being made as the chants 'CHS' and 'Crystal Prep' rang throughout the entire field. Celestia, Luna, Cadance, and Sombra all had their own chairs from a box office as they were looking forward to watching some incredible battles. Then It was time to start as Cadance took the microphone and began to talk.

"Welcome everybody here in attendance and at home watching. Both today and tomorrow promises to be filled of enjoyment and fun duels for all of us to see. In today's event, we document another stored chapter in the rivalry between Canterlot High and Crystal Prep. Now the rules for this event is that there is a total of 7 single round elimination style duels. The winner of the duel will score 1 point for their team; the team that scores the first to 4 will be declared the winners. In the event of a tie after all 7 duels have occurred they their will be one final duel where each team will select one member to represent them and from then there must be a winner. Now then time to introduce the duelists, please welcome Team Crystal Prep!"

The music played as Team Crystal Prep walked through the doors and made their entrance. Shining Armor was in front as he was leading the girls behind him. As they were walking, pyro and fireworks went off as their school cheered them on as they were making their way to the field. While Canterlot High was less than pleased, they still showed their respect by clapping for them. Eventually then made it over to the field as they waved to their school behind them and then waited for their opponents.

Luna then rose up out of her chair and grabbed the microphone. "And now please welcome, Team Canterlot!"

Once the music played, all of CHS erupted into a frenzy. Unlike Crystal Prep, where they came out together; Team Canterlot came out one by one. The first person to come out was Fluttershy as she waved to the crowd and then stood off the side in her position. Then Rainbow came out playing to the crowd before she took a position a bit in front of Fluttershy. Pinkie Pie then came out as she was bouncing up and down and throwing sweets/candy to the crowd; she took a different position as she was standing on the opposite side of Fluttershy. Rarity came out blowing kisses to the fans and the cameras before she took her position in front of Pinkie but was on the opposite side of Dash. Applejack made her presence know she tipped her hat off the crowd before fist bumping her friends before taking her spot in front of Dash. Sunset then came out as flipped her hair before she took a position in front of Rarity as she was on Applejack's opposite. Then stayed like that all having serious faces as they stared a hole at Crystal Prep. Not even Pinkie was her usual happy face as she was giving the most convincing look as she had the angriest look out of all the girls. Then they all turned their head behind them as the final member of their team and their captain made his way out.

Isaac was wearing his captain's cap as well as his signature hoodie with the shirt that Rarity had made him under it. Isaac then just walked past the girls as he took his place at the head of the pack and looked at Crystal Prep with the most serious face he had ever had in his life. Once Isaac took his position, it could be seen that they were in the formation of a V-shaped. Isaac then looked to his left and right as he was taking in the sight that was before him. It felt great as it brought him to life, especially when he heard them chanting his name. Isaac then took a deep breath and closed his eyes as he soaking in this moment; he then opened his eyes and stomped his foot as pyro and fireworks exploded around them to signify their dominance. Isaac then began to walk down as the girls slowly followed him while still keeping in formation. Once they made it to the dueling field then then began to spread out as they all lined up in a row with Isaac in the middle as they stared at their opponents who were doing the same. Not a single person moved as they were all locked on their own individual. Fluttershy staring down Sour Sweet, Applejack staring at Sugarcoat, Rarity locking eyes with Sunny Flare, Dash giving Indigo Zap a death glare, Pinkie not showing a sign of happiness as she eyed Lemon Zest, Sunset putting on an intimidating face as she looked at Twilight who tried to look tough. That left the captains to lock horns with each other, neither Isaac nor Shining Armor were moving/blinking at they looked at each other. Nobody moved or they dare risk showing weakness for their side.

"So you had the balls to show up? I can respect that." snickered Shining Armor.

Isaac snickered back with his own comment. "Just promise me one thing, Shining Armor. Before you step on the dueling field with me, that you retrieve your balls from Cadance's purse."

That comment alone was almost enough to send Shining Armor into rage mode as he clenched his fist for talking about his manhood while also insulting his special someone. Isaac saw this and he too prepared himself as he was ready to get physically. Thankfully that didn't happen as soon both teams heard from Luna to take their places on their benches. With that the two teams broke contact with each other and sat down on their bench with their side of the school behind them cheering. The grassy field before them had been marked with four cones that sent out holographic light beams, tracing out a rectangle. On the scoreboard on the far side of the court were the fourteen portraits of the participating duelist, arranged in a row beneath their school logo.

Luna then lifted the microphone from the principal’s table. “Now that we are assembled, we shall choose the first duelists to compete.” The first portrait in the two rows lit up – blue for Canterlot, purple for Crystal Prep – and began to flash. The two student bodies cheered as the light flipped between portraits, and then began to slow. The portraits slowed even further and then stopped, flashing. The highlighted portraits slid down in the display and grew larger.

“Our first duel is decided! CHS’s Fluttershy Breeze will face CPA’s Sour Sweet!” shouted Luna.

“Oh no.” Sunset turned her head. Rainbow and Applejack stood up and pulled Fluttershy to her feet.

“Ready to whoop butt, Fluttershy?” Rainbow grinned.

“No! I'll crack under the pressure! I'll snap like a twig!” screamed Fluttershy as she wasn't expecting her to be the one to start off things.

The CHS students began to chant her name. Rainbow and Applejack sat down, leaving Fluttershy to slowly creep up to the dueling field. On the Crystal Prep bench, Sour Sweet stood up, tossed her hair, and walked up opposite her.

Sour Sweet pursed her lip. “You’re so scared. I don’t know if I should stroke your arm or shove you down.” She grinned. “Oh, wait. Yes I do.” She turned and strutted to the far end of the field.

“Flut-ter-shy, Flut-ter-shy!” chanted the sea of CHS students.

“You got this!” Rainbow called out.

“Give that brute what-for!” Rarity chimed in.

Fluttershy raised her duel disk and pressed the button to activate it with a yellow light coming out. Sour Sweet’s disk projected a pale pink light field.

“And now, let the first duel of the Friendship Cup begin!"

Only error I see is Dramatic Rescue isn't supposed to bounce the opponent's monster, only the Amazoness monster that was being targeted by a card effect there.
