Chapter 201: Mark of Mastery

The students were all in the break room as they all looked at each other with uneasy looks. They couldn't say anything of their result due to the nondisclosure clause they all signed to not discuss anything that happened until Isaac came with the results. Even the girls were forbidden from meeting with their students as they would only be allowed when Isaac call all of them together to go over the final verdict. So for the time being all they could do was wait.

Meanwhile...

Isaac was in a conference room with the three suits as they were discussing the final results and calculating scores using the rubric given to them by Isaac. While the executives were talking, Isaac just leaned back in his chair with his eyes closed as he had his hands to his mouth as they were folded. He then opened his eyes and got the attention of the representatives from the Board. They all nodded as they grabbed some papers and handed them to Isaac as he shook each of their hands and they walked out of the room. Isaac then checked his watch as he had one hour. One hour.

"It's time," said Isaac as he walked out of the room as he had to be somewhere.

Isaac was making his way to the back of the school towards the field as he had to meet with certain people. While Isaac told the students that he would give them his answer in one hour, he already knew what he was going to say. So the question was... what is he doing if he already had the final results? The answer, one final exam.

He found who he was looking for as sitting on the bleachers was a trio of younger kids.

"He's here, girls," said Scootaloo. She and the rest of the CMC all rushed to their mentor as he gave each of them a hug.

"So, how did the testing go?" asked Sweetie Belle as Isaac told each of the three of what was happening.

"Well, I told everybody to wait one hour before I reveal the results. But the Board already made their decision in five minutes," said Isaac.

"If that's the case, then why did you tell them to wait?" asked Applebloom.

"Cause I have some other business to attend," said Isaac. "I called you all here for a reason." Isaac then bent down on one knee as the small girls gathered around the older boy. "You all know the person you look up to is graduating, and you all claim you want to follow in their footsteps and carry on their legacy. I admire that but know that you need to make your path. The girls laid out the foundation so that you three can build upon it, so don't try to be someone else. Be you. do you understand?"

"We do." smiled the girls.

"Good, then I have one final present to give you," said Isaac as he pulled out three small rectangle devices as they were duel disks fitted for the CMC.

"You mean?" started Scootaloo.

"We get our duel disks?" said Sweetie Belle as she was in shock.

"These are made for kids your age. I wanted to give you all these when I felt the time was right and when you've shown that you deserve them. And well, that time is now." Isaac then handed each of the small girls their duel disk as the CMC was filled with happiness and tears in their eyes.

"Duel disk online.” said the mechanical voices.

"Put your decks in," said Isaac as they all did what he said and slotted in their decks.

The mechanical voice from the disks droned to life as the disk lit up. The girls' deck shuffled themselves as the touchscreen projected holograms into the air, a ring of the cards in their decks rotated in front of them. On the front end of the disk, the holographic emitter slid open and projected a field of hard light energy around it, forming a curved card tray light. Applebloom received a fuchsia color card tray, Scootaloo got an orange color card tray, and Sweetie Belle had an eggshell color card tray. All of them were small enough so that the girl could lift them with ease.

"This is amazing!" shouted Applebloom.

"Totally!" stated Scootaloo in excitement.

"I feel like a true duelist," said Sweetie Belle.

Isaac was smiling at how the girls had joy on their faces as receiving their duel disks. "Glad you like them, cause there's one more thing that you all need to do."

"What's that?" asked all three in unison.

"That's to prove you have what it takes to carry the torch. So all three of you will be competing in a four-way battle royale," said Isaac. "Right now."

"Yes!" said Scootaloo as she and the others all got on the field and spread out as they each activated their duel disks as their card trays projected.

"But wait, you said four?" asked Sweetie Belle.

"That because... I'm the fourth person," said Isaac as he was now switched into game mode as he presented his duel disk as it projected a gold card tray.

"You?" said Applebloom as the others had shocked looks on their faces.

"Your final test will be against me, girls!" stated Isaac. "Prove to me you have what it takes!"

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.

Sweetie Belle's Life Points: 4000-

Applebloom's Life Points: 4000-
Scootaloo's Life Points: 4000-

"Let's duel!" shouted all four of them.

"I will allow you three to make the first moves, but know this is the only act of mercy I will show you all in this duel," said Isaac in a serious tone and a scowl on his face.

Turn 1: Scootaloo

"Good to know, I'll start. I draw!" said the younger girl. "I'll begin by summoning my trusty, Jetroid(1600/1800) in defense mode," said Scoots as she had a small jet-like humanoid appear on her field as it transformed to stand on its back wheels.

"I'll end my turn with a facedown."

Turn 2: Sweetie Belle

"That all, easy." counted Sweetie Belle as she drew her card. "I'll start with my favorite musical piece, 1st Movement Solo! Since I control no monsters, I can special summon one 'Melodious' monster from my hand or deck. So I'll take my Aria the Melodious Diva(1600/1200)!" said Sweetie Belle as her duel disk ejected the card she desired and summoned her monster to the field. "Then since I control a 'Melodious' monster, I can special summon my Canon the Melodious Diva(1400/2000). Then I'll activate the effect of my Canon so that I can switch her into defense mode." stated the girl as her monster switched modes.

"I end with one card facedown."

Turn 3: Applebloom

"Mah turn, and I'll start by playin' the field spell, Aroma Garden!" Applebloom played her field spell as soon the field around them began to change as all four of them now found themselves being surrounded by tons of flowers as they had all the colors you could think of.

"Next up, ah summon mah Aromage Jasmine(100/1900)." Out emerged Applebloom's small monster as it was a girl who had blue jasmine leaves as her hair flowed beautifully as she wore a satchel over her and wore a cute outfit. "Then ah activate the effect of mah field spell, so since I control an 'Aroma' monster, ah gain 500 more life points." stated the small country girl.
Applebloom's Life Points: 4500-

"Then ah activate Jasmine's effect, since mah life points are higher than all of y'all, ah can conduct an additional summon this turn, so I tribute Jasmine to summon Aromage Bergamot(2400/1800)!" Applebloom now had a different monster on her field as this one was about the same height as her as it was a male as he wielded a staff as he took his position in front of the girl.

"And now the other effect of mah field spell activates, in that my monster gains 500 more attack and defense points until the end of one of y'alls next turn. So he now had 2900 attack and 2300 defense points," said Applebloom as she picked Isaac to be one to know when the effect would expire. "Now attack Canon!" stated the girl as she had her monster target Sweetie Belle's monster.

"My monster is in defense mode, so I'll be fine."

"Not quite, see when mah life points are higher, Bergamot can inflict piercing damage. So you're still losing some life points," stated Applebloom with a smile as she took our her friend's monster and dealt some damage to her.
Sweetie Belle's Life Points: 3100-

"Ah end mah turn with a facedown."

"Applebloom, why did you attack me first?!" shouted Sweetie Belle. "Scootaloo is an easier target."

"What's that suppose to mean?!" shouted the girl as she took offense to that comment made by her best friend.

"It means ah could beat if I wanted to," stated Applebloom with a smug smile. "I was the first one to have Isaac help me rebuild mah deck."

"No way! I could duel circles around you, especially you!" stated Scootaloo as she pointed at Sweetie Belle for that last point.

"I'd like to see you try!" shouted back Sweetie Belle.

Soon all three of the CMC started to argue with each other who was the better one of the trio. And who was the one that Isaac trained with the most and adored as they bickered. The thing however was that Isaac had yet to take his turn as the girls were still arguing as he just couldn't help but smile at how the three friends were acting. He then stepped his foot forward as which got the girls to shut up instantly as the realization finally dawned on them that it was Isaac's turn. And even though they wanted to show they were ready to step up and prove their mark of mastery, they couldn't help but be scared at what Isaac was going to do.

Turn 4: Isaac

"My turn, I draw!" said Isaac as he drew his card as some wind blew over the girls as it hit them in the face and pushed them back a few inches as they tried to avoid being thrown onto their backs by the breeze. "To start, I'll summon my Magician Boy(1500/1200). Then since I control a Level 4 or below monster, I can special summon my Mage Annette(1300/1700) to join her best friend! And when Mage Annette is summoned, I'm allowed to draw one card." said Isaac as he picked up the top card of his deck as his two kids magicians appeared before their master.

"You guys ready to show them why you're some of my best cards?" asked Isaac.

"Yeah." smiled the boy as he was super excited that he fell tripped on his oversized robes and fell facefirst onto the ground.

Mage Annette just facepalmed herself at how her best friend just humiliated himself. She then extended her hand out as the boy magician managed to pull his face off of the ground in a cartoonish way as he looked at the small girl in front of him.

"You done goofy off?" asked Annette.

"Calm down, wild cat." said the boy magician as it got the girl to be irritated that she was called that by her friend.

"Stupid octopus! Take that comment back!" said Annette as she retracted her hand and turned her back to her friend.

"Why am I an octopus?" asked the boy magician as he got back to his feet.

"How am I cat?" asked Annette turning her head to look at her friend.

"Well, uh, cats are cute." said the boy as his response got the girl to blush.

"Go away!" said Annette as she turned her back she blushed even more and played with her hair at what the boy just said.

"Come on, Annette. Can we just get along?" asked the boy as he place his hand on her shoulder as she could feel it on the straps of her dress and the contact of her skin with his made her blush even more.

"Fine." said the girl as she shooed his hand and looked back at Isaac as he nodded at both of the kid magicians. "But one thing," stated Annette as she pulled out her tiny wand and then pointed it at her best friend. Her magic now surrounded the boy and then started to change his clothes as instead of his oversized robes, he now had a magician's outfit that fit his size, his hat resembled that of Mahad's and fit to his head, and to top it off, he now had a dark purple cape that flowed behind him.

"Woah." said the boy as he had the face like he received a present for his birthday.

"I made a new outfit for you. Something to help you not trip and make a fool of yourself" said Annette she traced her foot in the ground with her dwindling her hands behind her back. "Do.. you like it?"

"I love it!" said the small boy. "Isaac?"

"Love the new look, buddy," said Isaac. His Magician Boy card on his duel disk then shined with a light as the artwork of his magician changed to match his new appearance. "Looks like it's a permanent look."

"Thanks, Annette." said the boy as decided to give a hug to his best friend as Annette blushed the most while wrapping her arms around the boy's back and placed her head under his chin as the boy couldn't help but smile as it felt nice to be in Annette's arms.

"Now then, I'll have my Magician Boy attack your Aromage Bergamot!" stated Isaac as his tiny boy magician could not move more easily than he could before due to his new appearance as he leaped into the air with ease as his cape fluttered in the wind. He shot his spell and aimed it towards Applebloom's monster who simply put a barrier up as it deflected the attack.

"Now my Magician Boy's special ability, activates, any damage I would have taken, you take instead!" said Isaac. The shot deflected by Applebloom's monster was now redirected towards the small girl as it landed near her feet as her monster was feeling guilty about hurting the girl who was his master. Applebloom just smiled to show it was all okay.
Applebloom's Life Points: 3100-

"But that's not all, since my Magician Boy failed to destroy a monster, I can now target one monster on the field and deal damage to its controller equal to its attack points. And I choose... Jetroid!" said Isaac as he now pointed at Scootaloo as his boy spellcaster fired another attack as it took out Scoots monster to avoid it being a problem as she too took damage.
Scootaloo's Life Points: 2400-

"Nice work, bud," said Isaac as he bent down on one knee and gave his monster a high five.

"Hey, Annette. Your new clothes work. I love them." said the boy.

"Glad to know you're happy." said the girl as all the hours she spent making them was worth it to see her crush have a smile on his face. She then leaned in and kissed him on the cheek as it got the boy to have some birds appear around his head as he was stunned for a few seconds.

"I now end my turn with a facedown."

Turn 5: Scootaloo

"My turn, I draw," said Scootaloo as she needed to do something since she currently had the lowest attack points which meant she was now a target. "I'll start by summoning my Submarineroid(800/1800). Then activate its ability so that I can attack directly, and I choose Sweetie Belle!" stated the girl as her monster then bypassed her field and straight for her as she put her small arms up as she took damage.
Sweetie Belle's Life Points: 2300-

Now she has fewer life points than me, which should take some pressure off of me.

"Now the ability of my Submarineroid activates so now it switches into defense mode. Next, I'll reveal my facedown, Ring of Life so that I can destroy one face-up monster on the field, and then both me and that player gain life points equal to that monster's defense." Scootaloo now examined the field as she was trying to figure out which one she wanted to select since it would serve as the signal for who the others could go for since they would be down a monster.

Who do I choose?

"I pick... your Magician Boy!" said Scootaloo as she got rid of Isaac's monster as both players received a boost to their life points.
Isaac's Life Points: 5200-
Scootaloo's Life Points: 3600-

Excellent pick, Scootaloo. Cause by picking Applebloom you would have helped her. And with Sweetie Belle being able to special summon as many monsters as she can, she would refill her field in no time. But by choosing my Magician Boy, you took out a major threat and since the card, I laid facedown was Shift, I was gonna use it to redirect any attack to my Mage Annette to my Magician Boy. So right now, it's useless. Impressive, Scoots. You've learned so much.

"Now, I'll place one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 6: Sweetie Belle

"My draw and I'll play the spell card, Fortissimo! So now my Aria gains 800 more attack points until my next Standby Phase so it currently has 2400 attack points. Then since I control a 'Melodious' monster, I can special summon my Sonata the Melodious Diva(1200/1000)!" stated Sweetie Belle as she had another one of her monsters on the field. "And when Sonata is on my field, she gives all my monsters 500 more attack and defense points. So my Aria now has a total of 2900 attack points." stated the girl as she had a powerful monster on her field.

"Now, I'll have my Aria attack your Mage Annette," said Sweetie Belle as she had her monster take out Isaac's last line of defense as he now had a clear field.

Isaac is now wide open, so... do I risk attacking him? But then his facedown, what if it's a trap? Sweetie Belle then looked at Isaac's face as he held his expression. Sweetie Belle knew Isaac had a poker face so simply looking at him wasn't going to help her. So, she decided to take a chance.

"Alright, now I'll have Sonata attack you directly!" shouted Sweetie Belle as she gave her other monster its command and then opened her mouth as some musical notes came out as they made contact with the boy who used his duel disk to block it.
Isaac's Life Points: 3500-

"I did it," said Sweetie Belle as she was ecstatic to see she was the first person to deal her tutor a good amount of damage.

"I'll now end my turn."

Turn 7: Applebloom

"Mah turn," stated Applebloom. "And to start ah activate the effect of mah field spell, since ah control an 'Aroma' monster, ah gain 500 life points. And since ah gain life points, that in turn activates mah Aromage Bergamot's effect, since ah gained life points, he now gains an extra 1000 attack and defense points until the end of Isaac's next turn. So right now he has 3900 attack." smiled Applebloom.
Applebloom's Life Points: 3600-

"Next, ah summon mah Aromage Rosemary(1800/700)." Applebloom now had another monster on her field as she was dressed in blue clothes and had a staff in her hand as she was surrounded by some candles floating near her. "And thanks to mah field spell, she gains 500 more attack and defense points until the end of Isaac's next turn. So now, I'll attack you directly with my Aromage Bergamot!" shouted Applebloom as she gave her monster its command as he pointed his weapon at the boy and shot a fire attack as it was heading straight for the boy.

"I discard Kuriboh from my hand so that I take no damage from your attack," said Isaac calmly as he sent away his monster to the graveyard as it appeared before him as he took the attack from Applebloom's monster with ease. It soon canceled out as there stood Kuriboh without so much as sweat on its furry self.

"Thanks, buddy." said Isaac as he petted Kuriboh on his favorite spot as the tiny thing let out a happy "Kuri" sound as it then disappeared.

"I now know why AJ hates that thing," said Applebloom as she understood why her big sister would rant about Isaac and Kuriboh as the boy used the tiny thing to save himself from losing. And she had to admit, it too annoyed her. "Fine, you survived from losing this duel, but ah can still deal you damage. Aromage Rosemary yer turn to attack Isaac!" stated the girl as her other monster raised her staff and shot a pillar of water towards the boy who used his duel disk to block as he got a bit soaked from the drops that were reflected.
Isaac's Life Points: 1200-

"Ah hit Isaac with some massive damage! This is the greatest moment of mah life!" said Applebloom as she was jumping up and down with excitement as she couldn't believe she got a hit on the person who was their school's champion and was miles above their experience level.

"Applebloom?" said Isaac as he reminded the girl.

"Oh, right. Ah, end mah turn."

Turn 8: Isaac

"I'm down to the lowest life points and the girls have the advantage. What to do? Oh well." said Isaac as he drew his card and prepared to do the thing he did best. "To start, I'll place my Black Arts Trickster in the pendulum zone. Then by doing that, I can activate her pendulum effect so that I can take a different pendulum card and add it to the other zone. So I'll choose my Sorcerer Swordsman. Then since I have a spellcaster/magician in the other pendulum zone, I can raise the scale of my Black Arts Trickster from 3 to 10!" Isaac's duel disk then ejected the card he wanted as he grabbed it and place it on the other far end of his card tray as the word pendulum in rainbow coloring was spelled out in between them to signal it worked. Isaac's two monsters then appeared in front of their master in their respective columns of light.

"Pendulum cards? Uh-oh." said the three girls in unison as they knew what Isaac was going to do.

"Yup, but before I do, I'll activate my Sorcerer Swordsman's pendulum ability, now I can add monsters from my deck to my hand, so long as their levels fall in the scale I've set. So I'll take back my Mage Annette and Magician Boy," stated Isaac as his duel disk ejected his cards from the graveyard slot as he grabbed both of them. "Now then let's get to it, I'm allowed to summon monsters between Level 2 through 9 all at the same time! Back and forth, to and fro, what's coming next? You'll all soon know! So swing far pendulum and carve the arc that will lead me to victory. My monsters are ready to swing into action!" shouted Isaac as he had two lights come out. "Presenting the kid duo who always has each other's backs. It's my Magician Boy and Mage Annette!" Isaac's kid magicians were back in play as the pair were happy to be back in the game.

"And by summoning Mage Annette, I can draw an extra card. Then I'll play Kuribandit(1000/700), but he won't be sticking around for long, cause by tributing him, I can reveal the top five cards of my deck and then add any spell or trap cards to my hand while any monsters are sent to the graveyard. Time to see what I got." stated Isaac as he picked up his cards as his duel disk projected his options for the three girls to see.

"I reveal Emergency Provisions, Spellbinding Circle, Magical Dimension, Ricochet, and Dark Illusion. Since all five are spell or trap cards, they're all added to my hand. Next, I'll use one of them right away, my Magical Dimension so that I tribute my Mage Annette to summon an even mighty sorcerer to take her place, my Dark Magician!" shouted Isaac as he now managed to summon his ace monster as the girls were a bit intimated at what he could potentially do. "By doing so, I can now destroy one monster on the field, so I choose your Aromage Bergamot." stated the boy as his spell took out Applebloom's powerful monster.

"So cool," said Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo as they acted like fangirls to Isaac's action.

"Hey!!" shouted Applebloom as it got everybody's attention. "Why me? I thought I was yer favorite CMC."

"Favorite?!" said the other two as they were angry that Applebloom would go there as they felt they were Isaac's favorite of the trio.

"I said, maybe," stated Isaac to Applebloom.

"Well, mah field spell activates, since you destroyed mah Aromage Bergamot, I gain 1000 life points."
Applebloom's Life Points: 4600-

"Now, I'll play the card I got, Magic Formula to raise the attack points of my Dark Magician by 700!" said the boy as he had his magician get more powerful. "Now, Dark Magician take out Aria!" Isaac gave his command as his most loyal servant fired his staff at Sweetie Belle's monster as her monster was taken out.
Sweetie Belle's Life Points: 2000-

"Hey!" said Sweetie Belle as she didn't like being targeted.

"Heh, heh." snickered Scootaloo.

"Oh, I didn't forget about you Scoots," said Isaac.

"Oh no." said the girl as she immediately lost her laugh.

"Next, I'll play the spell Ricochet, so now I can bounce a monster on your field back to your hand, and then I can add a card from my deck to my hand." Isaac then grabbed a card from his hand and shot it out at fast speed as it made contact with Scootaloo's Submarineroid as it was then gone and then came back at Isaac who caught his card with one hand while giving a badass look.

"Hey!" shouted Scootaloo as it was her turn to be annoyed as the other two snickered.

"Now, I'll have my Magician Boy attack your Sonata Melodious Diva!" stated Isaac as he had his boy magician fire his staff at Sweetie Belle's monster as her monster fired a soundwave that repelled the attack. "And as you know any damage that would take with my Magician Boy, you take instead."
Sweetie Belle's Life Points: 1800-

"Then my Magician Boy's other effect activates, so now I destroy one monster on my opponent's side of the field and they take damage equal to its attack points. And I choose Aromage Rosemary!" stated Isaac as his kid magician now turned his attention towards Applebloom and he fired another powerful spell as it took out her monster and dealt some major damage.
Applebloom's Life Points: 2400-

"Well, mah field spell allows me to gain 1000 life points when mah monster leaves the field." stated the farm girl.
Applebloom's Life Points: 3400-

"Now, then I'll end with two cards facedown."

And just like that, Isaac was in control of this duel despite having the lowest life points. For the girls, this was the true mark of what made a great duelist. Being able to fight back, use his cards to their full advantage, trust in them, and then cover all of his bases from all angles and take the lead in a duel. This was what they need to show, this was what they needed to do if they truly wanted to show they could carry on their legacy of the person they admired and create their own. This truly was their mark of mastery exam.

"Show me!" stated Isaac as he held his hand out and did a "Come on" gesture to the trio as he wanted to see if they could hang with the master.

Turn 9: Scootaloo

"My turn then!" shouted the girl as she was fired up by Isaac's challenge. "Since I'm the only one without any monsters, I can special summon... Cyber Dragon(2100/1600)!" shouted the girl as she summoned a new monster that she added to her deck as it was a machine dragon as it let out a roar.

"When did you get that?!" shouted Applebloom and Sweetie Belle as they were surprised while Isaac smiled.

"Then I summon my Cyber Dragon Drei(1800/800)." Scootaloo played another new card to her deck as she was willing to push past her limits. "And with his effect, he makes all monsters named 'Cyber Dragon' level 5. With that done,... I'll overlay my two Level 5 Cyber Dragons to build the Overlay Network!" shouted the girl as both of her monsters turned into orbs of light as they hovered in the air for a bit as a portal opened up in front of her. Soon both orbs of light entered the portal as a pillar of light emerged. "I Xyz Summon, Cyber Dragon Nova(2100/1600, OLU: 2)!!" A new monster was shown off my Scootaloo as it was a metal dragon as it had some bits of gold running along its body and its wingspan as it had a chest plate and let out a huge roar.

"Then I'll play Pot of Greed so that I can draw two more cards. Next, I'll place one card facedown. And to finish off my turn, I'll have my Cyber Dragon Nova attack Applebloom directly!" stated Scootaloo as her dragon then fired a powered attack as it was charged up and let loose on the girl.

"Ah reveal mah facedown, Blessed Winds! So by payin' 1000 life points, ah can special summon mah Aromage Rosemary in defense mode." stated the small farm girl as she managed to avoid losing some major points.
Applebloom's Life Points: 2400-

"So be it, I'll just take out your monster," said Scootaloo as her monster continued its attack and took out Applebloom's monster.

"I end my turn."

Turn 10: Sweetie Belle

"My turn, and I'll play the spell card Polymerization so that I can fuse my Tamtam the Melodious Diva and my Shopina the Melodious Maestra!" Sweetie Belle had both of her monsters appear before her as they were sucked in through a vortex as a pillar of light shined through. "I Fusion Summon, Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir(1000/2000)!" stated the girl as one of her powerful monsters appeared in a flower bud as it unveiled to be a part of her dress as it let out a sweet singing voice. "Then since I used Opera my monster loses 500 points, but I get to deal 500 points of damage. And I choose you, Isaac." said the small girl as some music notes collided with Isaac as he raised his duel disk.
Isaac's Life Points: 700-

"Now to finish you off, Bloom Diva attack Isaac's Dark Magician. And as you know when it battles a special summoned monster, you take the damage instead of me. So you lose!" stated Sweetie Belle as she was about to knock her friend and teacher from the duel.

"I reveal my facedown, Spellbinding Circle. So now your Bloom Diva loses 700 attack points and it puts the brakes on her attack," said Isaac as his facedown flipped up.

"I came prepared, cause I reveal my facedown, Melodious Illusion! So now my Bloom Diva is unaffected by your spell and trap cards." countered Sweetie Belle as she managed to stop Isaac's trap.

"Well, I counter yours with mine. Dark Illusion!" said Isaac as his other facedown flipped up. "With this, I can negate and destroy your Melodious Illusion, so that means my Spellbinding Circle takes effect," stated Isaac as he got rid of Sweetie Belle's card and then had a magical circle swirling around her monster as it stopped its attack.

"So be it, but I can still attack and this time, Sonata is gonna attack Applebloom directly!" shouted the pale girl as she had her monster now go after her best friend.

"From my hand, I discard mah Aromaseraphy Angelica!" said Applebloom as her tiny monster appeared and had a small scented candle appear in front of her. "Now ah can target one 'Aroma' monster in mah graveyard and then ah gain life points equal to its attack, so ah choose my Aromage Bergamot!" said the girl as she boosted her points.
Applebloom's Life Points: 4800-

Sweetie Belle's monster then fired a soundwave full of musical notes as she hit the small farm girl and lost some of the points she got.
Applebloom's Life Points: 3100-

"Nice move, AB," said Sweetie Belle. "I now end my turn, take it away."

Turn 11: Applebloom

"With pleasure, my draw!" said Applebloom as she looked at her friend's field and how they each had a monster from each of the known summoning methods. And now it was her turn to contribute and show how far she'd come since they all met Isaac and learned under him.

"First off, I'm activatin' the effect of mah Blessed Winds, so by sendin' mah Aromage Laurel to the graveyard, ah can gain 500 life points. But Laurel also has his effect, when he's sent to the graveyard, ah awarded 500 more life points. So that's 1000 right off the bat!" stated Applebloom.
Applebloom's Life Points: 4100-

"Then I'm playing Pot of Greed so that ah can draw two more cards. Next, up I'm playin' Monster Reborn so that I can bring back my Aromage Rosemary. Then since ah have more life points, and ah control an 'Aroma' monster on mah field, ah can also bring back mah Aromaseraphy Angelica!" said Applebloom as her tiny monster also appeared next to her comrade. "With that done, I'll now tune my Level 1 Aromaseraphy Angelica with my Level 4 Aromage Rosemary!" shouted the girl as her tiny monster turned into a single giant green ring as it circled Aromage Rosemary. "I Synchro Summon, Aromaseraphy Rosemary(2000/900)!" Applebloom had now completed the trio as she had a synchro monster on her field as out came her monster as it wore a cute blue outfit. "Now, I'll activate the effect of mah Aroma Garden field spell, so since ah control an 'Aroma' monster, ah gain 500 more life points, and mah monster gains 500 more points to both of its stats!"
Applebloom's Life Points: 4600-

"Then ah activate Aromaseraphy Rosemary's special ability, since ah gained life points, ah can negate the effect of a faceup card on yer side of the field. So ah choose yer Magician Boy! And mah monster's ability allows it to gain 500 more attack and defense points when mah life points are higher." said Applebloom as her monster now had 3000 attack strength. "Then ah activate mah Imperial Custom! So now all you can't destroy all of my faceup continuous trap cards by battle or card effect except by getting rid of Imperial Custom first." said the girl.

"And with that ah attack yer Magician Boy to take you out!" shouted Applebloom as her monster pointed its weapon at Isaac's tiny magician and prepared to end the boy.

Isaac stood there with a smile on his face as he saw each of the girls. Each one of them had a monster from the known summoning methods. And to think that three years ago when he first met the trio after the Fall Formal where he became champion, they were just beginners, no more did they know how to barely fusion summon. And yet through all that time, he was willing to help them in his spare time. All of his patience, training, and improving every aspect of their deck had all led them to this moment, where each proved they were ready to follow in the footsteps of their role models and not only continue the foundation, but make it their own.

"Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow... the girls are ready," said Isaac.

"We did it!" shouted the girls.

"Not yet! From my hand, I activate the spell, Trick Room! Now by cutting my life points in half, I don't take any damage this turn." said Isaac as Applebloom's attack made contact with his Magician Boy as it was taken out.
Isaac's Life Points: 350-

"Then every other card on my field is destroyed!" said Isaac as he got rid of his Dark Magician, Magic Formula, and his facedown. "And since Magic Formula was destroyed, I gain 1000 life points."
Isaac's Life Points: 1350-

"But why get rid of your entire field?!" asked Scootaloo.

"Cause the final effect of Trick Room allows me to draw one card for everyone that was destroyed this turn. Impressive, right!!" said Isaac.

"He just pulled off a triple draw?!" said the girls as they were shocked by what Isaac did.

Turn 12: Isaac

"By replenishing my hand, countless more strategic opportunities are available to me!" said Isaac as he looked at the girls with each of their monsters. "You did well girls, you've passed." stated the boy as the small ones got smiles and tears in their eyes.

"But I am still your teacher and it's time I school you all with one final lesson! I play Magician Fusion Gate! This spell lets me fusion summon using monsters in my graveyard or Extra Deck, and I can also use this spell to substitute for a fusion material! So I'll use it with my Dark Magician!" Isaac's spell and his magician both turned into lights as they entered a vortex behind him as everybody was seeing what he was doing. "I Fusion Summon, unite to form my Lychinus Enchanter(2800/2500, Level 8, Scale 1)!" said Isaac as he now had his fusion pendulum hybrid monster on the field. Out came a male adult magician who wore a bycocket(robin hood hat) on his head as he wore a black cape and a magician's robe with the sleeves cut off as in his left hand was a staff that was the same height as him and in his belt there was a small dagger as his outfit consisted of yellow, red, and black, with a hit of silver as he wore boots.

"But I'm not done, cause next I activate Magician Synchro Gate! Now I can synchro summon using monsters in my graveyard or Extra Deck and this spell then turns into a tuner monster so I'll tune it with my Dark Magician!" Isaac's spell card then turned into two giant rings as they circled Isaac's monster as another new monster was emerging as it was a pendulum synchro monster. "And the one I choose is a scorcher, I Synchro Summon, arise Solis Witch(3000/2700, Level 9, Scale 10)!" The new monster was an adult female who had light blue hair and eyes, a slim figure with ample breasts, long legs, wide hips and blue waist-long hair that is partially tied into a loop with a spherical clip. She wore a sleeveless dark-blue feather dress with white trimmings, an extremely short dark blue miniskirt, a green bow around her chest with a blue gem in the middle, a translucent purple underskirt and detached white sleeves with blue and golden trimmings. She wore thigh-high blue heeled boots over white stockings with blue trimmings. Around her neck was a pendant as it was in the shape of a rune as used her magic and made an axe appear in her hand as it shined with relic symbols on it as elemental symbols appeared above her and infused her weapon.

"Huh?" said the girls.

"And calling on the power of Xyz, I activate Magician Xyz Gate! So I now I can summon monsters from my graveyard and/or Extra Deck. So I'll summon my Mage Annette and Magician Boy and then my spell changes one of my monsters to have the same level as another monster so now my Magician Boy is Level 4 like my Mage Annette. And then I'll overlay them to build the Overlay Network!" Isaac's two monsters then turned into dark orbs of light as they hovered in the air as a portal opened up in front of him as the orbs entered and then a pillar of light emerged as it was a pendulum Xyz monster. "I Xyz Summon, ride the wind, Ventus Oraculum(3500/2900, Rank 4, Scale 3, OLU: 2)!!" The last of Isaac's trio was a kid who looked to be 13 years old as he held a javelin-like spear as it too was infused with magic, he then brought his fingers to mouth as he let out a whistle as his pet wyvern appeared from the sky as he jumped on it and raised his weapon as it let out a roar. The kid had a small red cape, wore a kid magician hat colored purple as he wore a magician outfit with shades of dark red with green outlines and shade as there was hints of yellow.

"Woah!" said the three small girls looking at Isaac's new monsters up close and personal.

"Now when my Solis Witch is summoned, I can negate the effects of all special summoned monsters on my opponents and drop their attack opponents to zero!" said Isaac as his female magician raised her axe as the elemental symbols powered up as she did a slash attack as it hit all of the CMC's monsters as they all appeared weak.

"Our monsters?!" said the girls in unison.

"Now I activate Ventus Oraculum's ability, by using one overlay unit, you guys can't use any spells or traps during the battle phase!" said Isaac as his kid magician lifted his spear high as he pointed it up high as he stopped all of the facedowns, that the CMC had on the field. "Then I'll activate my Lychinus Enchanter's ability, now once per turn, I can deal you damage equal to a magician in my graveyard. So I'll choose my Dark Magician and target Applebloom!" said Isaac as his third magician pointed his staff and shot a powerful spell as it hit the small girl.
Applebloom's Life Points: 2100-

"Now Lychinus Enchanter attack Bloom Dive the Melodious Choir! Solis Witch take out Aromaseraphy Rosemary! And lastly, Ventus Oraculum take our Cyber Dragon Nova!" commanded Isaac. His Lychinus Enchanter then pointed his staff at Sweetie Belle and her monster as it shot a powerful spell that made the field have cracks as it made contact. Soli Witch then powered up her axe with the element symbols on it as she tossed it as hard as she could as it was sent flying into Applebloom's monster. And as for Ventus Oraculum, he flew over toward Cyber Dragon Nova and then jumped out of his seat as his wyvern fired an attack as did Cyber Dragon Nova as the two attacks met in the middle, while the teen monster boy powered up his javelin and then threw it right at the heart of the monster as it was met with a double team as destroyed.

"AHH!!!" shouted the girls as they were all thrown onto their backs.
Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo's Life Points: 0-
Winner: Isaac.

The duel ended as the field returned to normal. Isaac's pendulum hybrid monsters appeared before the boy as they gave thumbs up. Isaac returned the gesture by high-fiving each of them as they returned to his deck. He then approached the girls as they all lay next to each other. While they saw Isaac standing there, they expected him to be upset with them losing, but he was smiling.

"You're ready," said Isaac as he helped each of them up and then bent down on a knee to their eye level. "All the study sessions we had with each other, every time I took out of my busy schedule to teach you all the basics of dueling. And then teaching you all the advanced stuff. You've proved it in our duel. The time has come for me and the girls to move on, so we need someone to pick up where we left off. And I couldn't be more proud who they left it in." stated the boy as he looked at each one of them.

"You mean..." started Sweetie Belle.

"... we..." said Scootaloo
.
"You passed and receive your mark of mastery." smiled the boy.

"We did it! CMC! CMC! CMC!" chanted the trio as they put their hands in together and we're excited.

"Good luck girls, the road ahead is going to be tough. But remember all that I taught you, and... I hope if I do forget you three, you can at least remember who I once was." said Isaac as he put his head down.
Isaac then felt a pair of arms around his neck as Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo embraced him.

"We won't ever forget you," stated Sweetie Belle.

"Thanks for teaching us, even if at times we were impatient on getting better," said Scootaloo.

"We'll miss you, Isaac."

"I'll miss you too, girls," said Isaac as he rubbed each of their heads. He then saw Applebloom as she had her head down. "Applebloom, what's wrong?"

"I... just... don't want to say goodbye. I... you say that we'll forget you, but I can't. You were like a big brother to me." said the girl as she cried.

"Hey, chin. No tears," said Isaac as he approached the girl and bent down. He then lifted her chin as he looked at her face and wiped away the water from her eyes. "Come on, I can't have my favorite CMC down in the dumps."

"I'm yer favorite?"

"Yes."

"Ah knew it!" said the girl as she wrapped her arms around Isaac and knocked him to the floor as she nuzzled her cheek against his face.

"HEY!!" said Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo as they felt a bit left out.

"Suckers," said Applebloom while sticking her tongue out at her friends for being Isaac's favorite of the trio.

She then went back to hugging the teen boy as she wanted one last embrace before he was gone in a few days. The others soon joined in as they too were sad as Isaac and the others would graduate in just a matter of days. Isaac just smiled as he hugged all three of them. He then gave each of them a kiss on the foreheads as he was looking forward to how the girls would turn out when they got older.

The hour passed as the girls and their students were awaiting Isaac and the results from the Board. Soon he entered the room as everybody went silent. Isaac didn't waste any time as he started to speak.

"I have the results in my hand. Now... I told you all that winning or losing your duel doesn't necessarily mean much. However, it does account for something. Now I gave the Board of Education some rubrics to follow so that they could grade each of your performances based on several different categories. And with that, we all added up the results and got the percentages. So here they are... Lucky Star the Board gave you a 78%, Penny with a 75%. Jack, for a beginner not bad, but... there still is work, overall an 82%. Bryant, scoring a 77%. Jason received a 79%. Amber scored an 85% which is the highest of the group, and Shadow.. getting an 80%. Now those are your scores, but I was strict when it came to a certain section of my rubric. And so I handled all seven of you in that portion of the exam. And so the final score when averaged out was a 79.4%... and the passing mark... was a 75%." stated Isaac.

"So... that means..." stated Twilight.

"Congratulations to you all. You passed the exam, but more importantly, the Board has approved my program for CHS," said Isaac as that got everybody to let out a huge cheer as Pinkie had one of her trusty party cannons out and pulled the string as confetti came out.

"We did it!!" shouted the students as they all shared some high fives and fist bumps with each other.

Everything has gone according to plan, I'm glad. And now... it's time I go away... forever. Isaac now turned to leave the girls and the students to celebrate as he had his head down with his cap over his eyes. Time for me to leave... and... to forget... so long everyone. Isaac had a small tear fall down his cheek as it made contact with a small flower as it fell over.
