Chapter 93: Thorns

The forest was so big and full of vibrant colors; despite being trapped in a virtual world, it did have some perks. One thing is that the noise and the call of nature created a soothing atmosphere. And it seemed to be working as a certain blond-haired girl was currently sitting up against a tree as she looked out.

"Sure is pretty, but ah can't help but miss the real world. My kin, heck even Applebloom." Applejack was starting to clutch her heart as she thought of the possibility that she may be stuck in this place forever. "Ah hope everybody is doin' ok. Well, better get movin'."

Applejack was now walking through the forest as she hoped that it would lead to somewhere; she had been walking for what seemed like hours but given that they didn't know how time worked in this place, it could may have well been just a few minutes. She kept on walking as she needed to find her friends and hopefully they found a way to escape this place. Eventually, the forest around her started to fade as it was now transition into a harbor. Applejack noticed the change in scenario as she saw tons of warehouses, a few piers, and the huge stretch of water.

"Maybe there's someone who can help me." Applejack then began to look around. Unbeknownst to her, there was a camera that was watching her every move.

The Gamemaster was looking at the screen as they saw Applejack wondering about. "Hmm... What's a girl like you doing to begin here in the first place? To think that this is one of the people that Isaac chose to befriend. Well, let's see what she's made of." The Gamemaster then pushed a button as he sent a couple of minions to deal with Applejack. "A little science experiment to see if this country gal is all that. And I'll allow you to use your cards temporary."

"Ah swear, there's nobody here." said Applejack as she was looking around the different warehouses. She even checked inside to see if there was somebody to help, but they all came up empty. Some of the warehouses had a couple of machines and automobiles, but no sign of anyone.

"Well, I got nothing. What about you all?" asked Isaac.

"Nothing on our end." said Twilight as she came back with Sunset.

"Dead end." said Fluttershy accompanied by Pinkie Pie.

"Doesn't seem to anything in here that could give us a clue." said Spike as he returned with Rarity.

"Come on guys, there's gotta be a way out of here." exclaimed Isaac.

After the girl's duel, everybody was trying to find a way out of this factory. Seeing as how the door they used to get here was long gone, they looked around the place in hopes of finding another exit. However, there didn't seem to be one.

"It's hopeless." whined Rarity.

"We've been through worst, we can't let something like this get us down. I'm sure there's an exit, we just need to keep looking." stated Sunset.

"Uhm, you mean like that." Spike was now pointing at a door that appeared in front of them.

"That wasn't there before." said Fluttershy as she was scared.

"I'm guessing the Gamemaster is trying to lead us into another one of their games." suggested Isaac.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" said Pinkie as she bounced over to the door.

"Pinkie, wait!!!" shouted everybody.

Pinkie already had opened the door when the group tried to stop her, a bright light then caused everybody to shield their eyes. When it died down, they were now standing in what appeared to be a dock. They could see the water from the piers and noticed a couple of warehouses in front of them.

"Well the good news is that we're no longer trapped in there." smiled Pinkie.

"The bad news is that we have no idea where we are." stated Spike.

"Well, let's look around. Maybe we can find the others and possibly the Gamemaster." suggested Isaac. Everybody all nodded as they all broke off into pairs and began to explore their new surroundings.

"That's the fifth one I've check and still nothin'." Applejack had been checking each warehouse, but still came up emptyhanded, "Maybe the others are already long gone. Maybe I'm the only one that hasn't made it out." Applejack then continued walking, but she didn't get far as there was several figures that landed in front of here.

The figures that were in front of Applejack were the Gamemaster's minions. More specifically, there were The Rock Spirit monster card and there was five of them. They all gave Applejack an intimidating look.

"Who are y'all?" Applejack got into a ready stance.

"Look here brothers, we've got a girl who seems to be lost." said Rock Spirit #1.

"You mean she's afraid and all alone. Doesn't seem to have any friends." said spirit #2.

"Ah got friends!" stated Aj.

"Then where are they? Oh, that's right. They've abandoned you." snickered spirit #3.

"I wouldn't blame them, if I hung out with a someone as hillybilly as her, I would want to stay far away before I lost my brain cells." stated spirit #4.

"You say somethin', partner! Why don't you come over here, and I'll glad shove mah boot where the sun don't shine." said Applejack as she cracked her knuckles to show she meant business and wasn't being intimidated.

"Seems the cowgirl wants to fight, well we have our orders from the boss." said spirit #5. Soon all of them had their duel disks appear before them as they each slotted in their decks.

"So y'all want to tussle. Fine by me, mess with the bull you get the horns." Applejack then activated her duel disk as her deck appeared in front of her as she slotted it in and her duel disk projected a green card tray.

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said the duel disks.

Applejack's Life Points: 8000-

Rock Spirits' Life Points: 8000-

Turn 1: Applejack

"I'll start, draw. Ah begin by summonin' Predaplant Squid Drosera. Next ah activate the continuous spell card, Predaponics. This allows me to grow another Predaplant; take root Predaplant Moray Nepenthes!" Applejack now had two Predaplant monsters on her field. "Ah hope y'all can summon some delicious monsters for mah flowers to munch on cause they're famished." said Applejack with a smug tone.

Turn 2: Rock Spirit #1

"Oh really," said The Rock Spirit as he drew his card. "I'm gonna whack those weeds of yours with the help of Polymerization. I fuse together Drillroid, Steamroid, and Submarineroid; I fusion summon, Super Vehicroid Jumbo Drill(3000/2000) in attack mode!"

"That's mighty big critter for you." stated Applejack.

Turn 3: Rock Spirit #2

"It's my turn," Rock Spirit then drew its card as it had a smile on its face. "Just like my brother, I'm also activating Polymerization and using it to fuse Big Koala and Des Kangaroo." Both monsters then combined as they entered a vortex as out came a brand new monster. "I fusion summon, the thunder from down under, Master of Oz(4200/3700) in attack mode! This king of the ring has got a one-two punch that will send your mind to be trapped here forever."

"Ah like to see you try!" shouted back Applejack.

Turn 4: Rock Spirit #3

"You talk a big game but me and my pals are gonna mow down you and your pathetic posies. It's time to do some landscaping," said Rock Spirit #3 as he drew his card. "And I think I'll cut to the chase by playing Polymerization!"

"Another one?" said Applejack.

"I'll give you the royal treatment by fusing my three Ojama brothers; I fusion summon, make way for the king of the kini, Ojama King(0/3000) in defense mode!" Out came a huge monster as it wore a cape, a crown and, a kini.

"You king needs a little sun and lotta towel!" said Applejack as she insulted her opponent's monster.

"You might be laughing now, but once Ojama King uses his special ability to have his flunkies occupy three spots on your field, your laughs might turn to cries." Soon Applejack now had the three Ojama brothers on her field as they all looked at her.

"Well, these three lookers might make those tears a reality." said Applejack as she didn't like the appearances of the monsters.

Turn 5: Rock Spirit #4

"My turn, I draw! V-Tiger Jet(1600/1800), it's time to pounce and play!" Out came a mechanical tiger as it let out a growl. "And then I'll activate the spell Frontline Base, so I can summon W-Wing Catapult(1300/1500)!" Now there were two monsters that had a similar name. "Now by banishing V-Tiger Jet and W-Wing Catapult, I can fuse them together without using Polymerization." Both monsters then began to transform as they merged their bodies and created a brand new monster. "I Fusion summon, VW-Tiger Catapult(2000/2100)!"

"Hmm, an unexpected turn of events. Ah at least appreciate you keeping things fresh and lively. Ah was beginnin' to get bored of watchin' y'all do the same thing over and over again." said Applejack with a taunting tone.

"Then it's a good thing that me and my pals are chock full of surprises." snickered the Rock Spirit #4. "For now, I place one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 6: Rock Spirit #5

"I'm up next! And I'm summoning X-Head Cannon(1800/1500)! Then I'll activate Frontline Base like my brother did, so I can summon Y-Dragon Head(1500/1600)! I activate Foolish Burial to send Z-Metal Tank to the graveyard!" The Rock Spirit then send his monster to the graveyard, "And I'll top those moves off by activating the spell Iron Call! It lets me roll out Z-Metal Tank(1500/1300) from my graveyard onto my field! With X, Y, and Z out and about, my next move is as simple as A-B-C!"

"Oh no." stated Applejack.

"I combine them to form XYZ-Dragon Cannon(2800/2600)!" All three machines then merged together as they formed an even more powerful monster. "Taking you down is gonna be a piece of cake! So I'll open the way for us to win by using XYZ-Dragon Cannon's special ability! By discarding one card from my hand, my cannon prunes your Moray Nepenthes!" XYZ-Dragon Cannon then aimed its weapons at Applejack's monster and then it opened fired as it blasted away her monster.

"I'm activating the trap card, Fellow's Gift!" exclaimed Rock Spirit #4. "That way I can give control of VW-Tiger Catapult to my brother!"

"Way to go, bro!" said Rock Spirit #5. "I banish VW-Tiger Catapult and XYZ-Dragon Cannon so I can Fusion Summon, V-to-Z Dragon Catapult Cannon(3000/2800)!" Once more all the machines began to morph for the final time as they created a huge battle mech as it looked to end Applejack.

"Ugh, impressive! If ah liked buildin' model robots." said Applejack.

"Well, this robot isn't about to toy around! Catapult Cannon blast that Squid Drosera back to the greenhouse!" commanded Rock Spirit #5. X-to-Z Dragon Catapult Cannon then fired its cannons at Applejack's monster as it blasted it and banished it from the duel. "So much for your flower power. Me and my bro whittled away all your pesky petunias!" snickered Rock Spirit #5 as he laughed. He was soon joined by the other as they all laughed at how helpless Applejack was.

Soon Applejack began to smile as it caused all of The Rock Spirits to stop laughing.

"What are you smiling at, cowgirl?" asked Rock Spirit #1.

"You think you got rid of mah flowers. Please, they'll be sproutin' back in no time because they're tough little things like me, Also it's thanks to mah Squid Drosera! When it leaves the field, its special ability unleashes Predator Counters, which latch onto each of yer monsters!" Soon tiny Predaplant Counter appeared as they went sent flying and each sunk their teeth into the monsters owned by The Rock Spirits.

"Yeah? So what?" said all The Rock Spirits in unison.

"Oh y'all see. So, hurry up and end yer turn!" shouted Applejack. "Because ah got a little surprise to share with y'all!"

"Eager to lose? Then go-- we're not scared of you! There's nothing you can do." stated Rock Spirit #5 as he ended his turn.

Turn 7: Applejack

"But you will be." said Applejack as she drew her card. "That's a promise! As mah first step, by givin' up 800 life points, ah can activate mah spell card Predaponics. Now ah can bring back mah Moray Nepenthes from mah graveyard! And joinin' it will be mah Predaplant Fly Trap! Now time for me to do what y'all did. With the power of Polymerization, ah fuse Nepenthes and Fly Trap in order to bring out the most toxic monster ever seen! Y'all never look at greenery the same way again! Ah Fusion Summon, the vicious, voracious and venomous... Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!" Applejack now had one of her ace monsters as it appeared by its master's side.
Applejack's Life Points: 7200-

Applejack's monster caused The Rock Spirits to be frighten a bit as they took in her dragon.

"Scared? Well, trust when ah say it's goin' to get a lot worse!" said Applejack as she had a smug smile on her face. "You see, it preys on all yer monsters, feastin' on their attack points to increase its own." Applejack's dragon then began to open its several plant-like mouths that were its wings.

"What's that?" said Rock Spirit #1 in disbelief.

"If it gains that much power--" started Rock Spirit #2.

"There's no way of stopping that thing!" shouted Rock Spirit #5.

Starving Venom Fusion Dragon then opened its wings as it appeared all the power from its opponents as its stats rose.

"13,000 attack points? That's the strongest dragon I've ever seen!" said Rock Spirit #4 as he was shaking.

Applejack had a smile when she noticed her monster looking back at her. Nothing was said as both duelist and monster just stared at one another; both kept a calm and focused look. Then Starving Venom Fusion Dragon used its tongue as it licked Applejack as it left her covered in salvia and her hair was all wet. Applejack was stunned with how her monster chose to show its affection towards its mistress.

"Ah reckon you want them down too, right boy?" Applejack's response was met with a roar which was a good enough answer for her. "All right then," she said as she fixed her Stenson hat, "Also, never mess with the hat again or else I'll bring out weed killer!" Seems Applejack's threat got the message through as her dragon let out a whimper. Despite being big and bad, it still knew not to make its mistress upset and it seemed Applejack wasn't playing around. She then turned her attention back to the duel.

"Now Starving Venom Fusion Dragon can use one of yer monster's special abilities. And I'm choosin' yer thrillin' drillin' Jumbo Drill!" said Applejack as she pointed.

"Uh, no way, I've never heard of such a thing!" whimpered Rock Spirit #1.

"Starving Venom Fusion Dragon can now deal y'all damage even if yer monster is in defense mode! I'll start with the most vulnerable-- you, the one with no monsters!" Applejack was pointing at Rock Spirit #4. "Starving Venom Dragon, strike him down!" Applejack's Dragon then used its tail as it whipped it across the field and took out its target.
Rock Spirit #4's Life Points: 0-

"Next, by sendin' another of mah Squid Drosera to the graveyard, mah Dragon must attack every monster that had a Predator Counter. But believe me, it needs no coaxin'! It's feedin' time." Applejack's dragon then unleashed its wings as it opened up to reveal a set of jaws and ate Jumbo Drill.

"Aah!" Rock Spirit #1 was sent flying as it's life points dropped.
Rock Spirit #1's Life Points: 0-

"Next, KO that featherweight." Applejack's dragon then used its other wing as another set of jaws came out and gobbled up Master of OZ.

"Aah!" Rock Spirit #2 was now sent flying.
Rock Spirit #2's Life Points: 0-

"Dethrone the pale one." said Applejack. Her dragon then did the same as it ate up Ojama King.

"Aah!" Just like before Rock Spirit #3 was now defeated.
Rock Spirit #3's Life Points: 0-

"And last but not least, lay waste to that Catapult Cannon." Starving Venom Dragon then powered up as it used its wings to unleash all the powered it stored up as it fired it at its target.

"Aah!" said the last Rock Spirit as he was thrown for a loop. Soon all of them were defeated as they disappeared.
Rock Spirit #5's Life Points: 0-

Winner: Applejack

"That's game." said Applejack. She then looked back at her dragon as it let out a victory roar. "Good job, partner."

Staring Venom Dragon then used one of its vines and gave Applejack a high five, it then gave her one last lick as it showed its affection for Applejack before disappearing.

"Looks like I'm gonna need a shower after all this." said Applejack as she cleaned herself from the salvia of her monster.

"Impressive. Now I know why Isaac has a cowgirl like you in his merry band."

Applejack turned around to see who was talking and once she did, she got her answer. Standing in front of her was known other than the Gamemaster, this time they had taken the form of Gigaplant.

"Ahh, what is that?" said Applejack as she was startled by the thing she saw in front of her.

"Seems you carry a sort green thumb when it comes to plants and dueling. I must say you impressed me more than I expected against my minions." said Gigaplant.

"Minions? Then that means..."

"Of course you're still a dumb blonde." chuckled Gigaplant. "In case you haven't figured out, I'm the Gamemaster and it's time for your test." The Gamemaster had a duel disk made up of its own vines as it looked to challenge Applejack. "Now then, let's see you can take down this killer weed."

"I've been itchin' to get mah hands on you. Once ah beat you, I'm gettin' out of here." stated Aj.

"That's assuming you can handle me and my killer plants. Cause let me assure you that even the most delicate of flowers have the deadliest of thorns. Now then it's time to construct your deck. Just simply touch the cards you so desire." stated the Gamemaster.

"So ah build mah own deck, fascinatin'". said Applejack as she saw the cards in front of her. "Well like they say sometimes the simple stuff is always the best thing." Applejack then began to select the cards she wanted as she focused on building her team. "All done." With that Applejack's virtual deck appeared in her hands as she looked at it.

"Now choose a monster to serve as your Deck Master."

"Well alright, hmm. Ah choose to have this nifty rascal, Lord Poison!" Applejack now had her monster appear next to her.

"And as for me, I'll be acting as my own, so say hello to Gigaplant." roared the Gamemaster as it let out bits of spit that Applejack had to dodge. "Now then let the game begin."

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.

Applejack's Life Points: 8000-

Gigaplant's Life Points: 8000-

Turn 1: Gigaplant

"I'll start things off, and what better way than with this delicate rose. I summon Witch of the Black Rose(1700/1000). Now when Witch of the Black Rose is summoned, I can draw a card and if it's not a monster then my witch is destroyed. I draw," Gigaplant drew its card as it had a smile on its face as it teeth showed. "I've drawn my Rose Fairy(600/1200). And since I added Rose Fairy to my hand from way of an effect, I can summon it to the field." Now the Gamemaster had two monsters out as it shot an evil smile at Applejack.

"You may have gotten two monsters, but they're still weak." shouted Applejack.

"Then pay close attention, redneck. Cause Witch of the Black Rose isn't just a monster, it's a tuner!"

"Tuner! Then that means..."

"I tune level 4 Witch of the Black Rose with my level 3 Rose Fairy!" Both monsters then merged as they combined their powers and allowed an even greater creature to appear. "I Synchro Summon, Black Rose Moonlight Dragon(2400/1800)!!!" Out came a fierce dragon as it had thorns and had a coat made up of beautiful red rose petals; it let out a screech as Aj looked on. "I'll then place one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 2: Applejack

"'Bout time, mah turn," Applejack drew her card as she began to decide her opening move, "Ah summon mah Predaplant Pterapenthes(300/2100) in defense mode. Then ah play mah Predaponics which allows me to call on mah Predaplant Spinodionaea(1800/0) in attack mode. Come out little buddy." Applejack now had two little plant-like dinosaurs as they showed off their deadly set of jaws. The creature then looked at Aj as they made their way to her feet; Applejack was a bit hesitant at what her monsters were going to do, but they just simply rubbed against her legs as they showed their affection for their caretaker. "So, y'all are just misunderstood critters," said Applejack as she bent down and petted her monsters while avoiding their jaws. "Well don't you worry, ah take good care of mah plants and monsters, now then I'll set one card facedown and end mah turn."

Turn 3: Gigaplant

"My draw, now to activate my Deck Master's ability. Since I've taken the form of Gigaplant, I can special summon 1 Insect or Plant type monster from my hand or graveyard, so I play Queen Angel of Roses(2400/1300)." Out came a monster that had a dress and wings made up of rose petals and wielded a sword. "Next, I summon the tuner monster Rose Girl(800/600)." A girl then came out as she was holding a rose that was the same size as her. "And since I have a tuner monster, I can also summon this monster from my hand, Dark Rose Fairy(800/1000)." The Gamemaster now had three monsters on its field.

"Now I tune my Level 3 Rose Girl with my level 2 Dark Rose Fairy, I Synchro Summon Garden Rose Maiden(1600/2400) in defense mode!" Out came a stunning girl as she had blond hair and wore a dress that was basically a white rose. "Now I'll have my Queen Angel of Rose take out your Predaplant Spinodionaea, and my Black Rose Moonlight Dragon will take out your Predaplant Pterapenthes!" With that the Gamemaster's monster then laid waste to Applejack's entire field.
Applejack's Life Points: 7400-

"Your field is empty and on my next turn, I've got a clear path. I end my turn."

Turn 4: Applejack

"Mah turn, first ah pay 800 life points to keep mah Predaponics in play. Then I'll use its effect to bring back mah Predaplant Spinodionaea from the grave." Applejack then got another token to appear.
Applejack's Life Points: 6600-

"Now ah play Pot of Greed, so ah pick up two more cards. Yeehaw, hope yer ready partner cause I'm playin' mah Predaplant Flytrap. Then ah use Fly Trap's ability to place a Predaplant Counter!" Aj's tiny monster then shot another seed as it sunk its teeth into Garden Rose Maiden's dress. "So ah get another Rose Token, now ah play one of mah favorite cards, Polymerization. So ah fuse together mah Flytrap and Spinodionaea, I Fusion Summon, the vicious, voracious and venomous, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon(2800/2000)!" Applejack now had her most powerful monster her as it let out a roar to show its allegiance to her.

"Then ah play the spell card Predapractice, so ah special summon mah Predaplant Moray Nepenthes(1600/1000) from mah hand and add a 'Preda' card from mah deck to mah hand!"

"More weeds?" said the Gamemaster.

"Seems you don't know about mah plants, see ah told you they were some tough vegetation. They may not look and seem the friendliest, but they know how to get the job done!" Applejack looked at her two Predaplant monsters as she gave them a smile, "First mah Moray Nepenthes gains 200 extra attack points for every 'Predaplant Counter' on the field which means it now has 1800 attack points. And mah Venom Dragon gains the attack points of all of your special summoned monsters and it gains one of those effects. And ah choose your Black Rose Moonlight Dragon! " Applejack's dragon then latched on its wing-like vines as it started to suck the life out of all of the Gamemaster's dragon as it raises its own stats and ability. The Gamemaster then watched Applejack power up her dragon as its stats rose to 9200.

"Now ah move to attack, mah dragon will take out Black Rose Moonlight Dragon!" Applejack's dragon heard its command from his mistress as he laid waste to the Gamemaster's monster.
Gigaplant's Life Points: 1200-

"Only thorns left on this rose." said Applejack with a smug smile. "Ah end mah turn."

Turn 5: Gigaplant

"My turn, I summon Twilight Rose Knight(1000/1000). When I summon Twilight Rose Knight, I can also summon a plant monster from my hand. So say hello to Revival Rose(1300/1300). Next I tune my level 3 Twilight Rose Knight with level 4 Revival Rose! A cold flames envelops the world and within its blinding light, a black flower blooms, appear Black Rose Dragon(2400/1800)!" Soon the shadow to the creature was shown as it was pulled back to reveal a dragon then was simply stunning as it wore red rose petals as skin and had thorns.

"That's quite a looker." stated Applejack as she put her hand to her hat.

"Now my Black Rose Dragon's effect activates, when it's summoned, it destroys all cards on the field!"

"No!!" shouted Applejack. She watched her monsters get wiped out as there was nothing she could do to save them.

"Now I play Monster Reborn and with I can revive my Black Rose Moonlight Dragon back to the field!" The Gamemaster then had its monster back as it let out a roar.

"I'm in trouble." said Applejack.

The roar from Black Rose Moonlight Dragon was so loud that it could be heard from the other side of the docks. And it seemed to catch the attention of certain people.

"Woah, what was that?" asked Isaac.

"Sounded like a roar." stated Spike as he had gone with Isaac as the group splitted off to search this place.

"Let's check it out." suggested Isaac as he and Spike began to follow the trail of the sound as they hoped it could lead them to finding a way out of this place.

"Now you have nothing to defend yourselves from my monster attacking. Time to repay the favor, Black Rose Moonlight Dragon, attack her directly!!" shouted Gigaplant. Black Rose Dragon then unleashed its vine-like whips as it hit Applejack square in the chest as she felt the pain and dropped to her knees.
Applejack's Life Points: 4200-

"Now I'll place one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 6: Applejack

"It's... mah turn." said Applejack as she struggled through the pain. "Ah play mah Monster Reborn, so now I can revive a monster and ah choose mah Starving Venom Fusion Dragon." Applejack for a moment had her monster back on her field.

"Not gonna let that happen, now I activate Black Rose Moonlight Dragon's special ability. Whenever you summon a Level 5 or higher monster to the field, I can target that monster and return it to your hand. However, since your Starving Venom Fusion Dragon is a fusion monster it goes to the Extra Deck instead of your hand." smiled the Gamemaster as Applejack watched her monster disappear.

"Fiddlesticks!" said Aj. "In that case, I'll summon mah Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra(1000/1500) in defense mode." A snake-like plant then appeared on Applejack's field as it looked to protect her. "Ah end mah turn."

Turn 7: Gigaplant

"Wasted effort, draw. Hope your ready, cause now I'll have my Black Rose Moonlight Dragon take out your pathetic little serpent!" Black Rose Moonlight Dragon then used several of its vines as it whipped Applejack's monster around as it left scars and bruises all over its body before it was sent hurling at Aj's feet where it disappeared. "Next I'll play a monster in defense mode and end my turn."

Turn 8: Applejack

"Mah move, and ah counter by activatin' mah Deck Master's ability. Since ah have Lord Poison, ah can revive a Plant-type monster from mah graveyard, and ah choose mah Predaplant Spinodionaea. Then Spinodionaea's effect activates, so ah place a 'Predaplant Counter' on yer Black Rose Moonlight Dragon." Applejack's tiny plant-like dinosaur then shot off a seed as it embedded itself into the coat of Black Rose Moonlight Dragon. "Now I'll attack yer facedown monster, go Spinodionaea! Shred that card!"

"You had better be careful, cause the monster you just attacked was none other than my Wall of Ivy(300/1200). And when it's destroyed, one of my 'Ivy Tokens' take root on your side of the field." stated the Gamemaster.

Applejack then looked in front of her as she saw a seed being planted, soon it began to grow as it sprouted out a token for her in defense mode. "Ah don't the like the looks of these things, they could be a problem. It's yer move."

Turn 9: Gigaplant

"Your too kind," said Gigaplant as it drew its card, "Now then I reveal my facedown, Cursed Ivy. This lets me bring back my Wall of Ivy in defense mode. In case you can't tell, I've also got kind of a green thumb." snickered the Gamemaster. "Oh and by the way, I really should thank you. Cause Cursed Ivy gets powered up by my Ivy Wall, so now it's stronger than it was before."

Ah know what it's doin', its tryin' to increase the number of 'Ivy Tokens' on mah field. But why? What does this little guy...

"You gonna stand around and think or are you gonna duel!?!" shouted the Gigaplant. "Now Black Rose Moonlight Dragon will attack your Predaplant Spinodionaea." With that Applejack lost her monster as she lost some even more life points.
Applejack's Life Points: 3600-

"That's all for now."

Turn 10: Applejack

"Back to me, here goes. Once more ah mah Deck Master's ability and with ah bring back mah Predaplant Spinodionaea. Then its effect activates which lets me put another 'Predaplant Counter' on yer monster." Once more Applejack's monster then shot off another seed as it landed on Wall of Ivy. Ah hate to do this, but ah gotta get rid of that Wall of Ivy. Then ah can focus on takin' down that dragon. "Looks like yer Wall of Ivy is 'bout to be uprooted!"

"And looks like another 'Ivy Token' is about to shoot up on your side of the field." True to the Gamemaster's word, another token appeared on Applejack's field.

"Spinodionaea, attack!!" commanded Applejack as she thrusted her hand out.

"By destroying my Wall of Ivy, you've also taken out my Cursed Ivy trap card. And when my Cursed Ivy trap card is sent to the graveyard, it summons two more 'Ivy Tokens' to your side of the field."

"What!?!" said Applejack as she witnessed two more tokens in appeared as they now fully occupied her field. Ma, these things are growin' out of control even for me.

"You got anything else for me?" taunted Gigaplant.

Not really, since all the spots on mah field are filled, ah can't use mah Spinodionaea's effect to summon out another 'Predaplant' monster from mah deck. Shit! "Ah end mah turn with 2 facedowns."

Turn 11: Gigaplant

"That's disappointing." mocked Gigaplant. "I draw, and from my hand, I'm activating the Seed of Deception spell card! Seed of Deception lets me special summon a Level two or below Plant-type monster from my hand. So with the power of this spell card, I summon out Dark Verger(0/1000) in attack mode." The Gamemaster then had a monster come out as it had eyes on each of its two leaves.

"Creepy lookin' creature." stated Applejack.

"Well get one last look, cause I'm gonna do a little landscaping to make room for something stronger. I advance summon my Rose Tentacles(2200/1200) in attack mode!" Out came a monster that was basically a rose as it had a face on its body and had thorns that were tentacles, in fact it looked like some kind of squid. "The best thing about roses is that their thorns are as dangerous as their petals are beautiful! And your about to experience that first hand! Go Rose Retaliation!" Rose Tentacles then wrapped its tentacles around Applejack's monster as they unleashed their thorns and destroyed it sending some powerful winds towards Aj who put her arm up to protect herself.
Applejack's Life Points: 3200-

"That attack was just the beginning, so get ready for my Rose Tentacles' special ability about to squeeze you into submission. At the start of the battle phase, my Rose Tentacle gains an additional attack for every Plant-type monster on your side of the field; so since you had five Plant-type monsters, it can attack five more times." informed the Gamemaster. "And my Rose Tentacles ability allows it to deal an extra 300 points of damage for every plant-type it destroys."

"No way!!" shouted Applejack as her eyes grew big.
Applejack's Life Points: 2900-

"Now you'll take damage for the 4 Ivy Tokens on your field, this might hurt." snickered Gigaplant. "This is the part of the battle that I enjoy the most, cause now I get to watch the power of my Rose Tentacles and Ivy Tokens bleed your life points dry!" laughed Gigaplant. "Get ready cowgirl, cause I forgot to mention that for every Ivy Token that's destroyed you will lose 300 life points. So in total, you're gonna lose 600 points of damage." Rose Tentacles then shot out of of its many tentacles as it destroyed an Ivy Token and then wrapped around Applejack's right arm as it restrained her.
Applejack's Life Points: 2300-

"Here's one more. Attack!!" Another tentacle was shot out as it destroyed another token on Applejack's field as it wrapped around her right leg to keep her from moving.
Applejack's Life Points: 1700-

Applejack was feeling the pain and the sharp thorns as they constricted around her body parts. The Gamemaster was just smiling at they watched Aj suffering.

"You're not giving in yet? Well maybe this will change your mind!" Rose Tentacles then fired a third attack as it took out another token and then wrapped around Applejack's left leg and was now keeping her in place as she took some more damage.
Applejack's Life Points: 1100-

"I'm gonna enjoy." smiled Gigaplant evilly. "Now attack!!!"

Rose Tentacles then fired off another tentacle as it took out the last token. This time it wrapped its whole tentacle around Applejack's body as it lifted her high into the air as she was struggling to get free and suffering from some hurtful pain.
Applejack's Life Points: 500-

"Ha, ha, ha!!! Look at you up there, all helpless and alone. No one can help you and no know will. Where's your cowboy riding on his white steed to save you now? Time to end this!" laughed Gigaplant.

"Ah activate the effect of mah Predaplant Sarraceniant, since you declared a direct attack, ah can summon this little guy." said Applejack as her monster appeared in defense mode below her. Soon Rose Tentacles slammed down Applejack onto her monster as it served as its final additional attack for this round.

Applejack was on the ground as she had a couple of scuffs on her body and face. "Now mah monster's other effect activates, so now your Rose Tentacle is destroyed. And ah can add a 'Preda' card from mah deck to mah hand." said Applejack as she used her screen to select the card she wanted.

"My Rose Tentacles may be gone, but my Black Rose Moonlight Dragon still hasn't attacked. And since you have no monsters left to hid behind and only 500 life points left, you're about to lose this duel. And when you lose the duel, your mind will be trapped here forever! Time to say goodbye, Black Rose Moonlight Dragon attack her directly!! End this duel!!!" Black Rose Moonlight Dragon then sent its vines towards Applejack.

Applejack was barely on her right knee as she noticed the attack coming towards her. She barely had enough strength to lift her arm up, "Ah activate the trap, Card Defense. So by removin' one of the cards in mah hand, ah can negate yer attack. Then it allows me to draw a new card to replace it." Applejack then had a wall of cards appear as it protect her from the attack as she picked up her card. However, the force of the attack was still strong enough for her to feel the impact as a few thorns broke from the tentacles as they gave her a few scratches and cuts as she fell face first onto the ground.

"Persistent. However, it'll take more than that to defeat me. So I end my turn."

Applejack was still laying on the floor as she was really struggling to get up. "Ah can't lose, not now. Ah need to get back to the others, mah friends, mah family. Ah just have to..." Applejack was doing everything she could to just lift her body but it seemed to not be working.

"At this point, I wouldn't even try getting up. Just stay down and I promise to only hurt you a lot." laughed evilly the Gamemaster.

"Ah... ah..." Applejack was now thinking of how she should probably just stay down and maybe the Gamemaster would have some mercy.

"Don't tell me you're giving up now?" said a voice.

Applejack turned her head slight to her side as she saw Isaac and Spike on some fire escape stairs as they looked at her. "Boys, you're here." Applejack had a smile on her face when she saw her friends.

"I thought the Applejack I knew never bowed down to her opponents. Where's the country girl that I knew love to tussle and get down and dirty?"

"She's right here." said Applejack.

"Really? Cause to me it looks like you're taking a nap. I wonder what Rainbow Dash would say knowing that she could last longer than you. Guess she really does impress me more." smirked Isaac.

"Nonsense, I'm just catchin' mah breath." Aj then willed herself to get back up as she got some newfound support from her friends. She was able to stand up and dust herself off as she put on her serious face.

"There she is." smiled Isaac. "Spike, go get the others and bring them here."

"Right. Just keep Applejack safe." Spike then began to back track the way they came as he went to fetch the other girls.

"Now, show this Gamemaster what you're made of!" shouted Isaac.

Turn 12: Applejack

"Mah turn and time for me to take you down." said Applejack as she drew her card.

"With what? Let me remind you that my Black Rose Moonlight Dragon's effect allows me to return any level 5 or higher monster that you special summon back to your hand. And knowing that you rely on fusion to bring out your powerful monsters, you need not only a Polymerization but also the fact it'll be returned back to your Extra Deck." stated Gigaplant.

"Don't you think I know, first ah activate mah Deck Master's ability. So now ah bring back mah Predaplant Moray Nepenthes." A tiny plant appeared as it used its thin vines as its legs and hands. "As you know, mah Moray Nepenthes gains 200 extra attack points for every 'Predaplant Counter' on the field, so since yer Black Rose Moonlight Dragon still has a counter it gains 200 more attack points."

"Even with that power boost, your puny petunia still doesn't come close to taking down my mighty dragon." stated Gigaplant.

"Then ah reveal mah final facedown, DNA Transplant. Now all face-up monsters become dark attribute types." said Applejack.

"What a useless move, changing the attribute type of my monster doesn't change anything! Even if you fusion summon, I'll just use my dragon's effect to render it useless." exclaimed the Gamemaster.

"That's what you think!" shouted Isaac. "You see Applejack did that for a reason, and now she's just moments away from winning."

"Oh really?"

"Show him, AJ."

"The city slicker is right, cause I am gonna do a fusion summon. But I'm first, ah plannin' on usin' yer monster to do so."

"You can't do that? Polymerization only works for your side of the field." shouted Gigaplant.

"Your right, Polymerization does that. But the card ah have in mah hand is a different Polymerization." Applejack then turned her card over as she had a smirk on her face.

"No! No!" The Gamemaster was now losing their mind as they saw the card that Applejack had.

"Now ah discard a card to the grave, so that ah can activate Super Polymerization!!!" Applejack held her card high up in the air.

"Aw yeah!!" cheered Isaac.

"Now ah can use monsters from either player's field to conduct a fusion summon. So ah fuse together mah Predaplant Moray Nepenthes and yer Black Rose Moonlight Dragon!" A vortex in the sky opened up as both monsters were sucked in as they combined their energy to bring out a powerful monster. "I Fusion Summon, come on out buddy! Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!!" Applejack was now able to call upon her ace as her dragon let out a fierce and loud roar.

"No!!!!!!!"

"Now Starving Venom Dragon, end this duel!!!" shouted Applejack as she thrusted her hand out. Starving Venom Dragon heard its mistress command as it flapped its wings and soared high into the air. Soon it started to fall back as it had its mouth open it showed its deadly jaws as it set its sights on the Gamemaster as it was about to gobble Gigaplant.

"I won't forget this!!!" was the Gamemaster's final words as Venom Dragon ate the monster up and let out a fierce roar.

"Well, it's over." said Applejack as she let out a breath. She then fell down as her energy was zapped out.

"Applejack!" shouted Isaac as he made his way down the stairs and hurried over to Applejack as he bent down and held her. "Come on, Aj." Isaac then looked up and saw Starving Venom Dragon give a loud cry as it looked at Isaac.

Starving Dragon was concerned for its mistress when it saw Applejack collapse. When Isaac rushed to Aj's side, Venom Dragon went into protective mode as it felt like Isaac was going to hurt Applejack. Isaac noticed this and he tried to reason with Aj's dragon and get it to calm down. He tried to show that he didn't want to cause any harm, but Venom Dragon didn't seem to believe him. It was about to attack Isaac as he closed his eyes and covered Applejack's body with his; Mahad came out as he used his magic to put a strong barrier that held off Venom Dragon's attack as it caused it to fall back. Mahad then casted a spell that allowed him to communicate with Aj's dragon as he did his best to reason with it to show that Isaac meant no harm. It seemed to work as both just gave long stares and soon Venom Dragon gave one final roar as it disappeared. Mahad then turned to Isaac as he said thank you to his magician before he disappeared.

"Come on Applejack, wake up." said Isaac as he shook the farm girl in his arms. "Wake up, Aj."

Applejack slowly started to stir as she opened her eyes. "Isaac?"

"You're alright."

"What happened?"

"You won."

"Oh, ah mean, of course ah won." said Applejack as she tried to be prideful. "Hey, thanks for being there. Ah thought I would never see you or the gang ever again." Applejack then wrapped her arms around Isaac as she hugged him deeply.

"Hey, no matter how far apart we are, we'll always find our way back to each other." said Isaac as he returned the hug and stroked Aj's hair.

They both stood up as they broke apart. Isaac then picked up her stenson hat as he dusted it off and gave it to Applejack who put it back on her head and gave Isaac a quick peck on his cheek.

"So, where are the others?" asked Applejack.

"Well..."

"Hey, you guys!" shouted Spike. He was now running towards them as he had managed to round up the rest of the girls and brought them to where he left Isaac.

The girls were all happy to see Applejack was safe as they pulled her into a giant hug. Both of the boys just looked on with smiles on their faces as they gave each other a high five.

"Now that we have Aj back, all we're missing is Rainbow Dash. You don't where she might be, do you, Applejack?" asked Sunset.

"'fraid not."

"Well, we better get looking. Knowing the Gamemaster, I have a feeling that even if Dash passes her challenge, I doubt they'll let us go." stated Twilight.

"Well we searched all over the docks and the warehouses. Seems there's no sign she's here." said Fluttershy.

"Then our best bet might to be to follow that road." said Spike as he pointed to a highway that was connecting the driveway of the docks and extending over the sea that lay before them.

"Walking is going to take forever." complained Rarity.

"Wait a minute, didn't we see some vehicles in one of the warehouses?" asked Pinkie. Seems her question caused everybody to think the same thing.

"So... who knows how to drive?" asked Isaac.
