Chapter 117: First Exposure

It was a typical day in Ponyville as the citizens of the town were out and about doing their thing. Isaac was in his room as he sat on the bed as he looked at his deck. He had a couple of his cards spread out but mostly, Isaac was looking at the monsters from his extra deck as he began to think about something. Ever since, his experience with meeting Yuma and obtaining a brand new monster, Isaac was now curious about the magic that flowed through him.

"So, are really content with having me as your master?" asked Isaac.

"Why not? Young, handsome, full vitality. What more could a girl ask for?" winked Chaos Mageía.

"It's just... well... I'm just a normal boy. Nothing special about me, so is that really someone who you want to call your owner?"

"My you really don't give yourself enough credit. Listen, Isaac is it? I'm more than happy to be a part of your deck. I sensed your power and desires when you first summoned me. And I can see you're determined individual and that the future ahead is your greatest fear. But know that I will be here as a guide, just like the others, we're here to follow your lead and orders. And in return, our duty is to protect you." smiled Chaos Mageía. "Besides, it feels nice having a master who's relatively around the same age as me."

"To be honest, I thought you were older." said Isaac as most of his magicians in his deck were either adults or children. He did have a handful of magicians that were around his age group, and it seemed he had another one who fell into that category.

"What, do I look old?"

"No. You actually are beautiful for someone your age." stated Isaac.

"I knew I made the right choice by sticking with you." Chaos Mageía then used her magic as she pulled Isaac into a hug as she could feel his fur against her skin. "You're just so cute, not to mention cuddly. No wonder the other females love having you as their master." stated Chaos Mageía as she found out why Isaac's female spellcasters loved having Isaac as their owner. "And to be honest, I don't mind sharing you. So long as I get my daily dose of snuggling you like a stuffed animal."

"Keep in mind, this is just a temporary form." informed Isaac. Soon he was let go from his magician as she gave him kiss and disappeared back into his deck. "Well, looks like I've got another female who's going to give me tons of attention." With that he gathered up his cards and put them back into his saddle bag and left his room.

Isaac stepped outside as he saw Spike and Sunset lying down on the grass as they were getting some rays.

"Are you guys working on your tan?" asked Isaac.

"Hey, I'm dragon. I'm cold-blooded, remember." stated Spike.

"That hasn't stop you before." said Isaac.

"Look man, I wanted some sunshine so don't ruin this for me." said Spike as he put on sunglasses.

"What's your excuse?" said Isaac as he looked at Sunset.

"Take a guess, boy toy." stated Sunset as she too wore sunglasses.

Isaac just rolled his eyes as he took a seat next to the pair.

"So, just for reference, how many have we've taken down?" asked Spike.

"Well, given what happened at the Summer Sun Celebration a while back. We discovered that Equestria is basically up for grabs between five different factions of Duel Monsters." said Sunset. "The first one so happened to be Battleguard King who along with his buddies tried to interrupt the party in Canterlot."

"Then there was dealing with Battleguard King himself, when I challenged him to a duel and took him down. Thus taking care of the first leader." said Isaac.

"After that was when we traveled to the Dragon Lands." said Sunset.

"Yeah, that whole debacle. We all had to take a trip there and found out that another leader was trying to cause a war with the dragons so that all of Equestria could descend into chaos. Thankfully, Sunset was able to stop the leader, Fire Kraken, and destroy his machines." said Spike.

"True, but I couldn't have done it without Isaac. He did provide the perfect distraction; he's got that certain personality that just irks certain people." smiled Sunset smugly.

"You know I'm right here, you know?" stated Isaac.

"Exactly my point." said Sunset. "And that's doubly true in our recent adventure to the Crystal Empire. You really know how to piss off anybody to make them your enemy. You should have seen how many of those Duel Monsters just wanted to slug Isaac in the face."

"Again, I'm right here." stated Isaac as he didn't like it that Sunset and Spike were describing him like this.

"Anyways, we were able to repel that massive army and stop the Crystal Empire from falling into enemy hands. And you managed to defeat the third leader who was in charge of that army." said Spike. "So based on that and how many leaders are remaining, you guys only have two more commanders to take out and then you're mission is complete."

"Still can't believe the portraits were drawn in crayon." said Sunset as she sat up and took off her sunglasses as she looked at the scroll.

"Anyways, we should focus on making sure that we take down the remaining commanders. So any leads?" asked Isaac.

"None from Twilight. And the princesses haven't informed us of any other incidents occurring." mentioned Spike.

"So it seems like we got nothing for the time being." stated Isaac.

"What can you do? At least this gives us a chance to relax." smiled Sunset.

So for the rest of the time, all three of them just kicked back and relaxed as they had nothing better to do.

While they were just lying on the ground, Spike had asked a question.

"Hey, Isaac. I know you said that growing up, you had a fascination for Duel Monsters. But do you remember the first ever duel you saw with your own eyes?"

"Come to think of it, you never did tell me or the rest of the gang back home." said Sunset as she sat up. "I'm kind of interested."

"Well..." Isaac then began to think back on his first ever live duel he ever saw. "As crazy as it may be, the first duel I ever saw live in person wasn't my idol. Tickets for the event had been sold out, so my parents decided to take me to another exhibition duel that was being held the day before. And safe to say that it was a duel that was something."

(Years Ago)

The atmosphere was electric as tons of people had arrived at the stadium waiting to see the entertainment that was about to happen. Isaac and his parents had arrived at the arena as they took their seat. For Isaac, it had been only a few weeks since he got interested in Duel Monsters and during that time he kept watching the TV for every single duel that was broadcasted. So when his parents told him that they had purchased tickets to attend the duel in person, it was the best thing his little heart could take, especially cause his 5th birthday so happen to fall on the actually day of the event. With that Isaac and his parents all settled in as Isaac couldn't contain himself as he was moving all around in his chair. Soon the lights started to dim and the event began.

"Welcome everybody to this special exhibition duel. For those of you that don't know me, I'm Maximillion Pegasus. I am the creator of your beloved card game and the host of this special event. I know that the duelists that are competing in this event are all talented and I'm truly impressed with your abilities. I know that you all competed ferociously to get here and I'm looking forward to crowning one of you as champion."

"Talented duelists?!" shouted another voice as he appeared on another platform. "Dueling is all about speed, and these duelists are among the slowest I've seen. I've seen psychic snails move faster than these competitors. You've haven't seen talent until you see me, the Master of Faster! Jack Atlas!" said Jack as the crowd gave him a cheer. "I will crush any one of them faster than you can say 'Red Dragon Archfiend'."

"Well that's some confidence you have there. Perhaps you'd like to put your skills to the test against me." stated Pegasus as he looked to have some fun.

"With pleasure. But after I completely destroy you, I hope a more challenging opponent steps forward." snickered Jack.

"Let's duel." said Pegasus in a calm manner.

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.

Pegasus' Life Points: 4000-

Jack Atlas' Life Points: 4000-

Turn 1: Pegasus

"I'll start this duel off with Pot of Greed! This card lets me draw 2 cards from my deck. Next, I activate Graceful Charity to draw 3 cards and discard two." said Pegasus as he drew some more cards. "I drawn 3 cards and discard Mimicat and Red-Eyes Toon Dragon. And now the fun begins. It's finally time to bring this duel into... Toon World! I activate Toon Kingdom! Now I'll banish the top 3 cards of my deck. My Toon Kingdom is home to my most extraordinary monsters; the Toon Kingdom is the safest place for a toon monster to be while Toon Kingdom is on my field, you can't target any of my toon monsters with card effects and that's not all. While Toon Kingdom is face-up on my field, all of my toon monsters can attack you directly." laughed Pegasus.

"Attack me directly?!" said Jack.

"That's right, Jackie-boy, you're no match for my toon monsters. Now, I'll play Monster Reborn to bring back the Red-Eyes Toon Dragon that I discarded earlier. And then I'll use my dragon's effect to special summon Toon Dark Magician from my hand." Pegasus now had two monsters on his field as it caused all the little kids to go wild, including young Isaac. "Next, I activate the effect of my Toon Dark Magician, once per turn by discarding a toon card from my hand, I can special summon a toon monster form my deck ignoring its summoning condition. I discard Toon Barrel Dragon from my hand to have Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon join the fray. So how do you like that?"

"Please, you're pathetic caricatures of monsters don't intimidate me." huffed Jack.

"Pathetic caricatures? These are new and improved versions of the legendary duelist signature cards." said Pegasus as he addressed the crowd. "And you're staring down all of them at the same time." mentioned Pegasus as he looked back at Jack.

"Whatever. Are you done yet?"

"Almost. Lucky for you, none of my monsters can attack this turn. So I'll just set one card facedown. It's your turn." smiled Pegasus.

Turn 2: Jack

"I draw. First, I'll clear out all the smoke you're blowing with my Twin Twister spell card. I discard Barrier Resonator from my hand to destroy your facedown card and your Toon Kingdom." stated Jack.

"Blowing smoke? My toon monsters are certain to live up to the hype, they're every bit as strong as I said they are. Maybe even stronger and so is my Toon Kingdom because it's not going anywhere. I activate my trap card, Judgement of Anubis. I discard one card from my hand to negate the effect of your Twin Twisters and destroy it."

"Fine! Your kingdom of monsters will fall all the same. I special summon Vice Dragon(2000/2400) from my hand. While you control a monster and I don't, I can special summon my Level 5 Vice Dragon with its attack and defense points cut in half. Next, I normal summon the level 3 tuner, Dark Resonator!" Jack now had two monsters on his field as he was about to do something big.

"Level 3 tuner? I see that you're planning..."

"That's right." interrupted Jack. "I tune my Level 3 Dark Resonator with my Level 5 Vice Dragon. From the ancient chasms of a lost world, I awaken a great and terrible power, I Synchro Summon, now rise Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend(3000/2500)!" Out came a dragon that was huge as it caused everybody in the audience to look in awe. "My Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend has 3000 attack points and an incredible effect. Once per turn, I can destroy all other special summoned effect monsters on the field with attack points equal to or less than the attack points of my Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend. Then you lose 500 life points for each monster that's destroyed! Since all 3 of your monsters are effect monsters with 3000 or fewer attack points that was special summoned they're about to be obliterated by my dragon. You're finished, Pegasus. Starlight Red Dragon Archfiend, activated your effect. Destroy Pegasus of his monsters and take me one step closer toward victory." shouted Jack.

"Oops. I forgot to tell you about my Toon Kingdom's other effect. Whenever one of my beloved toon monsters would be destroyed, I can simply banish the top card of my deck facedown instead. Rather than losing all three of my monsters and 1500 life points to your Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend's effect, I'll banish the top 3 cards of my deck facedown. My monsters are all perfectly safe."

"That was just a minor setback that only slightly delays your inevitably crushing defeat. I activate Resonator Call. This card lets me add any 'Resonator' from my deck to my hand. I'll add the Level 1 tuner Synchron Resonator to my hand. As long as there's a synchro monster on the field, I can special summon my Synchron Resonator from my hand. Since Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend is on the field, that's exactly what I'll do." Jack then summoned his new monster to the field. "But it won't stay on my field for long because I'm tuning it with my Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!"

"Another Synchro Summon?" asked Pegasus.

"Archfiend unleashed from darkness of the abyss, let your rage explode. I Synchro Summon Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss(3200/2500)! My Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss has 3200 attack and just the effect I need. Once per tur, I can negate the effects of a faceup card on the field until the end phase. Next, I'll use the effect of my Synchron Resonator, if Synchron Resonator is sent from the field to the graveyard, I get to add one 'Resonator' from my graveyard to my hand. Since I just sent my Synchron Resonator to the graveyard by using it as a material in synchro summon, I can return Barrier Resonator from my graveyard to my hand. Now I activate the effects of Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss to negate the effect of Toon Kingdom."

"Even without Toon Kingdom protecting them, my toons would never abandon me."

"Then I'll guess I'll just have to destroy your toons with brute force!" stated Jack. "I activate Double Summon. This card lets me normal summon a second time this turn and I'll use that additional summon to add the Level 1 tuner Barrier Resonator to my field."

"Another tuner?" stated Pegasus.

"Now I tune my Level 1 Barrier Resonator with my Level 9 Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss. Let the peeps soar, split the mountains and come forth along with the flames of the earth. I Synchro Summon Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Bane(3500/3000)!" One more Jack had a powerful monster on his field as it let out a roar that caused the whole building to shake.

"Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Bane?"

"That's right, but don't get too used to it because I'm about to tribute it to activate its effect."

"You're tributing your Level 10 synchro monster, what for?" asked Pegasus.

"For my victory. Pegasus in this particular scenario my Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Bane is a mere stepping stone to get back to the monster I really want on my field. By tributing it, I can special summon a 'Red Dragon Archfiend' monster from my graveyard. I tribute my Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Bane and special summon my Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend back to the field."

"You already tried using that monster it didn't work."

"That was before. You thwarted my Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend's effect by using the protective powers of your Toon Kingdom, but now that your Toon Kingdom's effect is negated thanks to my Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss. Your monsters are powerless against the awesome might of my Scarlight Dragon."

"Oh no." said Pegasus as he was now worried.

"Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend activate your effect and destroy all of Pegasus' monsters. Nothing will save them this time!" With that Jack's dragon took out Pegasus' entire field as he was left defenseless. "All of your monsters are destroyed and you lose 500 life points for each of them."
Pegasus' Life Points: 2500-

"Oh, my beloved toons. This isn't good." stated Pegasus.

"Now Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend, use your 3000 attack points to attack Pegasus directly and end this duel!" shouted Jack.

"No!" said Pegasus as he put his arms up as the attack made contact.
Pegasus' Life Points: 0-

Winner: Jack Atlas (OTK)

(Brief pause)

"Wow!" said Spike.

"That was some duel." stated Sunset.

"Oh, it gets better." said Isaac as he had more to tell of his tale.

(Back to flashback)

"Just as I thought, you couldn't even last one turn against me. You're a has been Pegasus. Everyone here is completely overrated; there isn't a duelist in the room who can stand up to me." stated Jack as he did his signature pose. Just as he was about to leave the stage, another platform was rising and another person was standing on it.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that." said the individual.

"Who are you?" asked Jack as he was disgusted that this person who stand up to him.

"I'm Aster Phoenix." The crowd went wild as they showed their appreciation for the young duelist. "And I'm here to prove you wrong."

"You? You think you can beat me?" asked Jack.

"Think I can. It's my destiny to defeat you, Mr. Atlantis." mocked Aster.

"The name is Jack Atlas. And when I crush you in a duel, you'll never forget it."

"Oh, sorry about that Mr. Atlas. But you shouldn't count on beating me, I'm a professional duelist and one of the best players that Duel Academy has to offer."

"I just hope you're more of a challenge than my last opponent." stated Jack.

"Be careful Aster." said Pegasus as he took a seat preparing to watch the two duelist fight. "Jack not only talks a big game, he has the skills to back it up. He defeated me in just a single turn."

"Don't get too comfortable in, Pegasus. I'll be taking my throne right back after I win this duel."

"Don't worry, Mr. Pegasus. I've got this. I'm the hero these people need to kick his ego down a notch." stated Aster.

"I can't wait to defeat you." snickered Jack Atlas.

"Let's duel." said both boys as they activated their duel disks.

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.

Jack Atlas' Life Points: 4000-

Aster Phoenix's Life Points: 4000-

Turn 1: Aster

"All right, I'll start this duel off with my spell card, Destiny Draw. Now by discarding one 'Destiny HERO' monster from my hand, I get to draw 2 cards. I ditch Destiny HERO - Disk Commander to draw 2 cards." Aster then sent his monster to the graveyard as he added some more cards to his hand.

"Hmm. I see that Aster Phoenix is relying on his signature Destiny HERO monsters that allowed him to rise up the ranks at Duel Academy. Aster certainly is a depth at wielding their power, but Jack Atlas is no pushover. This will be a tough duel for them both." said Pegasus as he was now commentating on the duel for the people watching everywhere else and in the audience.

"And that's not all I'll be drawing this turn. Next, I activate Pot of Greed. Unlike Destiny Draw, Pot of Greed has no strings attached. And now I normal summon D Cubed(0/0) from my hand. When I normal summon D Cubed, it becomes a 'Destiny HERO' monster for as long as it's on the field. Next, I activate D Cubed's special ability; by discarding 2 cards from my hand, I get to special summon two more copies of my D Cubed from my deck. I'll throw Destiny HERO - Doom Lord and Destiny HERO - Malicious into my graveyard and swarm the field." Aster then sent his cards to the graveyard as he had two more dog monsters on his field. "How do you like my triple threat?"

"3 monsters with zero attack and defense points? They have more bark than bite. You call that a threat?" mocked Jack.

"Well, I guess not. But now that they're all on the field together, I get to tribute them for something much stronger. I tribute all three copies of D Cubed to special summon Destiny HERO - Dogma(3400/2400)!" Aster now had one of his most powerful monsters on his side of the field as the audience gave an applause. "And my Destiny HERO - Dogma has 3400 attack points."

"Incredible. Since Destiny HERO - Dogma has over 3000 attack points, it isn't vulnerable to the effect of Jack's Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend. Aster must have been watching my duel against Jack Atlas and planned accordingly." mentioned Pegasus.

"Impressive." stated Jack.

"Oh and I'm not done yet, Mr. Atlas. I'm throwing 2 cards facedown before ending my turn."

Turn 2: Jack

"Now let's see if you can last longer than the old man." mocked Jack.

"Ah, rude!" shouted Pegasus.

"I draw."

"Oh, not so fast, Mr. Atlas. That's all it takes to activate my Destiny HERO - Dogma's special ability. During your Standby Phase, Destiny HERO - Dogma cuts your life points in half. Since you still have all 4000 of your starting life points that means you're about to lose 2000." stated Aster.
Jack's Life Points: 2000-

"Jack just drew his first card and already he has lost half of his life points." informed Pegasus.

"I don't care how thin you divide my life points as long as I have one life points remaining, I'll crush you with my absolute power and I'm starting on my path to victory with this. I summon the Level 2 tuner monster, Force Resonator(500/500). But that's not all, when I normal summon a tuner monster like Force Resonator, I get to special summon my Level 6 Red Warg(1400/2200) from my hand. When I special summon Red Warg from my hand in this way, its attack and defense points are cut down to 700, but that doesn't matter because it's not sticking around for long. I tune my Level 2 Force Resonator with my Level 6 Red Warg."

"Here is comes." stated Pegasus.

"Rend the obsidian darkness, scorch heaven and earth isolated absolute king, I Synchro Summon Hot Red Dragon Archfiend(3000/2000)!" Jack now had a powerful dragon on his field as it was engulfed in flames.

"Woah, that was pretty cool." said Aster as even he was amazed by the monster in front of him.

"My Hot Red Dragon Archfiend has 3000 attack points and 2000 defense points, plus an incredible power. Once per turn, my Hot Red Dragon Archfiend can destroy all other face-up attack position monsters on the field. Your Destiny HERO - Dogma may have more attack points than my monster, but that won't stop my Hot Red Dragon Archfiend from destroying it. Hot Red Dragon Archfiend activate your effect!" shouted Jack. Soon his dragon raised it claw as it slammed it into Dogma as it was erupted into flames. "Ha, your monster has been obliterated by mine and it doesn't end there. Now, Hot Red Dragon Archfiend, attack Aster directly!"

"I activate my trap card, D - Fortune!" shouted Aster. "This card lets me banish one 'Destiny HERO' from my graveyard to immediately end your battle phase. I'll banish Destiny HERO - Doom Lord to protect my life points." Soon the spirit of Aster's monster appeared as he shielded him from Jack's attack.

"Fine, I'll set 2 cards facedown and then end my turn."

Turn 3: Aster

"It's my turn, I draw. I'll start off this turn by activating my facedown card, Limit Reverse. This card lets me special summon a monster with 1000 or less attack points from my graveyard in attack position. And I choose Destiny HERO - Disk Commander(300/300)!" Aster now had a monster on his side of the field as it had disk plates on the back of its hands. "Now my Disk Commander's effect activates. When it's special summoned from the graveyard, I get to draw 2 cards. And next, I activate Graceful Charity. I draw 3 cards from my deck and discard Destiny HERO - Celestial along with Destiny HERO - Captain Tenacious."

"You'll need all the cards you can get if you hope to even stand a chance against me." mocked Jack.

"Oh, don't worry. I'll be sure to put those cards to good use, but first I activate the effect of my Destiny HERO - Malicious. By banishing it from my graveyard, I get to special summon another copy from my deck. Arise, my second Malicious(800/800) in defense mode. Now I normal summon Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude(1400/1600) and activate its effect. I excavate the top card of my deck, if it's a spell card I send it to the graveyard. Looks like I found Monster Reincarnation on top of my deck, since that a spell card, I ship it off to the graveyard." stated Aster.

"What's the point of that?" asked Jack.

"Even though most spell cards can only be activated from a duelist's hand, Diamond Dude lets me activate the effect of a spell card that it excavates. I can't activate the effect of that spell card until the turn after Diamond Dude sends it to the graveyard, so it sort of gives you a glimpse into the future by showing you one of the effects that I'm destined to use on my next turn. And now that I have 3 monsters on the field, I tribute them all for a monster that can only be summoned by sacrificing all of them. I offer up Destiny HERO - Disk Commander, Destiny HERO - Malicious, and Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude to special summon Destiny HERO - Plasma(1900/600)!" Aster now had a super powerful monster on his side of the field.

"I've seen this before." said a young Isaac. He then remember awhile back when he was watching the TV and coincidentally, Aster played the same monster against his opponent who so happen to be none other than Jaden.

"You're finished. Destiny HERO - Plasma activate your effect to absorb Jack's monster." Aster's monster then shot out some plasma as it sucked in Jack's dragon.

"No way! My Hot Red Dragon Archfiend was assimilated into your Destiny HERO - Plasma?" said Jack as he was caught off guard.

"That's right. Now my Destiny HERO - Plasma gains the effect of your Hot Red Dragon Archfiend, but more importantly half of its 3000 attack points are added to my Destiny HERO - Plasma's 1900 attack points for a grand total of 3400 attack points. And since you only have 2000 life points left, it looks like you're destined to lose. Destiny HERO - Plasma attack Jack directly and end this duel!" shouted Aster.

"I make my own destiny, Aster. And I'm switching up fate with my facedown card; I activate Changing Destiny! This trap negates your attack and presents you with a choice. You can inflict damage to my life points equal to half of the attack points of your monster or you can gain life points equal to that same amount. The choice is yours, by the way, I'm still in this duel." stated Jack.

"Those are some good choices. Since you have so few life points to spare already, I'll choose to inflict 1700 points of damage to your life points." smiled Aster as he made his choice.
Jack's Life Points: 300-

"This duel is going so well for you Mr. Atlas. You're down to just 300 life points; I'll throw one card facedown and end my turn. You should probably be a bit more modest in the future that way you'll avoid looking like a fool when you fall so far behind."

Turn 4: Jack

"A fool! The score may be in your favor but I have you exactly where I want you. I draw." stated Jack.

"From where I'm standing it's clear that Aster had a decisive lead. What could Jack be planning?" asked Pegasus.

"First, I activate Pot of Greed to draw 2 cards from my deck. But that's not all, now I'll speed through my deck with Pot of Desires. I banish the top 10 cards of my deck facedown to draw 2 more cards."

"You'll need all the cards you can get if you hope to even stand a chance against me." mocked Aster as he threw Jack's previous comment back in his face.

"Now I send Red Resonator from my hand to the graveyard to special summon Power Giant(2200/0). I can special summon Power Giant by sending any monster from my hand to my graveyard. Then Power Giant loses levels equal to the level of the monster I threw from my hand. Since I sent my Level 2 Red Resonator to the graveyard to special summon Power Giant, my Power Giant is now a Level 4 monster."

"How interesting. Jack can use his Power Giant effect to modify its level and prepare for a synchro summon. I see where this is going." stated Pegasus.

"Exactly! I gain 3400 life points." stated Jack.
Jack's Life Points: 3700-

"Next, I normal summon my Level 2 Power Supplier from my hand, but none of my monsters are staying on the field for long. I tune my Level 2 Red Resonator with my Level 4 Power Giant and Level 2 Power Supplier." Red Resonator then transformed into two giant green rings as both monsters jumped in between them. "From the ancient chasms of a lost world, I awaken a great and terrible power. I Synchro Summon, now rise Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!" Jack's mighty dragon then descend onto the field as the crowd applauded what they saw.

"Go right ahead. Your Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend has 400 less attack points than my Destiny HERO - Plasma. That means you can't beat it in battle and my Destiny HERO isn't susceptible to your monster's effect."

"We'll see about that. Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend attack Aster's Destiny HERO - Plasma." shouted Jack as he monster took flight.

"This doesn't make any sense." said Pegasus. "Destiny HERO - Plasma has 3400 attack points and Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend has only 3000 attack points. The pressure of this duel must have really gotten to Jack."

"Why would you attack with a weaker monster?" asked Aster.

"I'll show you! Now that our monsters are about to battle, I activate my trap card Red Cocoon. The Red Cocoon protects my monster by negating the effects of any monster that my Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend battles that means your Plasma's effect is negated and it no longer gains a boost from assimilating my Hot Red Dragon Archfiend. It's attack points drop back down to 1900." stated Jack with a sly smile on his face.

"Oh no." shouted Aster.

"Your Destiny HERO - Plasma is destroyed!" shouted Jack. His dragon then took out Aster's hero as he put his arms up to cover himself up.
Aster's Life Points: 2900-

"Now I have the upper hand as I should. And I'm not done yet, Aster. Since I control Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend, now I can activate my Red Dragon Vase to draw 2 cards. I set one of those cards facedown and end my turn."

"And here I thought that Jack's threats were all bluster, but he actually managed to turn this duel around." stated Pegasus.

Turn 5: Aster

"I draw. I summon Vision HERO Vyon(1000/1200)." said Aster.

"A Vision HERO?" asked Isaac as he had never heard of such a card.

"My Vision HERO monsters can see the destiny that awaits them and that destiny includes our victory. Next, I activate Vyon's effect, if it's summoned I get to choose one 'HERO' monster from my deck and send it to my graveyard. I think I'll pick Destiny HERO - Decider. Now I banish Destiny HERO Malicious from my graveyard to special summon another copy from my deck."

"Big deal." said Jack as he wasn't impressed.

"Oh, I'm not even close to done. Since my hand is empty, I'll activate the effect of the Destiny HERO - Celestial in my graveyard. By banishing it alongside another Destiny HERO while I have nothing in my hand, I get to draw 2 cards. I'll banish Destiny HERO - Celestial and Destiny HERO - Captain Tenacious from my graveyard to draw 2 cards."

"How exciting 2 more cards for Aster." said Pegasus.

"Next, I'll activate the second effect of my Vision HERO Vyon, once per turn I can banish a 'HERO' monster from my graveyard to add Polymerization from my deck to my hand. I'll banish Destiny HERO - Diamond Dude to grab Polymerization. Now I activate this spell card, Premature Burial. By paying 800 life points, I get to return one of my monsters to the field." said Aster. "And I special summon Destiny HERO - Disk Commander back from my graveyard and activate its effect to draw 2 cards."
Aster's Life Points: 2100-

"800 life points to summon a monster that draws two cards. We're about to see if that empty cost was worth it?" said Pegasus as he informed the audience.

"And don't forget what fate has in store from last turn. Now I use the effect of the Monster Reincarnation in my graveyard to add Destiny HERO - Plasma to my hand. It's time for Plasma to return to the field, I tribute Destiny HERO - Malicious, Destiny HERO - Disk Commander, and Vision HERO Vyon." Aster's three monsters then transformed into lights as they were being used to summon a brand new monster. "Come on out, Destiny HERO - Plasma! Since you're already familiar with Plasma's abilities there's no need for me to explain them again. Destiny HERO - Plasma activate your effect to absorb Jack's monster."

"Not so fast, I activate my trap card, Fiendish Chain!" shouted Jack. "This card negates your monster's effect and paralyzes your monster. My Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend isn't going anywhere."

"Ha, ha. You took the bait." smiled Aster.

"Bait?" asked Jack.

"Although my Destiny HERO - Plasma is powerful, I'm about to use it to summon an even stronger monster. I have to admit your Synchro summons are pretty cool but I prefer combining monsters the old-fashioned way. I activate Polymerization! This card combines the Destiny HERO - Plasma on my field with the Destiny HERO - Dasher in my hand." Aster's monster then appeared as their spirits were being fused together. "The hero consuming the adversaries of faith and the hero dashing toward the inevitable destiny, now become one and reign in a pitch-black future. I Fusion Summon, Destiny HERO -Dystopia(2800/2400)!"

"Destiny HERO - Dystopia?" questioned Jack.

"Incredible." said Pegasus.

"Your future is looking bleak, Mr. Atlas. I activate the first of my Destiny HERO -Dystopia's special abilities, when I fusion summon it, I get to inflict direct damage to your life points equal to the attack points of one of its fusion materials. Since Destiny HERO - Dasher had 2100 attack points when I used it as a fusion-material, you lose 2100 life points." stated Aster.
Jack's Life Points: 1600-

"Next, I activate my trap card, D - Chain. This card increase Dystopia's attack points by 500 all the way up to 3300."

"Now it's stronger than my dragon." said Jack.

"That's true, not that it matters. Since Dystopia's attack points changed, I get to activate his effect to destroy any card on the field. Destiny HERO - Dystopia activate your effect to destroy Jack's Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend." Dystopia then leaped into the air and with a quick dash punched through Scarlight as it exploded in the air. "It's over, you have no cards left on your field and are completely vulnerable to my monster's attack. Destiny HERO - Dystopia use your 3300 attack points to attack Jack directly and end this duel!" shouted Aster.

"It's not over yet!" stated Jack. "I special summon Battle Fader(0/0)! When you declare a direct attack, I can special summon my Battle Fader to negate your attack and end your battle phase."

"That was a close one for Jack." informed Pegasus.

"That was a great play, it looks like you survived another turn. But to make sure that I do too, I'm building up my defenses. First I activate Pot of Acquisitiveness, this card lets me return 3 of my banished monsters back to my deck and draw one card. I'll send Destiny HERO - Celestial both copies of Destiny HERO - Malicious to my deck in order to draw a card. Now the two copies of Destiny HERO - Malicious will return to my deck, I'll banish the Malicious in my graveyard to special summon a copy of Malicious from my deck back onto the field in defense position. All right, Jack. That's it for my turn, you're up."

"I'm not letting you end your turn just yet, Aster. Remember when you sent my Red Cocoon to the graveyard by destroying my Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend."

"Yeah."

"Well, in the end phase of the turn that my Red Cocoon is sent to the graveyard, its effect activates allowing my Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend to reemerge. Before you turn ends, I've special summoned Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend back to the field."

"I'm impressed that you've managed to bring back such a powerful monster so easily but against my Destiny HERO - Dystopia, your Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend doesn't stand a chance."

Turn 6: Jack

"Yeah, we'll see about that. I draw. Perfect, I summon Double Resonator(0/0) to the field. This Level 1 tuner has a special ability, if its summoned I can select another monster on the field and transform that monster into a tuner as well. I'll turn my Battle Fader into a tuner." said Jack.

"This doesn't make any sense, every synchro monster I've seen requires one tuner monster plus one or more non-tuners to summon it. Why would Jack want two tuners on the field?" asked Pegasus.

"So, now you have two tuners on the field. What's the point?" asked Aster.

"You're about to see as I perform a special synchro summon that uses two tuners at once. I combine my Level 8 Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend with my Level 1 Double Resonator tuner and Level 1 Battle Fader tuner." said Jack as all of his monsters were being combined together.

"He's tuning together two tuners?" said Pegasus as both him and the audience were surprised.

"Together these monsters will call forth an absolute power destined to rule this duel, now I Synchro Summon, bow down and tremble before the Level 10 synchro monster, Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend(3500/3000)!" shouted Jack as his great new beast descended down and let out a huge roar.

"It has 3500 attack points?!" said Aster in shock.

"And that's the least impressive thing about my Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend. My Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend rules with an iron fist and wills 2 impressive effects that help it do so. It's first effect destroys all other cards on the field, its second effect will negate and destroy any spell or trap card activated in the battle phase and then grant my tyrant 500 attack points for each of those cards. Now Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend, reign in a new era of tyranny and activate your effect, destroy all cards on the field!" shouted Jack. Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend then opened its mouth as it shot off a massive fireball that decimated Aster's entire field.

"No!" shouted Aster as he saw his field get wiped out.

"Thanks to Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend's effect, now Aster is defenseless. I had to admit, you lasted longer than I thought you would Aster. But now your monsters are all gone and there's no one left to protect you from my Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend's direct attack. Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend, use your 3500 attack points to attack Aster directly and end this duel!" shouted Jack as he thrusted his arm out.

"Oh no... it's over!" shouted Pegasus. Even the crowd was on the edge of their seat as they believe it to be so.

"I wouldn't say there's no one left to stand up against the tyranny. I discard Destiny HERO - Dynatag from my hand. He's just the hero I needed, Dynatag intercepts your attack and prevents all of the battle damage that your tyrant would inflict to my life points. Thanks to Dynatag's effect, we each lose 1000 life points instead of taking any battle damage." stated Aster. Soon his monster appeared in spirit form as he stopped Jack's attack while also dishing out some damage to both players.
Aster's Life Points: 1100-

Jack's Life Points: 600-

"Thanks to Destiny HERO - Dynatag, Aster survived." stated Pegasus.

"Lucky break." said Jack. "But my Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend is still too powerful for you to beat. Even though I couldn't finish you off right now, your defeat on my next turn is inevitable. Go ahead." stated Jack as he ended his turn.

Turn 7: Aster

"I draw. I'm not planning on giving you a next turn Mr. Atlas. I'm planning on defeating you right now."

"Ha, impossible." chuckled Jack.

"We'll see."

"Let's see if Aster had what it takes to turn this duel around." said Pegasus.

"First I banish my Destiny HERO - Malicious from my graveyard to special summon the last Malicious from my deck. Next, I activate Pot of Desires. I banish the top 10 cards of my deck facedown and draw 2 new cards. Perfect, my Pot of Desires gave me everything I wanted. Now I activate Monster Reborn to bring back Destiny HERO - Dystopia. "

"My Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend is still stronger." informed Jack.

"True, but I'm not done yet. I activate Fusion Recovery. This card lets me return the Polymerization and a fusion material that I used in a Fusion Summon from my graveyard to my hand. Since I used Destiny HERO - Plasma as a fusion-material for Destiny HERO - Dystopia earlier in the duel, I'll return it to my hand along with Polymerization with the effect of my Fusion Recovery. Now it's time, I activate Polymerization! I fuse the Destiny HERO - Dystopia on my field with the Destiny HERO - Dreamer in my hand." Both monsters then had their spirits being merged and sucked into a colorful vortex. "Hero from the world of darkness, hero from the dream world, now become one and reign over the utopias twilight. I Fusion Summon, Destiny HERO - Dusktopia(3000/3000)! Destiny HERO - Dusktopia can be fusion summoned by combining Destiny HERO - Dystopia with any other 'Destiny HERO' monster and its arrival on my field sheds new light on this duel." stated Aster.

"As impressive as it may be. Dusktopia still falls 500 attack points short of my monster." said Jack.

"Oh, but it's Dusktopia's skills that allow it to shine. When its summoned, I get to combine monsters from my hand and field to fusion summon an ally for Dusktopia. I combine the Destiny HERO - Malicious on my field with the Destiny HERO - Plasma in my hand." said Aster.

"A second fusion summon for the turn?" said Pegasus.

"The hero of inevitable evil and the hero consuming the adversaries of faith become one and share your vision of victory. I Fusion Summon, Vision HERO Adoration(2800/2100)!" shouted Aster as he now had two monsters on his field. "Vision HERO Adoration is summoned by combining any two 'HERO' monsters."

"My Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend is still the strongest monster on the field."

"It won't be for long. First I activate the effect of the Destiny HERO - Dynatag in my graveyard. By banishing it, I can increase Destiny HERO - Dusktopia's attack points by 1000. Bring it up to 4000." smiled Aster.

"Oh no!" said Jack.

"Oh and it doesn't end there. Now I use the effect of my Vision HERO Adoration, once per turn, Adoration can decrease the attack and defense points of one of your monsters by the attack points of one of my HERO monsters. Since Destiny HERO - Dusktopia has 4000 attack points, your Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend loses 4000 attack and defense points. Since your monster doesn't have that many points to spare it loses all of them." smiled Aster.

"My Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend? You've stripped it of its power." said Jack as he was in disbelief.

"How the mighty have fallen." stated Aster as he looked to strike the final blow. "Now Destiny HERO - Dusktopia use your 4000 attack points, attack Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend and end this duel!!" shouted Aster as he thrusted his arm out.

"NO!!!!" shouted Jack as he watched his monster be destroyed as his life points were dropped.
Jack's Life Points: 0-

Winner: Aster Phoenix

The duel ended as the audience had given a round of applause for the two competitors for putting on a show. While Aster had a smile on his face, Jack Atlas was less than pleased as he was also shocked.

"I can't believe I lost to you!" stated Jack.

"Hey, it was destiny." said Aster in a calm tone. "Just because you haven't met someone before, that doesn't mean they won't be able to beat you in a duel. This room is full of players you haven't met and I bet a bunch of them are talented duelist just like you." said Aster as he looked at the audience. He did catch a quick glimpse at Isaac who was sitting in the crowd as he could tell the small boy had so many things ahead of him.

"Well said, Aster." said Pegasus as he congratulated Aster on his win.

"That was a great duel, Jack. You shouldn't feel bad about it." said Aster as he extended his hand out.

"I may have underestimated the quality of duelists strung to this event." said Jack as he accepted the handshake. "You beat me today, but the next time we duel. I guarantee I'll take a swift victory."

"You can try, but I think the same outcome as today is faded for our rematch." said Aster with a confident grin.

"That was a fantastic duel that I thoroughly enjoyed watching, please give it up for both duelists and the show they put on here tonight." said Pegasus as all three of them took a bow as the audience showed their appreciation.

"And that was the first ever duel I saw in person." said Isaac as he finished telling his tale.

"Man, talk about action. Two legends going at it, that's the kind of stuff people love to see." said Sunset.

"Awesome story, bud." said Spike. "So do you think that you and Sunset might have a duel like that."

"That remains to be seen." said Isaac as he looked up at the sky. "We've had our own amazing battles in the past, but to have a duel like all these dueling legends, well that's the dream. Besides, if that were to happen, the it means that I need to accomplish my goal and my 'destiny'." said Isaac as he felt much more comfortable saying that word. "And I think it may happen, I can feel it."

"Well whatever happens, know that I'm glad to have battle you, boy toy." said Sunset as she smiled at him.

"Anyways, it's getting late. And we did nothing productive today which I classify as a good day." said Spike. "Best to retreat for the night." The little dragon then started to head back to the castle as Sunset and Isaac followed him as they too were a bit tired.

I wonder if those two duels were based on those VA duels they did long ago?

Only error I see is your forgot to mention Pegasus needs to banish the top 3 cards of his deck face-down when activating Toon Kingdom(banishing top 5 cards of his deck in the anime version iirc)
