Chapter 108: Cloudsdale

"Let's see, I'll sacrifice my Baby Dragon and Ancient Dragon so that I can play Barrel Dragon(2600/2200)." said Spike as he placed the monster on the table. "Then based on its ability, I can destroy a monster on your side of the field. Just had to get two heads." Spike then pulled out a bit as he flipped it in his hand. After 3 times, Spike had managed to get have the coin land on head twice. "Nice, so I choose to get rid of your Dark Magician." said Spike as he pointed at the card. "Then, I'll have my Barrel Dragon take out your Dark Magician Girl."

"Impressive." said Isaac as he put his cards in the discard pile.

"Thanks, now let's how you take down my dragon." said Spike with a proud smile on his face.

"It looks tough," said Isaac as he picked up his card with a smirk, "but maybe this card will help. I'll now banish my Kuriboh and Mystical Elf so that I can summon my Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning." said Isaac as he played the card for Spike to see. "Now I'll have my soldier attack your Barrel Dragon and then it can attack once again due to its special ability."

"Which means, I lose." said Spike as he put his head down.

"Yeah, but still A for effort." stated Isaac as he patted the little drake on his back.

Soon the door opened as in came Twilight who had just returned from a mission called by the map.

"So, how'd it go?" asked Isaac.

"Standard stuff, Fluttershy was able to convince the two families from fighting."

"So... that big book you created that had all the possible solutions didn't help." said Spike.

"Okay, it wasn't as useful as I thought. But it did provide me with a good read." smiled Twilight.

"Still the nerd as ever." said Isaac.

"Don't call me that!" Twilight had a pouting face as she sat in her chair and crossed her arms.

"But it's true." stated Isaac with a smile on his face. "Anyways, we don't you join us. You've been meaning to play since I first showed you."

"Fine." said Twilight as she got up from her seat and took Spike's place as he grabbed stool and pulled out some gems to munch on.

"Ready." said Isaac as he finish shuffling the decks and placed it in front of the princess.

"Ready." said Twilight as she picked up her opening hand with her magic and began to engage in battle with Isaac.

The duel was certainly an action packed on as Twilight was ruthless in her moves as she managed to match Isaac blow for blow. She even was able to gain a massive lead in life points for half of the duel; even Isaac was struggling to come up with a plan to take down the princess' defenses. But he should have expected this based that she was a pony version of his girlfriend and she knew how to push Isaac to his limit. Twilight took out Isaac's Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl with ease as she had her monster ready to finish Isaac.

"Now that you're magicians are gone, time for to win. Silent Magician attack directly and end this duel." said Twilight with a smug smile.

"No way!!" said Spike as he was shocked to see Twilight about to win.

"I reveal my facedown, Mirror Force. Thanks to this, my trap reflects your attack and destroys your Silent Magician." said Isaac as he barely managed to survive Twilight's final assault.

"Buck!" said Twilight. "I nearly had you."

"You did, and that makes me proud. You went from not knowing how to play to already being an above average player. Heck, if you actually used the deck your human counterpart uses, you'd win." said Isaac.

"Well, this game really does test my mental skills. Plus, I had a wonderful teacher." said Twilight as she gave Isaac a warm smile.

"Hmm, I wonder who he is." smirked Isaac.

"Oh, just a ordinary colt. Stubborn, good-hearted, handsome." said Twilight as she traced her hoof on the table.

"Well now, I'm jealous." said Isaac as he drew his card. "Well, good game Twilight. Cause I'll summon my Magician's Valkyria and attack you one final time." With that move, Twilight lost the last bit of her life points as Isaac won their duel.

"Good game, Isaac." said Twilight as she shook his hoof.

"Trust me, that duel could have gone either way. I just got lucky being able to activate my Mirror Force card."

"That was awesome, you two." Spike was giving both of them a round of applause. "You definitely did better than I did against Isaac."

"Anyways, it's getting late. We should all turn in." said Twilight.

"Yeah." said Spike as he let out a yawn as he scratched his scales.

"Time to hit the hay." said Isaac as he picked up his cards and put them into his saddle bag.

The three of them all exited the map room as they made their way to their rooms. Isaac wished the pair a good night as he retreated to his place. He then snuggled into bed as he let out a yawn and drifted off as he let Luna work her magic.

The following day came as all the ponies were out and about. Particular one rainbow pegasus who was busying practicing her tricks for an upcoming event. She wasn't alone as Fluttershy was there who was doing her best to offer her some support.

"Now, what have we learned?" asked Rainbow as she circle around the yellow pegasus mare.

"Loss of control." said Fluttershy with a straight face as she stood still.

"Good."

"Screaming and hollering."

"Yes, and most importantly?" asked Rainbow Dash.

"Passion!" responded Fluttershy.

"Right! So now that you remember the elements of a good cheer, let's hear one."

Fluttershy took a deep breath as she let out a soft, "Yay."

"... Ugh. You're gonna cheer like that? Louder." demanded Rainbow Dash.

"Yay."

"Louder!"

"Yay."

"Louder!" shouted Rainbow.

Fluttershy took the biggest deep breath she could and with all of her lungs she said, "Yaaay," in the quietest of tone.

"Ugh.." said Rainbow as she just collapsed on the floor in frustration. "Why did I think you would get better after last time?" said Rainbow.

"Hey, keep it down." said Isaac as he was with Sunset. "My ears are ringing from all your cheering." said Isaac as he was referring to Fluttershy.

"What's with all the screaming?" asked Sunset.

"I'm just trying to get Fluttershy to get more comfortable with cheering." stated Rainbow.

"Why's that?" asked Isaac.

"Well, it just so happens that I've been invited to be a judge for the Best Young Flyer Competition in Cloudsdale. I happen to win it last time and so they asked me to come back as a representative and a judge. Can't blame them." said Rainbow as she had a proud and smug look on her face. "Plus, the Wonderbolts will be there. So it allows me to perfect chance to show them the amazing and daring tricks that I can do."

"Of course, it can't be anything normal that doesn't involve you in thinking about your overinflated ego." snickered Isaac.

"Exact... I hate you!!" shouted Rainbow.

"Hey, can't argue with the facts." responded Isaac.

"Oh, I'm killing you." stated Rainbow as she tackled Isaac into the ground and the two began to tussle as they formed a dust cloud. Sunset just rolled her eyes as she approached Fluttershy.

"So, are you also a judge?"

"Oh, no. I'm just going for morale support. For Rainbow Dash." said the yellow mare.

"Got ya!" shouted Isaac as he managed to pin Rainbow Dash as he yanked on her hind leg in an ankle lock. "Tap. Tap. Tap!"

"Alright, I give up! I tap!!!" shouted Rainbow as pounded her hoof on the ground to show she gave up.

Isaac let go of her and placed his front hoof on the her. "Pinned ya." said Isaac with a smug look. He then helped the rainbow pegasus as she dusted herself off.

"I hate when that happens." muttered Rainbow. "So, anyways, I'm just doing some last minute practices so that I can show them off to the Wonderbolts."

"Well, we wish you both the best." said Isaac.

"You don't want to come." asked Fluttershy. "Rainbow asked the others if they come, but they all had other things."

"I would, but Twilight and Spike need my assistance with some their chores." stated Isaac. "Though, I don't think Sunset has anything planned."

"I was just going to relax at the Spa, but I always did want to see Cloudsdale. Alright, I'll tag along." said Sunset.

"Nice!" shouted Rainbow.

Sometime later, Twilight was preparing her air balloon along with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. Isaac took the opportunity to speak with Sunset.

"You sure you'll be alright? I can go with you."

"It's fine, I can take care of myself. And if anything does happen, I'll just handle it like we normally do." said Sunset.

"Just be safe."

"Aren't I always." said Sunset as she gave Isaac a hug.

"Everything is ready to go." shouted Spike.

Sunset then hopped into the balloon with Rainbow and Fluttershy as Spike untied the rope. The balloon then started to rise all three mares waved goodbye to the group on the floor as they ascended into the air. While they were soaring above the clouds, Sunset had a couple of questions.

"So what's the Best Young Flyer Competition?"

"It's where all the greatest Pegasus flyers get together and show off their different flying styles!" stated Rainbow Dash. "Not to mention that the winner of the competition gets to spend the day with the Wonderbolts."

"Sounds like a nice prize." stated Sunset.

"Duh! I mean, I won it last time. And then I got to try out for the Wonderbolts as I ended up becoming a reservist member. Though, I hope that they'll eventually make me a full fledged member. I mean, I was the best flyer to come out of Cloudsdale and Equestria." said Rainbow with a prideful smile.

"Don't forget about the sonic rainboom?" chimed in Fluttershy.

"Sonic... Rainboom?" said Sunset as she had an eyebrow raised.

"It's kind of a legendary thing, you know how you in your world, there's a thing call a sonic boom." said Rainbow.

"Yeah, it's basically moving faster than the speed of sound." stated Sunset.

"Well, there's a similar thing here, but we call it a sonic rainboom. It's just basically when a pegasus goes really fast that they not only break the sound barrier but they also create a huge rainbow at the same time."

"And Rainbow Dash here's the only pony to ever pull it off!" said Fluttershy.

"Twice actually. Once when I was a filly and when the last time I had competed in the Best Young Flyer Competition when I had to save Rarity from certain doom. Heck, it's how I got my cutie mark. Well all of us." said Rainbow as she looked at Fluttershy.

"Wow, to think that something so small actually meant so much more in the long run. That sonic rainboom is actually what brought Twilight and you girls together. That's crazy." said Sunset.

"Yeah, it kind of is. But enough about that, we're here." said Rainbow as she pointed ahead. Their destination was right in front of them as the balloon landed on the clouds.

Rainbow and Fluttershy hopped off with ease as they walked on the clouds. Before leaving, Twilight had taught Sunset the spell she used last time as it would allow her to walk on clouds indefinitely till she reversed it. Soon she stepped out and to her surprise it worked as she was walking like a pegasus. Sunset then began to trot forward as she caught up with the two girls.

"Here it is: the greatest city in the sky!" Rainbow announced as they reached a spot where they could see the entire city, which was a collection of various large clouds that had building on them.

"Incredible. Even before I left Equestria, I only ever saw pictures of this place in books. It's even more outstanding in real life." said Sunset.

"Some of the greatest Pegasi have come from Cloudsdale." said Rainbow. "But the greatest of all is standing right next to you."

Fluttershy just smile at her friend's statement while Sunset rolled her eyes. "Speaking of which, isn't this where they make the weather?"

"Yeah, it's this way." said Fluttershy as she and Rainbow led Sunset to the weather factory.

It wasn't much longer before they arrived at the building to the weather factory. Ponies were hard at work as some thunder could be heard in the background as the three ponies entered. For safety protocol, each pony was geared in a white work shirt and matching hard hat.

"This is where they make the snowflakes," Rainbow explained as some ponies were hard at work crafting and collecting snowflakes, "Each one is hoofmade."

"Is that why they say no two snowflakes are alike?" asked Sunset.

"You got it," answered Rainbow, "As you can see, it's a delicate operation." She then guided them towards an area that appeared to be loaded with pools of colored paint. One already had its rainbow colors inside it.

"And here's where they make the rainbows!" said Rainbow.

"Wow," said Sunset, "It must take alot of work to get the bands of each color perfect and keep them from mixing with each other."

"Tell me about it," said Rainbow, "But that's actually a Pegasi secret."

"Bummer," said Sunset, hoping to learn about it. She then dipped her hoof into the paint and she examined it.

"Word of advice, don't put that in your mouth." said Fluttershy as she got Sunset's attention.

"Why would I do that?"

"Well, Pinkie Pie did it the last time we were here. Safe to say she found out the hard way that rainbows aren't really that tasty." chuckled Fluttershy.

"If she really wants to taste the rainbow, remind me to send her some Skittles." giggled Sunset. She then wiped her hoof on her coat as she got rid of the paint.

"Alright, moving on." stated Rainbow as she led Sunset to where they made the clouds.

They were able to show Sunset a bit more of their home as she was able to see how things worked from when she read about them from her books. She also knew that Isaac would be jealous that he got to miss out on seeing this place; it wasn't much longer before the sound of trumpets could be heard as pegasi from all over Cloudsdale gathered at the Cloudeseum to watch the competition. The crowd cheered as small groups of three to five sat on one of two rows of clouds. Inside a small area was a waiting and changing room where the competitors had registered and were ready to go. Out on one of the clouds were Fluttershy and Sunset who were getting ready to see the show. Just then, a colt named Madden appeared in the center stage riding a small cloud, which was nothing since the Cloudeseum had no floor.

"Fillies and gentlecolts!" Madden announced, "Please rise and join us in welcoming the celebrity judges for the Best Young Flyer Competition: the Wonderbolts!" Cheers and applauses were made as six ponies donning blue and yellow uniforms zoomed overhead. They did a quick flying formation before setting down on their own cloud. "And please give a warm welcome for our other celebrity judge. She's a pony that has saved Equestria on multiple occasions and is the sole pony to ever pull off a sonic rainboom. Put your hooves together for Rainbow Dash!!!"

Rainbow then zoomed above as she did a couple of fancy maneuvers as Fluttershy and Sunset cheered for her. She dazzled the crowd with her tricks as she did her signature pose and then landed next to the Wonderbolts on her own cloud; Rainbow smiled as she saw them.

"And now, let's find out who will take the prize as this year's best young flyer!" said Madden as everypony cheered.

"Okay, contestant number one, you're up!" said a pony Lucy Packard, who was the backstage organizer in charge of making sure everyone went up in a timely manner.

With that the show began, many of the competitors were nervous seeing as they would be competing in front of tons of ponies. Eventually, they all shook off their nerves as they started to showcase their skills for the Wonderbolts and Rainbow as they were impressed with what they saw. Sunset and Fluttershy was were watching from the stands as they were amazed by all the performances they saw.

"I loved number seven," said Sunset, "Doing fifteen barrel rolls in a row can't be easy."

"My favorite is number ten," commented Fluttershy, "She just looked like such a nice pony."

"Not bad from #15, though she could use a bit more confidence." said Spitfire. "What do you think, newbie?"

"I say she's got potential." stated Rainbow. "With a bit more polish, she'll be a top contender for tryouts."

"See might even break the records you set during your tryout." snickered Spitfire.

"Woah, okay. Let's not get carried away." said Rainbow.

"Up next, we have number 16." said Madden as he pointed to the curtain. "Uhm, number 16." Once again at Madden's announcement, no pegasus stepped forward. "Well, it seems number 16 failed to show up. Number 17, come on out." This time somepony stepped through as they began their routine.

"That's strange, I wonder what happened to number 16?" said Fluttershy.

"Yeah,... strange." Sunset then got up as she was a bit suspicious.

"Going somewhere, Sunset?"

"Just wanted to get a snack. Be right back, Fluttershy."

Sunset then began to exited from her seat as she made her way into the hallway and began to explore. She made her way to the waiting area as she was hoping to find some clues on the missing participant. Nothing was out of the ordinary as she examined the place and checked the changing rooms. She then peaked her head through the curtain and saw that the performances were still going. She then began to think, she then noticed a pair of stairs. Sunset had a feeling that there was something down there as she descended. The stairs led to a sort of basement room as it was still made up of clouds. She was about to turn the corner when she heard some voices.

"Well, this was a waste." said a voice. "This was suppose to be a simple scout mission and now we got caught." The voice that was shouting belonged to none other than Birdface. "We were suppose to sneak in and gain information about this place, now that one of the head figures has been taken out, it means our boss has a better chance of winning this fight and ruling this place."

"Sorry, cap." said Bladefly.

"And on top of that, we got spotted by a pony." said Birdface as he pointed to a pegasus that was tied up. The pegasus happened to be the missing participant.

"Perhaps, there's still a way to get what we what." said another Bladefly.

"I knew there would be trouble. Well, good thing I came prepared." said Sunset as she slide her deck in.

"Nevermind that, let's return back to base." said Birdface.

"And what about our hostage?" asked one of the Bladefly minions.

"Dispose of them."

"With, pleasure." Soon tons of Bladeflys began to swarm the pony as they showed their claws and set of jaws. Just as they were about to strike, a fireball was shot in their direction as it burned up a couple of the insects.

"Nice shot." said Sunset as she had summoned her Black Metal Dragon. She then began to run over to the pony that was tied up as her dragon provided cover fire. "You, okay?" asked Sunset as she freed the pegasus.

"Yeah, just a bit shaken." stated the pegasus.

"Well, get out of here." said Sunset as she pointed to the stairs. "I'll take care of this." With that the pegasus ran up the stairs as Sunset was left to deal with the threat in front of her. A couple more Bladeflys began to head towards Sunset who just commanded her Black Metal Dragon to shoot a few more shots as they were engulfed in flames and were destroyed. She then noticed the monster in charge as she confronted them.

"So, who are you working for?"

"That's none of your business." said Birdface.

"Let me guess, one of the remaining five leaders competing against each other to see who can conquer all of Equestria." stated Sunset.

"So, you know? However, I won't tell you who that is."

"Oh, don't worry, I'm sure I'll run into him soon. And then I'll take him down. But for now, I think I'll start with you." said Sunset as she activated her duel disk and projected a red card tray.

"Then I better make sure that you don't leave this place alive." said Birdface as he called off the rest of his minions. He then showed a duel disk as he activated it. "Now then, prepare to pay the price for sticking in your nose in our business."

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.

Birdface's Life Points: 8000-

Sunset's Life Points: 8000-

Turn 1: Birdface

"I'll start," said Birdface as he drew his card. "I'll play Cloudian - Sheep Cloud(0/0) in defense mode." Soon one of the clouds around them started to move towards the playing field as a face appeared on it and had a smile. "Next, I'll throw a facedown and end my turn."

Turn 2: Sunset

"My move, so stand back." said Sunset as she drew her card. His monster only has 0 attack and defense points. It's basically no threat, so... that must mean it has a powerful effect. Gotta be careful then. "I summon Red-Eyes Wyvern in attack mode. Next, I'll have my Red-Eyes Wyvern attack your Cloudian - Sheep Cloud!" Red-Eyes Wyvern heard Sunset's command as it took flight and sliced and diced its target. Soon the pieces left behind started to take shape as two more cloud creatures took place.

"What gives?" asked Sunset.

"My monster's special ability. When you destroyed my Cloudian - Sheep Cloud, you allowed me to summon 2 'Cloudian Tokens'(0/0) in defense mode." True to Birdface's word, two clouds formed on his field.

"Wasn't expecting that, but no matter. I'll then place one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 3: Birdface

"My draw, now I'll sacrifice my 2 tokens so that I can play Cloudian - Eye of the Typhoon(3000/1000) in attack mode." Both cloud tokens then began to merge together as it started to form a blue cloud as it soon had one eye sticking out. "Next, I'll play my Quick Summon spell card, so now I can normal summon one monster. So I'll summon my Cloud - Altus(1300/0) in attack mode." Another cloud started to take shape as this time it was a lighter color and had a slightly bigger stomach.

"Now my Cloud - Altus' ability activates, when its summoned I can place a 'Fog Counter' on each Cloudian monster that I control and since I have two at the moment, I gain 2 counters." said Birdface. (Counter 2). "Then I'll play the continuous spell card, Cloudian Squall. So now during each of my Standby Phase, I can place a 'Fog Counter' for every monster on the field. Next, I'll have my Cloudian - Eye of the Typhoon attack your Red-Eyes Wyvern. My monster makes it so that whenever it attacks, it changes the battle position of all faceup monsters."

"Well, that was stupid, cause now my life points will be safe." stated Sunset as her dragon shifted modes.

"Not when I reveal my facedown, my continuous trap card Natural Disaster. Now everytime a card(s) you control is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, I can deal you 400 points of damage." said Birdface. Eye of the Typhoon then raised its fist as it took out Sunset's monster.
Sunset's Life Points: 7600-

"Now that you have no monster's left on your field, I'll attack you directly with my Cloud - Altus." Birdface then gave his monster its command. It then appeared in front of Sunset as it inhaled as much air it could and then blew it all at the orange unicorn.
Sunset's Life Points: 6300-

"Hey, what gives? I thought you said that all faceup monsters change battle positions due to your Cloudian - Eye of the Typhoon when it attacks."

"That's true, however, my Cloudian monsters have no effect. So that means my monsters are safe." stated Birdface. "Now, I'll end my turn."

Turn 4: Sunset

"Bout time." said Sunset. Alright, what to do? As long as that Eye of the Typhoon is out, he can just change the battle positions of my monsters, and then his trap makes it so that whenever my monsters are destroyed, I take 400 points of damage. "Now, I'll play my Cards of the Red Stone, so now I send one Level 7 'Red-Eyes' from my hand and deck in order to draw 2 cards." Sunset then sent a pair of her Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon to the graveyard as she picked up some more cards. "Next, I'll play Polymerization and I'll combine my Red-Eyes Black Dragon with my Summoned Skull." Sunset then held both of her cards up high with her magic as a vortex appeared and both cards were sucked in as they merged together. "I Fusion Summon, Archfiend Black Skull Dragon!" shouted Sunset as she called upon one of her most powerful monsters in her deck.

"Next, I'll play the Black Stone of Legend and then I'll activate it's ability. So I tribute it so that I can summon my Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon from my deck." Sunset now had another powerful monster on her side of the field as both let out a cry. "Now, time to strike. Archfiend Black Skull Dragon take out his Cloudian - Eye of the Typhoon! Thanks to my monster's effect, you can't activate any cards till the end of the damage step." Sunset gave her monster its command as it fired off an attack that collided with the cloud monster as it caused a smokescreen to appear.
Birdface's Life Points: 7800-

"What?" said Sunset as the smoke cleared and standing there was the monster perfectly fine. "Your monster should have been destroyed, and there's no way you could have activated any card effects since my dragon's ability nullifies it during the battle."

"It's cause my Cloudian monsters come equip with the ability to not be destroyed in battle. So even your most powerful monster can't take down my clouds." stated Birdface as he had a sly smile on his face.

"Your monsters may not be destroyed by physical attacks, but that doesn't mean your life points are safe. Cause now I'll have my Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon attack your Cloud - Altus!" Sunset's other dragon then brought its claw down on the monster as it just absorbed the attack.
Birdface's Life Points: 6700-

"And you're about to feel a whole lot more burn, cause now the other effect of my Archfiend Black Skull Dragon activates. So since it did damage this turn, I can now deal you damage equal to my Red-Eyes Black Dragon's attack in my graveyard and then I can shuffle it back into my deck." Sunset's monster then had her Red-Eyes appear in spirit form as it shot towards Birdface in a blaze of fire.
Birdface's Life Points: 4300-

"With that, I'll end my turn." Sunset's duel disk then moved her Red-Eyes card from the graveyard and slotted it back on top of the deck as the autoshuffler kicked in.

Turn 5: Birdface

"My turn, draw. And now my Cloud Squall activates, which means all faceup monsters get a 'Fog Counter'." Soon all monster had a cloud appear above them. (Counter: 6). "Now the total counters is 6. Which is more than enough than enough when especially when I summon my Cloud - Cirrostratus(900/0) in attack mode. Now all my 'Cloudian' monsters each gain another counter." Birdface then had another cloud monster on his field as it had a cute face. (Counter: 9). "Now, I'll activate the effect of my Cloud - Altus, now I can remove 3 Fog Counters from anywhere on the field so that I can discard a card from your hand." Birdface then removed the Fog Counters from Sunset's monster and from Cirrostratus itself as it formed a strong breeze as Sunset kept herself from moving as a card was sent flying from her hand and to the graveyard. (Counter: 6).

"But it doesn't stop there, cause now I'll activate the effect of Cloud - Cirrostratus. So I remove two more Fog Counters, so that I can destroy 1 monster on the field. So say goodbye to your Archfiend Black Skull Dragon!" Birdface then removed two more counters from his Cloud- Altus as it blew a giant wind as it swept Sunset's monster off the field and destroyed it. (Counter: 4).
Sunset's Life Points: 5900-

"Don't forget about my Natural Disaster, since you lost your monster, you lost 400 life points. And now I'll have my Cloudian - Eye of the Typhoon attack your Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon! And my monster's ability makes it so that it switches to defense mode." Sunset's monster then shifted positions as Eye of the Typhoon brought its fist down on it and took it out. Sunset then felt the aftereffect as she lost some more life points.
Sunset's Life Points: 5500-

"Now time to strike with my other monsters. Attack!" shouted Birdface.

"Hold on, since you destroyed my monster its effect kicks in. So now I can summon now summon 1 Level 7 or lower 'Red-Eyes' from my graveyard. So I choose to revive one of my Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon!" Sunset then had a monster on her field as it appeared in front of Birdface's monsters. "And that's not all, cause now I activate Miracle's Wake, so now my Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon is back in play." Once more, Sunset now had another monster on her field as it let out a cry.

"Annoying little unicorn, I'll call off my attack. Then I'll play Card of Sanctity to give each of us a brand new hand. Next, I'll set one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 6: Sunset

"My turn, time to kick things up a notch. Cause since I have two level 7 monsters on my field, I'm going to overlay them." Sunset's two dragons then transformed into two purple energies as a vortex in the hole opened up and a pillar of light shot out. "I construct the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon, Red-Eyes Metal Flare Dragon!" Out came Sunset's dragon as it let out a roar and had its units circling around it.

Meanwhile up above in the Cloudeseum, Rainbow felt the roar of Sunset's monster as it caused her cloud to shake.

"Woah, did you guys feel that?" asked Rainbow.

"Probably just some turbulence." said Spitfire as she continued to watch the performances.

"Now as long as my Red-Eyes has Xyz materials, you can't destroy it with card effects. So your Cirrostratus' effect is useless. Next, I throw two facedowns and then have my monster attack your Cloudian - Cirrostratus!" Red-Eyes Metal Dragon then opened its mouth as it fired off a fireball that clouded with Cirrostratus as the sound of thunder was heard that even the ponies above them could hear it.
Birdface's Life Points: 2400-

"With that, I'll end my turn." said Sunset.

Turn 7: Birdface

"Now then, draw. First the effect of my Cloudian Squall grants all faceup monsters on the field with a Fog Counter." Soon all monsters had a cloud appear above them as the number shot up. (Counter: 8).

"Well, this time it's my turn to dish out some damage. Cause thanks to my Red-Eyes Metal Flare Dragon's effect, anytime you activate a card or effect, you take 500 points of damage. So since you used your spell card, you now lose 500 more life points." smiled Sunset.
Birdface's Life Points: 1900-

"Now I'll sacrifice my Cloudian - Cirrostratus so that I can summon my Cloudian Nimbusman(1000/1000) in attack mode." Cirrostratus then began to disperse as it more clouds began to form together as a brand new monster appeared. "Like all my other Cloudian monsters, whenever Nimbusman is summoned, I can place a counter on each of my own monster so I gain four more." (Counter: 12).

"Don't forget, since you activate an effect you take 500 points of damage." stated Sunset as her dragon burned away some more points.
Birdface's Life Points: 1400-

"That's a small price to pay, especially when I'm about to deal some heavy damage right back. Cause now my Nimbusman gains 500 extra attack points for every Fog Counter that I have, so since I eleven Fog Counters, my Nimbusman gains 6000 points making him have a grand total of..."

"7000!" shouted Sunset as her eyes widen.

"Now my monster take out Sunset's dragon!" commanded Birdface. Nimbusman raised its fist and was about to strike Sunset's monster.

"I activate a trap, Gravity Bind. Now thanks to this, all Level 4 or above monsters can't attack." said Sunset.

"What?" shouted Birdface as he saw his halted its attack. "You'll pay for that, I'll then place one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 8: Sunset

"My turn, and now I'll have my Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon attack."

"But how, your Gravity Bind makes it so that any monster that level 4 or higher can't attack." stated Birdface.

"Then it's a good thing that Xyz monsters don't have levels, they have ranks. Which means my trap card won't work on my monsters. So now my dragon, attack his Cloudian - Altus and end this duel!" said Sunset as her monster prepared to finish this battle.

"I reveal my facedown, Gift of the Mystical Elf. So now I gain 300 life points for every monster on the field." said Birdface as he got a boost of 1200 more life points.
Birdface's Life Points: 2600-

"Doesn't change the fact, that you're still gonna lose life points." said Sunset as her dragon subtracted some of the life points Birdface got.
Birdface's Life Points: 1100-

"And don't forget, you lose another 500 life points since you activated your trap card. Now then, I'll play Red-Eye Insight, so by sending my Red-Eyes Black Dragon from my deck to my hand, I can add a 'Red-Eyes' spell/trap card to my hand." Sunset then used her duel screen as she selected the card she wanted and slotted out for her to grab. "Next, I'll use the effect of my Black Stone of Legend in my grave. So I return it to my hand and the other Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon in my grave back to my deck. Now, I'll end my turn."
Birdface's Life Points: 600-

Turn 9: Birdface

"Now then, once more my spell allows me to gain even more counters." Birdface's spell then did its magic as the number of total counters increased by 4. (Counter: 16).

"Don't forget, you lose another 500 points since your spell activated."
Birdface's Life Points: 100-

"Time for me to exterminate that dragon! First with more counters, my Nimbusman gets stronger, 2000 more points stronger." Nimbusman's stats then shot to 9000. "Now, I'll play Dian Keto the Cure Master to give myself 1000 life points." said Birdface.
Birdface's Life Points: 1100-

"Once more, you lose 500 life points." stated Sunset.
Birdface's Life Points: 600-

"Now I'll play Mystical Space Typhoon and with it, I'll get rid of your Gravity Bind." With that a storm blew over as it took out Sunset's trap.

"Don't forget your spell doesn't come without a price."
Birdface's Life Points: 100-

"Now time to deal you some serious damage. Nimbusman, attack Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon and end this duel!" Nimbusman then raised its fists as it look to end Sunset.

"I'll use the effect of Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon's effect, so by using one overlay unit, I can summon out my Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" Sunset now had her dragon. "Then I reveal my facedown, Nutrient Z. So now I gain 4000 life points."
Sunset's Life Points: 9500-

Nimbusman then made contact with Sunset's dragon as it was destroyed as it caused Sunset to be thrown against the wall which thankfully was made up of clouds as it offer a soft impact.
Sunset's Life Points: 3800-

"You may have survived, but that doesn't mean your life points are safe, cause now Cloudian - Eye of the Typhoon take out your Red-Eyes B. Dragon! And then Cloudian - Altus will attack your life points." Sunset's monster then destroyed as she took another hit.
Sunset's Life Points: 2500-

"And don't forget about my Natural Disaster card, for every card of yours that was destroyed this turn, you take 400 points of damage, and I destroyed three cards. So you lose 1200 life points." said Birdface as Sunset felt the effect of the card as it caused her to fall down.
Sunset's Life Points: 1300-

"Now I'll activate the effect of my Cloudian - Altus, so by removing 3 Fog Counters, I can discard 1 card from your hand. With that I'll end my turn." (Counter: 13).

Turn 10: Sunset

"My turn, and now I'm going to end this. To start, I'll play Pot of Greed so I draw two more cards. Nice, now time to take down your monsters."

"Good luck, my Nimbusman has a whooping 9000 attack points. Not to mention that it can't be destroyed in battle." said Birdface with a smug smile.

"True, but I'm talking about it's defense points. And it starts with this, I play the Black Stone of Legend. And then I'll tribute it so that I can summon my Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning!" Sunset's stone then started to crack as bits of light came from it and then opened up as her new monster appeared. "Now time to activate Archfiend's ability, now it can destroy all faceup monsters you control that have less defense points than my monster's attack points."

"Wait, what!?!" cawed Birdface as he looked at his field. "But my monsters don't have any defense points."

"Precisely, which means it time some precipitation!" shouted Sunset. She then gave her monster's its command as it caused some intense flames that caused all of the Cloudian monsters to fell themselves starting to evaporate as they started to get bigger and bigger until they popped and the steam caused bits of rain to come down. "Now time to end this, Archfiend attack him directly!!!" stated Sunset. Archfiend heard Sunset's command as it shot a pillar of fire towards Birdface who was completely defenseless.

"CAW!!!!!!!!!" shouted Birdface as well as the remaining Bladeflys who were caught in the attack as they all disappeared into particles.
Birdface's Life Points: 0-

Winner: Sunset

The duel ended as Sunset's monster gave one final cry as it disappeared back into her deck. Sunset then flipped her mane as she had a smile on her face. Once she made sure there was nothing remaining, she then started to make her way back up the stairs and back to her seat. She was able to make it back just as the show had reached its final performances.

"Oh, there you are, Sunset. I was beginning to worry." stated Fluttershy.

"Well, there was a long line." stated Sunset.

Soon the winner was announced as Rainbow awarded the pegasus and gave them the trophy. Once the event was over, she then met up with Fluttershy and Sunset.

"Hey, guys. What did you think?"

"Stellar." said Sunset.

"I know, though I have to ask. Did any of you girls hear that rumble earlier?" asked Rainbow.

"Rumble? What rumble?" said Fluttershy. "I didn't hear anything, did you, Sunset?"

"Not a thing." stated Sunset with a smug tone.

"Huh? Weird. Oh well." shrugged Rainbow.

"Come on, girls. Time we head back to Ponyville." said Sunset as she started walking. The three ponies then got into the air balloon as they started on their way back home.

A pretty nice chapter there.
The duel was pretty good.

"Yeah, but still A for effort." stated Isaac as he patted the little drake on his back.

Still bad Spike lost though.. Even if Spike gave it his all, it still hurts he ultimately loses in the end no matter how hard he tries..
Especially since it looks like he lost his first ever duel there..

"That was awesome, you two." Spike was giving both of them a round of applause. "You definitely did better than I did against Isaac."

Which adds salt to Spike's wound with showing he's ultimately outshined/overshadowed by others in the end..

"Wow, to think that something so small actually meant so much more in the long run. That sonic rainboom is actually what brought Twilight and you girls together. That's crazy." said Sunset.

And its what caused Spike to be born too.
Wished the show could have utilized that fact more. Like wouldn't his destiny be tied with the girls too? But sadly it seems like destiny tries to have it so Spike is ultimately excluded from the girls and their bond due to not being an Element bearer..

Actually Nimbusman places counters on itself for each Water monster tributed for its summon(and can tribute any number of water monsters for its summon). Since it looks like you are using the anime versions of the Cloudians(given how Natural Disaster can be triggered by non-Cloudians popping cards and doing 400 damage instead of 500). Nimbusman's anime effect would be it just places one counter onto itself regardless and lowers a monster's ATK by 500 for each water monster tributed.

Nutrient Z can only be activated during the Damage Step, so Sunset can't activate her xyz monster's revival effect there.
So she might want to use Red Eyes Black Flare Metal Dragon's revival effect first and then wait till the Damage Step happens to activate Nutrient Z there.
