Chapter 76: Power Couple
A door opened up and in stepped through a boy and a girl as they locked the door behind them. They then sat at a table in their room as they pulled up a couple of chairs; the boy then pulled out a flashdrive as the girl pulled out a laptop and hooked it up to her duel disk.
"Here's the file that you requested." stammered the boy.
"Good." said the girl as she typed something into her computer. She then pushed a button as a video projected from her duel disk as it played for both of them.

"I now summon my Dark Magician!" shouted Isaac.
(Pause)
"Stop the video!" said the girl. Her partner did just that as she looked closely at Isaac and his star monster. "Interesting. Run the next video." The girl's partner did just that as they played the next couple of videos as it displayed many duels that Isaac had been in his whole life. She was impressed with what she saw as she found Isaac to be a person of interest; she even saw the duel that had Isaac taking on Slifer. "Alright that's enough."
"So? Any thoughts?" said the boy as he adjusted his glasses.
"Many. Now then let's see about Twilight." demanded the girl as she felt a personal grip with Twilight. Her partner then played the next set of videos as they watched and extracted anything useful. "Not much, typical dueling style. Still to think she used to attend Crystal Prep means she knows every single detail about dueling mechanics."
"Well, given that we'll be facing them in the finals tomorrow night, we should probably prep our decks. So uhm what combination do you want do?" asked the boy.
"I already have my selection, we just need to work on yours. Maybe it's time we use that deck of yours from way back." said the girl.
"A-Are you sure? It's been a while since I last played it, in fact the last I used it was when I left home and you for school." said the boy.
"Exactly, nothing like old times to crush our opponents." The girl then gave a sly smile. "Plus, it does give you a certain charm to you."
"O-Oh." stuttered the boy as his partner was giving him that look.
"Here's to Isaac and Twilight to winning the Duos Cup!" said Pinkie as she lifted her soda into the air.
"Uh, little sis, you know that me and Twilight still have to win our duel to be crowned the winners."
"Yeah, but we already know that you two are going to win. I mean we basically got an undefeated duo in you two. Especially with Isaac's skill." stated Dash as she zipped her soda through her straw.
"Still, we shouldn't get too overconfident. Whoever our opponents are, they must be very good if they made it all the way to the finals." said Twilight as she played her straw as she thought about their opponents.
"We understand, darling. But we also believe that you and Isaac will win. So stop worrying and just enjoy the moment."
"I guess." Twilight was still hesitant on whole issue but decided to drop it to avoid ruining the atmosphere.
With that the whole group celebrated the night away as they began to discuss the victory party that Pinkie had planned for the two of them. Soon it was nighttime as everybody left for their own room; thankfully, Isaac's room was next to Twilight. So Twilight took this opportunity to talk with her boyfriend alone. She then opened the door and they both entered her room as Isaac closed the door.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" asked Isaac.
Twilight then sat on her bed as she patted the spot next to her; Isaac took the invitation as he wanted to find out what was making his girl so nervous. Twilight then began to speak.
"You know our friends are already confident in us winning this event."
"Couldn't blame them? I mean, I am good, not gonna lie." said Isaac with a smug tone.
"Will you be serious!?" shouted Twilight. "I just don't want them to get their hopes up and then we lose. They're counting on us and I don't want to let them down."
Isaac then put his hand on Twilight's shoulder as she lifted her head up. "Twilight, they're our friends. Win or lose, they'll be proud of us. And I could neve get mad at you if we lost, I love you too much for that." Isaac then leaned in and gave her a quick peck as he booped her nose.
Twilight just giggled at Isaac's actions. "I guess. I'm just really cautious about our final obstacle in winning the Duos Cup. This may be our toughest challenge to face. I just want to be prepared for anything."
"I understand. Why don't we do a bit of research on who our opponents are?" suggested Isaac.
That got Twilight in a much happier mood as she pulled out her laptop from her backpack as she logged into the Duos Cup database and then hooked up her duel disk. It took a while but after some cross-referencing her laptop was able to bring up the results of the Duos Cup and then pulled up the two profiles of their opponents. One picture was a girl who had moderate persian blue eyes; she had pale, light grayish heliotrope skin and her hair consisted of moderate purple with lighter purple and pale light, with grayish aquamarine highlights. She also had a purple beanie/hat on her head with some star patterns, and a watch on her left wrist. She also had a black vest over a green shirt as she wore gray pants with a couple of holes in them and black shoes. The next picture was her partner as it was a boy. He had a brilliant gamboge skin tone with light apple greenish gray spots.. His hair consisted of a vivid and brilliant vermillion, while his eyes were gradient of dark cornflower blue to moderate cyan. The most unusually thing was that he wore a sort of cloak/robe that had a few star patterns on it.
"So who are they?" asked Isaac.
Twilight then clicked on their profile as their basic info appeared. "It says that their names are Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst. They're from a place called Sire's Hollow," Twilight then worked her magic as she typed in some things into her laptop. "They're a formidable team, says here they won tons of tag team events. In fact, they're so in sync and have tremendous chemistry that many people call them the 'Power Couple'."
"Weird name." said Isaac.
Twilight just rolled her eyes at Isaac's comment. "Anyways, they've got some skills. Woah!"
"What? What is it?"
"Look here," said Twilight as she clicked on another part of their profile and it pulled up their decks. "They're very versatile; says here they use multiple decks."
"Like?" said Isaac as he raised his eyebrow.
"Apparently, Starlight uses tons of decks that use spellcasters, just like us. Hmm... Arcana Force, Fortune Lady, Lightsworn, even..." Twilight stopped as she looked at the next deck.
Isaac then peered over her shoulder and read it out loud. "Spellbook." Isaac then looked at Twilight as she had a gasp, he then started to stroke her hair as he was trying to calm her down from freaking out. "It's okay, Twi. So what if she uses a deck that's basically the same one as yours?"
"Just... That... I don't know!" Twilight was now starting to panic which was quickly cut off as Isaac leaned in and gave her a kiss as he tried to drown out her screams which took a while as she soon got into the moment as she put her hand to Isaac's face. Soon they broke apart as they stared into each other's eyes.
"Better? Or do I have to do this again. Cause either way, it's a win-win." chuckled Isaac as he looked at Twilight.
"Yeah... I'm calm now." Twilight took a deep breath as she leaned into Isaac's chest as he just stroke her ponytail.
"Now is there anything else?" asked Isaac.
Twilight then stood up as she looked back at Starlight's profile. "Says here that her main deck is a Constellar deck. Knowing that we can expect her to have many Xyz monsters. Meaning that she'll be able to summon out her rank 3-5 monsters out very quickly." said Twilight as she was trying to remember what she knew about this certain archetype.
"Don't forget, most non Xyz-'Constellar' monsters so far have effects that trigger upon Summon and focus on swarming and toolboxing(searching)." chimed in Isaac. "However the weakness of this archetype is that their monsters, except their Xyz monsters, focus heavily on their own archetype. Meaning that she won't have too many non- 'Constellar' monsters in her deck as it could mess up her playstyle."
"God the way you explain stuff like this is so... Attractive. In fact, it kind turns me on." Twilight had some red on her face as she looked at Isaac.
"Remember, Twilight. Focus on my eyes and not on me." said Isaac with a sly smile on his face. "Now what about Sunburst?"
Twilight then clicked on Sunburst's profile and it pulled up his deck stats. "Hmm... Similar to Starlight as he's a fan of spellcasters. Silent Swordsman/Magician, Arcana Force, Noble Knight." She then tried to see what Sunburst's main deck was but nothing came up. "What? It doesn't list his main deck. How can that be?"
"Weird. Oh well." said Isaac as he shrugged his shoulders. "Not much we can do now." Isaac then laid down on Twilight's bed as he had his arms behind his head.
"How you can say that!? Don't you think it's weird that for some reason we can't see his main deck. Perhaps both of them did something and hacked into the system to conceal it." Twilight was trying to get Isaac to take this seriously.
"Even if that's the case, we shouldn't worry about it. A duel is all about knowing what your opponent has and being able to come up with the proper strategy to counter them. But sometime not knowing adds some suspense to a competitor and that's enticing cause it forces you to see how good you can adjust on the fly. I like that." said Isaac as he had a smile on his face while looking as Twilight's ceiling.
Twilight understood what Isaac was saying and soon she just let it go. Whatever deck they should face tomorrow, she knew that both her and Isaac could handle it. She then thought of something as a lightbulb went off in her head.
"What the?" said Isaac as he felt something on him. He saw Twilight was now sitting on his chest which caused him to sweat a bit as she looked at him with bedroom eyes. "Uh... Twilight, what are you doing?"
Twilight then undid her ponytail as she let her hair flow down to her shoulders. She then leaned down and gave Isaac a seductive kiss as she moaned into it. Twilight broke away as she started to trace her finger along Isaac's neck. "Thought I give you something 'enticing', you said it yourself you like this sort of thing."
"I... Meant in a duel. Not... You know... We're still teenagers." Isaac was really starting to sweat at what Twilight was suggesting. Not to mention that her touch was soft as she had this magical touch that caused him to stutter when Twilight did this sort of stuff.
"Shh. Anybody ever tell you that you talk too much." said Twilight with some seductive in her voice as she put her finger to Isaac's mouth. She then leaned down and gave Isaac a kiss as she laid down on his chest. Soon their kissing session resulted in both of them falling asleep as the cuddled with each other for the night.
Morning came and both Isaac and Twilight were currently having some breakfast; their friends had decided to explore more of the place as well as give both of them some time alone to prepare for their big duel ahead of tonight. So right now, Twilight had her notebook out as she was writing down somethings from her laptop and going over them with Isaac as he just sat and ate his food. Meanwhile above them looking on a balcony was their opponents who they would face later tonight.
"You sure about this, Starlight?"
"Relax, Sunburst. We're not gonna do anything to harm them." said Starlight with a sinister smile/voice. "We're just 'scouting our competition', all teams do that before a big match."
"Still, it just doesn't feel right?" stuttered Sunburst.
"Don't tell me that now you're getting cold feet? And right before our match, I thought we were friends." Starlight then moved closer to Sunburst as she started to touch his arm. "I thought I was special to you."
"Y-You are. You're my best friend." stated Sunburst as Starlight's actions were causing him to sweat.
"Then do this, if not for the team, then for little old me." Starlight batted her eyelashes at Sunburst.
"O-Okay."
"Excellent!" Starlight then gave Sunburst a quick hug.
Soon she broke from it as she pushed Sunburst to the side as she watched Isaac and Twilight stand up. She couldn't exactly hear what they were saying, but she did hear Isaac say that he wanted to explore the place. So with that he suggested that they go off on their own for a while and met up in the main tent before their big match. Twilight nodded as they each gave a hug and a brief kiss as they went off in different directions.
Starlight smiled evilly at the opportunity. "Now's our chance. Remember, we're here to 'get to know' our opponents. So let's pretend to be their 'friends', that way they can lower their guard and then we crush whatever is left of them. Oh, won't they be surprised to find out just how manipulative I can be." Starlight then brought her fingers together as she cackled evilly.
"Yes, Starlight." said Sunburst as he had his orders. With that he then left to find Isaac while Starlight was left to deal with Twilight.
Isaac was in a gift shop of sorts as he was looking to possibly buy some sort of gift for Twilight seeing as he still had a fair bit of money from his Blackjack dealings back in Las Pegasus. Isaac was busying looking through the many choices that he didn't notice Sunburst had entered the same place. Sunburst soon saw Isaac as he was still against this idea. But given that Starlight was his best friend, he didn't want to do anything to ruin that relationship, especially when he was hoping for something more. He quickly put that thought out of his head as he made his way to Isaac.
"Pop quiz: What artwork is shown in the background of the fusion card, Dark Calvary?" asked Sunburst.
Isaac turned around to see who was asking the question. He saw Sunburst and he just smiled as he answered the question, "That's easy it's Dark Magical Circle."
"Alright, to activate the trap card known as 'Huge Revolution'. Name the 3 cards that need to be present on the playing field? How many folks are shown in the 'Heavy Storm' spell card? What's the signature monsters of the great duelists from the past?" asked Sunburst in rapid fire.
"People Running, Oppressed People, and United Resistance. 3 people. Dark Magician, Elemental Hero Neos, Stardust Dragon, and Number 39: Utopia." said Isaac. "What is this kindergarten, give me a hard one?"
"Alright then, name three special ways to win a duel?" said Sunburst as he had a smile on his face.
Isaac had to think about that last one, he put his hand to his chin as he was searching through his knowledge about Duel Monsters. "Okay, it's Exodia, Destiny Board, and..." Isaac was tapping his head as he tried to remember what the last answer was. "Final Countdown!" said Isaac with conviction.
Sunburst was surprised at Isaac being able to guess all of his questions correctly. "That's right. Wow, you got all of them correct, you really do know your Duel Monsters knowledge."
"What can I say, I've got a special talent when it comes to Duel Monsters." chuckled Isaac. "But you also showed some intellect by asking all those questions. I'm Isaac."
"I already know who you are." Sunburst's comment caused Isaac to raise an eyebrow. "I-I mean what I meant to say is that I heard about you. I'm Sunburst." He then extended his hand out for Isaac to shake.
Ahh, so he's our opponent for tonight. Got to say wasn't expecting him to sound like that. "Nice to meet you Sunburst. Guess everybody knows about me and Twilight based on how well we've done so far. So, looking forward to our duel this evening." asked Isaac.
"One could make that theory." Sunburst kept playing with his glasses as he remembered Starlight's plan.
"Got to say, what's with the cape? Seems kind unusual, especially given how hot it must get." stated Isaac.
"I prefer to call it a robe, not to mention that it has my love for astrology on it. Besides, I could make the same assumption on your current attire. You're wearing a hoodie and cap in this kind of weather." said Sunburst.
"Hey this is called being casual. Plus I look damn good in it." said Isaac as he pointed to how he was dressed. "So what are you doing here, I would assume that you would be prepping for our showdown later tonight."
"Well at it happens, I'm a huge fan of antiquing. Looking for historical knickknacks, ancient relics, etc... I really look forward to a blind buy." stated Sunburst as he had a giddy smile on his face.
"Blind buy?" asked Isaac as he was confused on what Sunburst was talking about.
"Mm-mmm. Sometimes shops get too busy to go through everything, so they load up a box or barrel and sell it without knowing what's inside. Buying one is sort of like a treasure hunt."
"I see, just out of curiosity, is there any thing Duel Monsters related?"
"But of course!" exclaimed Sunburst. "Nothing like digging around and discovering stuff that was used by duelists who came before us. Especially the duelists that paved the way and carried on the generation. Why I even found an old key that used to belong to a boy that ushered in the way of Xyz summon. Not to mention an old piece of Duel Runner that found that belonged to someone called Satellite's Shooting Star; the same person that revolutionized dueling by performing the very first Synchro Summons. I even found an old medal that belonged to the best fusion summoner as it had a the initials GX on it."
Sunburst explaining the different sorts of things that he found in terms of Duel Monsters really caught his attention. "That sounds pretty interesting, say mind if I tag along. I mean, I may not be big fan of it, but maybe I could find something that belonged to someone special." Maybe even my idol.
"I don't mind." stated Sunburst as he and Isaac left the gift shop and proceeded to the next building over.
Once they got in there, Sunburst let out a sound that resembled a lot like a horse neighing as he went into full blown overdrive. Isaac knew what that feeling was like based on how Twilight would get like that whenever she was surrounded by books, man did he love that cute little nerd. Soon he decided to check on Sunburst to make sure that he didn't get hurt or that he was still breathing. The time pasted by with Sunburst explaining about the different stuff he found to Isaac; Isaac did his best to sound invested. Half the stuff Sunburst talked about was interesting as it allowed him to make some connections with things he learned about in history class. The other time he simply just smiled and waved as he pretended to understand what Sunburst was telling him. Eventually, Isaac found something that caught Sunburst's attention as he showed it to him. Turns out it was a puzzle-like pyramid that had a chain wrapped around it with a millennium symbol in the middle; Sunburst kept trying to tell Isaac that he found something priceless, but he didn't buy it. So Isaac just merely threw it back onto the pile of junk as he kept on looking. Some time had passed as Sunburst had made a blind buy as he received a box full of stuff. He dropped it off in his room as he hoped to check it out later; now he was sitting at a table across from Isaac as they stopped to get some lunch.
Safe to say that Sunburst was having a natural interaction with Isaac as he didn't worry so much about Starlight's plan. They began to talk about each other and their different lifestyles growing up. Sunburst was surprised that Isaac came from somewhere big and that he had a fascination for the game since he was little. Isaac then showed Sunburst his deck as well as his star monsters. Sunburst had already know about them seeing as how he watched them secretly from the shadows. Soon they began to talk about other things and soon Isaac touched on a topic that caused Sunburst to sweat.
"So Sunburst, why do they call you and Starlight the 'Power Couple'?" asked Isaac as he zipped his drink. "I mean, for one thing you guys seem to be more friends, even partners than a couple. I mean I get the 'power' part."
"It's just a silly name that people from our home came up with. Whenever me and Starlight would team up, we were basically unstoppable. Not to mention that we worked so well with each other that we functioned as team and stayed in sync nearly everytime. Growing up we had to learn about dueling and all its mechanics on our own. So we basically grew up together and that's how we became close friends. It got to the point where we were never without one another, in fact, the other people in our home started to tease us and say that basically we were like a couple. Although, I doubt Starlight ever thought much about it."
Isaac just smiled at hearing Sunburst's story. "Well that's one heck of a tale."
"Yeah." Sunburst then looked at his drink as it showed his reflection. "Listen, Isaac. Do you maybe have some advice?"
"Advice? About what?"
"How do I word this? Let's just say that I have my sights set on someone who's out of my league. When we're face to face, I back down. Whattya think I should do?"
Isaac just had a raised eyebrow at Sunburst's question. "That's easy! Trust in yourself, and you'll win any match!"
"Uhh... Thanks. To be honest, I wasn't asking for dueling advice."
"What?"
"More on advice on romance." Sunburst had a bit of a hard time saying that word out loud.
"Ugh!" said Isaac as he wasn't expecting that answer. "Well, that's whole different story man. I don't think I'm the right person for that. No offense, but I'm a duelist not a lover."
"But I'd figured that if anybody knows a thing or two about getting someone to notice your feelings, it'd be you." Sunburst was dwindling his fingers. "I mean you got someone like Twilight to fall in love with you, so you must have done something to catch her attention."
"Like I said, I'm not an expert on these things. Heck this my first real relationship that I'm in, prior to getting with Twilight, I didn't even once think about the idea of love/romance. We're learning this stuff as we go." said Isaac as he put his hands up. "Most of my time, I just spent it playing Duel Monsters and learning new methods."
"Well there goes that idea." Sunburst then pulled out his deck, "I just wish love was more like dueling."
"Trust me, I thought the same way." said Isaac. "But that advice I gave you could also apply to your dilemma. I talked about how you need to have courage to overcome things. Well you just need to find the courage to act on your feelings. Once you do that, everything will be a breeze."
"I guess you're right. Just hope Starlight isn't too distracted to notice." said Sunburst.
"Woah, Starlight?" said Isaac as he was surprised at Sunburst's answer.
"You weren't suppose to know that." Sunburst quickly tried to take back what he said.
"Hey man, I'm not judging. She seems like an okay girl, although I haven't had the chance to meet her. Kind reminds me of Twilight in a weird way." Isaac then quickly realized what he said. "I'm not trying to hit on your girl, Sunburst."
"She's not my girl!" said Sunburst nervously. "What I mean to say is that we're just friends, nothing more. Look can we put this aside, please?"
"Hey you asked?" responded Isaac.
"Can we just drop this, it's not important. At least not when we're facing each other in tonight's event." said Sunburst.
"Alright, speaking of tonight. Mind showing me your deck? I mean it's only fair, I showed you mine."
Sunburst was hesitant on showing Isaac his deck given that Starlight would be angry if she found out about it. Still given how much time he spent with Isaac and that he gave him some helpful advice, he figured that it couldn't hurt. So he then gave his deck to Isaac as he began to look through it. "My deck is a combination between a Gagaga/Gogogo archetype. So as you can see, I rely mostly on Xyz summoning."
"Not bad, given that the two of them work pretty good with each other." Isaac was impressed with how well constructed Sunburst created his deck. "In fact, I could make some slight improvements."
Sunburst was surprised at Isaac's suggestion. "Are you sure? We're suppose to face each other in tonight's Duos Cup. Do you really want to help your competition?"
"Ahh, it's no big deal. Besides I want to face you and Starlight at your maximum potential." said Isaac as he began to work his magic.
Before Sunburst could object, Isaac had his deck all spread out on the table as he began to do what he does best. Soon he joined in with Isaac as he began to help improve the deck he's had since childhood. Sunburst had some really good cards which meant there wasn't much to change; Isaac still asked Sunburst about how he felt on certain additions as he wanted his input. Soon it involved into both having a discussion as they talked about tons of possibilities for Sunburst's deck; even Sunburst helped Isaac out by giving him some extra magic cards that would work well with his Dark Magician. After a long while both boys ended up trading cards between each other and fistbumped at how close they were becoming. Seems Starlight's plan was successful as he genuine saw Isaac as a friend.
While Isaac and Sunburst were hanging out, Twilight was doing her own thing as she looked at the map of the place. She entered a tent that explained some interesting facts about the history of Duel Monsters. Unbeknownst to her, Starlight was right behind her as she had a sinister smile on her face. She was currently going over the section of the presentation when fusion summon was starting out as she was learning about the person who ushered it in.
"Crazy to think that this person used a Heroes deck. Not to mention that he had a special method to fusion called Contact Fusion."
"Indeed, isn't it." said Starlight as she made her presence known. She had a smile on her face as she began to approach Twilight.
Twilight immediately stood stiff at who she was seeing. "Oh, hi. Didn't see you there? My name is..."
"Cut the chatter." boomed Starlight. "I know who you are and you know who I am." Starlight then looked at the display Twilight was seeing as she just had a smug look on her face. "Pathetic, really. Praising someone for doing something they did, like some kind of noble hero. Please, anybody could've introduced fusion or any of these other summoning methods. And yet we have to show respect for the ones that pioneered it." Starlight had a disgusted look on her face.
"Well it's so that we can pay our respects because of people like them that helped to further evolve this game." stated Twilight.
"That all, please if it was that simple then all I would need to do is introduce some new form of dueling and then I'll be hailed as a hero." snickered Starlight. "As far as I know the legends of the past are just simply hogging all the attention from the current generation of duelist. No matter what way we look at it, everything always revolves around them. Any move we make or any summoning method that we do, people always call back to the duelist that first introduced it. They get all the attention and what are we left with, some praise for copying someone's techniques. They say legends never die, but they sure as hell can outstay their welcome!!!!" said Starlight with so much fury/passion.
Twilight really resonated with Starlight's final comment. A part of her sort of agreed with what she said, many people hailed these great people in past as role models. Even her boyfriend saw these guys as role models for paving the way. But no matter what, people still found some way to connect dueling back to the people that were considered icons.
"You seem to be in a rather foul mood." Twilight was trying her best to ease the tension.
"Oh really, I didn't notice." said Starlight sarcastically. "You got something right there Twilight, I am agitated. I'm angry, but most of all, I'm confused. We dedicate our entire lives to people who are aren't around anymore, dedicate dueling to old has-beens! You wanna call them legends, call them whatever, they've had their time! A night like tonight is exactly what's wrong with dueling. All day, every single dueling event that has ever been held has in some way shape or form been about the past. The past, not the present and most certainly not the future!!" Starlight was starting to sound off as Twilight could hear the fury in her voice. "And what sickens me even more is people who look to these icons and say that they want to be just like them!"
"It's called respect." said Twilight.
"Oh, respect. Is that what it's called? Please it's called sucking up and kissing somebody's ass! Listen, listen. I'm not bewildered. I know exactly that the generation before me paved the way, but when the hell are you gonna let me walk on that path!?" screamed Starlight as she grabbed the pamphlet out of Twilight's hands and stared at it with angry. The sight of all the famous icons to introduce their own style of dueling/summoning method standing side by side was enough to make Starlight sick to her stomach. "Guys like me, or Sunburst not getting the time of day or the respect that we deserve, why? Because we need to hear about the duelists that everybody remembers or some stupid catchphrases that we've heard time and time again for the seventh million time!"
"But don't you hear the cheers when people see them? When they're reminded of greatness, people who sacrifice their blood, sweat, and tears for this business." said Twilight.
"Yeah, they were cheering I'm sure they were." said Starlight as she just rolled her eyes. "Why don't they give us a chance? People that can contribute to this business and game to further this industry but no, no, no, no, no. Let's push them all aside. Let's give all our time and effort to people that need it; people who aren't even around anymore! People who if they standing here right now, they couldn't barely walk let alone lift a damn duel disk!!"
"Even if they were here the reason they can't do what they used to do is because they had such successful careers in years past. They put their bodies on the line for us to be here; for us to learn from them." said Twilight.
"To do what!?" interrupted Starlight. "To allow this industry to grow. They paved the way, they carved a path. When do I get to walk on that path!?!!" Starlight then ripped apart the pamphlet and stomped on the photo. "And for anybody that doesn't understand what I'm saying it's not because I'm talking fast. It's because you're listening slow." Starlight briefly looked at the fourth wall as she said that statement. "This place needs a change and I am that change!!!!"
Twilight was a bit scared at what Starlight said that she didn't dare move or say anything. Starlight then started to leave but not before addressing Twilight one final time.
"I'll see you tonight, Twilight. Once I beat you and that boyfriend of yours, I'll finally destroy the last piece of the old way of Duel Monsters and then I can usher in my way that will lead this business into the future. One where everybody is seen as equal and not one single person is considered above the rest. Believe that!!" gritted Starlight as she stepped through the entrance.
Twilight was left with the light shining above flickering a bit as she just stood their and grabbed her arm. A part of her saw Starlight's point of view and she would have agreed with her. So many people just sang the praises of those from the past that more often than not it clouded their judgement of the current scene of duelists as they didn't give them much attention. To be honest, when she was still a student at Crystal Prep, she was taught to acknowledge the duelists from the previous generation and show their appreciation for making the game as great as it was. However, she didn't fully understand it until she started to learn under Isaac and how he showed her the many videos and techniques that those people used in the past.
Isaac even showed her a picture of the four great duelists that all contributed to the game. All of them in some shape or form was considered a role model in Isaac's eyes. Twilight was able to see the duelist who introduced Synchro Summon, the person who revolutionized Fusion summoning, and even a young individual who took Xyz summoning to whole another level. However, the person that Isaac would always talk about the most was the person he idolized the most. Still after Starlight's realistic point of view, she then began to think Isaac. He always did say to acknowledge them, but to also not get so caught up with putting them on a pedestal as it wouldn't help you in creating your own path. Twilight quickly put all the negative things Starlight had to say out of her mind as she had to find Isaac.
"So you're saying that I should combine my Dark Magician with this card?"
"Correct, that way not only does it allow you to set up for your next turn, but also provides you with a powerful monster that your opponent will have to deal with." stated Sunburst.
Sunburst and Isaac were currently going over each other cards and showing off the different plays they each could potentially do in their tag duel later tonight. They showed off the many combos they did and each offered advice on how they could improve it and show how to tear it apart. Safe to say while the girls had a less than pleasant meeting, the boys just bonded over their toys. Sunburst did occasionally ask questions about Isaac's relationship with Twilight. They were so busy that they didn't notice Starlight standing in front of them till she cleared her voice. At that moment, both boys looked up and saw Starlight standing there; for a moment, Isaac got a certain vibe from the girl.
"What are you doing!?" shouted Starlight.
"S-Starlight." yelped Sunburst. "Well, I was just trading ideas with Isaac."
"And letting him see your deck! Don't you realize that by doing so, he now knows your strategy. I told you don't francize with the enemy. Come on!!" boomed Starlight as she grabbed Sunburst by his robe and started to drag him away.
"Hey!" shouted Isaac. "He didn't mean any harm, if you want somebody to yell out, then yell at me. I'm the one who asked him to show me his deck."
Starlight stopped in her tracks as she looked at Isaac. "I should have known." Starlight now had a sinister smile as she let go of Sunburst and then began to look at Isaac. "You know, I've had my eye on you for quite a while. Not just because of your monsters, but just what you stand for. I see you and I'm trying to figure out what exactly is it about you that just pisses me off!!"
Isaac started clench his fist as Starlight looked at him. Both could sense huge disdain towards each other. Starlight then began to speak.
"You know the thing that I really despise about you, Isaac. Is that you pray to someone whose long gone. Tell me, how many times have you dedicated your life and your deck to being just like your idol." said Starlight.
"What are you playing at, Starlight?" gritted Isaac.
"You! You are just like everybody else, prancing and singing the praises of people who are no longer here. Who were considered legends in the dueling world and yet you still try to uphold everything they stood for. It's foolish, and I'll be it a bit stupid!! Correction: Really stupid. You put people on pedestals because you see them as some sort of god; in reality it's pitiful. They are legends who take away all the spotlight from the current generation!" shouted Starlight as it caused Sunburst to take a few steps back.
"It's called paying respect for the those that allowed us to be here!" replied Isaac. "With these great individuals, Duel Monsters wouldn't be where it is now."
"That is a load of bullshit!!" shouted Starlight. "You say these individuals were chosen to carry the torch and pave the way. No, they just so happen to be the people that history chose to remember. Imagine if they didn't exist, then somebody else would've stepped up. They're nothing special! In fact, if I was around when they were in their prime, you wouldn't even had heard about them because everybody would be singing my praises and how I got this game to where it should."
"You know hearing you talk about the legends and disrespecting them. I can't stand by that! You think you're entitled to stuff, but that's not how life works. You want people to recognized you, you earn it! Without these people of the past, you probably wouldn't even be standing here!" replied Isaac as he got in the face of Starlight.
"You sing the praises of these legends yet you're blind by their mist that you can't see the bigger picture. You're just like everybody, all blinded by nostalgia, just clinging on the days of yesteryear! It makes me sick! They paved the way, they carved the path, but when the hell do I walk on that path!!!"
"You make your own path. Seems your blinded by this idea that everybody should be equal, but that's not the case. There will always be people who are special; people who have unique quirks. That is something you can't take away, no matter how hard you try."
"I'd expect that answer from someone like you, Isaac. You're nothing more than a walking propaganda who's always singing the praises of his hero/idol. You even modeled your deck after his cause you have this notion that he's the greatest to ever pick up a deck. This game inside and outside of the dueling field are filled with a parade of shameless ass kissers. And I'd like to think that maybe this game would better if the duelists that existed just simply died!!!" Starlight's comment was enough to make Isaac clench his fist as he was filled with angry.
"I am the voice of the voiceless! I want to walk over their broken bones as I ascend to my rightfully place. I want to create change, change where everybody is as one. Everyone thinks as one, acts as one, does and say things as one!! And if anybody stands in my way or doesn't agree with my ideals then they will join the rest of those past idols and be forgotten." Starlight was now staring deep in Isaac's eyes. "If you want to lower yourself to the same level like your greats from the past, then I'll gladly send you there myself."
"Enough!!!" screamed Isaac as he swatted away Starlight's finger from his face. "Enough!!! Listen up jack, I don't lower myself to them, because they are the reason why we are here! Why we exist today to carry their legacy and find new ways to make this game much more enjoyable. We are here to showcase our skills, we are here to show that the path we choose to make is not one that's defined by past icons, but rather what we do in the present that will lead us into the future! You are a ignorant son of bitch and you need a little bit of respect. So you say that you're going to win tonight at the Duos Cup, but I'm just going to kick your ass!!!!" Isaac now had his forehead against Starlight as if they were about to lock horns.
Starlight then backed up as she had a smile on her face. "You wish that you were half the man that those greats were, but you're not. No matter how many people you try to fool with your dueling, you will never be the same as your idol! Know why, it's because of your own damn ego. And you know what they say about ego, the bigger the ego, the smaller the package." said Sunset with a sick smile as he looked at Isaac and at a certain part of his body to emphasis her point. "So Isaac, tell me you're all about respect, right? Well respect this!!" Starlight then brought her hand up as she slapped Isaac in the face with so much force that it knocked his hat off as his face turned.
Sunburst was surprised that Starlight did that, even he thought she went too far by doing that. Isaac had his hand to his face as he felt the spot that Starlight hit him. He was processing what had just happened and soon he just had a smile on his face. "You just made the biggest mistake of your life." chuckled Isaac. He then stepped to the side as standing behind him was none other than Twilight.
Twilight left a few minutes after Starlight had left as she was looking for Isaac. She wanted to discuss her encounter with Starlight, so when she found her boyfriend standing face to face with Starlight, she knew there was going to be some trouble. Nobody noticed her standing a few feet away as she was listening to Isaac and Starlight verbal trade words about the past legends and their perspective on them. Twilight was contend with letting Starlight bad mouth about the past icons, but then she started to target Isaac and his role model. Then once she slapped Isaac, Twilight was immediately filled with rage. So when Isaac stepped aside to reveal her, Twilight had already clenched her fists as she tackled Starlight to the ground and started to wail on her.
Soon it was a regular catfight as both Starlight and Twilight started to throw some stiff haymakers. Soon both girls were rolling around in the dirt as Sunburst tried to pull Starlight off of Twilight; try as he might both girls just kept on trying to pull each other's hairs out. Soon he was able to get Starlight off as he picked her up and pulled her away. Sunburst then let go of Starlight as she settled down and tried to fix her hair; Sunburst then tried to apologize to Twilight who had just gotten up but was met with a slap to his face as his glasses fell off as he tumbled to the ground. Isaac then grabbed Twilight as he pulled her back. Twilight was still kicking as Isaac was holding her back.
"Hey Starlight! You mess with my man, I'm gonna break you bitch, you hear me!!!" shouted Twilight.
"We'll settle this later, come on Sunburst!" Starlight then began to walk away as Sunburst grabbed his glasses as he wiped the dirt off of it as he left to join her.
Once they were out of sight, Isaac let go of Twilight as she had finally calm down. "Finally," Twilight let out a deep breath; she then turned to look at Isaac. "Are you okay, Isaac? Hope she didn't hurt you too badly." Twilight brought her hand to the same spot that Starlight had struck him. Twilight's touch caused Isaac to flinch a bit.
"I'll be fine, nothing an ice pack can't fix." said Isaac as he did his best to smile. "But you, got to say the way you took down Starlight and just went off, kinda hot. Didn't expect that out of a nerd like you?"
Isaac then leaned into Twilight as he gave her a deep and tender kiss. Isaac wrapped his arms around Twilight as she grabbed Isaac's head as they just let it all out. Soon they broke apart as they looked at each other.
"Let's focus on taking down Starlight." said Twilight.
"Right, and I figured out what deck Sunburst uses when we were hanging out."
Twilight blinked at Isaac's comment. "Wait, you actually hung out with Sunburst?"
"Hey unlike you and Starlight's hang out, I actually got to know Sunburst. Pretty stand up guy, though he's looking for help on a sensitive topic." Isaac didn't want to tell Twilight about Sunburst's predicament due to him promising not to tell anybody. Plus it was a sort of guy code. "Anyways that's not important, what matters is that we take down Starlight. So, are you with me?"
"Always. Now then let's show them who the real power couple of Duel Monsters is." said Twilight as she smiled at Isaac.
Starlight and Sunburst had made it back to her room as she opened the door and slammed it with such force that it almost broke the hinges off. Sunburst jumped a bit at the sound as he looked at his best friend. Starlight was seething as she replayed the events of her confrontation with Isaac and then getting involved in her little scamp with Twilight.
"S-Starlight? You okay?"
"Do you think that I'm okay!?!" shouted Starlight. "They humiliated us and we need to put them in their place! So let me ask you, are you with me!?"
Sunburst hesitated a bit before answering. "You know I am, you're my friend."
"Good." snickered Starlight. She then began to talk to herself about her plans to make her ideology a reality.
"So, after we win? What's next? I-I mean in terms of us." Sunburst was sweating as he tried to muster up the courage to say what he wanted to say.
"What are you talking about? We rule together as the top duelists; we show everybody why we're a dominate pair. They call us the 'Power Couple', then let's live up to the power part of that name." laughed Starlight.
"Y-Yeah. Of course." nodded Sunburst in silence. "But maybe, we could live up to that name to its true meaning." Sunburst's comment caused Starlight to turn around and look at him with a raised eyebrow. What am I doing? I can't do this. Sunburst was mentally punching himself for saying what he wanted to say, but he then remembered Isaac's words. "I just think that given how long we've known each other and what people assume based on us always being together, I figured why not make it seem more realistic."
"Sunburst, we've known each our whole lives and I can tell when you're trying to be funny. Good one." said Starlight as she slapped him on the back. "Come on, don't tell me that you're thinking about other stuff. Not when we're on the cusp of creating a utopia of sorts. I've found that change isn't going to come naturally, it has to be done by your own actions. One individual can't change everything. Believe me, I know. Trying to change this place by yourself will break you mentally, physically, spiritually. That's why I need your assist, Sunburst. Together we can actually make an effort and change this game to fit our image. So understand that this can only happen if you stick by my side. So I ask again: You're either with me or you're against me!"
Sunburst knew what Starlight was insinuating; he knew that Starlight was an individual who when she put her mind to something, she wouldn't stop at nothing till she achieved her goal. But he also didn't want to suffer the wrath of his best friend, especially if he wanted both of them to be more than just friends. "You know I'll always stand by your side Starlight, we're friends."
"Good." snickered Starlight. "Now then let's focus on the task at hand; we don't need any distractions. So put aside whatever thought you had and let's move forward with our plan."
"Yes, ma'am." said Sunburst.
"Now then, tell me about the strategies that Isaac implemented with your deck?"
It was now time, time for the final duel of the evening and the Duos Cup. Everybody packed into the main tent as they were prepared to see which team would be named the winners of this year's event. Both teams were kept in separate rooms as they were going over their last minute strategies. Well at least for Starlight and Sunburst; Isaac was in his locker room tapping his foot at Twilight not being there.
"Where is she? Doesn't she know that we're about to go on?" said Isaac as he had his eyes closed and was perturbed.
"Sorry I'm late." said Twilight.
"Finally! I was beginning to wonder..." Isaac had opened his eyes and standing before him was none other than Twilight, but she was in a different attire.
Apparently, Rarity wanted to show her support for them that she decided to make a similar outfit for Twilight that matched Isaac's signature duds. So she used inspiration from Isaac's outfit to create one that suited Twilight while also showing everybody that they were a team. Twilight's outfit consisted of a dark purple cloth jacket with two tone streaks matching the streaks in her hair going up her sleeves connecting to her hoodie that matched their colors as well. It was zipped up all the way with a gem representing her element as the tab on the zipper you pulled on. She wore light pink leggings that seemed pretty loose at the ends of her legs and ended a few centimeters from her blue laced boots. It had a modern look like Isaac's and held to her hind legs with dark blue straps at the front of the boot, in front of the tongues. Wrapped around her hip area was a belt with a specially designed saddle bag on one side while on the other was a deck box that was clipped on, with the same design and color code as her boots, only the latch resembled her element.
"Rarity thought it be a good idea to design me something. She felt like we needed to show that we're a team and I guess that included having some sort of matching outfits." said Twilight as she twirled around for Isaac to get a good look. "So what do you think?" Twilight just smiled sheepishly.
Isaac was left speechless as he couldn't put into words Twilight's outfit. "You look amazing!" said Isaac. "I wouldn't mind you wearing this all the time."
Twilight blushed at Isaac's comment. "Well maybe I'll wear it for special occasions." said Twilight as she stepped into Isaac's arms. Soon she brought him into a kiss as she brought her hands up to cusp Isaac's face. It lasted for a few seconds as they broke apart. "Now let's go show Starlight what happens when you mess with the wrong couple." Isaac nodded as they began to leave as they gave one last high five but had their pinky fingers hook together.
Soon everybody started to cheer as all four competitors were making their way onto the dueling field. The crowd really was into this match as they were looking for a grueling battle between the two teams. All four duelists were staring at each other, preparing, waiting for the action that was about to ensue. Then the announcer began to speak.
"Now everybody we begin the final round of the Duos Cup. Who will be crowned the victors, will it be the team of Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst? Or will be the new comers, the team of Isaac and Twilight Sparkle? One thing is for sure we're about to have the battle to see who is the true power couple of Duel Monsters; now then duelists prepare yourselves."
Starlight and Sunburst then popped in their decks and activated their duel disks. Isaac and Twilight gave one last look as they each reached to their belt clip and pulled out their decks and slotted it into their duel disks as it turned on.
"You know the rules everybody, so... let the duel... begin!!" shouted the announcer.
"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.

Turn 1: Starlight
"Time to put you in your place, draw!" Starlight drew her card and she didn't take her eyes off of Isaac and Twilight. "I'll play the continuous spell card, Constellar Star Chart. Now once per turn, whenever a 'Constellar' monster is special summoned I can draw a card. Next I'll play my Constellar Algiedi(1600/1400), now Algiedi's effect activates when it's summoned. So now I can special summon a level 4 'Constellar' monster from my hand. So joining the party is my Constellar Kaus(1800/700)." Starlight’s first monster descended from the golden portal above her, a slim figure in silver armor wielding a club with a blue gemstone set in it. Algiedi raised its club and fired a ray of light at the ground. Within the circle of light rose a second monster, a warrior in silver armor jumped in front of Starlight, this one wielding a large silver and gold bow.
"Now I'll use Kaus' ability, up to twice per turn I can either raise/lower the level of a monster by 1. So I'll use it to reduce both of my monsters so that their level 3. Next I overlay my Kaus and Algiedi, using my two Level 3 monsters I construct the Overlay Network!" Starlight’s two monsters slid together and lit up. "I unite the light of the goat and the archer! Open a path to the cosmos and gallop to a new shining star! I Xyz Summon, Constellar Hyades(1900/1100, OLU: 2)! Then I'll end my turn."
Turn 2: Isaac
"My turn," said Isaac as he drew his card.
"Be careful, Isaac." said Twilight. "She managed to Xyz summon on her first turn, so we have to be cautious about what else she has planned."
"Don't worry, Twilight. I'll start by playing my Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode, next I'll give him Bound Wand and raise his attack by an extra 400 points, in addition, my Breaker gains 300 points when he's summoned. But I'll use his effect and get rid of his counter to take out your spell card." Breaker then lifted its sword up as a beam of energy zapped away a portion of his strength to take out Starlight's spell card. "Using this effect means my Breaker will lose 300, but that's a small price to pay. I'll then set one card facedown and end my turn."
Turn 3: Sunburst
"Guess I'm up." said Sunburst as he drew his card. He looked at Starlight who was giving him a look, a look that said 'show them no mercy'. Sunburst then took a deep breath, "I summon Cardcar D(800/400). Then I'll activate its effect, so by tributing it I can draw two cards." Sunburst then got rid of his monster as he picked up his cards. "By using this effect, my turn immediately comes to an end, so I'll just place this facedown."
Turn 4: Twilight
"Then it's up to me," Twilight looked at her options. "I'll start things off by playing my Amores of Prophecy in defense mode. Then I'll use its effect to reveal my Spellbook of Secrets in my hand to special summon a level 4 or below spellcaster from my hand. So I summon my Charioteer of Prophecy in attack mode. Next I'll play Spellbook of Secrets to add a 'Spellbook' from my deck to my hand." Twilight then selected the card she wanted as she confirmed on her screen and slotted out for her to grab. "Then I'll play a single facedown, that's all."
Turn 5: Starlight
"Now that we've all taken a turn, time to dish out some damage." Starlight had a sinister glare on her face as she drew her card. "First I'll use the effect of my Constellar Hyades, by using an overlay unit, I change all your monsters into defense." Starlight's monster then absorbed an overlay unit as it caused all of Isaac's and Twilight's monster to change positions. "Next I play Constellar Leonis(1000/1800) in defense mode!” A silver and brown-armored monster jumped from Starlight’s portal, this one covered in glowing blue spikes with a blue blade of energy extending from its wrist.
"I then activate Leonis’ effect. Once per turn I can perform an additional normal summon of a Constellar monster. I summon another Constellar Kaus!" Starlight pointed at Kaus. “I activate Kaus' ability. Up to twice a turn I can increase the level of a Constellar monster by 1. I boost the level of Aldebaran.” Kaus turned and fired an arrow at Aldebaran. The knight glowed gold as it was struck. Starlight stretched her hand up. “And now, I overlay Constellar Aldebaran and Constellar Kaus! Using my two Level 4 monsters, I construct the overlay network!”
Starlight’s two monsters turned transparent, their images outlined in gold. Within each of them a spark of gold light floated out and began to orbit them, leaving streaks of light in the air. Starlight grinned as the two forms slid together into a mass of gold light. “I unite the light of the bull and the light of the archer! Open a path to the cosmos and gallop to a shining new star!” Starlight’s Extra Deck ejected her card and she picked it up. “I Xyz Summon Constellar Omega(2400/2500, OLU: 2)!” The golden light burst, revealing a centaur in gold and silver armor with the two sparks of gold light circling it.
"Now I'll use my Constellar Omega's effect, by using one overlay unit, all 'Constellar' monsters are unaffected by spells/traps this turn. So I'll have my Hyades attack Breaker and Omega to take out Amores." Starlight gave her monsters their orders as they took them out with ease. "I'll then end my turn with a facedown."
"Since Breaker was equipped with Bound Wand, he gets to come back." said Isaac as his monster revived.
Turn 6: Isaac
"Now then, draw. I'll play Card Destruction now everybody throws out their hands and must redraw that same number of cards." Everybody then got rid of their cards as they all had a new hand to work with. "Now I'll play Pot of Greed and draw two more cards, but I won't stop there cause now I'm activating Graceful Charity. So I'll pick up three more cards and discard two. Now I'll play Magical Dimension and with I'll tribute my Breaker to play my Dark Magician; and not only that I can destroy one card on your field. And I choose you Constellar Omega!"
"I can activate Omega's effect even during your turn, so by using another overlay unit, my Constellar monsters are unaffected by spell/traps cards. So much for your plan!" chuckled Starlight.
"Actually, I was hoping you would do that. Your monsters may be safe, but I was able to get rid of your monster's overlay units. Now Dark Magician attack Sunburst directly!" Dark Magician then leaped into the air.
"Don't think so, I special summon my Gagaga Gardna(1500/1200) from my hand. When you declare a direct attack, I can summon him to the field." said Sunburst as he summoned his monster.
"Your monster is still weaker, so my Dark Magician will have no problem destroying it. Dark Magician attack Sunburst's Gagaga Gardna! Your Gagaga Gardna is a gagaga goner." said Isaac.
"I activate my Gagaga Gardna's special ability by discarding one card, I can protect my Gagaga Gardna from your Dark Magician's attack." Sunburst then decided which one he wanted to get rid of. "I discard Gagaga Girl."
"You may have prevented your monster from being destroyed, but you still lose life points."
Sunburst's Life Points: 7000-
"That's a small price that I'll willing to do to keep my Gagaga Gardna." stated Sunburst.
"I'll set one card facedown and end my turn."
Turn 7: Sunburst
"I draw, now I summon Gogogo Golem(1800/1500) in defense mode." Sunburst looked at Starlight as she knew exactly what he was about to do; Starlight gave him a sign that said 'end them'. Sunburst just gave a nod as he looked at Isaac and Twilight with a hint of sadness. "Now then I'll perform an Xyz summon. I overlay my level 4 Gagaga Gardna and Gogogo Golem to construct the Overlay Network. I Xyz Summon, Number 39: Utopia(2500/2000, OLU: 2)!"
"What!?" shouted Isaac and Twilight. They were shocked to find that Sunburst had managed to bring out a powerful monster. And not just any monster, one of the first Xyz monsters that pioneered Xyz summoning; not to mention that this card used to belong to another great duelist in the past.
"In that case, I'll activate my Bottomless Trap Hole. Now your Utopia is not only destroyed but it's banished."
"Not gonna work, Isaac. I activate my facedown Xyz Reflect. When a card effect is activated that targets a faceup 'Xyz' monster, I can play this card to negate and destroy said card/effect and deal you 800 points of damage."
Isaac's Life Points: 7200-
"I'll then place one card facedown and end my turn."
Turn 8: Twilight
"Back to me, draw. To start, I'll play my Pot of Greed and draw two more cards. Now time for me to introduce my ace monster, I reveal three Spellbooks: Spellbook of Fate, Spellbook of Eternity and Spellbook of Knowledge. Now I can special summon my High Priestess of Prophecy!" Twilight now had managed to summon her ace monster. "Now I'll summon my Hermit of Prophecy, then I'll play Spellbook of Experience. So now I give my Charioteer an extra level and by doing so my Hermit's ability gains a 2 levels and 300 attack points whenever a 'Spellbook' is activated. Now that I have two level 5 monsters, I construct the Overlay Network. I Xyz Summon Empress of Prophecy(2000/1700, OLU: 2)!" Twilight's new monster was a beautiful women who sat on her throne as she wielded a staff.
"My Empress gains 300 extra points for each Xyz material attached to it, but I'll use one right now. So now I shuffle my deck, then I reveal the top 5 cards of my deck. Then I can destroy that many monsters up to the same amount of 'Spellbooks' that I reveal." Twilight's duel disk then projected her 5 cards for all to see, "I reveal Spellbook of Power and Spellbook of Miracles, so that's two targets I get to destroy. So say goodbye to your entire field, Starlight!" Empress then raised its staff as a blinding light took over and decimated Starlight's entire field. "Now I'll put those Spellbooks in any order I choose, but that's not important right now. Now my monsters attack Starlight directly!! This is for putting your hands on my man!!" Twilight then thrust her hand out as her monsters obeyed the command of their mistress and dealt some major damage to Starlight as she covered up.

Turn 9: Starlight
"You okay, Starlight?" asked Sunburst as he was concerned about his friend.
"I'm fine!!!" shouted Starlight as she glared at Twilight. "Time to make you pay you bitch!" Starlight was furious that Twilight had manage to land a hit. "Now I'll play this spell card, Xyz Resurrection. Now I can revive an Xyz monster as well as any Xyz materials that were attached to it. So welcome back Constellar Hyades, next I'll play my Monster Reborn to bring back my Constellar Omega. But I'm not done, next I play Constellar Pollux(1700/600) so now I can conduct another normal summon so I play Constellar Rasalhague(900/100)." Starlight now had four monsters on her field.
"Now my Rasalhague's effect activates, so I'll tribute it to revive my Constellar Kaus. Now I'll use Kaus' ability and raise both of their levels by 1. Now I'll overlay my level 5 Kaus and Pollux to construct the Overlay Network. The light of distant stars shatters the dark of night, I Xyz Summon Constellar Pleiades(2500/1500, OLU: 2)!" Starlight had managed to summon her third Xyz monster. "But you know what?” Starlight grinned. “I think we can do one better this time. I think I’ll give him an upgrade! Using the Rank 4 Constellar Omega, I construct the overlay network!” The crowd went wild as Starlight’s monster glowed brightly, a golden silhouette weaving in the air around it. “With the galaxy as your guiding light, gallop down the path to the cosmos and take flight among the brightest stars!” She thrust her fist into the air. “Rank-Up, Xyz Evolution!” Constellar Omega burst apart in rays of light, the rays striking the silhouette around them and filling it out. “Using a Constellar Xyz monster I control as the sole Xyz Material; I Xyz Summon, arise and unleash your celestial fury, Constellar Ptolemy M7(2700/2000, OLU: 1)!” The shape shattered to reveal a large silver and gold dragon, wings of the night sky spread into the air and its tail coiling down and around Starlight.
"No way!" shouted Isaac.
"Are you seeing this?" said Twilight as she was just as concerned as Isaac.
"Next I'll use Pleiades' effect, so I use an overlay unit to send your Empress of Prophecy back to your hand or in this case your extra deck. Now time to make you pay, Twilight! I hope you're watching Isaac as I make your girlfriend regret she ever crossed paths with me!! Now my monsters attack Twilight's monster and take bite out of her life points!!" With that Starlight's monster had their command as her dragon took out High Priestess as Pleiades and Hyades headed for Twilight as she was tossed on her back.
Twilight's Life Points: 3400-
"Twilight!" shouted Isaac.
"Oh don't worry, you'll feel her pain. I'll place this facedown then I'll play this my Constellar Tempest, now by removing all the Xyz materials from Pleiades and Hyades, I can cut both of your life points in half! Do it!!" shouted Starlight as a meteor shower started to fall down and headed for Isaac as he barely managed to get out of the way.
Another one was headed for Twilight as she was still on the ground and was just beginning to stir. Twilight didn't have time to get out of the way as she closed her eyes and prepared for the worst. Isaac was covered in scratches/bruises that he still had the energy to run over to Twilight and wrap her in his arms as he was using his body to shield her.

Twilight's Life Points: 1700-
Soon the attack ceased as Starlight ended her turn. Starlight was just laughing with a sick smile on her face as Sunburst was scared at what he saw. Even he thought that was a bit much.
"Starlight?"
"Don't turn against me now, Sunburst!!!" screamed Starlight.
"Isaac? You didn't have to do that." said Twilight as she was surprised that he would take most of the impact to protect her.
"It's fine." chuckled Isaac as his back was a bit sore. "As long as you're okay, I don't feel any pain. Ow." said Isaac as his laughing caused his muscles to ache. Soon he helped Twilight up as they to face Starlight as they were showing that they were still standing. "You ready to take her down?"
"Ready!" said Twilight.
Turn 10: Isaac
"Now then, my turn. Draw! To start, I'll play the spell card Dedication of Light and Darkness. So now I tribute my Dark Magician to special summon my Dark Magician of Chaos. Now my magician's effect activates so now I can add a spell card from my graveyard to my hand." Isaac then picked the card he wanted from his graveyard as it slotted out for him to grab. "Now I'll play Brain Control, so by paying 800 life points, I'll take control of Constellar Ptolemy M7. Next I'll play the spell card that I got back, Magician's Roulette." Isaac played his card and soon the entire field was changed so that all four of then were now standing on a roulette wheel with four sections appearing with half red and black. "Here's how it works, Starlight. All the monsters that you and I have are placed on this wheel and then the wheel will spin; whatever section the ball lands on determines which monsters will be affect. If it lands on your monsters then all your monsters lose their attack points, but if it lands on mine then I take damage equal to their total points. So care to spin?" asked Isaac.
Isaac's Life Points: 2800-
"Are you really leaving this to chance?" said Starlight.
"Let's find out. Spin the wheel, make the deal!" shouted Isaac as he tapped his foot and the ball started to roll around them moving at a fast pace.
The ball was moving so fast that if you tried to follow its movement, you would get sick by the second rotation. Not to mention that Pinkie actually did that and she immediately grabbed Rarity's purse as she threw up in it. Safe to say that Rarity was less than pleased; the ball then started to slow down as Isaac tapped his foot and it started to bounce all over the place. Soon it started to lose inertia as it winded down and then landed on the section of Starlight's Pleiades. "Seems like your monsters are going to lose it's attack points." Soon Pleiades and Hyades powered down and were useless.
"Now I'll have my magician and Ptolemy M7 attack and destroy both of your monsters! Say goodbye, Starlight!" Isaac had a smile on his face as he looked to defeat Starlight.
"Don't think so, I activate my facedown. Meteor Destruction!!" Soon a giant space rock was falling at a fast pace. "Now this card makes it so that the damage I'm about to take is also dished out to you. So now you will be out of this duel, Isaac!"
Isaac had his eyes widen as he saw the meteor heading towards him. It looked like it was about to knock him out of this duel, until Twilight stepped in.
"He won't be the one taking the damage, I am!" shouted Twilight.
"Twilight?"
"It's fine, Isaac. You protected me, now it's my turn to return the favor. By sending a card in my hand to the graveyard, I can activate my Spellbook of Direction. Whenever a card effect activates, I can choose its target. So now Meteor Destruction will aim at my life points!" The meteor then changed its course as it was heading for Twilight. "But that's not all, I'll reveal my facedown. Spellbook of Retribution, now the damage that I'm about to take is also sent in Sunburst's direction."
Sunburst's Life Points: 1500
"Twilight, please don't do this." Isaac was pleading with Twilight not to take the hit for him as he grabbed her by the arms.
"It told you, it's fine. You don't always have to protect me; sometimes you have to let me be the one to save you." With that Twilight shoved Isaac out of the way as the meteor made contact with her and Starlight at that moment as a blinding light appeared.
It caused everybody to cover their eyes, once it died down both boys rushed to their partners to make sure they were okay. Isaac held Twilight in his arms as she was covered in dirt and a couple of scratches, he kept calling her name to get a response. Soon Twilight's eyes began to open as she looked at Isaac to which he gave her a hug as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Sunburst was kneeling by Starlight's side as he was concerned about his friend; soon she began to stir as she opened her eyes and looked at Sunburst.
"Starlight, are you okay?"
"Finish the job." gritted Starlight. "Finish the job!! If you care about me, Sunburst. Then finish off Isaac!!!" she said as she slowly tried to get back to her feet.
Sunburst felt like he should take care of Starlight, but the way she said that and the angry in her eyes. He merely nodded as he rose back up and was now staring at Isaac who did the same and he too was staring down Sunburst. Both knew the stakes at this match and with the girls knocked out, it left the boys to battle and trade some stiff shots.

"It's just you and me, Isaac."
"You're a good man, Sunburst. And I hope you can find the to courage to overcome your obstacle. But Starlight needs to pay for what she just did."
"She's my friend and if you get to her, you'll have to go through me!!" shouted Sunburst.
"In that case, I'll just lay a facedown and play Shard of Greed. That's all."
Turn 11: Sunburst
"My turn, draw!" Sunburst drew his card as Starlight looked on. She knew Sunburst was a great partner, but even it mattered the most, he went to that place where he would show off his skills and prove why he was just as good if not better than her. "Now I activate the spell card, Blustering Winds to give my Utopia an extra 1000 attack/defense points till the end of my next Standby phase. Now Utopia attack Dark Magician!"
"I activate Magic Cylinder, so now your attack is diverted back to your life points! It's over, Sunburst!" shouted Isaac.
"I think not! One of the cards that was sent to the graveyard when you played Card Destruction was Interceptomato. So I'll banish it to reduce all the damage to 0. Next up, I'll activate my Double or Nothing spell card. Since an attack was negated, this allows me to double Utopia's attack and allow it to strike a second time! Go Utopia, attack and end this duel! Rising Sun Slash!!" shouted Sunburst as Starlight was having a smile on her face.
"I may not be able to save my magician, but I can keep my life points. I discard Kuriboh so that all battle damage I take becomes zero!! Kuriboh, give me a hand little pal." Kuriboh then appeared as he did his job and took Utopia's attack as it bounced right off. Kuriboh then nuzzled against Isaac as he just simply patted him on the head for a job well done before disappearing.
"In that case, I'll set a card facedown and end my turn."
Turn 12: Isaac
"My turn," Isaac drew his card as he quickly looked at Twilight who was just sitting on the floor behind him as she was too tired to move. He gave her a quick smile as he did his move. "First I gain a greed counter, then I'll play Card of Sanctity. So now we must draw till we're holding six cards in our hands. Next, I'll play Kuribandit, and activate its effect. So I'll tribute it to reveal the five top cards of my deck, any spell/traps are added to my hand and any monster cards are sent to the grave." Isaac's duel disk then projected his cards, "I reveal Monster Reborn, Swords of Revealing Light, Knight's Title, Emergency Provisions, and Makiu, the Magical Mist. Now all of them are added to my hand. Then I'll play Monster Reborn to bring back my Dark Magician. Then I'll play Knight's Title, so I'll tribute my magician to special summon Dark Magician Knight(2500/2100)!" Isaac's magician then transformed as it lost its staff and replaced it with a sword and wore a suit of armor.
"Now when he's summoned, I can destroy one card on the field. So Utopia is gone! And that's just the beginning. Next I summon my ultimate monster of chaos, behold as the powers of dark and light combine to conjure to your defeat. Now I'll banish my Kuriboh and Mystical Elf to summon my Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning! Now Black Luster attack Sunburst directly!!"
"I activate my Pinpoint Guard! Now I'll special summon a level 4 or lower monster to my field and it can't be destroyed this turn. I revive my Flelf(800/1300) in defense mode!"
"I'll then play Swords of Revealing Light and set three cards facedown."
Turn 13: Sunburst
"My turn, draw. To start I'll activate my Flelf's ability, so I'll discard my Gagaga Caesar to increase it's level by 3. Next I'll play one of my favorite monsters, Gagaga Magician(1500/1000). Now since I control a 'Gagaga' monster, I can special summon my Gagaga Child(800/1200) in defense mode. There is still one member missing from my Gagaga family. I activate Gagaga Revenge to special summon the Gagaga Girl from my graveyard." Sunburst now had 4 monsters on his field as it caused Isaac to worry. "I activate my Gagaga Magician's effect to change its level to 7. Now I'll use my Gagaga Girl's effect to match her level to that of my magician." Sunburst then looked at a card in his hand as the name seem fitting due to the artwork that was on it and it reminded him of a particular someone.
"I now activate Star Light, Star Bright."
The moment Sunburst played that card, Starlight immediately was given flashback. She remembered back to when she and Sunburst were kids and how they would always hang out. But one day they happen to be opening a pack of cards as it was that single card that Sunburst had managed to pull. At the time she was happy for her friend getting a useful card, she also told him that the card allowed a person to be granted a wish. But to Sunburst at the time, he saw it as a sign that he was starting to fall for his best friend. So when he got it, he immediately decided to give it to her. He simply said that a card that was named this should belong with someone who really resembled that card; Starlight was excited that she simply gave him hug. She didn't know it at the time but that hug from when they were kids was enough for Sunburst to see Starlight in a whole different light as he one day prayed that she would be his.
"I wish for my Gagaga Child's level to match the level of my Flelf and thanks to this spell card, my wish is granted." I just hope that my initial wish will come true. "When I control two monsters with the same number of attack or defense points; Star Light, Star Bright lets me change one of those monsters levels to match the level of the other monster. Since Gagaga Child and Flelf both have 800 attack points; Star Light, Star Bright changes my Gagaga Child into a level 5 monster just like Flelf."
Isaac's eyes widen at the fact that Sunburst had four monsters and he was able to do something incredible.
"Now that I have two level 5 monsters and two level 7 monsters, it's time for a double Xyz summon! I overlay my level 5 Flelf with my Gagaga Child to Xyz summon, Number 61: Volcasaurus(2500/1000, OLU: 2)! Next I overlay my level 7 Gagaga Magician and Gagaga Girl to Xyz summon, Number 11: Big Eye(2600/2000, OLU: 2)!" Sunburst now had two more number cards on his field.
"Woah, how does he have so many number cards?" asked Isaac.
"And since my Gagaga Girl was equipped with Gagaga Revenge when I used her for an Xyz summon, my Big Eye gains 300 attack points. And now I have two number monsters each with an effect that will help defeat you. But first I activate Xyz Gift, since I control two Xyz monsters I can draw two cards. Next I activate Tornado, this card destroys your Swords of Revealing Light leaving me free to attack." stated Sunburst.
"I chain my Emergency Provisions, now I can send any of my spell/trap cards to the graveyard and gain 1000 life points for each one I send. So I'll send my facedown Makiu to the graveyard!" Isaac then touched his duel disk screen as he selected the cards.
Isaac's Life Points: 3800-
"You're going to need all of them. Number 11: Big Eye can take control of any monster on your side of the field. I can't attack with Big Eye during the turn I activate it's effect, but the monster that I have taken command of is a different story. Number 11 uses an overlay unit to take control of your Black Luster Solider - Envoy of the Beginning!"
"Not good." said Isaac as he watched his most switch over to Sunburst's field.
"I knew you wouldn't let me down, Sunburst." said Starlight as he compliment brought a small smile to his face and caused his heart to warm up a bit.
"Next I use Volcasaurus' effect, Number 61: Volcasaurus cannot attack this turn since I used Gagaga Child as an Xyz material to Xyz summon it. But that doesn't mean it can't damage your life points, by using one of Volcasaurus' overlay unit, I can destroy any face-up monster on your field and if I do you lose life points equal to that monster's attack. So I'll use an overlay unit to destroy your Dark Magician Knight!" Sunburst then snapped his fingers as Isaac's monster was gone in a pillar of fire.
"I activate my trap card, Soul Rope. By paying 1000 life points, I'm allowed to special summon any level 4 or below monster from my deck. I choose Obnoxious Celtic Guardian in defense mode. My monster can't be destroyed by any creature with 1900 or more attack points."
Isaac's Life Points: 300
"That monster is quite obnoxious instead of attacking with Black Luster Soldier, I'll use it's effect to banish your monster. Looks like you're getting another turn. I end my move."
Turn 14: Isaac
"I draw and add a second greed counter to my Shard of Greed, now I'll send it to the graveyard to draw two cards." This is it, I have to draw the right cards to win. Isaac drew his cards and he was modest with what he got, Not what I was hoping for, but better than nothing. "Now I activate Dark Hole, now all monsters on the field are gone. Next I summon Alpha the Magnet Warrior and attack you directly. I'll then set one card before ending my turn."
Sunburst's Life Points: 100-
Turn 15: Sunburst
"Sunburst!?!" screamed Starlight.
"It's alright Starlight, I've got this!" Sunburst now had the most determined look on his face; Starlight saw this and knew exactly what he was about to do and what monster he was about to play.
"Then show him!" shouted Starlight.
"First I activate Gagaga Draw, by banishing 3 'Gagaga' monsters from my graveyard I draw two cards. I banish Gagaga Girl, Gagaga Child, and Gagaga Magician; now I summon Ganbara Knight(0/1800) in defense mode. Next I activate Monster Slots this card lets me banish a monster from my graveyard with the same level as Ganbara Knight. Since Ganbara Knight is a level 4 monster, I shall use Monster Slots to banish the level 4 Gogogo Golem from my graveyard. Next I get to draw a card if it's a monster with the same level as the card I banished from my graveyard and the monster I have on my field then I get to special summon it." said Sunburst as he didn't show any fear in his eyes.
"You really gonna take that big of risk? Especially when you know that my monster can finish this on my next turn?" asked Isaac.
"I have faith in my deck and more importantly, I have someone who's counting on me." Sunburst quickly looked at Starlight as she had an evil smile on her face. "And believe me I intend to make her happy. Now time to see what I get." Sunburst placed his hand on his deck and took a deep breath as he drew it. He looked at the card and his eyes now shifted into serious mode as he saw the monster he wanted to bring out. Get ready, old friend. "I drawn Gogogo Gigas(0/2200)! Since it's a level 4 monster, I can special summon it to the field. You've dueled well Isaac, but it ends here! You only have 300 life points remaining."
Sunburst then took a stance as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he was about to call upon his most ardent ally. "Next I overlay my level 4 Ganbara Knight with my level 4 Gogogo Gigas to Xyz summon one of my favorite monsters, Gagaga Cowboy(1500/2400) in defense mode!!!" shouted Sunburst as a cowboy appeared and he looked at Isaac before firing off some shots into the air.
Starlight was impressed with how Sunburst had managed to draw the right card and be able to summon a monster that would end this duel. In fact, a part of her was feeling happy seeing Sunburst be like this, so dominate and not showing any fear. It sort of caught her attention as she had a smile, she quickly got rid of it as she realized the end was just about to be near.
"My Gagaga Cowboy has a special ability while it's in defense mode, it can use an overlay unit to inflict 800 points of damage to your life points!" stated Sunburst.
"But I only have 300 life points left!" said Isaac as he realized what was about to happen.
"Precisely! Now it's time, Gagaga Cowboy use an overlay unit to finish Isaac and win this duel!!!" said Sunburst as he thrusted out his hand.
Gagaga Cowboy then load its gun as it stared at Isaac he then put it in his pistol hostel; he just kept staring at Isaac as it was a good old fashioned Mexican standoff. Then in the glimpse of a second, if you blinked you would have definitely missed it, Isaac fell to his knees as he clutched his side. Gagaga Cowboy's movements were so fast that he had shot off his pistol that smoke came out of it as he blew it off.

With that Sunburst expression changed from serious to realization. It took a while but what he saw on the field came flooding to him as he had just won the duel and became the winners of the Duos Cup with Starlight. He then looked at Starlight who was approaching him as she slowly started to clap.
"I... I did it. I did it, Starlight. For us." Sunburst then grabbed her hands.
"I knew you wouldn't let me down, Sunburst. You were always someone I could count on." chuckled Starlight. She then let broke free from his grip as she looked at Isaac who was still easing from the pain. "I told you, you would fall. Just like the past duelists and legends, you are nothing but history. The future belongs to us, it's time for us to carve our own path. And like I told you, Isaac. You will never be as good as those legends and most certainly not like your idol. There's not a chance in hell that will ever happen!!" Starlight gave Isaac an evil smile as he just glared back at her. She then started to walk back to Sunburst.
"Come along, Sunburst. We've got a trophy to collect and then we'll begin with my plan."
"Alright, Star..." Sunburst's duel disk then began to flash. "Uhm, Starlight? My duel disk seems to be sending me a message."
"Just ignore it! It's probably nothing." said Starlight.
Sunburst then began to read it as his eyes grew big, "Uhm... maybe you should read this." Sunburst then showed Starlight the message he received.
Starlight had told Sunburst that it wasn't important, but seeing as how he did win, she figured it couldn't hurt to see what it said. She then leaned over his shoulder as she read the message; she then began to furiously read it over and over again. She even grabbed Sunburst's arm to make sure that she was reading the right thing; to Sunburst he had a slight smile on his face for Starlight being so close to him. Soon her eyes turned furious as she looked across the field. "How is this happening!?!?!?!!!"
"Going somewhere, Starlight?" said Isaac as he had managed to get back on his feet but still felt a bit pain from being shot in the side. "This duel isn't over."
"I believe you are mistaken, your life points are at zero! When your life points drop to zero, the duel ends! We are the winners! So how is it possibly that you're still standing!?!? Tell me!!!!!!"
Isaac then offered his hand to Twilight as he helped her up. They both turned to face Starlight as Twilight stood in Isaac's left arm as he wrapped it around her. "My life points may have been reduced to zero, but this trap card will keep me in the duel. I activate Relay Soul! When my life points drop to zero this trap card lets me special summon a monster from my hand as long as I have that monster and remains on the field, I remain in the duel no matter how many life points I have. I entrust my fate with my Dark Magician Girl!"
Isaac then played his spellcaster as she came out and took her position. Mana looked at Isaac and saw that he was standing with Twilight as she let out a smile. This time, Twilight could see Isaac's magician as she gave a wave to which she returned.
"It's doesn't matter, all Sunburst has to do is destroy your one monster!" Starlight then grabbed Sunburst by the collar and looked at him. "Finish this, now!!" shouted Starlight as she let go of her friend.
"Yes, Starlight." Sunburst then stepped forward to face Isaac. "Good move, Isaac." Sunburst had to congratulate Isaac for pulling a last ditch effort to stay alive. "Although my Gagaga Cowboy can't attack your magician right now, on my next turn it can. While attacking my Gagaga Cowboy can give up one Xyz material to increase its attack points by 1000 and decrease your monster's attack points by 500. With all those attack points my Gagaga Cowboy will easily wipe out your Dark Magician Girl on my next turn."
Turn 16: Isaac
"Sunburst is right, I don't have many options left. So it all depends on this draw." said Isaac he put his hand over his deck. Soon it was joined by Twilight who also put her hand on top of his as she was wrapped in Isaac's arms.
"This time we draw it, together." Twilight looked at Isaac as she gave him a smile which he returned. Soon both took a deep breath.
"Heart of the cards, guide us." said Twilight and Isaac as they drew their card. They both looked at it and knew exactly what to do.
"This situation is dire indeed, but in times such as these I can count on the legendary knights of Atlantis to hear my cry. I've drawn the Eye of Timaeus!" said Isaac as he held it up high. "Come forth Timaeus!" Soon a huge dragon descend onto the field as it let out a mighty roar that caused the whole place to rumble. Twilight then snuck a kiss to Isaac's cheek as he continued with his move. "Now I combine Timaeus with Dark Magician Girl to summon Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight! The baton has been passed now my fate rests with Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight, I will only lose this duel if she's destroyed but I plan to defeat you before that can happen. Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight attack and destroy Sunburst's Gagaga Cowboy!" With that Isaac's monster then brought its mighty sword as it slashed downward at Gagaga Cowboy destroying it.
"Now your field is wide open to a direct attack, Alpha the Magnet Warrior attack Sunburst directly and end this duel!!" said Isaac as he held out his hand.
"I will not be defeated." stated Sunburst as he stood his ground. "Interceptomato was not the only helpful monster I discard when you activated your Card Destruction on your second turn. I also discarded Rainbow Kuriboh; when you declare a direct attack, my Rainbow Kuriboh can return from the graveyard to intercept it!" Soon Sunburst had a tiny monster as it headed towards Isaac's monsters.
"Not good enough, Alpha's attack will continue and along with it I activate Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight's special ability. By sending one card in my hand to the graveyard, Rainbow Kuriboh is destroyed and with Rainbow Kuriboh out of my way, my magnet warrior will finish this duel once and for all!" Rainbow Kuriboh then was hit with a beam as it exploded into tons of smaller rainbows.
"Now Alpha finish this duel!!!" shouted both Isaac and Twilight. The attack hit Sunburst as he was flung back and landed by Starlight's feet.

With that final attack the duel was over as all the holograms disappeared. The crowd then stood up as they let out an applause; the announcer then did his job as he called the final result of the duel.
"And with that we now have our winners. Ladies and gentleman, your victors and champions of this year's Duos Cup. The team of Isaac and Twilight Sparkle!!" Soon everybody started make some noise.
Isaac and Twilight took in the sight around them as their friends and everybody else was giving them a standing ovation. Twilight then wrapped her arms around Isaac's neck as she gave him a hug that caused him to topple over with Twilight in his arms. Isaac soon fell on his back as he felt a bit of pain, not to mention that Twilight was now on top of him and they were in front of people. Twilight then gave Isaac a passionate kiss as she didn't care that they was people watching them, soon Isaac returned the favor by kissing her back.
Starlight was watching from afar as she was pissed. To think that Isaac found a way to stay in the duel after his life points dropped to zero and then go on to win really got her blood boiling. She then looked at Sunburst who was just beginning to stir as she looked at him; Sunburst saw that Starlight was disappointed that he put his head down and prepared himself for what she was about to do. Starlight then started to walk away as Sunburst lifted his head to see her leaving.
"Well, are you coming or not?" Starlight said in a stern voice. "We still have a plan to set in motion."
Sunburst was expecting Starlight to be angry and do something but she didn't. Nevertheless, Sunburst dusted himself off and then started to join his friend at her side.
"By the way," Starlight then placed her hand on Sunburst's shoulder which caused him to shudder. "When you were serious, you showed just how dominate you can be. It kind makes you a bit dashing in a way." Sunburst couldn't help but let a small smile at Starlight's comment as it sounded like he had managed to gain her attention. "Now we need to execute our plan." This isn't over, Isaac and Twilight. I will be back and I will have my revenge. With that they both left as they looked to plan their next move.
Isaac and Twilight just watched Starlight and Sunburst leave as they knew this wouldn't be the last time they saw each other. As they left, the thing that Starlight had said started to float in their minds as it caused both of them to think about their own future.
"They paved the way, they carved a path. But when the hell do I get to walk on that path!?!!!"
During the duel, Celestia had received a phone call as she told her sister she had to excuse herself. With that Celestia stepped out as Luna was left in charge of the group. She was currently talking with someone as they were discussing something rather important.
"Once again congratulations on this honor, Celestia. You've been dreaming of this since you participated in your first pro duel." said the man's voice with a bit playfulness. "But you remember the deal we made all those years ago."
"I do. And I realize that my time is nearly upon me." said Celestia with a bit of sadness in her voice.

Why does it sound like Celestia's going to die or something
A really great duel there.
Only error I see is when Sunburst appears to be using the TCG/OCG version of Xyz Reflect, which wouldn't have stopped Bottomless Trap Hole since the trap doesn't target. The anime version of Xyz Reflect doesn't require the enemy's card to be targeting, just if the effect involves destroying the xyz monster is when the counter trap can activate.
