Chapter 194: Exam #1

"It's time." spoke a voice as it belonged to a boy.

Isaac had been up for about an hour after he woke up as he had to get his mindset in the right place. He looked at his watch as he had been counting down the minutes till it was time. The battle with Starlight was one sign that his time was coming to end as all he had were the student's exams, then prom and graduation. While they may have been just a few days, to him it was but hours of his life left. And it was calling out to him, time itself was looking to claim the boy. So with whatever time he had left, he'd better make the most of it. He then grabbed his small rectangle device and put it on his arm just slightly above his watch, Isaac put on his cap as he straighten it and his hoodie out. He looked to see his deck on his nightstand as he grabbed it and said a few words to his monsters as he put it in his deck box on his belt. He now made it downstairs as there in the living room were the girls as they too had been doing some last-minute preps.

Once they saw Isaac they knew it was the signal. Both pets watched the group do their little ritual.

"Roll call."

“Beast-type.'' said Fluttershy.

“Predaplant.” responded Applejack.

“Crystal Beast, darlings.” spoke Rarity.

“Red-Eyes.” stated Sunset.

“Toons and Madolche.” added Pinkie.

“U.A. and Speedroids.” commented Rainbow Dash.

“Spellbook.” answered Twilight.

“Magician.” Isaac now lifted his duel disk as did the others as all of them were touching each other.

With that the group now broke their little huddle as they all left through the door as they headed towards the school for the student's exams. The whole group was walking side by side in a line as they all had a determined look on their faces. The students were already present at the school as the entire day there was no school due to the Board of Education coming and evaluating Isaac's program. The students all talking when soon they all looked to the sidewalk as they saw their tutors and head professor coming down side by side as if they looked like they came out of a badass explosion. The sight alone did send shivers down their spines as they saw the older teens as they walked with a purpose as each was giving off a colorful aura. They all then stopped as they each looked forward with a dominating expression on their face and then at the students as that served as the sign that the endgame was officially here.

Isaac entered the school as he made his way to Celestia's office as inside was Luna. But it wasn't just them two, as they were currently talking with three people in suits two of whom were male and the third was a female.

"Isaac, you're here." said Celestia as she saw her student.

Isaac made his way in as he said hello to his principals and then looked at the suits who were from the Board of Education.

"Remember what's at stake here, Isaac." said the person who was in charge of the three of them.

"If the students do not pass the expectations, this program will be shut down." responded the female.

"So, pray that the students you selected for this experiment of yours are up to the test? Especially for your sake." stated the third person.

"I believe things will proceed smoothly. However, there is one thing that I ask..." said Isaac as he had a smile.

The students were all waiting in a huge room as there was nothing but a few chairs, a table, and a bench. When they saw their teachers approach, Isaac immediately told them to stay here in this room and wait till he came as he had some things to take care of. Not to mention that they still didn't know what their final exam was going to be, it was going to be one on one duels, but against who. During the time they waited, they each took one last look at their decks to make the final preparations and cards they were going to choose to go in with for their battles. Soon the door opened as in came Isaac as he was by himself. The students all then made their way to Isaac as he bent down on one knee as the teens did the same.

"It's time... this is the moment, that you and everybody else has been waiting for," spoke Isaac in a calm voice. "Now... the Board is here to see and evaluate your performances, so understand that while winning your duels is important, know there are other things that the Board will be looking at. Now, I have... something I want to tell you all. Do you guys... believe in the idea of spirits?"

"You mean, like ghosts." said Penny.

"I mean... Duel Monsters spirits."

"This is guy is our head professor?" said Shadow.

"I think Isaac's finally lost it." said Lucky Star.

"Boys, do you remember what I told you four during Valentine's Day. About how Duel Monsters have a soul of sorts?" said Isaac.

"Okay, who's got the number for the insane asylum?" asked Jack.

"Already on it." stated Amber.

"Just... hold out your decks." said Isaac as he could see the only way for the kids to understand what he meant was to show them.

The students all pulled out their decks as they held them out.

"Now, pick out a card and put it on top of your deck." stated Isaac.

The students then pulled out a card and put it on the top of their decks, Isaac then placed his hand on each one of them and closed his eyes. The group was confused about what their headmaster was doing as Isaac was concentrating. Soon they saw something in their hands as a few swirls circled their decks as soon it entered the deck. They were a bit scared at what they saw, as soon Isaac opened his eyes and then gestured behind them. The kids were shocked as they all turned back and saw what they couldn't believe. The card they each picked was the monster they choose as it was alive in a mirage-like presence.

"You're kidding me!" shouted the students in unison.

"Students, meet your monsters." said Isaac.

Each of their monsters approached their respective master and mistress. For Shadow, he had his Raidraptor - Singing Lanius at his feet as the small mechanical bird looked up at its owner and gave a peck at his feet. Penny had her Blizzard the Far North as the bird landed on her shoulder as it nuzzled against its mistress' check. Bryant saw his Performapal Hip Hippo as it let out a laugh as the boy petted his mammal. Amber got to see her Lunalight Blue Cat as she was just a few inches taller than her owner as she bent down on her feet and let her small mistress pet her as she let out a purr. Jack saw his Jinzo as he was taller than the boy as both machine and human looked at each other. They each saw the part of themselves that was once human as it reminded them of their humanity and allowed them to see how similar they were. Lucky Star saw her Harpie Girl as she gave her monster a loving hug as she began to talk with the small monster. And for Jason, he saw his Sage with Eyes of Blue as he gave the boy a fist bump.

As the kids were talking, Isaac just smiled as he was happy to see the kids understand his point.

"So, now you know." said Isaac as he got the student's attention as soon behind him were the spirits of his Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl.

"So you're not crazy?" stated Jason.

"I do speak with my cards and see the spirits of my monsters," said Isaac as both of his magicians bowed down behind their master as they showed their loyalty and relationship with the young boy. "To me, they are more than allies, they are more than servants, they are more than my beck and call, they are my friends. And they are what I draw my inner strength from." Isaac then snapped his fingers as all of the monster spirits returned to their masters' decks as it was just Isaac and the students.

"Now then, the tests begin. You all signed the disclosure agreement that you will not tell each other of your results. Through that door, you'll have your final challenge. Now you all have five minutes with each of your tutors for you and them to say some final words. I'm grateful for all you've done by being part of this program. Every single thing that I've done was to push you all to the best of your ability. Know that whether you win or lose your duel, you'll all winners in my eyes." smiled Isaac as he put his hand in as the students did the same.

"Thank you, Isaac." said the students.

"Now go kick ass!!!" shouted Isaac as allowed the kids to walk through the door.

The students all walked through the door as they began to walk down the hallway. Soon they reached another set of doors as they opened it and inside were the girls as each one of them went to their tutor.

Lucky Star saw Applejack as she looked at her teacher.

"Well, sugar. This is it. Yer time to shine and show them fancy suits who the hell you are. Why you won that Fall Formal tournament."

"I will... and... thank you, Applejack. Being alone for so long of my childhood, I got used to not having my parents around. I figured that they won't ever get to see the things I do since they were always so busy with work. But now... they're doing everything they can to make sure that we make up for lost time. And you gave me the sense of belonging, of having a family, having someone who is there for me. I guess... I'm glad to have someone like you as my tutor, but also as a friend, and a sister." smiled Lucky Star.

"And I'm glad to have to have someone like you as my student." said Aj as she took off her stetson hat and hugged her student as the two girls let tears roll down their eyes as they were having a touching moment.

Soon the P.A. system went off as it served as the signal for the students to start.

Applejack wished Lucky Star good luck as she and the other students all stepped to seven different doors as each one was placed in front of them. They all looked at one another as they each gave small fist bumps as soon all seven of them entered their doors simultaneously. Each of the kids was in a black holding space as there was another door before them as there was a neon sign above it that would indicate when it was their turn. Soon one door of the set turned green as it said ready as the person slotted in their deck and opened the door.

Lucky Star came to another room full of black as she couldn't make out anything. Soon a single spotlight shined down as it served as the only thing to light her vision. She then stepped into the spotlight as she then looked above in some sort of private room there was Isaac with the three business members from the Board as they all sat down, each with a clipboard in their hand. Isaac then reached for the mic as he spoke into it.

"Contestant #1, Lucky Star. Winner of this year's Fall Formal tournament. Deck archetype: Harpie." said Isaac as he relayed the info to the executives and so the girl could hear it. "Now then... let the exam begin." Isaac then pushed another button as soon the whole room lit up as it caused the girl to cover up for a sec as she soon found herself on a dueling field. She then looked forward as standing there was her opponent.

The person entered the room as they slotted in their deck into their duel disk as it activated and projected a sky blue card tray.

"Ready to duel." said Rainbow with an imposing tone as she took her position.

"Ready." said Lucky Star as she activated her duel disk and projected an emerald light card tray.

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.

Lucky Star's Life Points: 8000-

Rainbow Dash's Life Points: 8000-

Turn 1: Rainbow

"Here I go, I draw!" shouted Rainbow as she drew her card with a blue light effect. "To start, since I control no monsters, I can special summon this my Speedroid Terrortop(1200/600). And then Terrortop's effect activates, when it's summoned, I can add a 'Speedroid' from my deck to my hand." Rainbow's duel disk then ejected the card she wanted as she grabbed it. "Then I'll play U.A. Draft. so by paying 500 life points, I can special summon a 'U.A' monster from my deck or graveyard. So, I'm busting out, U.A. Dreadnought Dunker(2500/1800)!" A muscular basketball player in dark blue and black pants and a thick silver and orange chest piece materialized in front of Rainbow as her monster got up from bending down as it gave its captain a fist bump.
Rainbow's Life Points: 7500-

"Now I'll play the card I got with my Terrortop, it's my Speedroid CarTurbo(800/1200). And I can special summon it since I control a Wind monster," said Rainbow as out came a small machine as soon it moved its function as a book appeared as the head. "Now I'll tune my Level 3 Speedroid CarTurbo with my Level 3 Speedroid Terrortop!" shouted the girl as her CarTurbo changed into three giant green rings that circled her Terrortop.

"She's already synchro summoning on her first turn?!" said Lucky Star with some fear.

"I'm now tuning them together to call forth a mystical cross-sword with the power to cut every enemy down to size! I Synchro Summon! Hi-Speedroid Kendama(2200/1600)! Then I'll activate my Kendama's special ability, so by banishing a Machine-type monster from my graveyard, I can deal you 500 points of damage." Rainbow's duel disk then ejected her Terrortop as she grabbed it and moved it to the banished compartment of her duel disk as her monster shot an energy beam at Lucky Star who put her duel disk arm up.
Lucky Star's Life Points: 7500-

"With that, I end my turn."

Turn 2: Lucky Star

"My draw, and to start, I'll activate Hysteric Sign. And on the turn that I activate this card, I can add 'Elegant Egotist' from my deck to my hand." said Lucky Star as her duel disk then ejected the card for her to grab. "Then I'll discard my Harpie Queen so that I can add my field spell, Harpie's Hunting Ground from my deck to my hand, then I'll activate it." Lucky Star then played her field spell as the entire dueling field changed for her and Rainbow as in the private box, Isaac and the Board could see it through the mirage look.

"So far the student is subpar at best." said the member in charge.

"It's only the first turn, and remember stick to the rubric I gave you," stated Isaac with a smile as he shut up the business suit before making any further comments.

"Now I'll play my Birdface(1600/1600) in defense mode. And thanks to my field spell, he gains 200 more attack and defense points as will all my other monsters." said Lucky Star as she played her first monster of the duel as it appeared on one knee with its arms crossed in an x-formation.

"I'll then end my turn."

Turn 3: Rainbow

"My turn," said Rainbow as she drew her card and let out a set of wide eyes as she looked at it.

Remember, don't hold back.

Rainbow was reminded of what she was told as she looked up at the private box as she was looking at a certain individual.

"I now activate the effect of my Kendama once again, so I banish my Speedroid CarTurbo to deal you 500 points of damage." said Rainbow as she removed her other monster in the graveyard as another beam shot towards Lucky Star.
Lucky Star's Life Points: 7000-

"Now to attack, Kendama attack her monster. And Kendama can deal piercing damage!" shouted Rainbow as her monster took out Lucky Star's monster.
Lucky Star's Life Points: 6600-

"When my Birdface is destroyed, I can then add a 'Harpie Lady' from my deck to my hand." said Lucky Star as her duel disk ejected her card.

"And now Dreadnought Dunker attack her directly!" Rainbow's monster heard the command given by his captain that he started to race forward into a fast sprint. He then pushed off the ground as he had some blue energies gathering in his hand as it took the form of a ball as he then slammed it down onto the ground around the girl as she covered up.
Lucky Star's Life Points: 4100-

"I end my turn."

"Already down to half her life points, and she's yet to do anything. Failing grade it looks like." said the female.

"The exam isn't over, madam. So before you make an ass of yourself by prejudging the girl, open your eyes and pay attention to what you're seeing." snickered Isaac as he didn't care about the attitude he was given when he was shit-talking with members of the Board.

Turn 4: Lucky Star

"Damn." said Lucky Star as she realized the situation she was in given that Rainbow had brought her down to half her life total.

"Give up?" asked Rainbow.

"Never." responded Lucky Star.

"That's what I want. Now show me!" demanded the chromatic girl.

"Right then, here goes, I draw! I now summon Cyber Harpie Lady(1800/1300). And by summoning my Cyber Harpie Lady not only does it get 200 points to both stats, but the effect of my field spell activates, whenever I summon a 'Harpie' monster, I can destroy one spell or trap on the field, so I'll choose... my Hysteric Sign!" shouted Lucky Star as her spell was destroyed.

"What?" said Rainbow in confusion.

"My Hysteric Sign now has another effect, in that when it's destroyed, at the end of the turn, I can add 3 'Harpie' cards from my deck to my hand. Next, I'll play Alluring Mirror Spilt and with this whenever a 'Harpie' or 'Harpie Lady Sisters' are destroyed in battle, I can replace them with another 'Harpie' monster from my deck. Then I'll play Elegant Egotist so that since I control Harpie Lady, I can then special summon Harpie Lady Sisters(1950/2100) from my deck!" Lucky star now had her trio monster as all three ladies descended from the sky and onto the field. "Like before my field spell activates so now I destroy one spell or trap, so I choose my Alluring Mirror Spilt!"

"Kid, why are you doing this? This is helping me more than it helps you." stated Rainbow.

"Cause when my Alluring Mirror Spilt is destroyed, I can target one 'Harpie' monster in my graveyard and then special summon it, so I bring back my Harpie Queen!" shouted Lucky Star as she now had a third monster on the field as out rose her leader of the Harpies as she had white feathers and beautiful to complement her body. "And with that, I summon another Harpie so I destroy another spell or trap, and this time it's my field spell." With that, the entire field was now back to normal as the mirage illusion of the jungle was gone.

"Again, what the hell? You just got rid of your cards and your monsters don't get the 200 point boost." said Rainbow.

"Marking done, doesn't know how to properly strategize." said the third suit.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what your wife thought of when you tried to make love to her and failed." said Isaac as he got the three members to look at him as he had a smug smile on his face. "I told you all, we do this and grade this, my way. So stick to the rubric I gave you, and try not to let your asshole of yourself get in the way."

"Now I'll play my Cyber Shield to give my Harpie Lady Sisters 500 more attack points." said Lucky Star.

"Still, my Dreadnought Dunker can take it out."

"Which is why I'm not done, cause now I tune my Level 4 Cyber Harpie Lady with my Level 4 Harpie Queen so that I can synchro summon. And I can have one of my Harpie monsters count as a tuner for this monster that I'm summoning." Harpie Queen then flew up into the sky as it turned into four giant green rings that circled Cyber Harpie Lady as she flew in between them. "I Synchro Summon, Cyber Slash Harpie Lady(2600/1400)!" shouted Lucky Star as her card ejected from her duel disk as she held it up high in white light and then placed it on her card tray. Out emerged a brand new monster as it was a harpie lady that wore a gold bodysuit and had pink feathers that matched her long flowing pink hair.

"What did I say," stated Isaac with a smug smile. "Lucky Star did all this so that she could have two powerful monsters on the field, which is why she targeted her cards. By destroying them and activating their other effect, she was able to set up the pieces to where she needed them to be so that she could bring out two powerful cards."

"Now, Harpie Lady Sisters, attack her Hi-Speedroid Kendama!" shouted Lucky Star as she had her trio sisters all fly high into the sky as she one did a slash attack with their claws as they took out Rainbow's monster.
Rainbow's Life Points: 7750-

"Now Cyber Slash Harpie Lady take out her Dreadnought Dunker!" Lucky Star's other monster then took out Rainbow's other monster.
Rainbow's Life Points: 7650-

"With that, I end my turn with a facedown. And now my Hysteric Sign's effect takes hold, so now I can add 3 'Harpie' cards from my deck to my hand." Lucky Star then used her duel screen as she looked through her entire deck as she made her decisions as they all slid out for her to grab as she refilled her empty hand.

Turn 5: Rainbow

"My turn and I'll activate the effect of my U.A. Draft so by paying 500 life points, I can special summon my U.A. Dreadnought Dunker back from my graveyard." said Rainbow as she now had her monster back in play.
Rainbow's Life Points: 7150-

"Now, I'll have my Dreadnought Dunker attack her Harpie Lady Sisters!" stated Rainbow as her monster fired a blue energy beam at Lucky Star's monster.
Lucky Star's Life Points: 4050-

"With that, I end my turn."

Turn 6: Lucky Star

"My draw, and now I'll summon my Phantom Gryphon(2000/0)." Out emerged a monster as it had the body of a lion and the head of an eagle as it let out a cry. "Now time to attack, Cyber Harpie Slash Lady attack her Dreadnought Dunker!" shouted the girl as her monster soared over to Rainbow's side of the field as it did another slash attack as it took out Rainbow's monster for a second time.
Rainbow's Life Points: 7050-

"Now Phantom Gryphon strike her directly!" shouted Lucky Star as her other winged beast soared high into the sky as it looked its sights on the chromatic girl as it took a swipe at Rainbow who shifted her stance as she was pushed back a few inches but held her ground.
Rainbow's Life Points: 5050-

"With that, I end my turn."

"Well, seems she made a comeback." said the person in charge of the trio.

"You're all welcome from being completely embarrassed for being assholes." snickered Isaac as he gave a smug smile to the suits as he wrote down some things on his clipboard as he watched Lucky Star. He then looked at Rainbow as he knew what she was going to do.

Turn 7: Rainbow

"Well, kid. You've grown since the beginning of the year. I see Applejack taught you well." smiled Rainbow.

"Thanks." smiled Lucky Star.

"But I also learned some new things as well," stated Rainbow. And time to test it out, just need the card. "Now let me show you something, I draw!" Rainbow drew her card as it was highlighted in blue light as she looked at it and had the biggest smile on her face as she got the final piece. "Alright! I drew the card I needed, so now I can do this. Using the Scale 1 Speedroid Marble Machine and Scale 8 Speedroid Dominobutterfly, I set the pendulum scale!" shouted Rainbow as she placed her cards on the far side of her card tray as the word pendulum in rainbow coloring spelled out in between them to show that she got it to work. Soon both of Rainbow's monsters appeared in columns of light as they had their respective numbers in front of them.

"Pendulum scale? Where did you get those cards?" said Lucky Star as she wasn't expecting Rainbow to have pendulum cards.

"Aw yeah! Now I can summon as many monsters as I want from Levels 2 through 7," stated Rainbow as she was smiling at the magical lights and effects that were happening in front of her. "I Pendulum Summon Speedroid Block-n-Roll(1000/1800) and Speedroid Den-Den Daiko Duke(1000/1000)!" A portal above Rainbow then opened up as two lights came out as both of her monsters now appeared on her field at the same time.

"You pendulum summoned?"

"Yeah I did and it was so awesome!" said Rainbow as she was acting like a fangirl. "Now I'll tune my Level 3 Den-Den Daiko Duke with my Level 4 Block-n-Roll!" Rainbow's tuner monster then leaped high into the air as it turned into three giant green rings as they circled her other monster as it was in between them all. "Beat your wings to whip up a whirlwind of destruction! I Synchro Summon, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon(2500/2000)!" Rainbow's mighty beast now emerged as it let out a roar as it reigned over the battlefield.

"Now the effect of my Block-n-Roll activates since I used it as Synchro Material, I can create a 'Speedroid Token'(0/0) that has the same level as the monster that was synchro summoned, so my token is Level 8." said Rainbow as her token rose in defense mode. "Now Clear Wing take out her Phantom Gryphon! Spin Storm Sky Strike!" shouted the chromatic girl as her dragon soared into the air as it then came down spinning fast as it came down and took out Lucky Star's monster.
Lucky Star's Life Points: 3550-

"I end my turn with a facedown."

Turn 8: Lucky Star

"My draw," said Lucky Star as she drew her card. Under normal circumstances, I would use my monster's ability to return Rainbow's monster to her Extra Deck, but her Clear Wing can just negate it and destroy my monster and gain its attack points. So that's out of the question.

"First, I set a monster facedown. Now Cyber Slash Harpie Lady take out her Clear Wing!" commanded Lucky Star.

"I activate my facedown, Burning Sonic! With this trap, not only do I negate your attack, but now my monster gains 500 more attack points." said Rainbow as her dragon got stronger.

"I guess I'll end my turn."

Turn 9: Rainbow

"My turn, and now I'll use the effect of my U.A. Draft, so by paying 500 life points, I can special summon my U.A. Blockbacker(1600/2700) in defense mode." Rainbow's monster now rose in defense mode as it put its hands out as it was ready to block anything that might come its way. "Now Clear Wing take out her monster!"

"I activate my facedown, Fleur Guard! Now my Cyber Slash Harpie Lady can't be destroyed in battle this turn." said Lucky Star as she managed to save herself from losing her monster.

"But you still take damage!" stated Dash as her monster pushed back her monster as Lucky Star fell to a knee.
Lucky Star's Life Points: 3150-

"Now bad, kid. I'll end my turn."

Turn 10: Lucky Star

"My turn, and since I control a Level 5 or higher monster, I can special summon my Harpie Oracle(1300/1400)." Lucky Star's monster now appeared as it was a female harpie who had blue leggings, blue hair, and held a blue orb in her hands. "Now the other effect, of my monster activates, so now I can retrieve a spell/trap card from my graveyard that lists 'Harpie Lady Sisters', so I choose my Elegant Egotist. Then I'll activate it so that I can special summon another Harpie Lady Sisters from my deck." said Lucky Star as her Oracle used its orb as it made her comrade appear. "Now I'll activate the effect of my Cyber Slash Harpie Lady, so now I can target your Clear Wing and return it to your Extra Deck!"

"Don't think so, cause I activate Clear Wing's ability, now only does it put the brakes on your monster's effect, but it can destroy it and then my dragons gains your monster's attack points! Go Reverse Revenge!!" shouted Rainbow as her dragon looked to absorb Lucky Star's monster.

"Not if I activate this, from my hand, I play a trap!"

"A trap! But you need to set it first." stated Rainbow.

"Now quite, see if I control a 'Harpie' monster, I can activate this card from my hand. I play Harpie's Feather Storm! With this, I can negate your Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effects! So looks like my Harpie's effect is going through." said Lucky Star as her monster was about to send Rainbow's monster away.

"Time for plan B! Now if my monster is targeted by an effect, I can get rid of Burning Sonic instead to avoid it!" shouted Rainbow as she managed to keep her dragon from disappearing.

"Well played, but then I guess I'll take out your dragon the old-fashioned way, attack her dragon!" shouted Lucky Star as she managed to have her monster take out Rainbow's beast as it was destroyed.
Rainbow's Life Points: 4950-

"Not bad, kid." smiled Rainbow.

"Thanks, now I'll have my Harpie Oracle take out your token and then end my turn with a facedown."

Turn 11: Rainbow

"My turn, and to kick this off, I'm activating U.A. Draft, so by paying 500 life points, I can special summon my U.A. Mighty Slugger(2300/700) to the field!" Rainbow’s newest monster descended from a portal above her, a baseball star in black and silver sports armor. It posed with an arm held out, a metal cylinder in its hand, and with a flash of light, it extended a holographic red light in the shape of a baseball bat.
Rainbow's Life Points: 4450-

"Now Mighty Slugger take out her Harpie Lady Sisters!" shouted Rainbow. Her monster then got into a ready stance as it tossed the baseball to Rainbow. She then got into her pitcher stance as she then shifted her weight and threw it as her monster who saw the ball coming and as hard as it could, swung its bat as the ball did a curve as it soon collided with the trio sisters as they exploded.

"With that, I end my turn."

Turn 12: Lucky Star

"Then it's my turn, and I'll flip over my Harpie Lady #3(1300/1400). Then I summon Harpie Perfumer(1400/1300). And when she's summoned, I get to add a spell/trap card from my deck that lists 'Harpie Lady Sisters' but since I control a Level 5 or higher monster, I can add a second card." Lucky Star's monster emerged as it was a harpie who had a perfume bottle in her hand as her mistress chose her selected cards as her duel disk ejected them for her to grab. "Next, I'll play this, Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation!"

"Oh no." said Rainbow as she saw a huge phoenix appeared above Lucky Star as it let out a cry.

"Now I can destroy up to as many of your monsters as I have 'Harpie Lady' monsters that I control, so say goodbye to both your monsters!" shouted Lucky Star as the phoenix above then descended on to Rainbow's entire field as the girl turned away to avoid feeling the heat of the flames. "And then you take damage equal to your monsters' combined attack."
Rainbow's Life Points: 550-

"Lucky for you, I can't attack the turn that I play my spell, but I got something better, cause now I'll overlay my Level 4 Harpie Perfumer, Oracle, and Harpie Lady #3 to build the Overlay Network!" shouted Lucky Star as all three of her monsters then transformed into dark orbs of light as they hovered in the air for a bit as a portal opened up in front of her. Soon all three lights entered the portal as a pillar of light emerged. "I Xyz Summon, Harpie's Pet Phantasmal Dragon(2000/2500, OLU: 3)!" Out emerged the creature as it had a chain wrapped around its neck as it let out a vicious growl.

"I'll then play this Harpie Feather Duster, so say goodbye to both of your pendulum cards." said Lucky Star as she blew away Rainbow's spell cards.

"Well, like Isaac said, when pendulum cards are destroyed they go to the extra deck." said Rainbow as she grabbed her cards and slid them into the Extra Deck compartment of her duel disk.

"With that, I end my turn and must detach an overlay unit from my dragon."

Turn 13: Rainbow

"My turn, and to start, I destroy my U.A. Draft which allows me the ability to draw two cards," said Rainbow as she got rid of her spell and drew some more from the top of her deck. "Then I'll play this spell card, Speedraw. So since I control no cards, I can draw 2 more cards then I send a 'Speedroid' monster from my hand to the graveyard. Then I play Speed Recovery so that I can revive a 'Speedroid' monster from my graveyard and I choose to resurrect the one I just sent, my Speedroid Skull Marbles(0/3000) in defense mode!" said Rainbow as her monster appeared before her.

"With that, I lay one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 14: Lucky Star

"My turn, and time to take you out, cause my Phantasmal Dragon can be able to attack you directly!" shouted Lucky Star as she looked to bring this duel to a close.

"I activate my facedown, Nutrient Z! So now since I'm about to take 2000 points of damage, I gain 4000 life points." said Rainbow as she managed to buy herself some more time.
Rainbow's Life Points: 4550-

"Still, you take damage. Push forward!" shouted Lucky Star as her dragon fired a pillar of fire as Dash covered up.
Rainbow's Life Points: 2550-

"Not bad, so I'll end my turn with a facedown, and now my dragon loses another Xyz material."

Turn 15: Rainbow

Thank goodness for my trap, it bought me the time I needed. Rainbow then drew her card as she was now looking through her hand to figure out her plan.

"I simply place one card facedown."

Turn 16: Lucky Star

"Then let's get to it, draw. I now play Cyber Shield so that I can give my Cyber Slash Harpie Lady an extra 500 point boost and then activate her effect so now I can target your monster and return it to your hand," said Lucky Star as she managed to leave Rainbow without any monsters. "Now take her out, Cyber Slash Harpie attack her directly!"

"I reveal my facedown, Reinforce Truth! This lets me special summon a Level 2 or lower Warrior monster from my deck, so rise X-Saber Pashuul(100/0) in defense mode!" An elderly warrior with a massive mess of tangled black hair, dark blue armor, and a massive sword, appeared in front of Rainbow and knelt. "And the best part is X-Saber Pashuul can’t be destroyed in battle!"

"Not bad, but I can still attack you directly with my Phantasmal Dragon!" stated the teen as her dragon dealt another hit to Rainbow who protected herself from the fireball as she had a few scuff marks on her body.
Rainbow's Life Points: 550-

"With that, I end my turn and now my monster loses the last overlay unit." said Lucky Star.

Turn 17: Rainbow

"My draw, and now I'll play spell card, Shadow Stepper. So now I can target a monster on your field and then I can special summon one monster from my graveyard that has the same level or less than the monster I chose, but its effects are negated. So I'll pick your Cyber Slash Harpie so now I bring back my Speedroid Kendama!" stated Rainbow. "With that done, I now tune my Level 2 X-Saber Pashuul with my Level 6 Hi-Speedroid Kendama!" X-Saber Pashuul then changed into two giant green rings as they circled Rainbow's other monster that flew in between. "I Synchro Summon! Rise, Colossal Fighter(2800/2000)!” The light receded, revealing a massive figure in thick beige armor. It stood up, light gleaming off a green visor over its eyes, and crossed its arms.

"Not bad, but it's still weak compared to my Cyber Slash Harpie."

"True, that is until I activate my monster's effect, see for every 'Warrior' that's in my graveyard, my Colossal Fighter gains 100 extra attack points. And I currently have four, U.A. Dreadnought Dunker, Mighty Slugger, Blockbacker, and X-Saber Pashuul, so now my Colossal Fighter has 3200 attack points. Next up, I play the spell card Speedroid Scratch. So I can trade in one Speedroid for an even better one." said Rainbow as she sent one of her cards in her hand to the graveyard as she used her duel screen to make her decision on which one she wanted as it slid out for her to grab.

"Now Colossal Fighter attack her Cyber Slash Harpie Lady!" Colossal Fighter jumped up and descended, slamming a massive fist into the front of Lucky Star's monster.

"With that, I end my turn."

Turn 18: Lucky Star

"My draw and I'll switch my Phantasmal Dragon to defense mode. Then I'll reveal my facedown, Synchro Back. So now I return my Cyber Slash Harpie Lady to my Extra Deck and then I get to summon it during my next turn." said Lucky Star as her duel disk ejected the card for her to grab as she put it in her Extra Deck portion of her duel disk.

"With that, I'll end my turn with a facedown."

Turn 19: Rainbow

"My turn and to start, I'll play Hi-Speedroid Re-Level. So now I banish my Hi-Speedroid Kendama from my graveyard so that I can change my Colossal Fighter from Level 8 to 6. Then I'll summon my U.A. Strategist(1000/600)." A monster in a silver uniform with blue and orange stripes, a clipboard under one arm, and a whistle dangling from its neck. The monster raised its head, eyes staring sharply under a white baseball cap, and let out a grunt. "Now, I'll activate my Strategist's effect, so by returning my U.A. Backblocker from my graveyard back to my deck, I can have my Strategist lose a level. Then I'll tune both of my monsters together!" Rainbow's Strategist then lifted and blew into his whistle as it echoed and then turned into two giant green rings that circled Colossal Fighter as jumped in beat them. "I Synchro Summon, Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon(3500/3000)!" Rainbow now had one of her most powerful monsters on the field.

"And now to take out her monster! Crystal Cataclysmic Strike!" shouted Rainbow as her dragon then destroyed Lucky Star's dragon.

"With that, I end my turn with a facedown."

Turn 20: Lucky Star

"My turn, and now my Cyber Slash Harpie Lady is back in play. Then I'll play the spell card, Harpie's Feather Rest, so now I can take my Cyber Harpie Lady and both Harpie Lady Sisters from my graveyard and shuffle them back into my deck, and then I can draw 2 cards since I control a Level 5 or higher monster." said Lucky Star as her duel disk ejected the cards for her to grab as she placed them on top of her deck as the auto shuffler kicked in. She then drew her cards. "Now I'll activate the effect of my monster, so since a spell was activated, I can return your Crystal Wing to your Extra Deck."

"Yeah, right! Crystal Wing's ability allows me to stop your monster's effect, and then destroy it!" stated Rainbow.

"Which is why I have this, from my hand, I activate Harpie's Feather Storm! And you know what it does, so your dragon can't save itself," said Lucky Star as Rainbow's dragon powered down as it was then returned to her Extra Deck. "Time to finish this, Cyber Slash Harpie Lady attack her directly!"

"I reveal my facedown, Synchro Spirits! So now I remove one synchro monster from my graveyard and I can bring back the monsters I used to summon it. So I'll remove my Clear Wing Synchro Dragon so that I can revive both my Speedroid Den-Den Daiko Duke and Block-n-Roll." Rainbow then saw her dragon eject as she said a quick thank you to her monster as she knew its sacrifice would help her to win. She then grabbed her two monsters and placed them in defense mode.

"Well, I can still take one of them out."

"That's where I'm activating the effect of my Speedroid Tri-Eyed Diced. I sent it away when I activate my Synchro Scratcher and it worked out. Cause by banishing it, I can negate your attack!" stated the chromatic girl as she managed to avoid her monsters from being destroyed.

"Not bad, you bought yourself some time. I end my turn."

Turn 21: Rainbow

"My turn, and time I end this, draw! I play this, U.A IQ. So now I can bring back a Level 4 or lower 'U.A.' monster from my graveyard, so rise one more time, U.A. Strategist." said Rainbow as she had a monster on the field once more. "Now, I'll tune all three of my monsters together for one final time!" U.A. Strategist then blew its whistle as it turned into three giant green rings as it circled its comrades as they all were in between them. "I call in the unparalleled master of the field! Meet a superstar like no other! I Synchro Summon! Rushing in, U.A. Star Player(2700/2500)!” The pillar of light receded, revealing a darkened form floating in the air. Clad head to toe in a silver bodysuit with glowing blue and orange stripes up the sides, it hung ominously in the air. The monster raised its head, scruffy blond hair blowing in the wind, and dropped to the ground, landing on its feet. It held a hand to the side and a pair of orange sunglasses appeared in its fingers; it slipped them on, grinned, and reared up to its full height, arms crossed.

"Next up, I'm equipping my monster with U.A. Powered Jersey to give my U.A. Star Player an extra 1000 attack/defense points. Now take out her Cyber Slash Harpie Lady!" shouted Rainbow as her monster raced forward and then jumped high into the air as it delivered a high kick that took out Lucky Star's monster. "And the effect of my Powered Jersey allows me to deal double the battle damage."
Lucky Star's Life Points: 850-

"And to finish this off, cause since my monster destroyed yours, it can attack again thanks to U.A. Powered Jersey."

"No." said Lucky Star as she realized what that meant. She then looked up as there was Rainbow's monster standing in front of her as it then raised its arm as it had its hand just a few meters from her face.

"You lose." said Rainbow as her monster then fired a blue energy beam at Lucky Star as she took the attack and was thrown onto her back.

Remember what Isaac told the kids, winning or losing their duels doesn't mean the end all be all. He gave a rubric for both him and the Board of Education to follow when grading the students. So whatever grade they give the students will determine the outcome of whether or not his program either help CHS or fails.
