Chapter 150: Securing the Final Spot
The duel was over as the field was now back to normal as on the screen behind Isaac, had the portraits of the two duelists who just battled. One of them was now greyed out as the winner's portrait was highlighted in a yellow border.
"The third duel has concluded and the winner is... Lucky Star!" said Luna. "She was able to maintain her momentum even when looked like Rarity was about to secure the win for her, in the end, Lucky Star was able to pull through and claim victory."
"And with that victory she moves on to the next round of this tournament. And with that three out of the four slots are now filled." Celestia then pointed back at the screen as it showed the ones who had qualified. "The duelists moving on so far are as follow, Penny, Fluttershy, and now Lucky Star. That being said, we still have one spot remaining and how fitting is it that the next duel coming up will determine who gets that final spot. In the last duel of the day, it will be Shadow Moonrise taking on Twilight Sparkle."
Both Twilight and Shadow looked up at the screen as it told them that their battle was about to get underway very soon. Isaac too was looking at the screen as he had something weighing on his mind.
"We'll allow the participants to have sometime to prep themselves before we begin the final duel of the day." informed Celestia as she gave the sign for everyone and the crew to take a quick breather.
"Finally, we're gonna see Twilight battle." said Spike as the TV was now running commercials until the broadcast feed returned.
"Meow." said Opal as she stretched her limbs.
"I am not losing this bet!" shouted Spike. "Not when Twilight promised me 5 treats for every mealtime. That's a good as it's gonna get."
"Meow." said Tigre.
"Whatever!" said Spike. "I know Twilight's got this in the bag, plus it'll make for an interesting duel if she wins the whole thing. What do you guys think?" asked Spike as he addressed Tank, Ray and Angel. The others just looked at their fellow companion with different looks.
"Meow." said Opal with some sass.
"You'll see! And then I can put this pussy cat in her place." stated Spike as he pointed his paw at Tigre.
Shadow was now getting himself psyche for his upcoming duel. This is it, I've already taken down Sunset. Now it's Ms. Sparkle who's my opponent. Not to mention she's Isaac's girlfriend, which is an understatement. I can only assume that with how much time they spend together, she probably knows all of his moves. So in a weird way, it'll be like I'm facing Isaac. So hope she doesn't mind being target practice.
"Getting your mindset right?" said Isaac as he appeared behind the male teen.
"Believe it or not, yes." replied Shadow.
"You did well in your match against Sunset. Now you're facing Twilight. So you can expect this duel to be a bit more challenging."
"No shit! She's your girlfriend."
"Is that suppose to mean something?" asked Isaac as he added bit of sternness in his voice when Shadow made that comment.
"Woah, calm down. I meant that as a compliment." said Shadow as he didn't want to upset Isaac.
"You'd better." said Isaac. "Oh, and I know about your 'secret'."
"What?" asked Shadow.
"You know the one involving a certain 'night-time' lady." said Isaac.
"Oh... you mean..." said Shadow as he was starting to get flustered from what his professor was implying. "Look... it's..."
"I get it, but eventually you're gonna have to tell her. And whatever happens, happens." said Isaac. "Don't think too much of it now, just focus on this tournament."
"Okay." nodded Shadow.
"Good, besides. Maybe if you win, you could attract Luna's attention, especially given what her deck is." said Isaac with a sly smile as he left.
"What does he mean, the deck that Vice-Principal uses?" said Shadow as he was now beginning to wonder just what kind of deck did she have.
Twilight was looking over her deck as she made the final changes. She then looked at her phone as she began to input something as it sent her a message. Since the morning, Twilight's program for her 'special project' was hard at work in rescanning and trying to move forward with the process. Other than that, it seemed that there wasn't much progress that was made so she figured that once this duel ended, she would get started on it once they made it back to the house.
"Can't worry about that now. I have to focus, cause my duel is next. Then if win, then I have to win two more and give Spike those treats I promised him." said Twilight. "But if I win... then... it means..." Twilight didn't bother finishing her statement as she was looking at the ground in front of her as she noticed a shadow looming over hers. She didn't need to turn around as she knew who it was; so Twilight turned around and there was the one person she was just thinking about.
Isaac was now standing a few feet away from Twilight as he had his hands in his pockets as he looked at his girlfriend. But compared to the other times when they were together, they had a smile on their faces. This time... there was no smile, instead Isaac had a stern expression as he had a determined and serious look on his face. And it wasn't just Isaac, but Twilight also had the same expression as her boyfriend. Seems the smile and happiness that was always on their faces was gone as they looked at each other. Seconds, then a few more seconds, which then turned into a few moments. All this time nothing was said by both individuals as they just looked at each other. Nothing was said. Nothing. Complete silence as they stared at one another.
"Hey." said Isaac with a serious tone.
"Hey." responded Twilight with the same attitude as she crossed her arms.
Once again the silence returned as both duelists looked at each other's eyes. Seems both knew what the other was thinking.
"Just wanted to say 'good luck'." said Isaac. "And maybe, just maybe." Isaac then turned around as he was now walking back towards his throne.
"Maybe." said Twilight as she still held a serious look as she kept her eyes on her boyfriend.
"Alright, we're about to start. Everybody, be quiet!" stated Spike as he jumped back onto the couch after fetching some more snacks for him and the rest of the animal crew as the TV came back from commercials and the live broadcast was back on as the final duel was about to start.
"Now then, ladies and gentleman, this will be the final duel to determine who gets the final spot in the semi-final round. To recap, the three moving on are currently: Penny, Fluttershy, and as of the last duel, Lucky Star. And this duel will pit Shadow Moonrise against one of the top duelists in CHS, and that's none other than Twilight Sparkle." said Celestia.
"Yes, but keep in mind, Celestia. In the first duel, Shadow was able to topple Sunset Shimmer who many claim is the closest person to have ever come in defeating Isaac. Safe to say this will be no 10 second win, he did impress many by beating a top veteran in Sunset." stated Luna.
"She was impressed?" said Shadow as he felt a bit of red come across his face as he heard Luna's statement.
"Now then, duelists lets get on with the final duel of the day." informed Celestia as both Twilight and Shadow were now making their way to the dueling field.
Shadow took one last glance at Luna as he hoped to continue to impress the older women. His attention then shifted towards Isaac as he was back to sitting on his throne as it caused him to forget about Luna as he was now refocused on his objective. Twilight was also looking at her boyfriend, but with a different intent. That moment she had with Isaac was now intensified even more as the two of them were literally staring at each other. The story being told by their eyes.
"Now... let the duel... begin!!!" shouted Luna.
At that sound, both Twilight and Shadow pulled out their decks and slid them in place as their duel disks projected their card trays with Twilight having a purple color while Shadow's had a dark blue.
"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.
Twilight Sparkle's Life Points: 8000-
Shadow Moonrise's Life Points: 8000-
Turn 1: Twilight
"I'll start this duel off, so here goes." said Twilight in a calm tone as she drew her card. "I'll start by playing my continuous spell card, Spellbook Star Hall! Now whenever I play a 'Spellbook' spell card, I can place a counter on this card and then each of my spellcasters gain 100 more attack points equal to the number of counters I've accumulated. Then I'll summon my Berry Magician Girl(400/400) in attack mode. When she's summoned I can add a 'Magician Girl' to my hand from my deck, so I'll add Apple Magician Girl." Twilight played her monster as out came a tiny youngling magician girl as she had a wand and a pacifier in her mouth. Her duel disk then ejected the card she requested as she added it to her hand.
"With that I end my turn."
Turn 2: Shadow
"A monster with only 400 attack points?" said Shadow to himself. "My draw, and to start I'll summon my Raidraptor - King Lanius to the field. Then I activate his special ability which allows me to special summon 1 Level 4 or lower 'Raidraptor' from my hand, so I'll also summon my Raidraptor - Retro Lanius(800/1200) in defense mode." Shadow now had two monsters on his field compared to Twilight who had a tiny monster on her side. Soon Shadow's Retro Lanius then created another copy as it caused Twilight to raise an eyebrow. "I guess I forget to tell you, when using Retro Lanius for an Xyz summon, it counts as 2 monsters. So now I overlay my Raidraptor - King Lanius and my two Retro Lanius to build the Overlay Network!" Shadow's trio of birds then changed into orbs of lights as they levitated into the air for a bit as a portal opened up in front of him. Soon the orbs of light disappeared into the portal as they combined together and a pillar of light emerged. "From the shadows, the falcon soars on wings of courage, talons ready for the rebellion! I Xyz Summon! Witness the ascent of Raidraptor - Rise Falcon(100/2000)!" Shadow now had a large mechanized falcon on his field as it let out a screech as it spreaded its wings.
"Now, I'll end my turn with a facedown."
Turn 3: Twilight
"Then it's my turn, and I'll start by summoning my Amore of Prophecy(600/2000) in defense mode. Then I'll activate my monster's special ability, so by revealing my Spellbook Library of the Crescent, I can special summon one Level 4 or lower spellcaster from my hand. So I'll summon my Apple Magician Girl(1200/800)." Twilight now had a female magician appear on her field as she joined her fellow comrades. "Then I'll play my Spellbook Library of the Crescent, since I have no 'Spellbooks' spell cards in my graveyard, then I can reveal 3 'Spellbooks' from my deck and you randomly choose which one to add to my hand while the others are shuffled back into my deck." Twilight then used her duel disk as she selected the ones she wanted.
"Now I reveal my Spellbook of Power, Spellbook of Knowledge, and Spellbook of Secrets." said Twilight as her cards projected for everybody to see. Then they all flipped over so that their backside her shown; they then started to rotate in a circle as they spun faster and faster until then came to a completely halt and then were lined up. "So, what's your choice?" asked Twilight.
"Hmm..." Shadow looked at the cards in front of him as he was trying to think which one he wanted, though given that they all looked the same, it proved to be difficult.
"Well?" gestured Twilight.
"Okay... I'll pick... the card... on the right." said Shadow as he pointed to his choice.
Twilight's duel disk then ejected the selected card as she looked at it and had a small smile on her face. Her duel disk then took the other options as the autoshuffler kicked in.
"Thanks for the assist, cause now I'll play the spell you added to my hand, my Spellbook of Secrets." stated Twilight. "Now I can add another 'Spellbook' card from my deck to my hand." Twilight then used her screen as she selected the one she wanted as it slid out for her to grab. "And don't forget about my previous spell card, my Spellbook Star Hall. Everytime I play a 'Spellbook', it gains a spell counter and for each of those counters, my spellcasters gain 100 more attack points. So since I've played 2 Spellbooks so far, that means I've gained two counters and now all my spellcasters on my field gain 200 extra attack points." stated Twilight as her monsters got even stronger. (Counter: 2)
"Now I'll move in to attack, Apple Magician Girl attack his Raidraptor - Rise Falcon!" shouted Twilight. Her monster then raised had a wand appear in her hands as she aimed it at Shadow's monster and then fired a spell as it looked to take out Rise Falcon.
"I activate my facedown, Raidraptor - Evasion. So returning one of its Xyz materials to my hand, my falcon can dodge your attack!" shouted Shadow as his Raidraptor Rise Falcon then flapped its wings as it soared up into the air as it evaded from Twilight's magician.
"Knew it wasn't going to be easy. In that case, I'll end my turn."
Turn 4: Shadow
"Then it's my turn." said Shadow as he drew his card. "Now I play my continuous spell card, Raptor's Intercept Formation."
"What does that do?" asked Twilight.
"My Raptor Intercept Formation allow me to switch the attack points of my Rise Falcon once per turn whenever it's target for an attack." stated Shadow.
Now then, I'll just end my turn."
Turn 5: Twilight
"My turn," stated Twilight as she drew her card, "I end my turn."
Turn 6: Shadow
"My draw, and just what I needed cause now I play the spell card, Raptor's Ultimate Mace. Thanks to this equip spell, my Raidraptor gains 1000 extra attack points. Then I'll activate my Rise Falcon's special ability, by using one overlay unit it can absorb the attack points of all your special summoned monsters and then it can attack each one of them." Shadow then grabbed one of his cards from under his Xyz monster as he sent it to the graveyard as Rise Falcon absorbed it. "Now my Rise Falcon gets 1400 more attack points from your Apple Magician Girl which raises its total attack power to 2500! Now Rise Falcon take out Apple Magician Girl, Ravaging Rebellion!!!" shouted Shadow.
"Now Apple Magician Girl's effect activates, since it became the target of an attack, I can special summon one Level 5 or lower monster from my hand and it becomes the new target. So I summon Magician's Valkyria(1600/1800) in defense mode." Twilight now had another female magician appear as she stepped in front of her comrades. "And the best part is that your monster's attack points are cut in half!" Rise Falcon then collided with Magician's Valkyria as it was pushed back by a spell as it went tumbled onto Shadow's field.
Shadow's Life Points: 7250-
"So, are you still gonna attack?" asked Twilight.
"Yeah, right." stated Shadow as he had his monster drop back to its original 1100 attack points. "I'll play Mystical Space Typhoon and destroy your Spellbook Star Hall. "
"When my Spellbook Star Hall is destroyed, I can add a spellcaster from my deck to my hand whose level is equal to or less than the number of spell counters I had on my spell card. So that means I can add a monster that's Level 2 or lower." Twilight then used her duel disk screen as she selected the card she wanted as it slid out for her to grab.
"I'll then lay a facedown."
Turn 7: Twilight
"My turn." said Twilight as she drew her card. Since my Star Hall was destroyed, all my monsters lose the extra bonus they had. But it did allow me to add a free monster to my hand. "Now I'll summon my Spellbook Magician of Prophecy(500/400) in defense mode." Twilight then summoned another magicians as it was a boy spellcaster as he had a book in his right hand. "Now the effect of my monster activates, when he's summoned I can add a 'Spellbook' spell card from my deck to my hand." Twilight then selected the card she wanted as it slid out for her to grab.
"I'll then end my turn with a facedown."
Turn 8: Shadow
"My turn, and I'll summon my Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius(1700/1000). Then it's special ability activates since it was summoned, I target one face-up attack position monster and switch it to defense mode. So now your Apple Magician Girl is in defense mode." stated Shadow. "Then I'll activate the effect of my Rise Falcon once more, by using the last overlay unit, it gains the attack points of all your special summoned monsters. So now it gains attack points equal to your Apple Magician Girl, and Magician's Valkyria and it can attack!" stated Shadow as his monster rose to 3900 attack points. "Go, Ravaging Rebellion!!!" Rise Falcon then engulfed itself in flames as it soared high into the air and then swooped down as it took out both of Twilight's monsters as her with ease.
"And then I'll have my Sharp Lanius take out your Spellbook Magician of Prophecy." said Shadow as his other monster took out another one of Twilight's magician. "Now, I play the spell Rank-Up-Magic Raid Force! Now I can summon one Xyz monster from my Extra Deck that's one rank higher." Rise Falcon then turned into an orb of light as it levitated in the air for a bit as a portal opened in front of Shadow. Soon it disappeared into the portal as a pillar of light emerged. "Go Rank-up Xyz Evolution, Raidraptor - Stranger Falcon(2000/2000, OLU: 1)." Shadow now had an even more powerful monster as it let out a screech.
"Now the other effect of my Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius activates, since it attacked I can now revive a 'Raidraptor' in my graveyard, so I special summon my Retrofit Lanius in defense mode." said Shadow. "I now end my turn."
Turn 9: Twilight
"Then it's my turn." said Twilight as she drew her card. "I now play Monster Recovery, now I return all my monsters on my field and cards in my hand back into my deck. Then I'll draw 5 new cards." Twilight then gathered all her cards as she place them on top of her deck as the autoshuffler kicked in and then she drew a new hand. "Now I play my Charioteer of Prophecy(1800/1200)." Twilight now had a monster coming in on a horse as he wielded a magical sword. "Then I'll activate his special ability, so by sending a 'Spellbook' spell card to my graveyard, I can add a spellcaster from my graveyard to my hand. So I'll do just that and add back my Magician's Valkyria." Twilight then slotted her card to the graveyard as another card slipped out for her to grab.
"Now the effect of the card that I sent to the graveyard activates, my Spellbook of Divinity. Since it was sent to the graveyard by a card effect, it allows me to remove a card from my deck for 3 turns." Twilight then selected the monster as she clicked on her duel disk screen as it moved the card from her deck to 'banished' compartment of her device. "Next up I play my Spellbook of the Deity, now upon playing this card it gains a counter. Then for every spell that's in play while this is on the field it gets another counter. With that I'll then have my Charioteer attack your Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius!" stated Twilight. Her monster then charged forward as he brought his sword down the mechanized bird as it exploded into tiny pieces.
Shadow's Life Points: 7150-
"With that I'll lay end my turn."
Turn 10: Shadow
"Right, then it's my turn." So far, Ms. Twilight just reshuffled her hand and played a decent monster. But then she sent a card away from her deck and now has a card that gains counters whenever a spell is played. Don't know what to expect, which means I need to end this quickly before she can hatch her plan. If she's Isaac's girlfriend, then I can expect her to be thinking 2 steps ahead. "Now I'll play my spell card, Pot of Greed to draw two more cards. Then I'll activate my Stranger Falcon's special ability, so by using its overlay unit, I can target one monster on your field and then destroy it." Stranger Falcon then absorbed its Xyz material as it let out a screech and then a whirlwind effect occurred that took out Twilight's monster. "Then you take damage equal to the destroyed monster's attack points. So you're getting slammed with 1800 points of damage." stated Shadow as he dealt some heavy damage to Twilight.
Twilight's Life Points: 6200-
"Now that you're defenseless, I'll attack, Raidraptor - Stranger Falcon attack her directly!" shouted Shadow.
"Just what I hoped for, cause now I activate my Spellbook of Denial. So now I can negate your attack and end the battle phase." said Twilight as she had a sly smile on her face.
"Impressive, well then I'll end my turn."
Turn 11: Twilight
"My turn, and now I'll play my spell card, Spellbook Library of the Heliosphere. Now thanks to this spell, since I have 5 or more 'Spellbooks' in my graveyard, I can reveal the top 2 cards of my deck and if any of them are 'Spellbook' then I can add them to my hand." Twilight's duel disk then projected her next two cards as everybody saw what they were. "Seems the cards are my Spellbook of Power and Spellbook of Wisdom. Since both are 'Spellbooks', I get to keep them. Then I'll summon my Temperance of Prophecy(1000/1000)." Out came a hooded figure as her face was concealed as she held a couple of flasks as they were connected by a magical chain and had symbols on the cups. "Now the effect of my Temperance of Prophecy activates, since I activated a 'Spellbook' previously I can then tribute my Temperance of Prophecy so that I can special summon 1 Level 5 or higher Light or Dark spellcaster-type from my deck. So Temperance work your magic!" commanded Twilight. Her monster then obeyed its mistress as it started to chant some ancient saying as the cups it was holding were now overflowing as it spilled out and landed near its feet. Then it started to glow as it surrounded Temperance and soon encased her as it shined with a bright light. Then it started to crack as a new monster emerged.
"I now summon my World of Prophecy(2900/2400)!" shouted Twilight. Out came a being as it was in a mediating trance as it floated in the air. It had angelic wings as it was deep in thought. "Now my monster's effect activates, since it was special summoned by the effect of a spellcaster, I can now add 2 'Spellbooks' from my graveyard back to my hand. So I'll take back my Spellbook of Secrets and Spellbook Library of the Heliosphere." Twilight's duel disk then slotted out her cards as she added them to her hand. "And now I'll play my Spellbook of Neutralization which allows me to negate the effect of a card until the end of the battle phase. So I choose your Raptor Intercept Formation. Now I'll have my World of Prophecy attack your Raidraptor - Stranger Falcon." World of Prophecy heard Twilight's command as it began to do the order given to it by its mistress. Then it brought its hands together as it unleashed a powerful attack that took out Stranger Falcon with ease.
Shadow's Life Points: 6250-
"My monster may be gone, but you destroy one raptor another will replace it. Like right now, I reveal my facedown, Rank-Up-Magic Raptor's Force!" Shadow's facedown then flipped up. "Now since an Xyz monster was destroyed this turn, I can revive it and then use it to Xyz summon a monster that's one rank higher." Raidraptor Strangler Falcon then rose up as it let a cry and then transformed into an orb of light as it levitated for a bit as a portal opened up. Soon it entered the portal as a pillar of light emerged. "Fiercest falcon, set your wings ablaze and lock your gaze on our ill-fated foe! Now, make it so! Go, Rank-Up Xyz Evolution! Emerge, Raidraptor - Revolution Falcon(2000/3000, OLU: 1)!" Soon a new bird of prey appeared on Shadow's field as it was bigger and let out another screech.
"That's not good, I'll then play Spellbook of Secrets so that I can add a 'Spellbook' to my hand." Once more Twilight used her duel disk as she selected the card she wanted as it slid out for her to grab. "I'll then lay a facedown and end my turn."
Turn 12: Shadow
"My turn, now I play the spell card, Raidraptor - Iron Heart and equip it onto my Revolution Falcon to give it 500 extra attack points. Then I'll activate the effect of my Revolution Falcon, since I used a Rank 5 or lower 'Raidraptor' Xyz monster to summon it, I can target one of your special summoned monsters and destroy it. Then you take damage equal to half of the monster's attack points. So say goodbye to your World of Prophecy!" shouted Shadow.
"Not gonna happen, cause I'll reveal the card I previously set, Spellbook of Immortality! Now I target one spellcaster on my field and for the rest of the turn, it can't be destroyed in battle or targeted by card effects." said Twilight as her monster chanted as some divine energy surrounded it as Shadow's effect was nullified.
"Sneaky." commented Shadow.
"I'll learned a thing or two from someone." stated Twilight as she did a quick glance at Isaac as he still had the same expression from earlier as both just stared at each other with a stern look.
"Well, then I'll just summon my Raidraptor - Rudder Strix(0/1600) in defense mode. Now since it was summoned, I can now deal you 600 points of damage." said Shadow as his small bird then flew over to Twilight as it used its beak to peak at Twilight who simply put her duel disk to block its pecks.
Twilight's Life Points: 5700-
"Then I'll overlay my Retrofit Lanius, remember it when using it to Xyz summon it counts as two monsters." Retrofit Lanius then transformed into two orbs of light as it levitated in the air for a bit as a portal opened up in the ground in front of Shadow. Soon they were sucked into the portal as a pillar of light emerged. "Avian hunter of the afterlife, seek the truth with your dark eyes, and grasp glory with your sharp talons! I Xyz Summon! Take flight! Raidraptor - Force Strix(100/2000, OLU: 2)!" Shadow now had another raptor as it let out a small cry as it had its units circling around it. "Now my Force Strix gains 500 attack and defense points for each Winged-Beast type monster on my field so since I have 2 on my field, it now gains 1000 extra attack and defense points." stated Shadow. "Then I'll activate my Force Strix's ability, so by using one overlay unit, I can add a one Level 4 Dark Winged Beast-type monster from my deck to my hand." Shadow then used his duel disk as she selected the card he wanted as it slid out for him to grab.
"I'll then end my turn."
Turn 13: Twilight
"My draw, and now I'll summon my Magician's Valkyria to the field. And while she's in play, you can't target any of my other spellcaster without going through her first. But I'm not done, cause now I play Spellbook of Power and give my World of Prophecy an extra 1000 attack points." stated Twilight as her World of Prophecy got even stronger. "Then I'll play once again Spellbook Library of the Heliosphere, so like before I reveal the top 2 cards of my deck and then if any of them are 'Spellbook' cards, then I get to add them to my hand." Twilight's duel disk then projected her cards for all to see. "Seems once again they're both 'Spellbooks', so they get added to my hand. But I'll use one of them right now, Spellbook of Penetration! So thanks to this now my monsters can deal damage even if your monster is in defense mode. So World of Prophecy attack his Raidraptor - Rudder Strix!" shouted Twilight.
Shadow's Life Points: 5350-
"That's fine cause, when you target my Rudder Strix it allows me to summon up to 2 'Raidraptor' monsters in my hand, so I'll summon another Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius." said Shadow as he quickly summoned his monster as just as his Rudder Strix was destroyed.
"Man they just keep coming." said Twilight to herself as she witnessed how easily these Raidraptors were able to summon themselves. "Now the other effect of my Spellbook of Power activates, since it destroyed a monster, I can now add another 'Spellbook' to my hand from my deck." stated Twilight as her duel disk slid it out for her to grab.
"I'll then set one card facedown."
Turn 14: Shadow
"My turn, and now time to attack, I activate my Revolution Falcon's special ability. By using one overlay unit, I can drop all the attack points of your special summoned monster to 0 and then my monster can attack all of your monsters!" shouted Shadow.
"It can attack all of them?" said Twilight.
"Go Blitz Bombardment!!!" shouted Shadow. Revolution Falcon then soared high into the air as it was now overhead Twilight and her monsters. It then unhatched its compartments as tons of little bombs began to rain from above as Twilight had to look away as the sounds of explosions went off around her as it took out her entire field and her monsters as she took some damage.
Twilight's Life Points: 3200-
"Now Force Strix attack her directly!" shouted Shadow as his remaining monster then took flight and delivered some more damage to Twilight as was pushed back as her feet dragged along the grass and dirt.
Twilight's Life Points: 2100-
"With that, I then play my Raidraptor - Symbol. So since a 'Raidraptor' monster I controlled battled this turn, I can now add a 'Raidraptor' from my deck to my hand." said Shadow as he selected the monster he wanted as he added it to his hand. "I'll then end my turn."
Turn 15: Twilight
"My turn." said Twilight as she picked herself up and dusted her knees of the dirt as she placed her hand on her deck.
There's no way she can win, she's got no monsters on her field. And even if she draws something, it won't be strong enough since I still have my Raptor's Intercept Formation, if she attacks any of my Xyz monsters, then I'll just switch its stats. But then again... she is Isaac's girlfriend. And knowing him, he wouldn't be with her if she didn't do something that caught his attention. So, what's this girl got?
"You may think that I'm out of this duel, but I'm not. Cause I got a plan, and it starts now! Draw!" said Twilight as she drew her card as it was covered in a purple light with some particle effects as it left a trail. "Now time to activate the effect of my spell card."
"What spell card?" asked Shadow.
"Remember what I played 3 turns ago." said Twilight. It took a moment for Shadow to understand, but soon he realized what she was talking about. "I played my Spellbook of Divinity which allowed me to banish a card for 3 turns, well 3 turns have passed and now I can play the card." Twilight's duel disk then ejected her card as she grabbed it and held it up high. "And since it was a monster, I can now special summon it. Arise, Dark Red Enchanter(1700/2200)!!" shouted Twilight as out came a magician as it wore a red outfit and wielded a staff as it pointed it at Shadow.
"Not much of a monster." said Shadow as he looked at the stats of Twilight's monster.
"This was my first ever card that I got, in fact, before I assembled my Spellbook deck and I acquired my High Priestess of Prophecy, this was my star monster I relied on." said Twilight as she looked at the monster that laid before her as the two of them gazed at one another. It had been a long, long time since the two last met, but even if that much time having pasted they both had fond memories of their early days.
"Interesting." said Isaac as he was shocked that he didn't know that about Twilight.
"Now then my Dark Red Enchanter has won me multiple duels when I was little, and it's time to win another. Cause for each spell counter that it has, it gains 300 extra attack points."
"So, what?" asked Shadow.
"Remember my other spell." said Twilight as she pointed at her Spellbook of the Deity. "This whole time, my Spellbook of the Deity has been collecting spell counter each time a card has been played. And the number of counter that have been collected is... 13! And now I destroy my Spellbook of the Deity, then any counters on it, I can place on a monster. So all thirteen counters go to my Dark Red Enchanter!" informed Twilight as her magician now infused itself with the power of the spell counters.
"Wait, if it has 13 spell counters and it gains 300 for each counter, then..." said Shadow.
"Then we're talking 3900 extra attack points." finished Twilight as her monster now rose to have an attack power of 5600. "And now, I'll reveal my Spellbook of Wisdom, Spellbook of Knowledge, and Spellbook of Eternity." Twilight's three cards then projected in front of her as everybody saw them. "By doing so, I can now summon my most loyal monster. Show everybody your beauty and grace, High Priestess of Prophecy(2500/2100)!!!" Twilight then held her card up high as she played it on her card tray; out came a beauty women as she had pink hair and wore an even more beautiful outfit as it was covered in robes and she had a book being held in her magic.
"So, Mistress Sparkle has summoned Lady Priestess." said Mahad as he made his presence known as she appeared next to Isaac.
"It would seem so, Mahad." said Isaac.
"This will be fun to watch." said Mana as she too appeared next to their master and watched on. "Hmm."
"What is it, Mana?" asked Isaac.
"Oh, nothing." said Mana. However what really caught her attention was the fact that Isaac was sitting in a throne-like chair and both her and Mahad were standing next to him. It reminded her of a past memory from when she was still human as she couldn't help but smile.
"Now I activate my High Priestess of Prophecy's special ability, so by banishing my Spellbook of Knowledge. My High Priestess can destroy one card on the field. And I choose your Raptor Intercept Formation!" stated Twilight as she pointed at Shadow's card. High Priestess of Prophecy heard her master's command as he opened up her book and then used her hand as she did a few motions and then got rid of its target.
"With that gone, you can't change your monster's stats. So Dark Red Enchanter attack Raidraptor Revolution Falcon!" commanded Twilight. Dark Red Enchanter then heard its orders as it lifted its staff and pointed it at the giant bird as he blasted it right through the middle as it let out a screech and soon an explosion went off as it blew up into pieces.
Shadow's Life Points: 2250-
"And now High Priestess of Prophecy attack his Raidraptor - Force Strix!!" shouted Twilight as her most trustworthy monster obliged and looked to claim the victory for her and her mistress.
Shadow's Life Points: 350-
"So I'll end my turn with a facedown." stated Twilight as the card she set was her Spellbook of Wisdom which she believed would offer some protection for her monsters.
Soon the ground in front of her opened up as a portal appeared, then out from the portal came a monster. In fact the monster that emerged was none other than Raidraptor - Rise Falcon as it let out a fierce screech as it had an overlay unit circling it. This shocked Twilight as she didn't expect to see a monster that she had already defeated.
"What? But how? How is your Rise Falcon back?" asked Twilight.
"See the moment you destroyed, my Revolution Falcon, you triggered my real trap. Remember I equipped it with Iron Heart which not only raised its attack points by 500, but when the monster its equipped with is destroyed, I can then select 2 'Xyz' monsters in my graveyard and revive one of them, while the other becomes an overlay unit. So I choose to bring back my Rise Falcon and then had Revolution Falcon become an Xyz material." informed Shadow.
"But if Rise Falcon has an overlay unit... then..." Twilight's eyes widen at the realization.
Turn 16: Shadow
"Now I activate Rise Falcon's special ability, by using one overlay unit, my Rise Falcon gains the attack points of all of your monsters and then it can attack them all!" shouted Shadow as his Rise Falcon absorbed its Xyz material as its attack points shot all the way up to 8200. "Now finish this duel, Ravaging Rebellion!!!" Rise Falcon then soared high into the sky as it engulfed itself in flames and then came soaring down with great speed and power as it collided with Twilight's monsters as they were destroyed and Twilight dropped to her knees.

Winner: Shadow Moonrise
"Flawless... victory." said Shadow as he fell down on his back as he let out a breathe of exhaustion. He was so worn out that he could say his victory catchphrase properly. I just barely made it out alive, I got lucky. No doubt, Ms. Twilight is a tough an difficult duelist. I'm lucky to have won. Now I see why she's Isaac's girlfriend.
"Ladies and gentleman, the winner of the four and final duel is... Shadow Moonrise!" shouted Luna as she and everybody else around them applauded him on securing the win.
"So close." said Twilight as she looked at her deck and at Isaac.
Consider yourself lucky, Shadow. You may have won the battle, but Twilight won the war and the mental aspect that comes with a duel. Take that to heart, kid. You barely survived, you barely survived. Isaac then noticed Twilight looking at him as he still had a stern look on his face. She didn't win... thank... you. Isaac now let out a breathe that he didn't know he was holding in as his face soften as he now had a smile.
"And with that, we now have the four participants who will be competing against each other in a quest to become the #1 contender to Isaac's championship match at the Fall Formal." Celestia then pointed at the screen behind Isaac as the portraits of the finalists were now shown and everybody got to see who could potentially be the winner. "The four remaining duelists are Penny, Fluttershy, Lucky Star, and lastly joining them is Shadow Moonrise. These four will compete tomorrow in both the semi-final rounds and then immediately following the second matchup, the final duel will begin and then the winner will earn the right to challenge against reigning, defending, undisputed Canterlot High's Duel Monsters champion, Isaac!!" Celestia's response was met with some cheers and even more applauses. The four duelists who qualified all looked at the board as they knew that they were just that much closer to potentially winning and beating Isaac.
"Thank you all, and we'll see you tomorrow for the conclusion of this epic tournament that has produced some interesting and stellar outcomes." said Luna as he turned to the main camera and gave the signal to end the broadcast as the screens on the TVs went black.
"Meow." said Tigre.
"Grr." sounded Spike.
"Meow." stated Tigre even more loudly.
"Grr." Spike was now fuming as his he felt his inner animal starting to come out.
"Meow." replied Tigre.
"I don't want to hear it!" shouted Spike as he grabbed a pillow and put it over his head as he didn't want to hear any more from his frenemy.
"Meow." said Tigre as she continued to taunt the mutt.
"Shut it!" pouted Spike as he couldn't believe that his pick to win the tournament was eliminated while her's was still in. "Your pick still needs to win. Remember pussy cat, we said all or nothing. Which means I still have a chance for you not to win this bet. I still have a chance!!" informed the dog.
"Meow, meow." stated Tigre as she wasn't too worried about that. She then continued to make fun of her friend as all the other pets began to laugh with their feline companion as they too joined in on the fun of Spike having his pick be knocked out of the tournament.
"I thought I had a safe bet in picking Twilight. Where did I go wrong?" shouted Spike to the heavens as he couldn't believe his luck.
The whole school was now starting to leave as the students had already left. Twilight was looking at her deck as she replayed the duel in her mind; she then noticed a shadow looming over her as she slowly lifted her head up and saw Isaac standing there. He was standing with his hands in his pockets as he looked at Twilight. Just like before, nothing was said, their eyes and the look on their faces told the whole story.
"Hey." said Isaac with a straight tone.
"Hey." responded Twilight in the same volume.
They both kept quiet for a few seconds as they looked at each other. Waiting to see what the other would do or say; once again their eyes told the whole story. Soon the silence was broken.
"Ready to go home?" asked Isaac.
"Yeah." said Twilight.
She began to walk towards her boyfriend and stopped in front of him as she looked at him. She then brought her hand up to his cheek as she then leaned in to capture his lips. Isaac then put his right hand up to Twilight's cheek as he too leaned into the kiss as it lasted for a few seconds. Then the broke apart as soon they had a small smile on both of their faces; with that they caught up with the others as they all started their trek back to the house.
"So, you nervous Fluttershy?" asked Sunset.
"A little." replied the girl as out of the whole group, she was the only one who qualified.
"Don't be, if you just keep dueling like you did in your past duels, then you'll cruise right into the finals and then have your chance to face Isaac at the Fall Formal." stated Rainbow Dash as she was showing support for her best friend.
"I appreciate your support, Dash. Thanks." said the shy girl as they reached the house and Isaac opened the front door for them to enter.
"Okay, who the hell let the pets in here!?!!!" shouted Isaac to which the girls all giggled at their male companion.
Upstairs in Twilight's room, her computer was closed. Though even though it was shut off, the program that Twilight was working on in the morning was still running as it was doing the command that Twilight asked of it. It had just finished it as it began to next phase of the plan.
"Rescanning complete. Reconfiguring. Status, analyzing. Restoration at 12%." said the A.I.

The duel was pretty ok.
From what I remember, there's only Retrolus Lanius and Stranger Falcon on Shadow's field when Sanctuary was activated, meaning he's one Raidraptor short in activating the spell card there.
Its effect would have activated before it got destroyed, not afterwards though.
The search effect via Spellbook of Power would have applied the moment a monster is destroyed by the affected monster, not waiting till the end of the turn like that. So pretty much she has to do the search effect first immediately after she destroyed one of Shadow's monsters before going into Main Phase 2 to set her card and end her turn there.
So Spellbook of Divinity can special summon the card if it was a monster?
I feel like you need to clarify if that is the case or not. Since if she was actually normal summoning it, she needs to tribute one monster for it since its Level 6.
