Chapter 176: Smile

The music festival had reached the last of its day as everybody all gave a big applause to the many performers that came out to entertain the people. With that the whole gang was now boarding the RV as they all prepared for the long drive back home. They all boarded the vehicle as Sunset volunteered to be the one to drive everyone home. With that they all prepared and got on the road as they were now heading back to Canterlot.

During the ride home, Isaac got a call from the person he had talked with before he left for the festival. He knew he couldn’t answer it given that the girls were here and that Sunset would listen given she was driving, so he simply ignored the call and texted the person that he would contact them when he had a chance. It was nighttime when they all arrived back, Isaac made an effort to send another message to his contact as he told them that they would meet tomorrow.

The sun came as it rose high into the sky. Everyone was asleep in the house as Isaac quietly got out of bed, and out of the house as he made his way to the park. There were only a few adults there as they were going on a run. Eventually, Isaac found his target as they were sitting by the pond as he approached them.

“You’re here.”

“Of course,” said Isaac.

“Now then, let’s go over the details,” said the mysterious person.

“Right, but now here. Let’s go somewhere else.” Isaac then began to lead both of them to a coffee shop that wasn’t the Sweet Shoppe as they entered the establishment and got a booth as they began to talk business.

Shadow was now walking towards the park as he had received an email from his tutor. Even though he never told Pinkie his email, it seemed she got it anyhow. Turns out she wanted to meet with her student to do some extra lessons. That being said, Shadow was anything less than pleased. The boy soon entered the place as he saw the pink girl just bouncing in place while looking at balloons.

“Yay, you’re here.” said Pinkie as she wrapped her arms around her student and rubbed his hair.

“Get your hands off of me and my hair!” stated the boy as he got out of Pinkie’s embrace.

“Aw, don’t do that.” said Pinkie with a smile.

“I hate you as my tutor.” said Shadow under his breath.

“What was that?”

“Nothing.” gritted the boy with his teeth.

“Now come on, let’s get to having fun.” said the party girl as she grabbed her student to begin the festivities.

“Why me?” groaned Shadow as he was dragged along with Pinkie’s antics.

One thing that happened was that Pinkie had set up some harmless pranks for people who would enter the park. Safe to say that was one thing that Shadow didn’t expect from his tutor as she didn’t partake his mentor to be one who was for devious tricks. So for the first few hours of the day, Shadow did have a laugh seeing others fall for Pinkie’s harmless pranks. After that Pinkie then had her student compete in a cannon target competition. Both approached their respective cannons as they pulled the string and fired a massive amount of confetti as they did several launches. Despite him not finding this as entertaining, he did see how his tutor was acting his age as Pinkie made a confetti angel as the boy just rolled his eyes. Overall, it seemed that Shadow was at least giving the girl a try. After running out of pranks, Pinkie then gave Shadow a present as it surprised the kid.

“Here you go,” said Pinkie.

“What the hell is this?” asked the boy as he looked at the small gift.

“Open it, silly.”

Shadow just rolled his eyes as he took the ribbon off of the present and then took the wrapping paper off as he looked at the gift inside. He pulled it out as it unfolded naturally as it was a shirt.

“Pinkie and Shadow, best student-teacher pair.” said Pinkie as she read the t-shirt as on it was a picture of the girl and the boy but it was an image of Pinkie being her usual, energetic self as Shadow was behind her as he had his arms crossed and looked irritated with the puffy haired girl.

“Well, do you love it?” asked Pinkie.

“Great.” stated Shadow bluntly as he looked at the shirt.

“See, already B.F.F’s.” said Pinkie as she pulled the boy in for a hug. “I love having a student like you.”

“If only I felt the same way.” muttered Shadow.

“What was that?”

“Nothing.” stated the boy as she tried to break free from the girl’s hug as he felt her strength.

“Come on, don’t be like that. Show some love.” stated the girl as she began to rub the boy’s head.

“Leave me alone!” shouted Shadow as he waved off Pinkie’s hand and then began to run.

“Ohh, we playing tag. No, hide and seek! I’ll count to ten.” shouted Pinkie as she thought Shadow was trying to have fun.

“God no!” shouted Shadow as he kept on running trying to get away from his tutor.

Shadow now noticed some bushes as he hid in between them as he peaked his eyes out to see if Pinkie was around. Once he did a full check, he then let out a sigh.

“What are we waiting for?” asked Pinkie who was also in the same bush as her eyes popped up.

“Get away from me.” shouted the boy.

“I found you.” said Pinkie as she popped out of the bush as Shadow ran out of the hiding place. “Uhm, okay… I’ll find you again.” said the girl as she thought that Shadow didn’t know how to play.

Shadow now leapt over the small pond as he kept on trying to get away from his tutor. He thought he was safe as he hid behind a tree only for him to turn to his left as Pinkie was there smiling and waving. Pinkie was about to speak when Shadow let out a scream and kept on running. He then hid behind the slides when Pinkie was then sliding down in front of him and he kept on trying to escape the girl. He then jumped over a painter who was setting up his canvas.

“I'm having fun with my student! Whoa!” said Pinkie as she didn’t pay attention to the paint cans as she stepped in one and it caused her to lose her balance as she fell over and face planted on to a tub of paint.

The chase went on as Shadow kept trying to outrun from Pinkie as he then ran through a small water fountain; Pinkie was right behind the boy but when she got in the center, all the water started to gush up as it splashed her in the face and then lifted her up in the air as she was soaked. Once more Shadow started to climb another tree as he believed that having high ground was good when dealing with a wild animal… I mean Pinkie. The boy then saw Pinkie trying to climb up the tree, but her appearance was all messy as she had twigs and sticks coming out of her hair, her clothes were wet and covered in paint. Shadow then jumped from one branch to another and then landed on the floor just as Pinkie made it to the top. The branch above where Shadow once was had a beehive and when the boy shook it, he accidentally caused the nest to drop and crack as the bees came out pissed. They looked up as they saw Pinkie and immediately thought her as the one who destroyed their home and then targeted their stingers at her as the girl let out a scream and fell down hard.

Shadow had now arrived back to where he started as he was now tired. He took one last look checking his surroundings, just when he felt like he could let out a sigh, he then heard some heavy breathing behind him as he saw Pinkie. She was like before all a mess but now her face was covered in stings from the bees as one of them was stuck in her cheek.

“There… you… are…” said Pinkie as she tried to talk given that her face was full of stings as she pulled the bee out of her face as it buzzed away.

“I give up!” shouted Shadow.

“I found you… I win.”

“Enough!” said Shadow, “Just get the hell away from me!”

“What?!” said Pinkie.

“Ever since this program started and I was assigned as your student, all I wanted to do was get the hell away from you. You annoy my ass with your stupid tactics.” exclaimed Shadow as he was letting all of his feelings about his tutor out. “You’re loud, crazy, irritating, bothersome, you don't anything seriously, and straight up annoying!!!”

“Annoying?” said Pinkie as now her entire face and appearance returned to normal as her hair deflated a bit. For Pinkie the inside of her heart had stopped beating as it literally broke in half.

“I would like nothing better than for you to leave me alone and never bother me again.” stated Shadow as he stood up. “To think that I held out this long, I should have done this from the moment we met! So leave me alone!!”

“Alone.” stated Pinkie softly as she put her head down.

“Maybe then I might get some peace and quiet; something I’ve been missing since I became your student.” stated Shadow.

“I understand.” Pinkie then let out a tear as she started to walk away. “You’re no longer my student.”

“Finally!” said Shadow as he let out a sigh as a huge weight was off of his shoulders. He didn’t notice that Pinkie had left as he was too busy enjoying the serenity he now had not having the party girl constantly annoy him.

“And that’s all I have so far.” said the person who was talking with Isaac.

“To be honest, I didn’t expect you to do all of this in such a short amount of time.” replied Isaac as he took a sip of his beverage.

“Well, I wanted to make sure that everything was set for my client.”

“Woah, there. That’s a bit much.” stated the boy. “But I am grateful for all you’ve done that I’ve requested.” Isaac then looked at his phone as he saw some pictures of his journey at CHS as all he could do was look at them. He didn’t know it but his eyes were watering up as some tears fell down his cheek.

“Hey, you okay?” asked the person Isaac was with.

“Y-yeah.” said the boy as he noticed a tear drop onto the screen of his phone as he wiped the tears away. “Just… had… a moment there…” Isaac was now breathing heavily as the photos were eating away at the young boy. After 3 minutes, Isaac finally got his tears under control as he wiped them clean.

“Sorry, just my time is literally winding down,” said Isaac.

“Yes, and then… it happens.” said the person.

“Anyways, thank you for the details. Same time tomorrow.” suggested Isaac.

“Of course.” said the person as they gave Isaac a handshake as both went on their way.

Isaac had now reached the house as he entered and saw Rarity and Aj talking with each other. The girls saw their friend as they quietly went silent.

“What?” asked Isaac as the girls looked at him.

“Sugar, you might want to hear this.” said Aj as they got their male friend to sit down as they told them about seeing Pinkie come home as her hair was all down.

That alone got Isaac worried as he knew what that meant, but even more so that Pinkie then emerged from her room after a few hours as her hair was back in its puffy colors, but she seemed gray.

“Any reason why she is like that? I get her hair being down, but the fact that it’s back to normal but she’s greyed out. I don’t know what it means.” said Isaac.

“We don’t know either, darling.”

“The only thing that she said she was goin' to do today was that she wanted to have some fun with Shadow.”

“Shadow, huh?” said Isaac. While the girls didn’t see it on his face, on the inside, you best believe that Isaac was full on pissed off.

“Girls, go check up on Pinkie for me. I’ve got some things to address.” said the boy as the girls left to see how their friend was doing. “Remember what I said to you Shadow, which way does a tree fall? It falls the way it leans, well you just leaned the wrong way.”

The next morning came as Shadow woke up. Usually, he would get some weird alarm waking him up by Pinkie but today he managed to get some sleep in as he awoke without any noise.

“Man, how long has it been since I woke up on my own?” said the boy as he let out a yawn and stretched his limbs. He then got dressed as he headed down for some breakfast when he noticed his plate full of food. He was about to take a bite when it felt like he was missing something.

Once again, Pinkie had somehow managed to break into Shadow’s house everyday and would often leave a plate full of muffins for the kid to enjoy with his food. But today there wasn’t any.

“Must be imagining things.” said Shadow as he began to eat his meal in peace.

He was about to take a walk when he noticed the shirt that Pinkie had given him as it was on his bed. He looked at it as he was reminded of the conversation he had with the girl as it served as the final thing that allowed him to get rid of the headache he had been receiving since becoming a part of the program and being Pinkie’s student.

“Good riddance. I can finally move on with my life.” said the boy. He looked at the trashcan as he held the piece of clothing, he just simply tossed the shirt onto his laundry basket as he would deal with it later. With that he headed out the door of his house.

Along the way the sounds of not having to listen to Pinkie’s ramblings served as a sign of peace. For once he could actually hear himself and his own thoughts as he couldn’t remember the last time he could do that since becoming her student. Still it felt like he was missing something, something that he was looking forward to, but what. Eventually, he arrived at the park as he then passed by the same place where he had the talk with Pinkie as surprisingly her party cannon was still there.

“Seems she forgot to get her cannon. Oh, well not my problem.” said the boy as he continued on walking. He then stopped as he took another look at the object as a thought ran through his mind. “I mean, what if she’s looking for it and somebody else comes and takes it. I might not like her, but I wouldn’t want to see her stuff get stolen.” Shadow was now wrestling with himself on whether he should do the right thing and return Pinkie’s belonging to her or just keep on walking. Eventually he made his decision.

“I don't know what compelled me to do this,” said the boy.

He somehow managed to drag Pinkie’s cannon all the way to the house that she and the girls shared with Isaac. He pushed past the front gate as he then climbed the stairs with the heavy object as he let out some breaths as he rested over it for a few moments. Shadow then caught his breath as he rang the doorbell hoping that whoever was home would give it to Pinkie and he would be on his way. Though he prayed that it wasn’t Pinkie herself; the door opened and the person who was standing there wasn’t Pinkie, but then again, Shadow might not have wanted this person to answer the door as well.

“Shadow.”

“Sup, Isaac.” waved the boy as his head professor just crossed his arms and gave him a stern look. “Anyways, Pinkie left her party cannon in the park and I’m just simply returning it.”

“That’s thoughtful of you. But I thought you weren’t her student anymore, and that you’re done with her.” said Isaac in a stern and low tone.

“Trust me, that was the best decision of my life. And as for this, I just don’t want anybody else to steal it. I know how much she loves this thing.” said Shadow.

“Oh, so you know how much she loves this?”

“Duh, I might have been getting a headache from her, but I at least recognize when someone loves a certain object.”

“Funny, if only you opened your mind to see something else.” said Isaac as he didn’t bother hiding the shade he was throwing at the boy.

“What’s that mean?” asked Shadow.

“You made Pinkie sad.” said Isaac as he kicked the party cannon inside of the house and slammed the front door shut as he and Shadow were on the front steps as he stared down the boy.

“So? I had enough of her.” responded Shadow as he tried to stand his ground. “I told you that she drives me insane. I never wanted her as my mentor!”

“Funny, cause Pinkie wanted you as her student. She was so insistent on having you as her apprentice when I ran down your file, that I decided to grant her request.” said Isaac as he let out some personal information. “You remember what I said to you about a tree falling?”

“It leans.”

“Correction, it leans in the direction it falls towards. You just leaned the wrong way; you disrespected Pinkie. And when you disrespect her, you disrespect me. So you’ve legit pissed me off!” shouted Isaac.

“I have no regrets with my choice,” said Shadow.

“Then maybe I regret choosing you to be a part of this program. Maybe I should have chosen someone whose parents are actually related to him.” said Isaac as he was willing to go the extra mile. “You want to shoot from the hip, Shadow? I ain’t got no problem with that.”

“Leave my parents out of this. Let’s not get personal.” said Shadow.

“Yeah, cause I would bury your spoiled rich ass before you can finish saying the alphabet.” said Isaac as he started to step forward as Shadow was slowly backing up. “You’ve made the wrong decision in pissing me off, Shadow. You know my mom used to whoop me whenever I did something I wasn’t supposed to do, she called it learning experience so that I wouldn’t do the same stupid shit again. Looks like I’m gonna need to be the person to give you an ass whooping, something that should have happened to you a long time ago so that you can learn some manners!” shouted Isaac. Shadow’s back now reached the gate as he now had nowhere to go as Isaac was staring him down with a furious look.

“A duel!” said Isaac.

“What?!” said Shadow.

“In the park, tonight! And if you don’t show up, then expect a little house visit. Cause I ain’t playing around, Montaña de mojones!” said Isaac as he spoke those last words in spanish. He then entered the house as it left Shadow to process what was just said.

Nighttime was soon upon the town of Canterlot. It was about 7 at night as there were still some people enjoying the place. Shadow had arrived as he was feeling a bit nervous about facing Isaac. He remembered what happened the last time when he and the other students tried to gang up on their professor as he took them out and destroyed them with ease. And that was when he wasn’t angry, now he was sort of praying that he would live after the duel was over. Soon he arrived back at the spot as he took a moment as he was beginning to remember some of the time he had with Pinkie in this place.

“And now add the yellow to the pink.” said Pinkie as she was instructing her student to follow his orders.

“Why am I doing this?!” asked Shadow as he was trying to paint the picture but he was hanging upside.

“Silly, you need to get a better angle. If you focus all your attention on being upright, you won’t see the other way to paint a picture.” stated the girl.

“Right now, I feel like I’m about to throw up. Oh, no.” said Shadow as his stomach agreed with that statement.

“Clean up!” shouted Pinkie as she changed into a sanitation outfit and got her student down.

“Heh.” said Shadow as he remembered that.

“Don’t forget to eat these cookies.” said Pinkie as she had a picnic blanket and basket with her as she had tons of sweets on the blanket as she was getting Shadow to eat them as he was full.

“Why? I’ve already eaten all these sweets, they’re good I’ll admit, but I’m stuffed.” cried Shadow.

“But you can’t increase your palette if you don’t have options. You can’t stick with the same thing or else you won’t grow. Which is why you need to eat!” said the girl as she shoved some cookies down Shadow’s mouth.

“Still liked the chocolate fudge cookies.” said Shadow as he did enjoy eating the treats Pinkie gave him.

(Memory)

“And this is my sister Marble Pie.” said Pinkie as she showed off the pictures if her siblings to her student. “Oh, I love them.”

“Again, all I asked was can you show me some tactics?” asked Shadow as a simple question turned into a 45 minute ramble nonstop of Pinkie telling her mentee about her life and her family as she loved them deeply.

“But then you wouldn’t have heard about my stories? And how I made my whole family smile.”

“So what, they’re your family. I'm sure they smile all the time.” stated the boy.

“Exactly, which is why it warms my heart to see them smile,” said Pinkie. “Which is why I love having you as my student, cause you make me smile.”

“If only I felt the same way about you.” muttered Shadow under his breath. Pinkie then gave her student a hug as the boy struggled to escape her tight grip.

“I’m glad to have someone like you.”

“Get off of me!!!” shouted Shadow.

“Smile, huh?” said Shadow as he was thinking about all the times he had spent with Pinkie.

“You’re here,” said Isaac.

“I don’t want any trouble,” said Shadow.

“You should have thought about that when you made Pinkie upset.” stated Isaac. “Now get your duel disk out!"

Shadow saw there was no way to reason with his head professor as he just put on his duel disk, he then looked at Isaac as he didn’t put on his.

“Where’s yours?”

“I said you’d be dueling, but not against me.” Isaac then stepped back as he revealed Pinkie who was standing behind the boy as she still had a blank look on her face.

“Pinkie?”

“Got a problem?” asked Isaac.

“This might be the only way to get my point across, is if I beat her and then show that I don’t want her as my teacher.” said Shadow as he slotted in his deck and projected a dark blue tray.

“Remember what I said, sis.” said Isaac.

“Of course, anything for you big bro, cause I love you.” said Pinkie as she had a smile on her face as she gave Isaac a sibling hug as it was genuine.

“Don’t worry, I’ll take you out for ice cream after.” reminded the boy of his promise as Pinkie stepped forward and slotted on her duel disk as it projected a pink card tray.

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said their duel disks.

Shadow's Life Points: 8000-

Pinkie Pie's Life Points: 8000-

"Let's see which deck, Pinkie is using." said Shadow to himself.

Turn 1: Pinkie

"I'll start by playing one card facedown and then summon Madolche Baaple(0/1800) in defense mode." Pinkie now had a tiny monster appear on her field as it was sheep who had wool and was on a maple syrup covered piece.

"I now end my turn."

Turn 2: Shadow

"My draw, and to start I'll summon Raider's Wing(0/2000) in defense mode." said Shadow as he summoned a new monster to the field. Out emerged a new mechanical bird as it was black and let out a screech as it landed on his field.

"Then I'll lay one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 3: Pinkie

"My draw, and now I'll sacrifice my Madolche Baaple to summon my Madolche Puddingcess(1000/1000)." Pinkie now had gotten rid of her monster as out emerged a tiny pretty women as she had blonde hair and wore a dress made up of pudding. "Then I'll activate my field spell, Madolche Chateau." Pinkie then played her field spell as now a huge chateau rose up behind her. Pinkie's monsters of her deck appeared as they looked at Shadow. The tiny monsters all approached the boy as they gave him glares, they then slapped him with their tiny hands and blew him some raspberries.

"Ow." said Shadow as he was hit by the small delicious monsters.

"Now when my field spell activates, my Madolche Baaple that I got rid of is now shuffled back into my deck." Pinkie's duel disk then ejected her card as she placed it on top as the autoshuffler kicked in. "Now my field spell grants my monsters 500 attack and defense points, and my Puddingcess' ability allows her to gain 800 extra attack and defense mode when there's no monsters in my graveyard so now she has 2300 total attack points." said Pinkie.

"Now my Puddingcess, destroy Shadow and his monster!" shouted Pinkie.

"Destroy?!" said the boy as he didn't expect to hear his mentor, former mentor, say that.

"Now I reveal my facedown, Madolche Waltz! Now each time my monster attacks or is attacked, you take 300 points of damage!" said the party girl as her monster took out Shadow's bird as the boy got hit with some damage.
Shadow's Life Points: 7700-

"Since I took damage, I can now summon my Raidraptor - Avenge Vulture(1700/100) from my hand." said Shadow as he quickly replace one of his birds with another.

"Always did like those birds. Tell me, are you now taking me seriously?"

"What?" said Shadow.

"This is wanted you wanted, no smile. None of my crazy antics to drive you crazy, just straight up dueling without being a pain." stated Pinkie.

"Well, I mean... sure you were a pain... but..."

"Enough talking, I now end my turn!"

Turn 4: Shadow

"I don't know why you're taking your anger out on me. But I know for sure that I've finally gotten some piece and quiet."

"Then why are you doing same moves?" asked Pinkie. "Whenever you have Avenge Vulture in your hand, you don't play any spells or trap, cause you want to take damage to summon your monster, that way by the time your next turn comes, you can summon the Fuzzy Lanius that's also in your hand." stated Pinkie a true to her word, Shadow did have his Fuzzy Lanius in his hand.

"How do you..."

"You think that I didn't pay attention with all my goofy off." stated Pinkie.

"Nevermind, it's my draw!" said Shadow as he drew his card and then looked at his hand. He was considering playing his Fuzzy Lanius but hesitated for a moment as he was reminded of what Pinkie just said. Why am I thinking of what she just said, I'm not her student anymore. So I don't have to listen to what she says, she may have said something like that when she was judging me and getting me to try new moves, but I'm no longer her mentee. I'm my own person. "I'll do what you just said, but not because you told me to. So instead of summon my Fuzzy Lanius, I'll special summon this, my Raidraptor - Heel Eagle(700/700)! Then I play the spell card, Raidraptor - Iron Call; so now I can summon another monster that's the same as one on my field from my hand or deck, so rise up another Heel Eagle!" stated Shadow as his deck then ejected another copy of his Heel Eagle as he then summon it to his field in defense mode.

"I now overlay my 2 Raidraptor - Heel Eagles!" shouted the boy with fury in his voice as he looked at Pinkie who too had the same angry look on her face. Both of his monsters then into orbs of light as they hovered in the air for a bit as a portal opened up in front of the boy. Soon both lights disappeared into the portal as a pillar of light emerged. "I Xyz Summon, Raidraptor - Force Strix(100/2000, OLU: 2)!" Shadow's new monster emerged as it let out a cry as it landed with its materials circling around it.

"I now activate my Force Strix's special ability, by using one overlay unit, I can now add one Level 4 Winged-Beast to my hand." said Shadow as he added one of his birds to his hand. "Now I'll special summon my Fuzzy Lanius(500/1500) to the field in defense mode. And now since I have another bird out on my field, my Force Strix gains 500 more attack and defense points for every other of its comrades that are on the field. So with two, that means my Force Strix now has 1100 attack and 3000 defense points." informed Shadow.

"I now place one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 5: Pinkie

"My turn, and I summon my Madolche Chouxvalier(1700/1300)!" said Pinkie as out came a small rider on his horse as he wielded a peppermint lance. "And like stated before, my field spell gives my monsters 500 extra points to both of their stats. Now time to dish out more pain, Madolche Chouxvalier attack his Avenge Vulture!" said the party girl as her monster heard its command and then charged forward as it took out Shadow's bird.
Shadow's Life Points: 7200-

"And don't forget, Shadow!" shouted Pinkie as she was still showing anger. "My trap Madolche Waltz deals an extra 300 points of damage."
Shadow's Life Points: 6900-

"And now Madolche Puddingcess take out his Fuzzy Lanius!" said the girl as her other monster then took Shadow's other bird as he lost even more points.
Shadow's Life Points: 6600-

"Pick up the pace, Shadow! Or you're really gonna fail the test!" shouted the girl.

"I quit being your student!" shouted the boy back as the two were looking at each other with fury.

"I end my turn. And don't forget without those puny birds, your Force Strix loses its extra points!"

"Watch your mouth when you talk about my Raidraptors, cause they also feel my anger whenever I was with you. And since you sent my Fuzzy Lanius to the graveyard, I can add another to my hand from my deck." stated Shadow as his duel disk ejected the card for him to grab.

Turn 6: Shadow

"My draw, and I'll activate the effect of my Force Strix, by using one overlay unit, I can add a Winged Beast-type monster from my deck to my hand." said the boy as he grabbed another one of his birds. "Then since I control an Xyz monster, I can special summon my Singing Lanius(100/1800) from my hand in defense mode. "Then I play the spell card, Raidraptor Sanctuary. So now I can draw two cards since I control 3 'Raidraptors'." Shadow then drew his card as he began to think about what he wanted to do. "I now equip my Force Strix with Raidraptor - Ultimate Mace. So now it gains 1000 extra attack points, bringing its total up to 2100 attack."

"I'll then end my turn."

Turn 7: Pinkie

"My draw, and I'll set this monster in defense mode. Now Chouxvalier take out that Singing Lanius!" shouted Pinkie as her tiny monster once again took out Shadow's monster and some of his life points with her trap card.
Shadow's Life Points: 6300-

"Puddingcess take out that Fuzzy Lanius!" shouted Pinkie as her other monster did the same as she took out another bird and some more points.
Shadow's Life Points: 6000-

"Once more, my Fuzzy Lanius allows me to add my third one to my hand when it's sent to the graveyard." responded the boy as he grabbed another card.

"Both are letting their anger out." said Isaac as he watched the interaction between the pair.

"I end my turn."

Turn 8: Shadow

"My turn, and now I summon my final Fuzzy Lanius from my hand in defense mode. Then I summon my Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius(1700/1000)! And when I summon my Sharp Lanius I can change a faceup attack monster to facedown, so now your Madolche Chouxvalier is switched into defense mode. And don't forget with the extra comrades my Force Strix gains another 1000 attack points for grant total of 2100. So now time to attack, Force Strix attack her monster!" shouted Shadow.

"My trap is still activate, so you pay 300 points!" shouted Pinkie.
Shadow's Life Points: 5700-

"Fine, by me. Take her puny monster out!" shouted Shadow as his monster took out Pinkie's monster.

"Normally my monster can be shuffled back into my deck, but thanks to my field spell, I can add it to my hand instead." stated the pink girl.

"Whatever, I did what I needed to do. Now take your turn so that I can finally move with my life." shouted Shadow.

Turn 9: Pinkie

"You want me to be serious, fine then!" shouted Pinkie as she drew her card. "Now I flip over my facedown monster, Madolche Magileine(1400/1200). And by doing so I activate her effect, so now I can add a 'Madolche' monster from my deck to my hand. And now I resummon my Madolche Chouxvalier and since my field spell is still on the field, it gain 500 more attack and defense points." informed the anger party girl.

"Now to attack, I'll have my Madolche Chouxvalier attack your Force Strix!" said Pinkie as her tiny monster took out Shadow's powerful monster.

"My monster may be destroyed, but since my Force Strix was equipped with Ultimate Mace I take no battle damage from that interaction. And then the second effect allows me to add a 'Rank-Up Magic' spell card from my deck to my hand." said Shadow as he picked the one he wanted.

"Well, guess what my trap is still active." said Pinkie as she burned away some more of the boy's points.
Shadow's Life Points: 5400-

"Now Puddingcess attack his Sharp Lanius!" shouted Pinkie as her other monster took out another one of Shadow's birds.
Shadow's Life Points: 4800-

"And an extra 300 for good measure." stated Pinkie with a smile.
Shadow's Life Points: 4500-

"Thanks." grinned Shadow as Pinkie was surprised by what the boy said. "I reveal my facedown, Xyz Reborn so that I can bring back my Force Strix and attach my trap card as an overlay unit."

"I end my turn."

Turn 10: Shadow

"I just had to get my life points low enough and you did just that. Now it's my turn and time for you to feel my wrath." said Shadow as he drew his card. "I now play the spell card, Rank-Up-Magic Raid Force. Now I can use my Force Strix to Xyz Summon a monster that's one rank higher!" Shadow's monster then changed into an overlay unit as its Xyz material attached to it also floated in the air as a portal opened up in front of the boy. Soon both lights disappeared into the portal as a pillar of light emerged. "I Xyz Summon, Raidraptor - Blade Burner Falcon(1000/1000, OLU: 2)!" Shadow had now summoned a new monster as his mechanical bird emerged as it let out a cry.

"Huh?"

"You expected me to summon my Rise Falcon?" asked Shadow. "Like you said, I need to expand my palette rather than stick with the old stuff."

"So what? You paid attention." stated Pinkie as she folded her arms as she looked away with a pouting face. "If you only you did it when I was trying to help you smile."

"Please, like you could get me to smile with your crazy antics." responded Shadow. "Now since I Xyz Summoned this monster and the difference between our life points is 3000 or more, then my Blade Burner Falcon gains 3000 attack points!"

"What?!" said Pinkie as that detail caught her attention.

"So now it has 4000 attack points. Now Blade Burner Falcon attack her Madolche Chouxvalier!" shouted Shadow.

"My trap still burns you for 300 points of damage." said Pinkie.
Shadow's Life Points: 4200-

"Yeah, but I'm about to deal you a hard right! Do it!!!" shouted Shadow as his bird heard the anger and fury coming from Shadow as he soared high into the air and then unleashed a devasting attack as it took out Pinkie's monster as she took a massive hit to her life points.
Pinkie's Life Points: 6200-

"Now I activate my monster's special ability, whenever it destroys a monster in battle, I can then detach as many overlay units it has so that I can destroy that same number of monsters on your side of the field. So by getting rid of all of its Xyz materials, I can destroy your two other monsters." said Shadow as his bird took out Pinkie's other monsters.

"Well all my monsters don't go to the graveyard, cause I can choose to shuffle them back into my deck." said Pinkie as she grabbed all three of her monsters and then put them on top of her deck as the autoshuffler kicked in.

"With that, I'll lay one card facedown and end my turn."

Turn 11: Pinkie

"My turn, and now since I currently have no monsters in my graveyard, I can special summon my Madolche Petingcessoeur(1400/1400). And by special summoning it, I can also summon another monster from my deck, but it's level is reduced by 1. So I choose to bring out my Madolche Puddingcess." said Pinkie as she now had two monsters on her field. "I now overlay both of my Level 4 Madolche monsters to build the Overlay Network!" Pinkie's two monsters then changed into dark orbs of light as as they hovered in the air for a bit as a portal opened up in front of the girl as a portal opened up. "You want to see some Xyz Summoning, then try this one, I Xyz Summon, Madolche Teacher Glassouffle(1800/2500, OLU: 2)!" Pinkie's monsters was a female teacher who sat on a throne as she had a book next to her.

"So what? Your monster is weaker than mine!" stated Shadow.

"Then how about this move, go Rank Up Xyz Evolution!" shouted Pinkie.

"Xyz Evolution?!" said Shadow as he was surprised by what Pinkie was doing.

Pinkie's monster then transformed into an orb of light as its materials also hovered next to it as another portal opened up as the orbs disappeared once more and a portal opened up as a pillar of light emerged. "Rise up, Madolche Puddingcess Chocolat-a-la-mode(2500/2200, OLU: 3)!!" shouted Pinkie as version of her puddingcess emerged but it was had a dress made of chocolate.

"You ranked up your monster?" said Shadow.

"I guess you could say, that I took inspiration from you and your rank ups." said Pinkie as she looked at her former student.

"I didn't know." said Shadow in a soft tone.

"If you only saw it with your eyes." responded the girl with a similar tone as she and Shadow were now thinking a bit more about each other and their relationship as mentor and apprentice.

"I'm... I'm... " Shadow was struggling to say the words.

"Save it." spoke Pinkie softly. "My field spell gives my monster an extra 500 attack and defense points. Then I'll play the spell card, Madolche Rush Order, so by discarding a Madolche monster from my hand then I can increase another monster on my field by its attack points. So I send my Madolche Messengelato to the graveyard to increase my Puddingcess by 1600 attack points. So time to battle, Madolche Puddingcess Chocolat-a-la-mode attack his Blade Burner Falcon!" shouted Pinkie as her monster delivered a powerful attack as it took out Shadow's powerful monster.
Shadow's Life Points: 3600-

"And don't forget that my trap deals you 300 extra for every attack interaction." said Pinkie.
Shadow's Life Points: 3300-

"My monster isn't going to be gone for long, cause I reveal my facedown, Rank-Up Magic Raptor's Force! Now I can bring back a monster that was destroyed in battle and then I can Xyz Summon a monster that's one rank higher!" shouted Shadow as his Blade Burner Falcon rose up and then turned into an orb of light as it stayed in the air for a bit as a portal opened up in front of the boy as the orb disappeared and a pillar of light emerged. "Terror of the skies! Predator of blazing force! With wings that slash and talons that tear! Go, Rank-Up Xyz Evolution! Rise up, Raidraptor - Blaze Falcon(1000/2000, OLU: 1)!" shouted Shadow as he expressed his fury when he chanted the summon.

"I'll end my turn." (Hand 4)

Turn 12: Shadow

"My turn, and now time for my Blaze Falcon to attack you directly. Go!" shouted the boy as his falcon soared high and then did a slash attack as Pinkie was tossed onto her back.
Pinkie's Life Points: 5200-

"Then since I dealt damage to you, I can destroy one of your monsters, so your little princess is gone." said Shadow as he got rid of Pinkie's monster.

"I then end my turn with a facedown."

Turn 13: Pinkie

"My draw and now I play Monster Reborn so that I can bring back my Madolche Puddingcess Chocolat-a-la-mode." said Pinkie as she had her monster rise up. "And like before my field spell grants its 500 more attack and defense points. And now time to take out that Blaze Falcon!" shouted the party girl.

"I activate my facedown, Rank-Up-Magic Escape Force! So now I can target my Blaze Falcon and then your attack is negated! Then I can use my monster to Xyz Summon a different one that's one rank higher!" Shadow's Blaze Falcon then changed into an orb of light as it had its material also hover with it as a portal opened up in front of the boy as the orbs disappeared into it as a pillar of light emerged. "Fiercest falcon, set your wings ablaze and lock your gaze on our ill-fated foe! Now, make it so! Go, Rank-Up Xyz Evolution! Emerge, Raidraptor - Revolution Falcon(2000/3000, OLU: 2)!" Shadow expressed his anger and fury as his monster rose up as it let out a screech.

"Not bad." said Pinkie as she did have to admit that Shadow did pull off a good move. In fact, while she may not have shown it, she couldn't help but smile that throughout this whole duel, Shadow was steering clear of his usual tactics and exploring more options.

Turn 14: Shadow

"My turn, and now I'll use an overlay unit to activate my Revolution Falcon's ability! Now I can drop the attack points of your monster to 0. So go Revolution Falcon, time to dish Pinkie some even more damage. Blitz Bombardment!!!!!!!!!!!!" shouted Shadow as loud as he could as he was letting all his anger and fury out of being her student. His falcon then soared high into the air as it reached above the clouds and then opened its compartments as tiny bombs started to fall down over the field as Pinkie's chateau was also taking some damage as bits of its walls were blown as Pinkie covered up with her monster being destroyed.
Pinkie's Life Points: 3200-

"My trap is still active." said Pinkie as she dealt some damage to Shadow.
Shadow's Life Points: 3000-

"With that, I'll end my turn with one final facedown."

"They both have about the same life points." said Isaac as he watched the two individuals as they were both breathing hard as they struggled to stay up as the duel was taking a heavy toll on them. Isaac knew that both individuals were angry and this was the best way for both to let out their feelings and let the other know how they felt.

"It all comes down to this next move." said Isaac as the end of this duel was now moments away.

Turn 15: Pinkie

"Time to end this, I draw!" said Pinkie as she drew her card as it was in a trail of pink light as it had some particle effects. "I now activate the spell Rank-Up-Magic Madolche Goodness!" shouted Pinkie.

"A rank up card?" said Shadow as he didn't expect this from the party girl.

"Now I can select a monster in my graveyard and then summon a monster from my extra deck that's one rank higher!" shouted Pinkie as her Madolche Teacher Glassouffle rose up and then transformed into a dark orb of light as it stayed in the air and then a portal opened up as the orb disappeared into it as a pillar of light emerged. "Go Rank-Up Xyz Evolution, I Xyz Summon, Madolche Empress Haute(3000/2800, OLU:1)!" Out emerged a high class girl as she was dressed in a 14th century dress as they were made up of small portions of the food as she wore white gloves that covered her arms all the way up to her elbows. Her hair was done in a bun and when let down flowed majestically to her shoulders as she had brunette hair and a smile that made you fall in love with her as she wore a necklace.

"Well, now... she's definitely pretty." said Shadow as he did admit that Pinkie's new monster was stunning as it got the boy's attention heavily.

"Now to explain my new monster. When it's successfully Xyz Summoned, I can activate 'Madolche Chateau' from my deck. Also once per turn, if a 'Madolche' monster would be shuffled into the deck, I can attach it to this card as an Xyz material. And my monster's ability, I can use an overlay unit, and all 'Madolche' monsters can inflict piercing damage till the end of the next end phase!" stated Pinkie. "And of course, she gains 500 extra attack and defense points due to my field spell."

"Take it out!" shouted Pinkie as her brand new monster tossed off her heels as they made contact with Shadow's monster and took it out.
Shadow's Life Points: 1500-

"And my trap works once more!" said Pinkie as the flames that surrounded the dueling field engulfed the two individuals as it resembled their anger and fury to one another.
Shadow's Life Points: 1200-

"This duel is over!" screamed Pinkie with fury. Soon Pinkie saw something as it was the outline of someone as he emerged from the flames as he too had an angry look as he let out a scream.

"AHHHH!!!! There's now way you're gonna win this Pinkie!!!! You hear me!!!!! I've had it!!!!" shouted Shadow as he activated his facedown. "I activate Rank-Up-Magic Doom Double Force to resurrect my Revolution Falcon and use it to Xyz Summon another Raidraptor that's twice the rank!!" shouted Shadow as his monster appeared and then changed into a dark orb of light as a portal opened up in front of the boy as it disappeared into it and a pillar of light emerged as the monster itself was seeing coming out of the fire and the flames. "They say it is the phoenix that rises from the ashes of defeat, but they're wrong, it is the Raptor! Go, Rank-Up Xyz Evolution! Raidraptor - Final Fortress Falcon(3800/2800, OLU: 1)!!!!" expressed Shadow as he said the chant with all the anger and passion he had up to this point. Out emerged Shadow's most powerful monster in his deck of falcons as it appeared and let out a screech as Pinkie looked at it.

Turn 16: Shadow

"Now! Raidraptor Final Fortress Falcon attack Madolche Empress Haute! Bombardment Blast Barrage!!!!" shouted the boy as his monster opened the tiny compartments on its body and and then shot out missiles as they zoomed at high speed and then made contact with Pinkie's monster as they took her out.
Pinkie's Life Points: 2900-

"My trap does its effect once more!" shouted Pinkie.
Shadow's Life Points: 900-

"Time to end this duel, cause up to twice per turn my monster can attack again, simply by banishing a 'Raidraptor' Xyz monster from my extra deck! So I banish my Blade Burner Falcon to attack you directly and end this duel!!!" shouted Shadow as the flames around both duelists intensified as his monster used those flames and shot towards Pinkie who covered up.
Pinkie's Life Points: 0

Winner: Shadow

The duel was over as the flames that were on the dueling field died down and extinguished as everything was turned back to normal. For Shadow and Pinkie, they both collapsed at the same time as both were tired and exhausted from this passionate brawl. Both just slowly lifted their head off the ground to look at the other, they couldn't hear it but from what they muttered and read from each other's lips, it seemed to get the message across. After a few minutes, both started to slowly get up as they each dragged their bodies closer until they met in the middle in the same exact spot that had them doing all the crazy activates from before. Both breathed heavily as they were still tired with bits of scuffs on their clothes and appearance as wanted to say something.

"I'm... sorry." said both individuals.

"I'm sorry... for making you cry. I'm sorry for pushing you away and taking my anger out on you. I just, couldn't take it anymore that I had to express what I was feeling. It just came out wrong." said Shadow.

"I'm sorry too. I just I should have realized my antics could get out of hand and was probably causing you to go mad. Isaac said I can be a handful at times, but sometimes I can't help it. I just go all out and overboard, especially with you, cause all I wanted to do... was make you smile." said the party girl.

"Make me smile?" said Shadow. Soon the memories from before the duel came back as the expression on his face soften then his lips slowly curved upwards as for the first time since being with Pinkie, the boy had a genuine smile on his face.

"Well, you did that."

"Yay!" said Pinkie as in an instant she was back to her usual self as the color returned and her hair got even more puffier. She then pulled the boy into a hug as this time Shadow just let her and eventually returned the gesture as Pinkie rubbed his hair.

"They finally made up. And just in time." said Isaac as the exam was coming up fast.

"So, can I be your student again?" asked Shadow.

"Silly, you never stopped being my student." said the party girl as she pulled out a cookie for her apprentice as he grabbed and smile. "Plus, I learned some new tricks from you, like my own Rank-Up-Magic card. Thanks, I love having you as a student."

"And I like having you as my tutor, even if you drive me insane at times." chuckled Shadow as he looked at Pinkie. He then saw Isaac approach them as he too smiled at the pair.

"So, who wants ice cream? My treat." stated Isaac.

"Oh, me. ME!" shouted Pinkie as she quickly zoomed over to the ice cream shop.

"Pinkie! Wait up, don't cause a mess like last time!" shouted the boy as he quickly chased after his little sis.

"Yeah, I think I'll let Isaac be the one to handle Pinkie's crazy tactics." said the boy to himself as he went after the two older teens and to possibly help his head professor in dragging Pinkie away making the ice cream parlor go bankrupt.

Shadow has gotten stronger. Maybe having Pinkie as a mentor isn't that bad. Still, she should cool it down with her crazy antics from time to time.
