Chapter 84: Spirits

The days had passed by as everybody was looking forward to Halloween festival that was going to take place. According to Luna, she was so on board with the idea that she started to actually work with Pinkie to create the festival not only for the students but for their families. She was so enthralled that she wanted to give it a cool name, so they decided to call it Nightmare Night. The craziest thing that surprised everybody was that she acted like a little kid as she showed a new side of her that she didn't normally show. Principal Celestia was happy that she got to see her little sister acting like a kid again that she just told everybody to roll with it.

The students were busy putting up the decorations in the auditorium as they put up some handmade ghosts, bats, they even borrowed a skeleton from the anatomy class. Applejack and her family even brought some pumpkins that the school could use as they allowed the party planning committee to create some jack-o-lanterns. Out on the field, there was others helping to set up some games like bobbing for apples, spider tossing, pumpkin catapulting, even a face-painting booth. The woodshop club even got to work on creating a haunted house for everybody's amusement. There was even a Halloween Bingo section that was being setup. Overall, Luna was ecstatic as she really enjoyed all the things due to her liking things that had to do with the nighttime.

"Well things seem to be going along quite nicely." Twilight was currently checking things off a checklist as she was put in charge of making sure things got done.

"Especially with all the food that's being served." said Spike as he had managed to grab some from the stands that would be serving for the families.

"I'll say this is turning out to be one of the best Halloween bashes that the school is putting on." said Dash as she finished setting up the one-legged race.

"Pinkie and the rest of the planning committee have really went all out." stated Sunset who was creating a poster to help draw in people. "With this poster that I created, we'll make sure people buy tickets for our Nightmare Night festival."

Twilight, Spike, and Dash all came over to look at Sunset's work and they were impressed with what they saw.

"Not bad, Sunset. But you know what would make it even more awesome is if you added some Duel Monster creatures on the poster." suggested Rainbow Dash.

"Why would she do that?" asked Twilight.

"Duh, cause it'll help draw attention for the kids. Not to mention that Isaac will be having an exhibition duel as the main entertainment."

"Which means you need to add a Dark Magician to the front of the poster. Or maybe Dark Magician Girl for all the guys to attend." said Spike as he used his claws to get the bites of food stuck in his teeth.

"I think I can add a couple of things," Sunset then got to work as she drew a couple of well-known monsters from the game. Sunset even included an image of Dark Magician as she made it seem like he was fending off all the evil monster spirits. "Well, what do you think?"

"Awesome. Now that's what I call a poster." exclaimed Rainbow.

"Love the use of different scarying elements." said Spike.

"I'll admit it looks good, but I still think it could've done the same job without the monsters. No offense, but Isaac talks with the spirits of his magicians because of his bond that he has with them. Other than that, there's no such thing as monster spirits, it's just not scientifically possible." stated Twilight as she pushed up her glasses.

"You're kidding, right." said Spike as he couldn't believe Twilight said something like that given the person she was in a relationship with.

"We have seen magic." stated Sunset.

"That's different. There's a logically reason, but in terms of Duel Monster spirits existing, that's just superstition." Twilight went back to making sure everything was on track while Sunset, Spike and Rainbow just rolled their eyes at how Twilight was in such denial, even though her boyfriend was someone who could talk with Duel Monster spirits.

Isaac was currently doing something that required his attention. Right now his mind was focused on making sure that whatever move was made it would prove beneficial. Although Pinkie was having a hard time trying to figure things out. Isaac just let out a sigh.

"Focus, little sis. If you want to get better at a new deck, then you need to know how it functions. That includes not being afraid to make mistakes and learning from them."

"I'm trying, big bro. I just don't know what card I should play." Pinkie was struggling to figure out which card she should play to handle Isaac's monster. "Okay. I'll now play my Madolche Messengelato(1600/1000)." Pinkie played her monster on her card tray and out came a kid who was wearing a delivering outfit while it had a couple of sweets in its pockets. It was next to a tiny maid that sat on a delicious pastry. "Now I think I'll overlay both of my level 4 Madolche Messengelato and Marmalmaide to construct the Overlay Network. I Xyz Summon, Madolche Queen Tiaramisu(2200/2100)!" Out came a new monster as it was a tiny queen that sat on a throne onto of a tiaramisu pastry as she had a little scepter. As always Pinkie had a way with interacting with her cards as her monster brought a plate full for Pinkie as she devoured it in seconds. After letting out a huge burp, both smiled at each other as they giggled.

"I'll never understand Pinkie's antics." said Isaac at how insane Pinkie had with her cards. Madolche Queen then appeared in front of Isaac as he just blinked at her; she then brought a plate of her dessert as she took out a fork and offered a piece to Isaac. "Oh, thank you." said Isaac he took a bite. He enjoyed it as he gave her a thumbs up which caused the tiny monster to smile, soon she did the same thing as she made her way till she was eye level with Isaac's Dark Magician.

Pinkie's monster then did the same as she offered Mahad a taste of her dessert. Mahad thought it was weird that they were suppose to be engaged in battle and here his opponent was offering him a pastry. He then looked at Isaac for some signal on what he should do.

Isaac just shrugged his shoulders, "Just try it." said Isaac.

"I'm one for always being focused on the battle, master. But it's your order, and I will obey it." said Mahad. He then took a bite from the dessert and just had a straight look on his face. Madolche Queen was looking to see what Mahad's response was to which he just wiped his mouth, and apparently that was enough as Pinkie's monster was happy.

"Did I do something wrong, master?"

"I don't know what to tell you, Mahad. You know how painful it gets trying to figure out Pinkie Pie's antics when it comes to Duel Monsters and her cards." said Isaac.

After the duel ended, Isaac was sitting on the grass with Pinkie as they were going over the result of the duel. Safe to say that Isaac was able to gain some useful data that he could use. "Well, I think that was a productive duel. Despite us stopping halfway to try different sweets from your monsters."

"I can't just ignore the delicious treats that my monsters make. It would make them sad." said Pinkie as she gave Isaac the puppy dog eyes.

"Regardless, I think that with a bit more practice, you could have this deck down to a science."

"Well, I couldn't have done it without the best big brother I could ask for." Pinkie then gave Isaac a hug as she nuzzled his cheek. "I appreciate you trying to help me to master and learn a new deck. I'll always have a soft spot for my Toons, but I figured that if I wanted to compete with the rest of you. I need something that's a bit more viably."

"I understand. Trying to learn a new deck can be tricky at first. Especially something like this, to be honest I knew little about a Madolche deck. So when I asked Mr. William and Mr. Johnson for some clarification, I kinda of got a sense of how it worked." said Isaac. "At first glance I can see why this is something that relates to you sis, due to the many puns and sweets that these are based on. Just remember that this deck revolves on recycling your cards for repeated uses. The ultimate goal is to maintain card advantage and take advantage of openings to quickly deal damage."

"Okay, and the cards that I'll be rely on is Madolche Puddingcess and Queen Tiaramisu." stated Pinkie as she showed the cards.

"Correct, little sis. Because of their ability to swarm the field, they can also quickly and easily Xyz Summon both Rank 3 and 4 monsters."

"Right. Thanks again, Isaac. I'm glad you can help me to practice this deck; I really want to show this off to the others, but only once I've got a much better grasp."

"Anytime, Pinkie. Besides, I'm also learning how this works. That way I can continue to offer some advice and make any changes that may prove beneficial to you."

"Hey, I just thought of something."

"Uh-oh." said Isaac as he was scared on what his little sister had on her mind.

"Do you think that you can be able to make my card's spirits come alive? That way I can be able to talk with them and we can become fast friends." giggled Pinkie.

"What makes you think that I can do that?"

"You're funny, big bro. Come on, you talk to your magicians all the time."

"That's different." stated Isaac. "The reason is because I have a strong bond with my deck that allows me to see my magicians and the other monsters in my deck. I don't just have the power to make shit magically appear out of thin air."

"Please." said Pinkie as she batted her eyes doing her best little sister pleading face.

Isaac kept saying no as Pinkie started to act like a little sibling. She began to annoy Isaac by constantly asking "Please?". Soon Isaac tried to drown out her antics, but it proved useless as he couldn't take it anymore.

"Alright, if I do this will you please stop pestering me!?!" shouted Isaac as he was annoyed. Isaac then grabbed her deck as he looked at it. I don't even know how the hell to do this. I just did it to get Pinkie to stop. Isaac then remembered on how he was able to get Twilight to see his magicians when they were at Camp Everfree, so he closed his eyes and focused. After a while, Isaac just opened his eyes and there was nothing around them. "Sorry, Pinkie. Doesn't seem to work."

"It's okay." Pinkie then grabbed her deck from Isaac's hand as a magical surge quickly went through her. Soon Pinkie felt something on her shoulder as she saw the spirits of her deck.

"What the hell!?!" said Isaac as he did a double take. He couldn't believe what he was seeing in front of him. "Guess that shit worked."

Pinkie's expression was totally different as she was giddy as she bounced up and down while playing with her monsters. Soon some of her Toons appeared as they wanted to join in on the fun with their master. Isaac was just in disbelief on what he saw that his brain stopped working. After sometime, Pinkie said goodbye to her beloved monster spirits as they waved goodbye to their owner and promised to have fun the next time they met each other. Pinkie just had a smile on her face as she looked at Isaac who was still trying to wrap his head around what had happened.

"I'm done, @*$% magic!" said Isaac. "Roll the next part of the story before I lose my mind." shouted Isaac.

Luna was so happy with how the festivities were coming along, as someone who loved the nighttime, Halloween was without a doubt her favorite holiday. She especially loved the idea of being scared, for some weird reason it gave her adrenaline; the thought of being scared senseless, the tingled all over your body, the feeling of your heart racing. Overall, Luna was like a kid on her birthday. She even managed to convince the wardrobe club to host a costume party for the kids as she would select the best outfit as the winner. She couldn't wait for things to get started, though she wanted to take part in dressing up. However, she needed someone to help her, but who.

"That's the last time I grant Pinkie's wish." shouted Isaac as he was walking down the hall and passed by Luna's office.

Luna then got an idea. "Perfect." She then stepped out and called out to Isaac. "Going somewhere, Isaac?"

Isaac immediately stopped in his tracks as he slowly turned to look at Luna. "Vice-Principal Luna. Uhm... what a surprise. Is there something the matter?" said Isaac nervously.

"As a matter of fact, there is. Come with me sacrifice, I mean volunteer." said Luna as she lead Isaac into her office.

It was now nighttime as Isaac was in his house getting ready for the Nightmare Night festival. "I can't believe I agreed to this," said Isaac. "Then again, I didn't want to find out the hard way what Vice-Principal Luna had planned if I didn't help her." Apparently, Luna needed someone to dress up and act as her personal guard based on the costume she wanted to go as. Soon after some convincing, Isaac agreed to help Luna. He just wanted to enjoy the night that he wasn't going to dress up, especially since he had to put on some entertainment for everybody.

Regardless, he was putting on the last bit of his costume. He was wearing some black armor. The black chest piece wrapped around his torso completely, fastened seamlessly around him. Interlocking plates of black metal providing protection as well as mobility to the rather delicate appendages. Leg guards surrounded his legs, more plates found at the joints around his limbs, providing proper movement despite the unyielding material. The helmet was on his bed as it would serve to hide his hair from sight as well as it had a single piece of metal hung down, that would cover the bridge of his nose and help keep it in place.

"Almost done, last thing." Isaac then started to grab the helmet as it tumbled off his bed. "Great." Isaac then reached down to grab the headpiece.

"Here you go, Isaac."

"Thanks, Mana." Isaac then blinked. "Wait... Mana?" Isaac fell on his bed as he was in shock of what he saw.

Isaac was used to talking with his Dark Magician Girl, but she was still a spirit. This time around, she had actually picked up the helmet and was holding it as if it was real. Isaac was so shocked at what he was seeing that he couldn't wrap his head around what was happening, meanwhile Mana just smiled at how her master was acting.

"Okay, I really need stop hanging out with Pinkie. How... how is this possible? You're nothing more than a spirit. No offense." said Isaac.

"None taken." giggled Mana. "Here let me help you, otherwise Vice-Principal Luna will be angry." Mana then put the helmet on Isaac's head as it fit snuggly on his head. She then pushed him in front of the mirror as she allowed Isaac to see his reflection.

Isaac also saw that despite Mana being real, her reflection didn't appear in the mirror. Now he was all sorts of confused. "Okay, now I've lost it. First off, how are you real? And second, how come I can't see your reflection?"

"That's easy, cause I'm still a spirit. The real reason that I'm able to appear as if I'm lifelike is because of old Hallows eve magic. You know the stories that on this day, spirits and monsters can roam the earth for one night. Well this year, I was able to slip away from Mahad's teachings and figured I have a little fun. And what better way than to see how things have changed since I was last alive. And Halloween seemed like the perfect excuse for me to see the real world." giggled Mana.

Isaac was still in disbelief at how he could actually talk and feel as if his Dark Magician Girl was real. "For some strange reason, this is both believable and mind-blowing at the same time. Well, I guess that would explain why Pinkie was able to interact with her monster spirits from earlier. Good to know that I'm the only one who can actually talk to my spirits. Could you imagine, how many people would come up asking me to make the cards in their deck come real?"

"I can imagine, all of that would take you away from me and Mahad." giggled Mana.

"Well, if you're gonna go out. Then you'll need a costume to disguise yourself." stated Isaac.

"Why not this?" said Mana as she pointed to herself. "I mean, it's Halloween and nobody would expect the real Dark Magician Girl to go as herself."

"There's a reason why I don't want you going as that. Let's say that certain male individuals will be rather attentive towards you." said Isaac as he did his best to explain what he meant.

"Is that what you're worried about?" smirked Mana. "Are you worried that I'll attract too much attention, or is that you want me all too yourself?"

"That's not the reason. You know that Twilight is my girlfriend, and I love her to death. I'm just... concerned is all."

"Don't worry, Isaac. I'll be fine, I can take care of myself. Plus I'll have you with me all night, kinda like a date if you think about."

"You don't know how many people are dying to be in my position right now." said Isaac as he looked at the fourth wall with a straight tone. "Alright, well we better not keep everybody waiting. Let's go and if anybody ask, you're my cousin who's visiting from out of town. Got it?"

Mana just nodded as she grabbed Isaac's arm. Isaac just rolled his head as he prepared himself for what was going to be a long night. They then exited Isaac's house as they began to make their way towards the school for the Nightmare Night festival. During their walk, Mana asked Isaac a couple of questions on certain topics she had. Soon they arrived at the school as the festivities were in full swing.

There were kids running around playing different games. There were groups of people entering the haunted house, even some of the older students were getting their face painted as they enjoyed the activities. Everybody was enjoying themselves, Isaac and Mana then arrived as a couple of students welcomed them. The boys immediately were smitten with Mana as she just waved at them as the two of them passed by the entrance. Soon they came up offering her some gifts and items to which she thanked them, as Isaac pulled her away.

"Well, everybody seems nice." smiled Mana.

"That's because these guys aren't used to seeing a hot girl at these things." stated Isaac.

"Oh, so you think I'm hot?" said Mana with a sly smile.

"Well yeah. Look at what you're wearing." said Isaac as he pointed to his magician's attire. "You're wearing a miniskirt and showing off some skin. And your legs. Also you know... your... bosom is kind hard not to look at. That and you have blond hair, you're basically the spitting image of what any guy would like to have in a women. How can anybody not be attracted by you?"

Mana just chuckled at the compliments that her master was giving her. "Thanks for the kind words, Isaac. But don't you think Twilight will be jealous that you're trying to flirt with me?"

"I'm not flirting with you!!" shouted Isaac. "I'm just... just..." Isaac didn't know what to say as Mana just seemed to be ignoring what he said.

"Lighten up, Isaac." smiled Mana. "I understand what you're saying. Which is why it breaks my heart that I have to turn down so many suitors. But it's like I tell them, you're the only man who I belong to." Mana then gave Isaac a kiss on the cheek. "And I wouldn't have it any other way." She then closed her eyes as she snuggled Isaac's arm.

"I can't tell if I should be happy or concerned about that statement." said Isaac bluntly.

With that they began to take part in some activities, they went to a booth that had a ring toss game. Mana wanted to take a shot at a modern game, so Isaac paid for her to play and Mana stepped up as she grabbed the ring and did her best to land it on the bottle. Seems she had a difficult time as she used up all her attempts, but seeing as how the person running the booth was smitten by her appearance that he allowed a free throw. Mana wanted to make sure that she got it, so she asked for Isaac's assistance. She really enjoyed messing with her master that she asked Isaac to put his arms around her as he helped her to get the right angle to throw the object. Isaac was hesitant on doing this, but knowing Mana, she would continue to mess with him. So he did as she asked and put his arms around her as he helped her to properly throw the ring. It seemed to work as Mana tossed the object and it landed around the top of the bottle. Isaac gave her a thumbs up as she bounced up and down for a bit, as she received her prize.

They then moved onto to another game which was bobbing for apples. Isaac went first as she showed her how it was done. Mana then held Isaac's helmet as he didn't want it to get in the way. Isaac took a deep breath as he plunged his head into the tub of water as he tried his best to grab an apple. After a couple of moments, Isaac's head rose up as his hair was wet, but in his mouth was an apple as he grabbed it and took a bite. Mana was ecstatic that she wanted to try it, so she handed her hat to her master to hold as she dunk her head into the tub. After a while, Mana then pulled up as her hair was wet but she managed to get a small apple in her mouth as Isaac just rolled his eyes while giving her a smile and thumbs up.

Mana really wanted to try some modern food as Isaac paid for her. Once she took a bite out of it, her eyes immediately turned into sparkles as she couldn't believe how delicious it was. It was definitely better than the stuff she was used to when she was last alive. After that they then made their way into the auditorium as they saw tons of students mingling with each other. Just like before all the boys were smitten when they saw Mana, the girls just had pissed off looks. However, their expression changed on a dime as they saw her clutching Isaac's arm; Isaac did his best saying that she was his cousin which seemed to work.

"Whew, my life nearly ended right there." said Isaac as he wiped his forehead from the sweat.

"Good thing that didn't happen." smiled Mana. "I've been enjoying our date so far." said Mana with a smirk.

"It's not a date!" yelled Isaac.

"Excuse me!?!" shouted another voice.

Isaac immediately felt a like hiding as he knew whose voice that belonged to. He then turned around and there was standing the one person he didn't want to anger. Twilight was wearing a blue wizards cape and hat that had stars and moons on them with bells along the bottom of the cape, as well as bells along the rim and top of her hat. She had also tied a white beard on her chin. She wasn't alone as Spike was next to her as he was dressed in a dragon outfit. However, the real story was on Twilight's face who was seething.

"Twilight." chuckled Isaac sheepishly. "Good to see you, my that costume really is something. Is that Starswirl the Bearded? And are those stiches handmade?"

"Oh no, don't change the subject." Twilight now had her arms crossed. "So, mind telling me who she is?"

"Listen... I can explain..."

"Oh my, Twilight it's lovely to see you. And you too, Spike." Mana then bent down and picked up Spike in her arms as she began to rub his belly to which he started to lick Mana's face nonstop. "Oh, aren't you a good little doggie."

"Oh, yeah. That's the spot." said Spike as he enjoyed Mana rubbing his tummy that he started to stomp his foot in excitement.

"Well! I'm waiting!" said Twilight as she was tapping her foot.

"Twilight, let me explain. Just don't freak out like you normally do. See Mana here is actually the spirit of my Dark Magician Girl." Isaac quickly closed his eyes as he turned his head.

"Stop lying! Now tell me the truth!!" shouted Twilight.

"But it is." said Mana as she handed Spike to Isaac. "I must say that you are move lovely than ever in real life. I can see why Isaac can't stop talking about you nonstop. Oh I dare say that my beloved master is lucky to have someone like you to take care of him."

"Isaac?" Twilight looked at her boyfriend for some answers.

"It's true." he said.

"Oh my god. How is this possible? Spirits can't be real, it's not scientifically possible!" said Twilight.

"Really? Out of all the time you've hung out with me, you really didn't think that Duel Monster spirits weren't real. I talk to my magicians for crying out loud." said Isaac.

"Dude, that's what I've been telling her." said Spike.

So after an exposition, Twilight was now in shock that Isaac's Dark Magician Girl was actually real. And the fact that she was talking to a monster spirit was mind-blowing. Regardless, she threw all logic out the window as she believed Isaac.

"You were right, Isaac. She does freak-out a lot." said Mana.

"Tell me about it." said Spike.

"Anyways, care to show me some other things, Isaac." said Mana as she batted her eyes at Isaac.

Twilight was gritting her teeth. She knew Isaac wouldn't cheat on her, but the fact that he had another girl next to him kind made her jealous. Not to mention that it was his Dark Magician Girl that he was hanging out with. She wasn't really real, so why was she feeling jealous. Before Isaac could answer, he was approached by Vice-Principal Luna who told him that she needed his assistance. So with that she dragged Isaac away so that she could change into her costume, that left Mana to be with Twilight and Spike. The tension was there as Twilight was still angry at her for clinging to Isaac's side so closely. After a while of hanging out, both reconciled and Twilight apologized that she felt jealous of Mana hanging out with her boyfriend. She understood that she just wanted to enjoy herself. Mana also said sorry for letting Twilight get the wrong idea and told her that she was still was making sure that Isaac was safe as it was part of her duty.

Soon the lights turned off as a spotlight appeared which caused everybody to look at the stage. Then a steam machine was turned on as fog started to appear. Then a narrative voice came out as thunder and lightning went off.

"Follow me, and very soon, you'll hear the tale of Nightmare Moon. Listen close, my little dears, I'll tell you where you got your fears of Nightmare Night, so dark and scary." said the voice as a candle went out. "Of Nightmare Moon, who makes you wary. Every year, we put on a disguise, to save ourselves from her searching eyes." The little kids started to hug their parents tightly as they were scared. Spike let out a whimper as he jumped into Twilight's arms as he tried to hide with her cloak. "But Nightmare Moon wants just one thing: to gobble up people in one quick swing! Hungrily, she soars the sky. If she sees nobody, she passes by. So if she comes and all is clear, thus is safe another year!" chuckled the voice in a deep, bellowing voice. "And I heard, as it were, the noise of thunder. One of the poor beasts saying: 'Come and see'. And I saw, and behold a white horse. And it's name that sat on him was death and hell followed him."

Then a carriage came out onto the stage as there was a rider and a driver who sat on the front of the carriage as it was being pulled. The driver who was dressed in armor then got up and began to open the door as the person inside stepped out. The individual wore a dark cloak over its body as it masked their features entirely. A sudden bolt of lightning flashed, lighting up the figure for an instant, enough to see a pair glowing of teal eyes.

The figure then stepped out as the guard behind her bowed down, then the figure flipped up their hoodie to reveal...

"Vice-Principal Luna?" said Twilight from the crowd.

All at once, her cloak came undone, but rather than fall to the floor, it suddenly split apart into a swarm of bats, who flew off into the night sky. Luna now stood there as she was able to make her hair twinkle as it imitated stars in the night sky. She too was wearing attire that was similar to Isaac's as it made her look regal but also like she was a princess. In fact, given her name, she could be called the princess of the night. She looked out at the crowd of people who all looked at her with fear in their eyes. She then smirked at them as she let out a booming voice.

"Citizens of Canterlot! We have graced your tiny establishment with our presence, so that you might behold the real Princess of the Night! A creature of nightmares no longer, but instead a person who desires your love and admiration! Together we shall change this dreadful celebration into a bright and glorious feast!" shouted Luna.

"Jess, too much on the Shakespearian dialect." said Isaac as he was bowing down next to Luna who shot him a dirty look.

After that, everybody gave a rounding applause to Luna for providing them with a good scare. Luna was rather pleased with her performance.

"I admit thy was a stellar display. And thanks to thy sir Isaac, you were most terrify in thy introduction of thy sinister tongue. We are most gracious for thy effort in making our presence known." said Luna still in her booming voice.

"What the hell did you just say? And could you lower the volume a bit." said Isaac as he covered his ears.

"But this is the traditional royal voice! It is tradition to speak using the royal 'we', and to use [booming voice] this much volume when addressing our subjects!" shouted Luna.

"Well change your approach a bit." said Isaac as his ears were ringing.

"Change our approach?" Luna said while still using the voice.

"God damn it! Lower the volume." shouted Isaac.

"Ohhh." said Luna in a lower volume. "How... about... now?"

"Better." stated Isaac.

"And... how about now?" she said in a normal voice.

"Just keep the volume to that minimum and we shouldn't have a problem." said Isaac.

Luna then pulled Isaac into a tight hug as she thanked Isaac using her booming voice. "I thank thee, dear Isaac! Our normal speaking voice shall surely win us the hearts of thy fellow citizens."

"What did I just say?" said Isaac as his eardrums were now blown out.

After that sonic boom from Vice-Principal Luna, Isaac had to sit down for a while. Thankfully, Mana was able to cast a spell on her master as it allowed him to recover from the pain and fix his hearing. Isaac thanked his Dark Magician Girl to which she just gave him a hug and a quick peck on the cheek. With that they met up with Twilight and Spike as they took part in some more activities, even Vice-Principal Luna joined in on the fun. Everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves, however, unbeknownst to anybody, there was another presence watching as he looked to create some chaos.

Soon it was time for the costume party where Luna would act as the judge. Just as they were about to get started, the entire building started to shut down it was dark. The only light came from the windows which had the moon shining brightly that it allowed some field of vision.

"What's going on?" asked Isaac.

"Seems the power went out, I'll go take a look." Twilight then began to head over to the generator to find out the problem. Spike had decided to accompany her seeing as he was scared of being left alone.

Mana then grabbed Isaac as she put her arm out in front of him. "Stay behind me, Isaac. That blackout wasn't a coincidence, someone or something did it on purpose. I can sense their presence."

Both Mana and Isaac looked around to see anything usually, but there was nothing out of the sorts. Just then there was a scream. It caused both of them to turn towards the entrance of the back door as they saw what looked to be a cloaked individual holding an unconscious person in their arm.

"Time for me to make my exit." said the mysterious thing as it went through the doors.

"After it." shouted Isaac as he and Mana began to chase after the mystery intruder. Luna had noticed this and was intrigued to see where Isaac and his friend were going.

The pair had managed to follow the hooded figure into the school gardens as they soon found themselves surround by deep, thick trees. They kept chasing until the figure disappeared behind some bushes. Once they got past it, they came upon the figure standing there waiting for them. Isaac and Mana were surprised as not only had the mysterious individual had captured someone, but two other individuals who were also knocked unconscious.

"Hey isn't that Microchips, Lyra, and even Derpy." said Isaac as he recognized the three bodies on the floor. "What have you done with them?" shouted Isaac.

"I've simply in need of their life force, so that I can be free to leave the spirit world. And once I do, I'll reign destruction and terror throughout the land." said the hooded figure.

"Just who are you?" asked Isaac.

"I figured it would be you." said Mana. "There's no use hiding, show yourself, Goblin Zombie."

As on cue the figure then took off its disguise as standing in its place was the spirit of the monster card, Goblin Zombie. However, unlike Dark Magician Girl, he was rather transparent. He looked almost like a hologram. Isaac was confused on that as he asked his magician for some answers.

"Hey, Mana. Mind telling me why he looks like that?"

"Remember when I told you about us spirits being to cross into the real world. Well what I didn't tell you is that only good nature spirits can be free to cross the border, sure there are a couple of tricksters/jokers of spirits, but they don't mean to cause harm. However, the ones that are filled with evil and want to bring destruction are forbidden from leaving the spirit world. In fact, the only way they can be real is by having either someone take their place or they find enough lifeforce to escape." Mana then looked back at the creature in front of her. "Seems Goblin Zombie was somehow able to escape the barrier and is looking for some souls to help give him the power he needs to escape."

"Let them go, bug-face. If you need a sacrifice, well then, take me instead."

Mana was surprised at what her master had suggested. "Isaac, I can't let you do that. My duty is to protect you; let me handle him."

"You do emit more vitality than these other three. I'll take you up on your offer." said Goblin Zombie.

"Fine, on one condition thou, you and I duel. If you win, you take my life energy. But if I win, and you go back to where you belong!" stated Isaac.

"A duel? Very well then." chuckled the monster. "I should be able to sustain myself in limbo long enough for our match. First I'll beat you, then I'll consume you."

"Yeah, we'll see." said Isaac.

Mana was now worried about her master. "Please, Isaac I can take care of this myself."

"Sorry Mana, but I've made my decision." Isaac was about to put on his duel disk when another person appeared in front of him.

The figure was none other than Vice-Principal Luna who stood between Isaac and the evil Goblin Zombie spirit. She then turned on a duel disk as it projected a card tray that matched the color of her hair. Everybody was confused by this, especially Isaac.

"Vice-Principal Luna? What you doing, get out of here. I can handle this." stated Isaac.

"Those students are my responsibility. And anybody who lays a hand on them must answer to me." said Luna as she looked at Isaac. "And as for you foul creature, you've ruined what was suppose to be a memorable night for me. For that you shall pay dearly, so I'll take the place of Isaac in this duel."

"What? Hang on..."

"Enough with the delays! Let's get this duel started. Once I've disposed of your beloved vice-principal, I'll feast on your lifeforce to give me even more power." said Goblin Zombie.

Isaac still was in disbelief that Luna had offered to take his place as he felt like he could have handled this himself. Nevertheless, he just let out a sigh and gave Luna some words of encouragement. "Well, go get 'em Luna." Isaac and Mana then stepped to the side to allow the two of them to duel.

"Don't fret, Isaac. Should something go a wrong in this duel, I'll protect you and Luna." Mana assured Isaac that she would be there to protect the both of them from harm.

"Now time to make you regret you ever crossed Nightmare Moon." said Luna as she was referring to her costume.

"Opponent detected. Streaming data. Duel mode set. Initiating. Commencing duel." said Luna's duel disk.

Goblin Zombie used the energy he had gotten from the students to manifest the cards behind him as their backs were turned to face Luna.

Vice-Principal Luna's Life Points: 8000-

Goblin Zombie's Life Points: 8000-

Turn 1: Luna

"I'll start things off," Luna then drew her card and she had a smile on her face. "I'll play two cards facedown and end my turn."

Turn 2: Goblin Zombie

"Seems this duel will be easier than expected. Not even a single monster to protect you. Now I'll play Malice Doll of Demise(1600/1700). Next I'll play the continuous spell card, Ectoplasmer. Now thanks to this, we both sacrifice a monster at the end of our turn and half of their attack come out of our opponent's life points. Now then I'll have my Malice Doll attack you directly!" Malice Doll then lifted up its axe as it looked to bring it down on Luna.

"I reveal my facedown, it's a trap card called The Phantom Knights of Wrong Magnetring." Out came a ghostly ring as it caused Malice Doll to stop. "Now not only is your attack negated, but I can then special summon this card in attack position as an effect monster with 0 attack and defense points." Luna then took her trap card as she placed it on her card tray as a monster appeared.

"In that case, I'll end my turn. Now the effect of my Ectoplasmer allows me to sacrifice my Malice Doll and you take half of its attack points out of your life points." The life force of Malice Doll was then drained as it shot towards Luna.
Luna's Life Points: 7200-

Turn 3: Luna

"My draw," Luna looked at her hand as she considered her options. "I summon The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak(800/1000) in defense mode. Prepare for the unexpected, you see my knights don't fight alone when a level 3 phantom knight is on my field, I can summon The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots(200/1200) also in defense mode." Luna now had two monsters on her field that both had pale, white ghost faces as well as they wore dark black clothing. "Now I overlay my level three Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak and Phantom Knights of Silent Boots, with these two monsters I build the overlay network." Luna's monsters then transformed into purple orbs of light as they entered a vortex as out came a brand new monster. "I Xyz Summon, The Phantom Knights of Break Sword(2000/1000, OLU: 2)! Rise my mighty beast!" Out came what looked to be a headless horse man as it had flames on where its head and upper parts of its body were suppose to be.

"Woah, scary." said Isaac. He didn't expect Vice-Principal Luna to have this kind of deck.

"Now since I special summon summon a 'Phantom Knights', I can play this card from my hand. So join the battle, The Phantom Knights of Stained Greaves(1200/600). Now Brake Sword cut down his life points and Stained Greaves follow up with another attack." Both of Luna's ghostly figures heard their command from their mistress as they took to the field and did some significant damage to Goblin Zombie's life points.
Goblin Zombie's Life Points: 3800-

"Now I'll play a spell of mine own call Mirage of Nightmare. Now when it's your turn, I draw till I have four cards in my hand. But during my turn, I'll have to discard that same number of cards. But now I'll just end my turn and use your own card against you, so now you take half of my Phantom Knights of Stained Greaves' attack points from your life points." Luna's monster then had its spirit fire off at her opponent.
Goblin Zombie's Life Points: 3200-

"I'll then end my turn."

Turn 4: Goblin Zombie

"My turn, and since Malice Doll of Demise was sent to the graveyard due to an effect of a spell card. It automatically resurrects." stated the evil Goblin Zombie Spirit.

"Well speaking of spells, mine now activates." stated Luna. "Now I draw till I have four cards in my hand. Next I'll reveal my facedown, Emergency Provisions. So I'll destroy my Mirage of Nightmares to gain 1000 life points."
Luna's Life Points: 8200-

"Nice. Not only was Luna able to draw some more cards, but she was able to get a life points boost. Now she doesn't have to worry about tossing out any cards." exclaimed Isaac as he was impressed by the combo that his vice-principal was able to do.

"Seems your Vice-Principal is more than capable of taking care of herself." stated Mana.

"Now then, I'll play the spell card Graceful Charity. So I'll draw three cards and discard two. Now I'll summon my Shiranui Squire(1500/0). The effect of my squire allows me to special summon the tuner monster Shiranui Spectralsword(800/0)." Now there was two zombie monsters on the field. "But it won't stop there, since I have 2 'Shiranui' monsters with different names on my field. I can bring back my Shiranui Swordmaster(600/0) from my graveyard. Now I tune my level 3 Shiranui Spectralsword with my level 4 Shiranui Squire, I Synchro Summon, Shiranui Squiresaga(2100/0)." Out came out a warrior as it had a spirit behind them.

"Now I'll activate my Squiresaga's effect, so I'll banish my Shiranui Swordmaster to give my Squiresaga 300 more attack points. But since I banished my Swordmaster, I can give my Squiresaga another 600 more points bring its strength to 3000. Now I'll have my Shiranui Squiresaga will take out your Phantom Knights of Break Sword and Malice Doll will take out your Phantom Knights of Wrong Magnetring." With that Luna's monsters were taken out as she put her arm up to protect herself.
Luna's Life Points: 5600-

"Now the effect of my Ectoplasmer activates, so I'll sacrifice my Malice Doll to deal another 800 points of damage." chuckled Goblin Zombie as Luna felt the attack collide with her.
Luna's Life Points: 4800-

"Thank you." said Luna as she had a smile. "Now since Break Sword was destroyed, I can bring back the monsters that were used to summon it but this time their level increases by one." Both Phantom Knights of Silent Boots and Ancient Cloak appeared on Luna's field as they were now level 4.

Turn 5: Luna

"Now time for me to end this." said Luna as she drew her card.

"Don't make me laugh, mortal. There's nothing you can do, I have the strongest monster on the field." chuckled Goblin Zombie. "Just give up and I promise to make sure that your suffering is slow and painful."

"Perhaps you should be the one to cower in fear, cause in case you haven't notice. I have two level 4 monsters which is all that I need to summon my most powerful creature. Watch, now I overlay both of my level 4 Phantom Knights of Silent Boots and Ancient Cloak. Once more I construct the overlay network," Like before Luna's monsters changed into dark orbs of light as they combined together as a vortex opened up and out came a terrify new monster. "Cloaked in shadows and relentless in its objective, I call upon the most dangerous of dragons. Show yourself my pet, I Xyz Summon, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon(2500/2000, OLU: 2)!!" shouted Luna. Out came a big dragon as it unfurled its wings and let out a mighty cry. The most stunning feature was its chin which was long and acted like a weapon.

"That thing is her pet!?!" said Isaac as he was taking in Luna's monster as it was huge.

"Now I'll activate the special ability of my monster, by using one overlay unit, I can target one level 5 or higher monster on the field and cut its attack points in half. Then Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon gains those attack points." Luna then removed a material from her monster as Dark Rebellion Dragon zapped away the strength from Shiranui Squiresaga. "But why stop at one, I'll use the last Xyz material to use its effect once more." Just like before Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon zapped away even more points from its target as it got stronger. "Now my Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon has a total of 4300 which is more than enough to finish this. Now my pet, take flight and end this duel!!! Mauling Mandible Charge!!!" shouted Luna as she thrusted her hand out as her dragon took out her opponent.

"No!!!!" shouted Goblin Zombie as the attack cause it to ripple and fall to its knees.
Goblin Zombie's Life Points: 0-

Winner: Luna

"This... isn't over. I will escape this prison." said Goblin Zombie as he started to fade.

"Now time to make sure you never escape again." Mana then pointed her wand at the spirit. "Dark Burning Magic!!!" she shouted as a bright light started to surround Goblin Zombie as Mana was able to get rid of the spirit and send him back. Soon the light died down and there was nothing left.

"All done."

"Nice work, Mana." said Isaac as he gave his Dark Magician Girl a thumbs up. He then looked at the three unconscious students. "Are they okay?"

Mana the checked their lifeforce, "They'll be alright. They're just asleep. Probably be best if they forget what happened here."

"Fine by me, although I'm sure I won't. Duel spirits aren't just real, they're dangerous." said Isaac. "Well except for the ones like you, Mana." She was happy that her master said that as she gave him a thumbs up. Isaac then turned to address Luna. "By the way, sick duel Vice-Principal..."

Isaac didn't get to finish his sentence as Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon was still here as it gave a mighty cry at Isaac. Apparently it was highly protective of its owner that he got in Isaac's way as he stood between him and Luna. It then started to lower its head to Isaac as it showed him its fangs.

"Woah! Easy there buddy!" said Isaac as he fell on his bottom while trying to back away slowly. "Luna, call off your pet! Tell him I don't taste good!" shouted Isaac. Just as Mana was about to defend Isaac, Luna called off her dragon.

"Stay." said Luna while lifting her hand. "Heel boy." Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon then obeyed the command of its owner as it turned away from Isaac and lowered his head towards Luna as she gave him a petting. He let out a soothing growl as it loved Luna's affection. "Good boy, mama's proud of you." She then looked at Isaac, "My pet is rather attentive towards me."

"Yeah, I can see." said Isaac as he was trying to get his heartrate to calm down. He then picked himself up from the ground, "That's it, I've had enough spirits for one night." said Isaac as he was official done with Halloween.

With that all three of them carried the unconscious students back to the school. They arrived just in time as Twilight and Spike had fixed the lights, they were able to put the students on some chairs as nobody suspected a thing. Luna thanked Isaac and his Dark Magician Girl helping them to deal with the evil spirit; with that the rest of the festivities continued well into the night.

"Finally." said Isaac as he lying on his bed in his normal attire. He was joined by Mana who was standing in front of her master. "I think I've had enough evil spirits to last till next Halloween." said Isaac as he let out a distress sigh.

"Still we were able to stop him from escaping into the real world. I think that calls for a win." stated Mana.

"This is definitely the weirdest Halloween I've been a part of." Isaac then sat up on his bed.

"Well I certainly had fun." giggled Mana. "Thanks for this, Isaac. It was nice to hang out and just be a normal human being. It's been so long that I forgot how much fun it was." Mana then joined Isaac on his bed as she sat next to him.

"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, Mana. To be honest, I had fun too." Isaac gave his Dark Magician Girl a smile. "Kinda nice that I got to spend tonight with one of my most trusted monsters and best friend."

"That's why you're my master." Mana then gave Isaac a kiss on his cheek as she wrapped her arms around Isaac to give him a hug as she nuzzled her cheek against his face. Isaac just returned the embrace as he wrapped his arms around Mana and gave her a hug. Soon another person decided to make their presence known.

"Mana!! There you are. Do you know how much trouble you're in?"

Mana then broke her hug from Isaac as she looked at her teacher. "For god sakes, Mahad! Can't you just let me be?"

"Don't change the subject, young lady. You're in big trouble for not only neglecting your studies in magic, but also for sneaking out without my permission." said Mahad in a stern tone. "Do you realize how much trouble you've could have caused to both me and the master? You know that on this night, we must be careful between keeping the border between the spirit world and the real world from crossing paths."

"And I'm perfectly capable of making sure that doesn't happen!" shouted Mana. "Besides I spent the night with Isaac and not only was I watching over him, but he kept me safe. He also showed me how to be a normal girl, something that I haven't done in a long time. Not to mention that I wanted to escape from your boring lectures."

Mahad let out a stressful sigh as he rubbed his forehead with his hand. "I hope she didn't cause too much trouble, master. Mana can be a handful at times."

"Not at all, Mahad. To be honest, I kinda enjoyed her presence. She added some excitement for tonight's event." Isaac made sure to give Mana a smile.

"Well now, we must leave. Come along, Mana. The master may forgive, but I won't. Now let's return, the barrier between the spirit world and the real world is about to close." said Mahad as he opened up a portal for them to leave through.

"Alright." said Mana with disdain in her voice. "Bye Isaac, thanks for a wonderful time. I really enjoyed it."

"Anytime, Mana." Isaac gave her a salute.

Mana gave Isaac one final kiss as both she and Mahad stepped through the portal and returned back to the spirit world. The portal closed as Isaac was now all alone in his room. He then pulled out his deck and looked at his Dark Magician Girl card. Isaac noticed her giving him a wink which served that both she and Mahad had made it home safety. With that Isaac let out a yawn as he prepared himself to a goodnight sleep. Despite having to deal with some evil spirit that was bent on escaping, Isaac and Luna were able to stop them as well as he got to hang out with his Dark Magician Girl. Overall, tonight proved to be a win-win. With that Isaac then got into bed as he drifted off to dreamland.
