She's home again. Back in the same old town in her same old house. It is Octavia's least favorite time of the day and she's about to spend it with her same old friend. Well, maybe that part isn't so bad. "Same old- same old" really isn't her thing, but she can learn to enjoy it just this once.

My name is Octavia Harmonious Melody, and I am mentally deranged… No no, I assure you, I'm quite serious. For the past three years I have lived with a voice inside my head, a crazed, lunatic of a voice, who I, through the displeasure of living with for the past three years, have come to almost befriend...

Almost.

Now my childhood friend-turned-enemy, Vinyl Scratch, is inviting me to further my musical prowess by living under the same roof as her, and as much as I can barely stand the sight of her, she represents what may be my last chance at closure and sanity. The irony of which being that I'm sure she's already insane, if not pushing me towards it.
Although, to her credit, she's a nice enough mare, maybe if I could stop the voice in my head for a minute we could grow to become friends again…

Octavia has always been obsessed with the occult, specifically vampires. She dreams of being a creature of the night, soaring through the air, sucking the blood from her victims.That's all it ever was though, a dream.
Or at least it was until she met Vinyl Scratch. Now Octavia is the servant of the all powerful vampire. In return for services rendered, Vinyl will make Octavia's dream into a reality.

A reality Vinyl wants no part of, but she does have to admit, Octavia has her uses.

Though Scootaloo normally appears to be a happy and lively little filly, every once in a while she reacts in a way that catches other ponies attention. Especially the ponies she spends the most time with, Rainbow Dash and her friends, seems to take notice of these little things.

When she finally reacts in a way that cannot be ignored, it is up to Rainbow Dash to find out what terrible secret Scootaloo is really hiding.

Scootaloo feels a tightness in her gut as she witnesses Rainbow Dash soar through the sky. The filly doesn't understand why she feels different when she looks at Dash today. Her usual demeanor of compassion for her role model has evolved into something much greater.

Storms can be both of the physical and mental kinds, both hazardist in their own ways. One ravages the land, destroying homes and property and leaving a physical scar. The other ravages the mind and soul, sometimes leaving scars that can't be seen and hurt just as much.

Rainbow Dash is one of the toughest ponies in Ponyville and she got that title by not letting anyone see her hurt or get hurt. She is unprepared to face the pain of the past when it comes to dealing with the future; it will take the help of a long time friend to be able to move forward.

Scootaloo has been running from her own pain and troubles for a while now, unwilling to let anyone see the hurt she had suffered. Hiding her own tragic past, she lives a life of fear and on the edge of being caught by that painful past. Can her idol and friends help her see that it's ok to feel and stop running?

This takes place in the same 'universe' as the rest of my stories; The Adventures of the Cutie Mark Crusaders - Fillies on a Mission!, A 'Not So Simple' Simple Life , The Party Animal and the Bookworm, and A New Kind of Party. It's not required to read these other stories to understand this one but it would give you the full picture.

EDIT(12/2/14): It's come to my attention that some are displeased with the CMC chapters (both as a shipping and as a break in the FlutterDash story). I would like to take this moment to point out how this is a story about FOUR ponies and their growth, not just the older ones. I do understand how this can seem abrupt in change however and shall mark the chapters accordingly.
Next to the chapter numbers, I will place letters showing who the main focus will be on. FS = Fluttershy, RD = Rainbow Dash, SB = Sweetie Belle, and S = Scootaloo. 'All' will be used when all four are in the chapter and have equal importance to it.
Meanwhile, I will make and link blogs that correspond to whatever 'hiccup' readers have mentioned in the comments with reasons of why I wrote/did whatever in the story, so that it doesn't take up lots of room in the story or comments section. If you wish to talk/discuss anything on that particular topic, please see the corresponding blog about it. I do appreciate the comments and opinions though, and will try to respond properly to them.

Rainbow Dash is an extraordinary pony, not only the bearer of the element of loyalty, but she is also the best friends with the newest princess, can do Sonic Rainbooms and a possible future Wonderbolt.
She really is a brave pony, kicking drangons in the face, standing up to Nightmare Moon, Discord, and all the other villains. But there is some things she can't take, when she finds herself developing feelings for a certain Wonderbolt things begins to go down hill. And the feelings isn't so easy to cope with when she now sees the Wonderbolts more and more often.

(I have had this story in my head for some weeks now, so why not write it down? I think this is going to be a long ride guys, in my head the story is really long. Ouch, it is going to take a long time to write it all down. XD Uh, I hope you enjoy it, if you find any mistakes, tell me. I check the text several times when I correct the grammar, but I have a tendency to miss a lot of typos.)

Update: Sorry, but I think I'm going to cancel this story. I simply don't have the time and devotion to finish a story like this. I'm way more focused on my art and writing is just something I do once in a while. I'll maybe write some one-shots in the future, but not long stories like this. I'm no writer and I've never been. Sorry for never updating you guys who have been reading this. I hate doing this as it feels like I'm breaking a promise, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Can't just leave you all waiting for a new chapter that is never going to come. I apologize for not being able to produce said story and giving you guys false expectations. I believed I would be able to write a long story like this, but as seen, that is not the case.

For one mare, that is a question with only one answer. She has a life with no past, but also with no scars. Follow her through the pain of building anew, when everyone around her clings to the past and to hope. What can be wrought from the turmoil of loss and birth? Could it be... a soul?

Rainbow Dash is truly looking forward to celebrating Hearth's Warming Eve with Scootaloo. They have planned this for a year. Sometimes, however, the simplest of plans come to a folly and not everything goes as planned; things change, but the question remains: Is it for better or for worse?
