This story is a sequel to Knights of Ice and Crystal

Danger is looming on the Other Side! The Trolls of the Darkspear Tribe want to summon the Loa of the Grave to find answers. But instead of their Loa, they get the spirit of a pegasus, along with Former Death Knight Darren Houndslayer and his little pony protegé Eclipse. As a human, Darren is less than welcome in the lands of the Horde - while Eclipse, cut off from his family in the Crystal Empire, is trying not to succumb to the dark powers inside of him. They rush off to safer shores - but how safe are those really? Meanwhile, Twilight and her friends frantically look for a way to bring Darren, Eclipse and Levinia back home...

5th installment of the Twilight Goes to Dalaran series (but you can start here if you want to).
Knowledge of World of Warcraft is not necessary to understand the story.

The world of Equestria is one of magic and mystery. There are so many aspects and wonders hiding in plain sight, needing only one creature to bring these concepts and visions to life. Zecora is one such individual, turning the world of flora into a cascade of different potions. And the only way to discover more, is to test how the different ingredients work together. Such experimentation, however, isn't without consequences. A lesson Zecora will learn, with expansive results. Cover art is by snowpirate-101.

WOO, FEATURED! 18.1.2020

EDIT: Added a character cheat sheet in the bottom of this section due to requests.

The only thing that's known about changelings in general is that they came from the Badlands and that they eat love. Oh right, and that their queen is evil, cool, and certainly does not star in some of the wilder pony dreams.
Not much, is it?
The thing is, it's not as if they know too much themselves. For example, how many of them there really were? How many of them survived the invasion? How silly was it to attempt to disrupt princess Celestia's cake supply?
No one can fully answer such burning questions. Only one thing is for certain - they're now everywhere, and they all have their own stories to tell, some long, some short, some violent, some silly, some happy. Changelings all over the place.
Not every creature minds, though.

CHARACTER CHEAT SHEET:

--156,387--
156 - infiltrator, F, hive loyalist.
387 - warrior, M, knows strangely too much.
918 - infiltrator. F.

10013, 13887, 19441, 31214 - drones

--1988,9999--
1988 - infiltrator, M, in charge of the lumber camp lings, totally femboy looking.
9999 - currently the highest ranking drone in the hive, involuntary drone Jesus.
36658, 57999 - drone bark meister, drone bark padawan. Definitely not opiate dealers.
13415 - drone, second-in-command after 9999.
17070 - cooking drone, deaf.
20100 - moving pictures drone
54331, 74989, 33125, 65661 - drones

Idol Hooves holds a special place in Equestria. He's probably the only exiled changeling to serve in the Royal Guard, or at least, that's what he expects, as exiles don't really broadcast that fact. However, it's well known that Princess Celestia loves all of her little ponies, and her guards perhaps more so, and that makes it one of the best ways for a changeling to discreetly feed.

But how does a changeling even get there, let alone get exiled in the first place? For that matter, why would it ever go to Canterlot? Set a number of years before the series proper, before Luna’s redemption, Idol details how he was exiled, the ponies he’s met, and the series of misadventures that led him to joining the Royal Guard, and should continue a good ways into the series, as something of an alternate perspective.

Soon, he’ll have to deal with a boisterous new princess to serve and a royal wedding in the works bringing a third to power. Will his old instincts bring this new life crashing down around him? What precipitates Chrysalis’s ill-fated assault on Canterlot? Is it really so wrong for a changeling to enjoy good craftsmanship to an obsessive degree?

Going deep undercover, Shining Armor will have to enter a whole other realm to stop the strange disappearances that are seeing ponies vanish all over Equestria. Can he get to the bottom of things and come out the other side intact?

I won't lie, this story has been harder to give a title to, and describe, than it has been to write. I don't want to give it all away, because there are going to be quite a few twists and turns in here. At least one later-on character I will be leaving out of the tags, it is such a surprise.

Art by the wonderful Mix-up (link to their DA). Please head to their Deviant Art page and leave a nice comment.

Contains: Parasitization, transformation, gender (and sex) changing, a little roughhousing, mental conditioning, the strangest egg laying you will ever see (I have since made stranger), and a very confused Cadance.

This story is a sequel to Imbalanced: New Age

WT-FEATURED? 2.3.2020 (How did that happen?)

War is raging on the continent of Zebrica where a new warlord has risen, using immensely powerful magic to subjugate clans and countries.

In Equestria, conspiracies tying princess Celestia to Corrupted are running rampant, princess Luna is investigating an ancient alicorn legacy pertaining to entities called only 'the enemy' and 'the herald', and princess Twilight Sparkle is trying to keep Equestria together despite the rising panic.

In the Griffon Empire, both Black Ops and Imperial armies are in a losing battle against spreading Corrupted territories transforming the land.

And knowing nothing about any of that, there's Harriet, a young dragonpony in the Griffon Empire whose life is about to be shattered by a group of ponies seeking something from her father's hoard that would make all the previous threats to peace a small beer.

UPDATES: Hopefully monthly.

EDIT: Added AU tag, since this takes place some three hundred years (give or take) after Twilight's alipopcornification.
