For millennia Princess Celestia had ruled over the lands of Equestria in peace and harmony, and in doing so the ponies of Equestria have lived a thousand years of peace and prosperity with their mighty Princess being a beacon of harmony and peace. Now Celestia's reign nears a millennia and ponies look forward to another millennium of prosperity. That is until one event that would change Equestria forever bringing back ancient dark evils and terrible secrets that could reveal a hidden dark history of Equestria and their mighty Princess.

But it may also bring hope for one ancient alicorn...

Chapter Types
Normal Chapters: These are just normal chapters and are the main core of the story, and will progress the story.
Lore Chapters: These chapters will mainly go over concepts in more detail or concepts that I want to go over more. These chapters are completely OPTIONAL, you can skip these chapters and still understand what the story is about.
Flashback Chapters: These chapters will dive into the past of the three sisters and sometimes there will be large time jumps. While these chapters are optional, I would recommend them as they will really dive into the world, help define the sisters, and explore certain events.

Hello there! so just wanted to say that this story is more than likely going to have a very infrequent update schedule (if you could even call it that) and that I am sorry if there are long pauses. What happened to Starlight Glimmer being trapped inside the magical orb as it lowered into the vortex into the ground? Are the Mane 6 forever trapped in Tartarus? When a small filly calling herself Sonata Dusk emerged from the mysterious portal within the castle, Princess Luna expected many things. What she didn't expect was for the filly to claim that she was actually a siren, banished from Equestria a thousand years ago. Despite her initial surprise, Luna makes an unexpected decision, and takes the filly under her wing.

Several years later, with the impending return of an ancient evil, Luna sends Sonata off to the humble little town of Ponyville, in the hopes that she will be able to learn the true value of the magic of friendship.

But Sonata isn't quite keen on interacting with other ponies. After all, ponies would never accept a singing sea monster as a true friend... right?

Magic is real, and Derek is on the verge of unlocking its secrets. It doesn't matter that his best friend doesn't believe any of it, he'll still go along to his first real spell. Unfortunately for the two of them, the magic works a little too well.

Soon they're taken to a strange new world of supernatural horses, a world where intrigue and spellcraft are interwoven to an inescapable prison. An mysterious cult dedicated to the worship of the ancient Alicorns has finally brought two of the ancients back from banishment. Their spell didn't quite work out; they definitely expected the Old Gods to be a little... older.

If the two former humans want to have any hope of seeing their old world and old bodies again, they'll have to make quite an impression to their secret worshipers, or else find themselves at the mercy of the same Alicorn sisters who took over Equestria all those centuries ago.

That's only where their problems start. Growing up as a little pony in a town like Willowbrook might be the greatest challenge they've ever faced.

What made Cozy Glow evil?

That was the question that everypony would wonder whenever that peculiar name would be heard. Was it her cutie mark? Was it her parents? Was it both? Or was it something more?

A few nights before Twilight's coronation, the Princess of Friendship ponders those exact questions.

Then, there was a knock on her castle doors.

Note: Just a random idea I had. Just a heads up though, this is NOT canon with The Dawn of a New Mission, or ANY of its sequels, present or upcoming. This is a standalone fic, and NOTHING more!

Summer break is upon The School Of Friendship and every pony has plans of how to spend the time away from academics (Sans Twilight)

Starlight has plans, too. However they are ones that only Trixie knows of and even The Great And Powerful illusionist isn't totally aware of what Starlight plans to do upon releasing Cozy Glow from Tartarus.

This is a fun story that explores a theory I came up with for how Cozy Glow came to be and why she is the way she is. Enjoy!

Three months after defeating the combined forces of Chrysalis, Cozy Glow, and Tirek, Starlight holds a brief meeting with Twilight. The guilt of not being able to save Cozy Glow and the personal anger that she was given a second chance when Cozy wasn't causes Starlight to demand the filly's release. Twilight agrees to it, and accepts Starlight's proposal to take in the troubled filly.

Meanwhile, Twilight begins to deal more heavily with the oncoming minotaur threat, completing her plan with the gracious help of Sunburst. Anxiety, worry, and stress all weigh her down to the point of breaking completely.

Finally released from her imprisonment, Cozy Glow resists the encouragement and reformation pressed forward by Starlight. Increasingly frustrated and angered by her surroundings, she begins plotting her escape, using the knowledge and experience of her past mistakes and time imprisoned. However, everything changes when a new element, and new knowledge of the fate of her and Equestria, are introduced to her.
