Twilight had taken only a few minutes to run upstairs to get a light and make sure there was a long line still to greet Nightmare Moon before quickly moving back down towards the dance chamber, her head cocked to the side. Could it truly be so obvious? It took her only a few moments to find the cavern she'd found Nightmare Moon in, though it took her a few minutes to navigate to it. She looked around to make sure the alicorn was nowhere in sight, before she lifted up the rope and walked inside, leaving the party behind.
She stepped inside and turned the light on. The hall itself was lined with great crystals that seemed to glimmer with light when her light flashed over them. Within a few minutes the sound of the party disappeared behind her, as if the crystals surrounding her had swallowed the world. She glanced back, but didn't see any sign of the lights from the party. She gave another soft shudder and shook her head.
“Calm down. They're just a bit of caves. Nightmare Moon came down here. If it wasn't safe, she'd... okay, right, alicorn. What's safe for her is not necessarily... ugh, you can do this!” she said firmly.
She came to a split in the path and looked around, blinking. The right led to another long hall of jewels, but the left had cart tracks and a few decaying carts. She nudged one of the carts and let out a shriek as it raced off into the darkness, soon followed by a crashing sound. “Well, buck. Which way do I go?” she asked herself, looking around. “Tracks or path. Okay, the carts aren't new so Nightmare Moon likely isn't using them. But then if she's walking, would she walk on the place with the path or...” The words trailed off and she lowered the light.
True enough, there were hoof steps leading off towards the path without cart tracks. “Well, that certainly makes it easier.” She started following the hoofs. After a few moments they began to become far more dense, as if Nightmare Moon had come through here dozens of times. She nervously chewed on her lower lip, looking around nervously as she walked. “Hello?” she called out softly, but received no response. She sighed softly and continued walking.
More and more crystals began to appear as she walked, the shards sticking out through the walls and ceiling of the great chamber. She reached out and touched one, gently stroking her hoof across it. It didn’t feel magical. But then, she was only an earth pony. She continued walking.
She came to a large room filled with hundreds of crystal clusters, surrounding her on all side and jutting out of the walls, floor and ceiling. Like great blades they seemed to surround on all sides, with four exits in the room. Again she followed the hoof steps, leading her to another tunnel.
Then she heard breathing. Raspy breathing. She froze in place, listening to the sound for a moment. Her heart began to beat faster. She galloped forward, racing through the tunnel, not even noticing when she cut her hoof across one of the crystals. Finally, she stepped out into a great glowing chamber.
Her eyes fell on the prone and chained form of Celestia. The great alicorn laid there, her body wrapped in chains and wearing dark, metallic armor similar to that which Tirek wore, covering her hooves, crown and neck. “Hello, sister,” Celestia mumbled, not even looking up.
“Celestia?” Twilight said softly.
The alicorn turned her head back, her eyes going wide. “W-who… who are you?”
“Ummm, Twilight Glow.”
“Why are you here? What are you doing here? You shouldn’t… how?”
“I… I found you,” she said softly. “Celestia, you have to help us! Nightmare Moon, she… she’s… Celestia?”
The alicorn turned away, her eyes closing. “I… I am sorry, my little pony. I… I have failed you...”
“Failed… me?” she said softly.
“I… I cannot stop her. I tried. Every… plan I had made has been undone. I thought I...”
Twilight took a step forward. “You mean the elements? I know they can’t be used but… there has to be another way.”
The alicorn closed her eyes. “Perhaps this is my punishment. No, dear pony, the elements were… not my only plan.”
Twilight’s eyes went wider. “They… they weren’t?”
“No. But they were… the only one that would work. Sunset has gone into the mirror, gone for good. The dragon lord has… given in to his own greed for our lands. And… and...” Celestia looked down at her bindings. “These bindings… were once meant to contain my sister. To hold her captive and helpless, so… I… wouldn’t...” She shuddered. “So I would never have to… send her away again.”
Twilight blinked. “Wait… you… but, but Tirek. These are used to hold Tirek as well. You… created them?”
The alicorn nodded, shame on her face. “They were never… I only wished to… to hold her captive. To keep her with me, forever. By my side...”
“But she’s crazy! She’s had me whipped, she’s drained ponies, she’s hurt so many others! The sun hasn’t risen in months, we need you!”
“I… I can no longer help you, I am so, so sorry,” Celestia said softly.
“But you have to, we need you! The elements, maybe they can do something?”
“The elements?” the alicorn asked, giving a light chuckle. “They were… they were my final gambit. If I could not contain her, talk with her, control her… then I would send my student to purify her… but when… when the moment came...”
“They were broken and destroyed,” Nightmare Moon’s voice came from behind her. Twilight turned to see the alicorn standing in the entrance.
She took a step back. “Y-your highness, I… I was...”
“Do not try to lie to me, bard. I have heard all that you have done. Begging my sister to save you? Pathetic,” the alicorn said before stepping forward. “She is weak and frail, only a pittance of her former strength yet remains.” She nudged the mare with a hoof, drawing a grunt. “Look upon her. She thought to make me in such a state, bound and helpless. A trophy for her to stand over and laugh.”
“Sister, I never--”
“You bound me away for a thousand years for the audacity of desiring to be seen! To be loved!” the mare roared, making the crystals in the chamber shake. “You tore me from my very kingdom! And then… then when my time was up I find… I find you have removed me from their hearts completely. Made me little more than a bad memory, a dream, a… a nightmare to their hearts.” She growled and took another step forward. “And you believed… you believed I would just stand for this? To allow you to cast me aside yet again and hold me as your prisoner? A token of your power?”
“No, sister. I never wanted any of this. I never wanted to send you away. You were out of control and I--”
“Silence. I have heard these excuses a million times. And I will hear them a million more. I did not come here to speak with you. I came to speak with my bard.” Her eyes whipped around to Twilight.
The earth pony eeped, freezing in place. She was grabbed in dark purple magic and dragged to the mare. “Now, my bard. Do you not see? This is the mare upon which you put your hopes and dreams. A broken mare who has not the strength to rise up against me. A mare who, when the time came, forsake each and every one of you.”
Twilight stared, her eyes wide. “I… I never...”
“I know exactly of what you had done. Did you think me a foal, that I would not place some form of detection in case one came to see my sister?” Her eyes glowed with a dark, angry light. “But I will allow you to remember this. But you will never, ever speak to another of what you saw here...”
Twilight yelped as she was surrounded in magic. She stared up into the purple glowing eyes of the alicorn. “Y-your highness...”
“You will obey.”
Pain shot through Twilight’s body. It lasted only a second, leaving her standing there, stunned, as she gazed up at the mare. “What… what did you do?”
“I have bound your tongue. Try to speak of her. Of our sister. Where is she now?”
“She is--” Pain shot through her tongue, paralyzing it. She whimpered and covered her mouth, staring up with wide, pained eyes. “Mmmfffff!”
“Well?”
She whimpered softly, shaking her head. “I-I can’t,” she said weakly.
“Good. Then for your disobedience, that will be your punishment. You will bear the knowledge of what you’ve seen. Of what your… once great and beloved ruler has become. And then...” she leaned in closer. “You will never be able to tell anypony. You will not be able to talk, write, mime, anything to allow ponies to know. Do you understand?”
Twilight nodded, tears forming in her eyes. “Y-yes… yes your highness.”
Nightmare Moon grabbed the earth pony in her magic, before glancing back. “Goodbye… sister.”
Twilight whimpered as she was hauled back. “Your highness, I--”
“We know exactly what you were doing. You hoped to free our sister, to have her rise up against us. But that will never happen. Our sister is broken, Equestria is ours. All of her plans have failed.”
Twilight nodded, closing her eyes. “Of… of course. Your highness...”
“And we have allowed you too much freedom, bard.”
She cringed.
“For the time being, you are not to leave the castle grounds. If I catch you walking through these chambers again, I will have your dragon flayed. For the first transgression. For… every future transgression...” She paused. “Perhaps your friends.”
Twilight gasped. “Y-your highness, please, Spike is just, my friends, they--” She found herself staring into the eyes of the ruler.
“We have allowed you much, Twilight Glow. But you have gone too far this time. We have no desire to harm thee. But your friends… they have no such protections. Understand?”
Twilight nodded slowly, the tears welling up in her eyes. “Y-yes. Of course… y-your highness.” Gently she was placed back on the floor.
The two walked in silence, their hooves echoing across the stone floor. Finally, they made it back to the dance floor. Twilight kept walking, though, ignoring the sounds of fun and merriment around her. She barely even acknowledged her friends when they called out to her, merely shaking her head and making her way away from them, from all of it.
Finally she was able to collapse onto her bed, closing her eyes and sobbing into her pillow. This was it. There was no hope. No escape. There was only Nightmare Moon, now and forever. She sobbed and cried into her pillow, holding it tightly to her face.
------
Nightmare Moon stared into the mirror, gazing at her own reflection. Finally she let out a loud scream of anger before her horn glowed, shattering the mirror and sending the shards scattering across the ground. She then sat down, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Why… why dear sister… why… can’t I just… win?”
------
Above the throne, in a small orb of magic, small pieces of rock gave a small, gentle spark of light.
...Well Twilight... I want to say that it's going to be fine... but... you said it yourself, you were trying to get a pony to overthrow the ruler who has proven time and time again to be much more powerful and way more ruthless than you could ever be.
And instead of doing the smart thing and telling someone before you went to play hero, you did the stupidest thing you could have ever done, and showed Nightmare Moon that you really were trying to overthrow her and that absolutely nothing you say can be trusted.
With Discord coming and no elements, Equestria is screwed. Also, Twilight just needs to pursue the elements already. I doubt a horn is needed for friendship after all.
That seal Nightmare Moon did on Twilight reminds me of what Danzo did to Sai from Shipuuden.
Wooooooooww. That was... that was really heart-clenching. The fact that Nightmare Moon didn't do anything more to Twilight shows how much she cares for her, and how even at the end, she feels that she has lost once again due to the fact that she must be so disciplinary to a pony she thought she had friendship from. Poor Luna. And poor Twilight.
(REALLY good story by the way! Absolutely fabulous!)
Sunbutt, Twilight, and Moonbutt all need a hug.
7750163 reread the end of the chapter again.
Not much I can say other than excellent job on the exchanges, emotional content and future season set-up in all the right places. Certainly feeling bad for all three of them. And, yeah, when Discord returns, hoo-boy. They're DEFINITELY going to need the Elements with HIM. How much do you want to wager that Nightmare Moon is going to want to find potential Element Bearers that she KNOWS she can trust, only for the Elements to reject her chosen would-be bearers ? At any rate, I will definitely be looking forward to more of this as soon as time and inspiration will allow.
a cliffhanger...
DAMN YOU!
Seriously, though... I'm seriously craving MOAR Twilight Glow and Nightmare Moon. You know they wanna bang.
[CUTSCEEN]
Sorry cloppers! Not today!
Interesting wording, but ultimately, she technically is a conquerer. Twilight well, is aiming for the survival of everyone, but fear only goes so far. Celestia was loved, either way, one breeds different aspects in your subjects. And here, is where you lost twilight forever trying to help you, being potentially one you've cowed. Sooner or later, the dog you've cowed will strike back, when there's nothing left to lose.
7750497
I'd say that Twilight lost Nightmare Moon's trust just as much as vice versa by going behind her back and basically letting it slip that she would rather see Nightmare Moon defeated after all this time of getting to know one another, and even bonding to a degree. What Nightmare did to Twilight was kind of harsh, but what Twilight did to Nightmare was straight-up stabbing her in the back.
No, don't tell anybody, just fall right into an obvious trap. Dumass. Like Rainbow said... she deserves everything she gets... her friends don't though.
7750535 How often has she been spied on before this? A few if memory serves. Sadly, well, she's danged if she does, or if she doesn't. Because of how she cemented her rule. She's alienated the loyal to celestia, and her own are only trusted thanks to those same. All things considered, What reason does twilight have anymore to respond to her outside threats. And she may simple stop being their friends to remove the same leverage she has. Doing that, you've got nothing left to lose, and only one way futilely out.
And then you get the sad aspect of all. You could have earned twilight's undying gratitude, and loyalty here, free celestia, take her power, seal it, you have a free celestia, and a happy bard. And you still have your rule.
7750497
A dog might, sure. But a pony? Sure, they might bite when there's nothing left to lose, but in this particular case, Twilight is very aware — or at least believes — that there is nothing to gain, either. Celestia can't/won't do anything. She knows that Tirek will just ruin everything. The Elements — the only plan Celestia had that would even work, per her own words — are destroyed (for what that might worth). That's all she wrote; Twilight's done.
7750535
The only thing with this is that Nightmare Moon might well perceive this as a betrayal on Twilight's part, but this is not so; Twilight was never Nightmare Moon's friend, and that much is obvious in her actions throughout the story. All she ever wanted to do was get Celestia back; everything else she's ever done was to try and protect others. The story is being told from Twilight's point of view, so we obviously cannot see what Nightmare sees, but it's plain that anything that was interpreted as friendship from Twilight was misinterpreted. The Gala is going swimmingly, at least, so that will at least satisfy her desire to be liked by her subjects, but what Nightmare Moon really wants is to be loved, so what will be interesting is to see what will happen once Twilight starts her depression spiral and what Nightmare will do because of that.
7751359 the trope itself is what I meant. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheDogBitesBack that one, sooner or later, even the most kind herbivore, can be pushed into an act that they see no other way out. And herbivores are scary when pushed into a corner, much more so than any other particular. Because they will go through whatever is the threat, no matter how daunting.
Personally I find the chapter a bit short... It actually feels more like a collection of small scenes from a chapter. The importance of what has taken place, emotionally and plot wise, would warrant a full chapter.
Also, at some point, someone needs to explain to Nightmare Moon why ponies won't forget about Celestia. It's literally like she stole Equestria's mom or grandma, nobody would give up on relatives that easy.
Also-also, the transition to NMM was great, but with no preamble... The character switch was jarring. Not to a great degree, but enough to make me want more done with that scene.
I'm not trying to be a downer, just communicating what I feel, so please don't think I mean to offend.
Poor Twilight...but she was kinda of an idiot to going without a solid plan in mind.
JHow is she going to publish that book now? She can't do any book tours or interview because it will mean mentioning Celestia. Is there a certain wording she is allowed to use like "former leader" or "the former era"?
Also if Twilight make a statement about Celestia but replaces her name with pseudo name like "Bright Dawn", will the seal be activated? If she mentions Celestia's predicament in the form of an metaphorical fable, will the seal be activated?
I can't wait for the sequel! Are we going to see Discord next or maybe you'll switch up the order of the villains? I can see Starlight Glimmer using the situation right now to coerce the vulnerable members of Equestria into her cult...
7751405
It all depends, NMM could easily outwait it. She could just stick with her guns and in generation or two she is all that ponies would know about. In few more generations she could as belowed and few generations after Celestia would be mere tale for foals. Ponies would know nothing but night and they would hide from the odd ball in the sky that is hot, bright and potentially dangerous. Then again i do not think this story will go that way.
7750813
That is idealistic way of seeing this, setting Celestia free after it was STARKLY proven that even her most belowed pony jumped ships at merest glimpse of day returning and then only to find her again begging her greatest enemy to throw her down?
NMM did the only sensible thing and silenced her, and it was the only thing to do. Twilight is... well she IS an idiot who cannot see greater whole and has no heart for NNM. Imagine if she had had decency to ask Celestia to explain her side of it all and maybe ask why she did what she did all those years ago instead of going "Come back! NMM is insane!"
NMM is not loved as Celestia is and it was just rubbed on her face, likely by person who she holds most dear. Not to mention how she did it at the gala, tainting all the good things related to it for NMM.
Very late edit:
Remember how indignant she was when her loyaly was questioned? Could she ever be trusted again after such boysterity and then this act of treason?
7752059 I'm not saying its wrong, but in the end, she's repeating the same crud, because of that initial how she managed to garner the throne. Same crud, different day. Celestia is all these ones have known, and moon basically went feudal lord to representative ruler. That kind of step back is a step backwards, and not one most would care for. Either way, its going to go poorly down the road, so im waiting patiently for the dark/sad/tragedy tag to be added down the way.
Wow Twilight nice move. And now you have lost what little control you had on the situation. Nightmare probably won't ever trust you fully again, and apparently her spying on you was fully understandable with how you are acting and how fake you were to her face, apparently the entire time. What NMM did to you was a mercy compared to what she could have done. Here's hoping they manage to overcome this. Can barely contain myself for the next season It is gonna be very interesting seeing what happens next.
Late edit: This is made even more sad because this NMM seems a lot less unstable and evil than a tyrant, infact this seems to be more Luna than one might think. Yeah it's a very short tempered Luna and a very firm and strict one. But unlike the original NMM she does not revel in cruelty and the despair and pain of others. In short she does not seem to be a megalomaniac. She simply seems to be a ruler wich infact have her subjects best interests at heart and is willing to pay the price of being viewed as a monster for the greater good in her eyes. I am not saying all the things she is doing is right by any means. But this is not an evil monster. It's a very shattered and broken Luna that have not come to terms with what happened 1000 years ago. And still views her sister as the bane of her existance. All of Celestias counter measures surely did not help her case in looking to be the better sister. Infact it kind of vilifies her even more in Luna's eyes than she already was.
and, there's our favorite book horse.
Saw that coming four miles away...
Keep going! ;)
Nightmare Moon, do you want to know how to make the most expensive painting in the world worthless? You hang it at the foot of your bed so it's the last thing you see at night and the first you see in the morning. At first you will admire it, the gaze at it and then simply look though it as it just becomes another part of the wall. All beauty and value lost for how common it has become, as worthless to you as the wall itself is.
The same is true of your night, while it is beautiful in many respects, a never ending night will simple become... normal. Nothing special, nothing beautiful. It will be worthless.
Kinda rude for Twilight to talk crap about Nightmare Moon like that to Celestia, like she's not THAT'S terrible. No "thank goodness you're okay, everypony's fine but we all miss you." Jeez.
7756798
Pretty much the biggest problem so far with the story, Everyone is constantly talking shit about Nightmare Moon at every opportunity. Heck, just a bit ago, Moondancer was like, "Don't trust Tirek, he's as insane as Nightmare Moon...!" Fuckin' bitch.
And Twilight calling Nightmare Moon insane? Pot, meet kettle. I think the mare who flung an alicorn, who she can't stop clarifying how evil and dangerous she is, into a wall is the much crazier one. And of course, the evil and cruel Nightmare didn't even punish her for it. Jeez, ain't she just the absolute worst? Hitler watch out, we have a new evil tyrant for the history books.
Sarcasm aside, it's like the author is having characters talk about Nightmare Moon like she's the anti-christ, but they aren't having her act in a horrific enough manner to warrant it. It's like, either tone down how much hate ponies are spewing, or make Nightmare Moon actually deserving of that hate. Have her kill someone or legit torture a pony, because as of right now, the worst thing she did was the whipping, most everything else has been a bluff. The ponies she drains generally deserve it or have good reasons to be drained, and the gryphon was an asshole who the author intentionally made unlikable so we wouldn't hold his snapped wings against Nightmare Moon.
good chapter, though I half expect for twilight to fall get hurt and pass out right after see the princess and nightmare moon show up and blame her sister for twilight getting hurt....
me think nightmare moon may be in love with twilight deep down inside and want her only to focus on her alone,
AAAAAAAAA NOOOOO WHY DO I HAVE TO BE CAUGHT UP?!!! I want to read MORE!!! This is the worst part about coming into a story halfway. I hope dearly that you continue it, although the fact that you've written so much already gives me greater confidence than I might have with a new story. You are SUCH A GOOD WRITER! Occasional grammatical errors aside (and who doesn't have a few of those), you have a beautiful grasp of storytelling. Your pacing is excellent, your characterization on point for each of the characters, you dialogue is believable and your exposition paints the scenes clearly in my mind. I love how you're working in the different aspects from the original canon, like explaining the crystal caverns in a way that explains why Twilight and Cadence couldn't teleport out after Chrysalis imprisoned them. Nightmare Moon is an interesting balance of the darkness we saw in the opening and the real Luna peeking through; I can't wait to see how you represent whatever it is that's tainting her (assuming you're going with show canon there, that something else was corrupting Luna by using her anger to transform her into Nightmare Moon). And I love how much Twilight makes sense as an earth pony; she still has so many of her traits from her unicorn canon, but the avid inspirational author bit explains it in ways that the don't require her to need magic.
In summary: excellent, excellent story so far. And I appreciate how clean you're keeping it, too; it's very hard to find a fanfiction of ANY type that is both excellently written and not, er, lined with questionable mature content. I can't wait to read more! Thank you for sharing your lovely story, I'm excited to see how it continues!

In Twilight and the others defense, while they are being overly negative towards Nightmare Moon even though she isn't that bad, they really can't know how good they have it as far as tyrants go. Equestria has had the same benevolent ruler for the last thousand years without incident, so of coursed they think Nightmare Moon is the personification of evil, they have no other ruler to compare her to. Moondancer thinks Moon is as bad as Tirek, but how is she supposed to know he'd be a thousand times worse? He wouldn't even bother governing and wouldn't have any desire to protect ponies, he would have drained her and everyone else until there was no magic left and probably not even bother moving the sun or moon. It would be the end of the world, but no one realizes that.
All that being said, yes, these ponies are stupid. Just shut your mouth Twilight, you are just making things worse.
Sorry, but this makes no sense to me as a reaction to what Celestia said. It's a completely different topic from what Celestia was saying. Now, I suppose it could be a spontaneous outburst, but that also seems strange as "crazy" all but contradicts what Twilight has been saying to everyone about how much NMM is improving. Has she been lying to everyone? Twilight has mentioned several times that it's been weeks since she whipped anyone, and she's getting better, kinder, etc. She recently got evidence that the death-collar on Spike was a complete fake right from the beginning, though we haven't seen her definitively conclude as much. I could have believed that Twilight would exaggerate the severity of the situation due to her emotions if Celestia asked her how things were going (though again, she's been banging the "getting better" drum for so long even that seems like a bit of a stretch), but as I noted already, this was an unprompted outburst.
And, really, she is in enough trouble without badmouthing NMM. Just being down there is enough to prompt the silence punishment. Just saying "we need the day back" is enough to get an emotional response out of NMM. Twilight contradicting her own mantra for added drama just seems unnecessary.
It reminds me of when Moondancer said NMM and Tirek were equally bad, when she had literally just got done with the research showing he is worse. And Twilight, the person she said this to, knows NMM wants to rule and cares about her subjects, and she knows Tirek wants power and doesn't care about anything else (except for ice cream).
Truly excellent work so far, loving it.
Will season 2 take place in it's own story or just be a continuation of this one?
7751657
Best way to get around being unable to divulge a secret is to fail to keep it. But this Twilight is not likely crafty enough to do more than angst about it. She's enough of a dumbass that she ran up to Princess Celestia and begged her to save them. That mare's about as sharp as a wet sock.
Seriously what did she expect? Celestia to be all, "What, really? Wow thanks for telling me. I've just been sitting down here on this Snootie defeating macguffin for the past entire year because I didn't know anypony wanted me to save them."
>>@Maskinos
...good story, btw
Well, it's nice to get a good reminder that Nightmare Moon is evil, not just misunderstood. Wasn't entirely sure what was being intended for a bit. And thank you, because I was having trouble trying to harmonize Twilight's insistence that Moonbutt was getting better with vivid memories of how she purged the old order like every dictator in history.
Alright, so we'll need a new set of elements of harmony (probably the canon crew) and a daring adventure to redeem the tragic tyrant. We've got them set up, though I suspect we'll have trouble with Dashie, based on how she's acted recently. I can see that backfiring on her poorly.
And to be clear, I am quite enjoying the work. You tell a good story!
7833321 that's what I ment
7902925 You are right that using this logic Hitler could be seen as such a person but he was not such a political figure or leader when he was a kid nor did he protect his subjects very well. Luna on the other hand/hoof protected her subjects at night from nightmares and monsters while her sister didn't do that and how was she looked at for it? With disdain, fear and hatred not with thanks or respect. I am not trying to justify her actions but saying Hitler and Luna are both just misunderstood is wrong too. It is just so that Luna was the leader of equestria with her sister for a longer time then Hitler was the Führer. (Still not defending both of them but Celestia has a big role in Lunas transformation in NMM. She could for exempal taken her sisters fears for real instead of ignoring them.) She also helped defeat how many treats to her Subjects with her sister? Sombra, Discord Griffins, Dragons, Tirek and so many others and her subjects seemed to have forgotten that. But her plan for eternal night was stupid. I would have just not raised the moon at night and stopped protecting my subject from treaths and nightmares at night and watched as they were killed or couldn't rest. And if they or Celestia complained about it I would have retorted with "Why should I work or waste my energy and magic if no one appreciates my work and the protection we provide. They fear me so I will not help them until they learn that it´s not me they should fear." But Luna is a more spontaneous doer of things. But I can understand what led to her becoming Nightmare Moon that much is clear to me. And unlike Hitler when the elements of harmony rid her of the nightmare she felt and saw why she was wrong and wanted to repent for her actions (tantabus). Yes some things are certanly the same for them both but how they reacted to situations and what they wanted, there goals where different.
So now that I wrote that I just want to say that yes while she wanted to bring nighttime eternal, she also isn't entirely at fault for it. Celestia sees most things as self solving and doesn't do anything to prevent or solve them (Sombra, Her sister going mad , Discord, Tirek or Chrysalys everytime she depended on Twilight or someone else to solve it for her). She just wanted to be loved and that her work got the appreciation it deserved. So and now I start reading again have fun
sincerely your Snowy Starfield
I require more. This story is fantastic!
Keep it up!
Please update... every time I see a story die it makes a fluttercry.
hey i really like the story cant wait for more
I'm almost sad that I caught up to this. Keep up the good work :)
I just caught up on this i am quite enthralled with it.
Totally lovin' this and now I'm gonna check out your main fics. If this one was so good, I have high hopes for your Avatar series as well!
It's kinda sad, but I may not have noticed this story if Dragonalias hadn't linked and recommended it in his author notes of his story... Gonna have to thank him for that...
Imagine Sunset coming back, and finding Equestria to be controlled by the night.
Season 1, check.
... Sunset Shimmer mentioned. Hmm ...
Will we be seeing EqG in the future? What will sci-earth human Twilight be like -- will she still be studying magic? Or is she now strictly an A.P. student on the college track that has been called to be the principal's assistant to help run the school in her spare time :-)
OHHHHHHHHH SHE FUCKED IT SHE FUCKED IT SO BAD
