Just going to say, you really, really need to find a better balance for your chapter length. 70k words for one chapter is quite frankly ridiculous, especially where there are plenty of places that chapter can be divided for easier reading.
HOLY FAUST!
Who in their right mind releases an EIGHTY-THOUSAND WORD CHAPTER?!
What the fuck, Humanity?! There is NO way that I can parse this and read it. None at all. It would take me an uninterrupted time span of around 4 1/2 hours. And that's the lower end. I don't have that kind of time for one chunk.
4367876 Don't look at me like I do this on purpose. When my fingers reach the keyboard, I have little control. I just let my mind guide my fingers. If you cannot read this in one sitting, that is fine. I would view you as mad if you tried.
Screencap the thing or something if you need to take a break. It's far easier than you think to make sure you know where you left off.
Dude. 79.4k words in a chapter is overkill. You should really attempt to keep it below 30k words per chapter.
4367802 Journals don't work like that, especially when it documents what happened in a single day. Even I'm shocked by just how long this got. As I said in several responses, screencap the spot where you left off. You can just use your browser's search function to find the line you left off at. Use the Ctrl F function.
Not only is this chapter overly long, you went full Nietzsche on us with the "oh how humanity sucks" horses--t. You basically said that it doesn't Mayer what good progress humanity has made, all of it has to be thrown under the bus because of the assholes. FUCK. THAT. That's just being a META-asshole! You MISANTHROPIC PRICK.
Maybe if our species had superstrength, flight, and magic, maybe our lives would be damn near utopian too! Since they are not, and pretty much everything on the planet has tried to kill our species for centuries, we don't have the luxury of living in "harmony with nature"! Don't try to act like the Native Americans didn't do terrible stuff. They had frequent and bloody wars with each other. They sold each other into slavery. They would drive buffaloes off of cliffs so they would shatter on the ground below and they could pick up the choice used pieces of meat. EVERYONE has been a jerk to everyone else at some point in history! There's not a single species in the entire universe that is completely without doing some bad stuff in their history.
And don't try to tell me animals don't do terrible things to their own kind. Ant colonies will go to war with each other and enslave each other. Monkeys will cannibalize each other. Dolphins rape. To take your sanctimonious, misanthropic, holier-than-thou attitude and SHOVE IT along with this story and this overly long chapter!
Oh, come on, 80,000 words isn't that much to read. I actually enjoyed this chapter.
"However, Twilight seemed far less pleased at the thought. She then practically yelled while waving her hooves back and forth as she took a few steps away from our friend, “No! Absolutely not! I’m done with science! I’m sticking with good old magic from now on!” "
I'm done.
Gelatin or gelatine (from Latin: gelatus meaning "stiff", "frozen") is a translucent, colorless, brittle (when dry), flavorless solid substance, derived from collagen.
Collagen /ˈkɒlədʒɨn/ is the main structural protein of the various connective tissues in animals. (The name collagen comes from the Greek kolla meaning glue and suffix -gen denoting producing.
Twi..Why does the gelatin taste like my hoof?
Wondered why I needed to order the ingredients from a Griffin restaurant..
you made me cry just by looking at the word count on both new chapters and they weren't happy tears or sad tears they were tears of rage
Dat chapter length....guess I'll be busy for a while
70k words is fine for me. Overuse of "retort" and "cheeky/cheekily", however. Massively overused.
six slices of bed huh I nvr thought james being a wood eater
but other than that and a few others I cannot seem to find good job
4367892
For a bit of perspective, this chapter plus the next one roughly equate in length to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
I've gotten to the point where I don't fully read the chapters anymore, I skim over them to get the gist because so much is unnecessary filler.
If I may make a comment without evoking any hate.
While I can see where your view on humanity is coming from I partially disagree. While there is much bad in the world there is also much good. For example, I personally think war is inevitable and a very necessary part of humanity. While war sounds nice on paper I can't even begin to imagine the horrors of it. My counter argument to my own statement is that while nations may war each other for different reasons, just or unjust, many soldiers fight for their loved ones, their nation, and for the ones who cannot defend themselves. I'm honored that they would lay down their lives for me and sad that I cannot return the favor. Don't get me wrong there are exceptions to these statements. War rant complete.
Now about nature.
I personally, and this by no means reflects anybody else or am I stating that my way is the right way, believe that animals were placed on the Earth for our use. I am appalled at some of the different methods we use them and dare I say abuse this power. But, I think that mankind will eventually see and improve their errors. We always have. Whether it be weapons, production, or anything else. We are an adaptive species with many downfalls but we always rise from the ashes stronger and wiser than before. In regards to your nuclear statement. Mankind will probably blow themselves up one day. But, as I said before about being adaptive, we will survive and have learned from it. We have an insationable desire for knowledge. Quite frankly I'm proud of that trait. All in all I believe we will learn as we always do.
Please please please don't take offense to what I have said. I medley provided an agreement for mansions for everyone to ponder on.
Keep up the good work and your chapters are a bit much to read XD
Looks like Discord strikes again for a couple of comments.
Alright, I think I want to speak for both parties. Starting with the humans.
First off, the Native Americans weren't killed off by the American Colonists. It's what the Colonists brought that killed alot of the Natives.
I assume everyone remembers the "Black Death". The main subject is "diseases". Most of the Colonists were immune to the diseases that still lingered within Europe. I'll assume you know where I'm getting at. The Colonists brought those diseases with them, introducing them to these diseases that caused an outbreak. Back then, diseases were treated as "Curses" or "Punishments" or etc. So, science was lacking.
Another thing, I have a hunch that the Colonists didn't kill the Natives. Maybe there were some misunderstandings, but I HIGHLY doubt it was an intentional murder. However, I have little doubt that the British Soldiers that came onto the American lands when they tried confiscating the Colonist's weapons and take over the colonies, I bet they also had some run-ins with the Natives and were attacked as a result, assuming they were part of the Colonist's.
Let's also not forget, the Colonist's had no intentions on bringing harm to the Natives, or their land. The Natives cooperated with the Colonists, not against them. But I will not say they have not been mistaken for enemies. They were humans, and like all humans, we do what we can to correct them and build stronger foundations.
Now, aside from that, chapter lengths is not what makes the story good. Skimming through large chapters is like skimming through a long recipe in a cook book. Skimming through the cook book creates a half-baked(pardon the pun) scenario of the whole thing. In other words, don't judge a book by it's cover, in this case, chapter length.
You know at first I thought this story was pretty good and I enjoyed reading it no matter how long it takes to read, Now that I read the latest chapter. Things have gone down hill with this stupid realations with rarity. Love does not work like that, at all. Heck I have never dated and I know shit like this does not work, unless you make it so that rarity gets way to jealous and does something about it, or she actually moves on in order to move along the story. I actually let this slide at some point, and then you just made it worse and worse and worse. Plus with all this humanity bashing, wierd unrealistic reactions to situations that make my brain hurt and there has not been any good process to the story is so damn long, I am sadden to say no more to this story.
Anniversary party!
Ahh Mankind... What a clusterfuck. Mankind is kinda fucked up with War, Hate, Racism, Xenophobia, and Murder. OH and Rape, can't forget that shit. can ya tell I strongly dislike Mankind?
*reads the authors notes*
*looks outside the window*
I predict a very big shit-storm coming
Liked the chapter, skimed the humans are the devil part that had a lot of this: https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/the-texas-sharpshooter (read the link) (keep in mind this is my view)
"I know this is going to sound very bizarre, but I feel a very strong urge to write this despite what I am thinking of being virtually impossible. If you who is reading this happens to be a human from the planet known as Earth and have a positive or at least tolerant view on the state of Earth’s human population, I highly recommend skipping the next…um…..thirty-eight paragraphs since it is very likely you will find my words to be highly offensive.
“I should warn you now… I don’t have many good things to say about it. I’m not even sure of where to start.” I spoke with a sigh, my head bowed.
“It’s OK. Take your time. I know this isn’t an easy subject for you to think about.” Lyra spoke with a rather sympathetic gaze.
I took a deep breath to gather my composure while also trying to find a starting point. With so much to complain about, it was difficult to find a spot to start from. “Well… I guess I can start with… Well, you can’t go wrong with anything involving war.”
“Oh, that… Well… What can you tell me about that?” Lyra asked while looking noticeably worried.
I thought my words over carefully. Just thinking of such things was putting me in a sour mood. “It is no exaggeration that there have been countless wars on Earth over the centuries. I’m honestly surprised the human race has not gone extinct yet with how often they kill each other. Even now, there are likely wars raging somewhere in the world for rather pointless reasons. I sometimes wonder if these wars only exist because many humans just really find pleasure in watching others die.”
Lyra was clearly unnerved by those words. “Finding pleasure in…death? What… I can’t even…”
“I wish I was lying. Some men just want to watch the world burn. And what is more, deadly weapons, weapons of mass destruction, have been developed in recent decades capable of wiping out entire cities. And from what I understand, there are so many all over the world that there is enough of them to wipe out all life on the planet several times over. And they continue to develop more. Why do you suppose they do that when just using them will spell doom for the human race?” I continued on, wondering exactly how Lyra would take my words.
My friend was silent for a moment, her eyes glancing around showing she was trying to find a response. “Uh… Well… I…honestly can’t see a possible reason behind it. No, there is no logical reason behind that. Why make enough of them to wipe out the entire world? That makes no sense. Does the human race really want to destroy itself?”
I let out a long sigh and shook my head slowly. “In all honesty… I do think humanity on Earth is suicidal with how obsessed with death, destruction, and war it has become. Even more so in recent years. It is the most dominant interest in virtually all forms of media. There are even books, video games, and films that delve into what the Earth would be like if all the weapons of mass destruction were used. A post-apocalyptic scenario. And the sad truth is…that will happen one day. Probably not within my lifetime, but it is very likely it will happen.”
“It will? Are you certain? The human race isn’t really THAT obsessed with destruction, is it?” Lyra asked while looking understandably baffled.
“Well… If it had been several years ago, I would have viewed that outcome as being possible, but not guaranteed. But now…I can honestly say it is all but assured that it will happen someday. There are nations out there that are even ruled by evil, corruption, and greed that possess such weapons. And the greatest powers in the world, those who actually do have the power to stamp out these wretched governments, consistently fail to do so and just stand by idly and let them amass more power and inflict more harm on their own people. They fail to understand that there are times when those who spread suffering must be destroyed instead of being negotiated with. Cowards. And that complacency will only spell trouble in the end. Mankind has placed the arrow in the bowstring. All they have to do now is let go.”
This i agree with!!!!!!!
4433937 You are not James. Your emotions are not the same as his. Obviously, that means there will be somethings he feels/experiences that you don't.
BRUH Ok i just really wanted to scream that after I heard about him "sharing love" again. I swear to god i just want to reach inside the story and slap him to the sun when he says things like that x)
That bit with Pinkie and the slippers, absolutely freaking hilarious!
Making a herd is the only thing I can assume he is doing at this point. Is herding a thing in this Equestria? I loved the Ed, Edd, and Eddy reference though. Take notes Hasbro and make this a thing in your show!
six slices of BED
8399217
Yep. That was some yummy bed.
But thanks for pointing it out. I'll fix it when I proofread it.
I've been reading this a while now and I can't wait any longer so please just tell me:
Does this ever become a herd relationship or do they ever meet James in his pony form?
Pinkie Pie does have a stomach, if it were a void the void would vaporise Pinkie Pie as a whole and everything in its path. But maybe her stomach is so strong that if it takes up more than it can handle it has to get into the intestines to get absorbed, especially if it’s gelatine which is very soft and able to be ingested and broken down very easily.
I know how Pinkie Pie was able to develop that strong of an electrical charge, it was because she generated more static electricity the more she rubbed and the faster she rubbed is gonna eventually generated a stronger electrical charge with that amount of static electricity. Of course James and Twilight don’t know the answer but I certainly know.
9630021
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that the continued shuffling will continue to accumulate an electrical charge until it stops.
Also there’s no such pony as Ruby Ring. I’m sorry but Diamond Tiara’s mother is named Spoiled Rich and not that fake imaginary entity Ruby Ring that was somehow made up on the spot with an illogical hardened brained mind who didn’t face reality and kept trying to soften his brain with transplants and surgery to make it think rationally again. Also I’m not sure if Spoiled Rich ran a jewellery store when I think back to the earlier episodes but anyway, she did what she did.

Check the post date.
I feel that Celestia and Luna is misguided in bringing humanity back if they plan to do it in a large scale because they dropped us into a world significantly more hostile than Equestria and humans does what humans do and adapted, becoming even more violent and more hostile than the humans they banished. The good ones that are left is the ones keeping sanity and taking them would doom humanity to extinction.
Ironically humanity's very bad attitude and actions could have been spawned or at least multiplied in severity by the very Alicorns that embraced Harmony and peace.
9996517
It’s meant to be done gradually over a very large timeframe, taking generations to insure every possible precaution is taken.
9623953
No, it's a portal to a void, also, Pinkie Pie isn't an understandable being, for MOST people/ponies,
Did you know that Twilight is Celestia's Niece-in-law?
So just going to point out this is factually incorrect. Native amaerican tribes fought frequent, violent, and bloody wars. The practice of scalping was used by multiple tribes to show how many they had killed in battle and they are tried to have the most. As well those tribes would frequently fight for land and many were know to enslave those they captured. They later did these same practices against settlers that they had done against each other (I suggest books like Indian captive and some others, first hand accounts from some captured and enslaved by indians)
The Indians mostly practice animism, the belief that all things are inhabited by spirits. This is a belief also seen in African Bush tribes, and in South American and asain tribes.

The more you know.
