Oooh, a new character! Lauren Faust's oc herself!
This is just so amazing, my Satan I love it
I'm honestly very conflicted with this story. Part of my mind saying that this story is very misanthrope, but the other part says that how different equestria is to our world. I'm aware of how bad things your time as you write this story, and you have sympathy. Sometimes, everytime this story talks crap about humanity, there is a sudden twitch or irritation in my head everytime it happens, but I just remind myself that the story is not demonizing humanity, but the WORLD we are living in is what being demonized.
I like the fact that you point out that equestria wouldn't be the only one would be harm if the portal to earth opens, but earth itself would be f*cked as well if it did open.
Damn, I blame the conversion bureau stories for making think this way.
Especially to a certain misanthrope hypocrite and her underlings.
"Tainted."
The Equestrian world is being overseen by a god.
The human world is being overseen by humans, for whatever god that may or may not oversee our world, chances are, that they do not like us.
When we started off as a species, look around and see what they left for us. Do you know what they left?
They left us a cruel and unforgiving environment that would not think twice before tearing us to shreds. It's like we were tossed aside like the second child while the favourite one reaped all the attention of their parents. We were abortions, a pile of cockroaches, we were nothing.
We could not thrive and prosper in the nature they created, so tribes banded together, and we sought to forge a heaven for ourselves.
Naturally, Humans cannot create something out of nothingness because we are not gods, so, we suffered, fought and killed to endure the harsh world we live in. We expanded because expansion meant survival for our people as we would be able to leverage more resources to grow our population.
In spite of all our flaws and weaknesses, look how far we have gotten, look how much we have achieved.
We've eliminated diseases like smallpox, revolutionised technology, made breakthroughs in fields of study, we learned about ourselves and the world around us. We even reached for the stars above.
You, an all-powerful god, have no right to judge the world we live in or the right to judge us failed, flawed and fragile humans.
In terms of greatness, who is more great?
One who is sheltered with a god?
Or one who searched for a god, found none, and chose to make themselves god for no one else was there to help them?

If my efforts still fail to appease you now, I don’t know what I could possibly do to win you over. You and I function on very different wavelengths.
At the very least, I know I tried. I won’t lose sleep over this.
I half agree with Faust. We humans are incredibly flawed, selfish and outright monsters at our worst. However, I will disagree with the fact that all bad can come from humans coming to her world. James is the best case scenario, but I don't think he's the only one on Earth who could thrive on Equestria in some way. Humans strive to reach higher because not only is it essential to their sanity, but also because of their strive to do better in whatever aspect they see, good or bad. The good things like music, art, cool technologies, for as long as man existed, amazing things were discovered. Our strives have often unlocked new stages of technology which often are like essential unlocks in a video game's tech tree. Fire, electricity, the splitting of the Atom, all of it. Sure a lot of it was used for evil purposes, but we've been striving to do better. Perhaps not everyone is going that direction, but even the smallest portion of over 7 or 8 billion people can make an enormous difference in the grander scheme. Of that I'm certain. I'm not advocating that we humans aren't at fault for being cut off from Equestria or anything, but perhaps we deserve one final chance. James most likely was that last chance, and now I hope that other humans can appreciate the paradise that is Equestria.

It wasn’t just about that. The chapter also serves as a meta commentary on the fandom itself and I don’t think I need to elaborate on that.

I see. I suppose there's nothing we humans won't corrupt if given the chance. That includes toxic fandoms.

Exactly the reaction I was going for.
What great timing for me to notice and read "Before Time Began to Flow" I can see the allusions to that era much more clearly now, and I'm guessing it'll become more and more important in the near future
All y'all muhfuckas badmouthin this story piss me off.
I forget was there a chapter where Pinkie pulls an Ed and eats her mattress?
