Dammit, Syeekoh.
8131704 It’s always nice when this is the first comment.
8131719
You know when your kid first curses. You know you should be ashamed, but you're just grinning?
That feeling is Majin Syeekoh.
8131721 I should put that on my wall.
8131723
Do it mate. It'd be an honor
I have several questions, the most prominent of which being: what the fuck, Syeekoh?
Good shit, as usual.
8131725 what the fuck is starting to come up more recently, yeah.
And thanks.
Some sirens just want to see the world burn.
8131756 I couldn’t have said it better myself.
I'm just left with one question...
why is it so common for the sirens to end up at crystal prep after rainbow rocks? seriously, I've seen a bunch of fan fics where it happens, and I can't figure a reason for it. There's no inherent humor, or cool factor.
unless they meet sci twi before friendship games and mold her into their ally in order to regain their magic... Someone please write that.
8131822 My guess is that it’s the only other school available after they got booed out of Canterlot High. You could say it’s a way to get a fresh start.
Although I’d hardly say they’re going to Crystal Prep here, hehe.
What makes it all the stranger for me is that it was Crystal Prep. If it had been their home -- be it a house or apartment building -- I could figure it out. If it had been a store -- like an office supply store -- I could figure it out. But to have it be a school they were not at and had in fact never even attended...
It's... funny, but in a... It's all so over the top and weird, that I have to find it funny because I'm not sure how to react kind of way.
...which is a statement I never thought I would be making.
Really not sure how I feel about this.
8131845 Yeah, I was kind of going for the sheer WTF of it being Crystal Prep of all places.

I want you to know I spent time making that instead of actually reading this fic.
8131869 Oh my god I just busted a gut from that.
Thank you so much.
Okay, NOW I've actually read it.
8131873 You read enough to fool me into thinking you read the story.
That’s fine with me.
8131884
And people have said I'M mean to Sonata in my stories.
8131893 People tend to notice that I’m really mean to EqG characters.
It’s just because I love them so much.
do you think god stays in heaven because he, too, lives in fear of his creation?
8131977 I am in physical pain from laughing with your comment because the answer is most likely yes.
Oh, you glorious, glorious bastard. I love literally everything about this short.
Some of us are mean to the ones we love. It's the way we show we care. If she was real (which she isn't, lucky for me), I would owe Sunset Shimmer one hell of an apology for all the shit I put her through. Same for the Dazzlings.
If it makes you feel any better, Posh recently warped my brain for a story as well.
8131869 - That is f-ing beautiful.
So, I was taking a break from homework when I read this. Cue everyone in the entire computer lab turning to stare at me as I try to control my hysterical laughter.
Then, I'm reading it a few hours later and, like, actually reading the words. And, in an effort to control my laughter, I walk out of my dorm room with a half-full bottle of decarbinated Sprite (the soda), walk down the hall drinking it like it's alcohol and then come back up to the common room to explain to my friends, while wheezing with repressed hysterics, why I think I need to read more fanfiction. I got so many laughs out of Sonata's line about no longer having emotion that one of my friends actually came into my room to also read the fic and fell on the floor laughing.
Your shit is always the best shit, my friend.

Nonsympathetic portrayals of the sirens are surprisingly rare to find, so I always appreciate them when I come across them. This is especially nice, since I can see each of them coping with their disempowerment in these specific ways. And I do have a soft spot for batshit crazy Sonata.
Thank you for this.
I like this. Still wondering how getting suicidal made Sonata so much smarter, but maybe that's what our education systems are lacking today. I really liked the cut to Crystal Prep, that was a good way to show that some thinking had gone on there that we weren't privy to, and decisions were taken which retrospectively seem hard to follow. Also, Sonata's line about the dating site was amazing.
8133062 I wasn't particularly complaining, or saying that writing her differently would have made the story better, if it helps? I do tend to see her as more stupid than that, but that probably made the story all the funnier, and I don't think it would have worked as well had she been a bit dim.
I have to take issue on some of the things you're highlighting in your response, though, with regards to canon - I'd say some things about Sonata's canon portrayal firmly suggest she isn't too bright:
She doesn't seem to get sarcasm, when Adagio says that she loves it in the EG world, and she takes metaphors very literally, with the 'she didn't push them, she pulled the lever' line. But no, those don't necessarily say that she's stupid. The one that sells it for me is how she almost gives the game away to Sunset outside the cafeteria. The getting distracted by lunch thing I can see being cloudcuckoolanderism, but I think only stupidity explains her telling their enemy about their special powers.
I guess it could be just being incredibly ditzy, but I find stupidity more convincing as an explanation. And past a certain point, I lose track of the distinction between ditziness and lack of intelligence.
Also, Adagio at least is shown to be very quick-witted and perceptive in the movie, probably moreso than just about any other MLP character, which I think suggests she at least wouldn't be dealing with the heroin addict thing (though again, it could be true for Sonata and maybe Aria).
My comment was meant to be more a comment on the story than a criticism of it, I agree with everything you've said about it being an MS story, and I think Syeekoh's approach offers (as well as being very funny) a lot of unique perspectives with surprisingly far-reaching possibilities (I'm thinking Ave Sonata, Time-Out Tuesday, Sonata's Best Night Ever and Adagio Is, in particular); that's one of the reasons I really appreciate his stories
Such a heart warming tale of sisterly bonding!
Or is that bondage?
I dunno.

8133400 It’s a tale of something, that’s for sure.
"Naked and surrounded by dead puppies"
Well, I know how I want to be shuffled off this mortal coil.
8133566 That does sound tempting...
8133881
Sugarcoat does. :3
Goddamnit, Syeekoh.
...I don't know what I was expecting.
Dammit Syeekoh.
I'm not sure why this works, but it works. The jump cut should throw me, but it doesn't. It's all so random... how are you making it so funny?!
NOTICETEACH MESENPAISYEEKOH!8133400
I think I read that story.
out of *her hand
... how do you hum plastically?
Was this during Pledge Week?
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Is she trying to land one of them for a date?
8151780 Thanks for the catch!
Its always interesting to see a portrayak of the sirens post depowering that has them be actually altered by having a fundamental part of themselves destroyed.
8160674 Yes, I've toyed with the idea myself. Did you know there's an actual condition called amusia where brain damage causes someone to lose the ability to hear music as such?
This was way, way more enjoyable than I thought it would be.
The sirens are so much fun, Sonata especially so. They're the right kind of crazy.
A happy ending for all, it seems. Except for Cadance and Shining Armour who died in the flame
Dears, you're repeating yourselves.
Sonata having nerve damage and not being able to physically feel anything is an interesting concept I hope to see you use more of it in the future.
Okay, wait, what
9489923
What, indeed.
9489923
You're probably going to be saying that a lot on your journey.
9489923
prequel. only tangentially connected, mainly to set up the characterization of the non-adagio sirens.
9489998
Definitely not the question that was on my mind.
9489998 9489923
In fact, I'm reasonably certain it wasn't originally Beanis, but got folded into canon later. It's not even the only one of Majin's fics that that's happened for, either.
