Being a princess looks like sunshine and rainbows from the outside; but for research-obsessed Twilight Sparkle, being a princess sounds scary, and those new wings aren't helping either!

So she does whatever any stressed bookworm would do, decides to seek advice from the best: successful rulers from the past! But she's not here for bookish research, oh no; she wants to see these rulers in action! Twilight decides to start off at the very beginning, with the first recognized ruler of Equestria: Queen Majesty. But once Queen Majesty catches her and forces the truth out of her, Twilight Sparkle will be dragged into a whirlwind adventure through time. She will have to face old foes, new foes, old magic, and the most powerful magic of all: friendship.

In the ancient past, Faust was the strongest of all alicorns who gave birth to Celestia and Luna. All Faust wanted was to live in peace with her two daughters after their father passed away during the war against darkness that is just known by the name Void. Unfortunately, the void monsters were just slowed down and not banished from their realm.

High Alicorn Council "pleaded" for Faust to help them to banish these void monsters so they could live in peace. Faust had no chance other than to help them. Faust managed to banish these void creatures back to the abyss that spawned them, but with a price. All these years Celestia and Luna thought their mother had died like their father fighting to protect the world, but fate has seen to it that their mother gets to see her foals again.

Shining Armor once went to war. His body is back, but he is not.

Levi, the only human in Equestria at this point in time, had been living peacefully for a couple months now. He has made many friends along the way, and has been staying at Twilight's Castle in Ponyville. However, one day, he is brought into the castle, unconscious. The ponies thought he was simply sick and was suffering from heat stroke, but what they discover will haunt them for the rest of their lives. This will make ponies realize who they really are...

Sunset Shimmer has been accepted by the girls at Canterlot High as a friend and she's learning a lot about friendship. However, she still finds herself missing her old home more often than not. She decides to volunteer her time at the local horse park to try and give herself something to do and reconnect, at least vaguely, with her equine roots.

Before the Battle of the Bands Adagio Dazzle had everything she thought she needed. Ambition, power, loyal-ish minions and her voice. Now, she has nothing. No friends, no magic and no future unless she can figure out how to pick herself up after the defeat of the Dazzlings.

Perhaps fellow failed villain could help her through these tough times?

Expectations were low for finding that on his holiday. But as clockwork as Celestia raising the sun, fate has a funny relationship with expectations.
