Ancient Equestria




Back in the past long before Twilight was born A white Alicorn had returned to her home with a small blue filly on her arms. Opening the door to get into her home he was met with another small white alicorn filly who was jumping up and down in excitement.
"Mom! you're back can I see her pretty please!" white smaller alicorn jumped near her mother.
"Oh, Celestia just hold on a moment." Placing her coat away she walked into the living room and sit down on a couch
"Celestia, say hi to your little sister, her name is Luna." The older white alicorn said to a young filly who looked in awe at the small filly who was laid on the couch.
"Hi there, I'm Celestia your big sister." Celestia said offering one of her fingers towards the small bundle of joy who took hold of it and instinctively moved it to her mouth and started to suck on it. The tender moment was interrupted by a series of strong knocks coming from the front door.
"Celestia, watch Luna for a moment. I'll go see who it is." Leaving the living room and moving back towards the front door she opened to meet up with two soldiers who both had their hats on their hands in front of them. Letting out a gasp and moving her left hand over her mouth she could feel her eyes get wet and tears starting to flow down her cheeks.

"No... It can't..." She said fighting back tears for naught while trying to continue talking.
"Lady Faust, It brings me great sadness to inform you that your husband has fallen in the fight against the Void. But thanks to his heroism and sacrifice the void creatures won't be a problem anymore. I don't know what kind of magic he used, but it seems the portals were shut and all of the creatures were banished from our realm. It isn't much but we managed to retrieve his weaponry." The older soldier of the two explained and lit up his horn to summon a flame yellow halberd with a sun image etched into it and two moon forged blades with waning moon etched onto them.
"We grieve with you, Lady Faust. Sun Aegis was truly a wonderful stallion and the best commander anyone could ask. I'm truly sorry to keep this short, but there are other families we must visit and deliver the somber news. If you need anything please contact me I made a promise to Aegis and I will do my best to uphold it." The commanding soldier said and gave a salute to her with the other soldier and left to visit other families who had lost someone.

Closing the door Faust fell to the ground and started crying letting her grieve out. Celestia walked in with Luna in her arms to see what is wrong with her mother. Faust couldn't find the strength to tell her not yet all she could do was to take her daughters into her deep embrace making a promise to protect her and Sun's children with all of her might.




Years Later




A forest area that would be known in the future as Everfree Forest was a dangerous place to be even back in ancient Equestria. After Sun Aegis's honorary funeral service Faust couldn't stay in the town and had to move away explaining it to her friends as too many painful memories. She had built a small cottage in the forest for her, Celestia, and Luna the two fillies played and were happy even after learning about their father's untimely death. In time they wanted to learn more about magic and Faust was more than happy to teach them. Months turned to years quickly and Faust had overheard rumors about void creatures during one of her visits to town while getting necessary materials she couldn't find herself in the forest. She really didn't care about rumors and left after getting everything she needed and returned home. 
Entering into the cottage and undressing her coat she yelled. "Celestia! Luna! I'm Home!" Not hearing any answer she started to worry a little and checked first the kitchen then the living room where both fillies were eating cookies and playing with Discord.

"Aaah... Faust so good to see you again." Discord said turning to face Faust.
"Nice to see you too Discord. What did you do to them this time?" Faust asked letting out a sigh.
"Oh they can't hear anything at the moment which is good." Discord explained.
"And why would that be?" Faust questioned. Their talk was interrupted by a series of knocks at the door.
"That's why. Go on I'll watch these two rascals" Discord said. Faust was wondering what he did mean but walked back to open the door to see a familiar soldier at the door.
"Lady Faust." soldier said and saluted her.
"Okay, What did you mess up Captain." Faust asked having an annoyed look at her face.
"I'll be fast and go straight to the point. I'm sure you have heard the rumors about Void creatures returning. All of those are true and we require your assistance. You are the only one who has enough strength on her magic to cast a spell to close those portals permanently." Captain explained.
Her annoyed face had turned to anger. Had her husband died for nothing all those years ago. "So you're telling me that my Sun, Celestia, and Luna's father died for nothing!?" Faust half yelled.
"Not for nothing. He bought us time when he cast the spell to close the portals and banish the creatures it was only for a limited time. Sun didn't have enough strength left in his body to permanently seal them only close them and slow their opening." Captain answered.

"If the magic seal was deteriorating on the portals why didn't cast enhancing and repair spell on them to keep them locked!" Faust said angrily.
"We tried! But something went wrong and all we could do was delay the inevitable. We studied the portal's magic energy and managed to find out a spell that seals them permanently, but only someone like you has enough magic in their body to cast the spell." Captain answered with a stick face.
"And why should I care. I won't leave my daughters I don't want to tempt fate and make them orphans. You can leave now." Faust said finishing the conversation.
"We thought something like this would happen. I'm sorry it had to come to this." Captain said and handed over a letter to Faust.
The letter had A seal of High Alicorn Council on it. Faust took it and opened it and started to read it.




By the order of High Alicorn Council, former High Archmage Faust Lorey aka "Queen of Magic" is hereby ordered to join the effort to battle against the Void and aid her people in this time of need or face the punishment of life imprisonment and having her magic sealed.

These orders and punishment for disobeying them were voted and approved by all five council members.




After she finished reading the letter her face was burning red from anger. "How dare those old fools to do this!" Faust turned around and shoot a beam towards two huge oak trees in anger which disintegrated them in an instant.
"Fine! I'll help you just let me say goodbye to Celestia and Luna." Faust said and walked back into the cottage slamming the door behind her. Walking angrily back into the living room Discord had a sad look on him.
"I'm sorry Faust. You are one of the few who treat me as a friend. Please let me help you and look after Celestia and Luna while you are away. I'll continue training them while you are away." Discord said while Celestia and Luna were sitting on the floor and drawing silly pictures.
"I won't mind at all Discord I trust you, but what if someone visits. I know most of my kind won't tolerate draconequus and see them as a nuisance." Faust said.
With a snap of his fingers Discord transformed into a grey-furred alicorn. "Problem solved. Anything else?" Discord asked.
Smiling warmly towards Discord for a moment before her face turned somber. "Please let me say goodbye to them." Discord nodded and snapped his fingers and disappeared.

"Celestia, Luna could we talk for a moment." Faust said and tapped on a couch sitting down with her two fillies both sitting on her sides.
"I... Mom needs to go on a journey and fix something that dad's friends broke. I don't know how long I'm away, but my friend will take care of you so listen what he says and do as he says." Faust said while rubbing Celestia's and Luna's manes.
"Ohh... When will you come home mommy tomorrow?" Luna asked.
"Dummy she is going on a journey it won't be over in a day." Celestia said.
"Girls, no fighting. As I said I don't know how long I will be away. I'll promise to be as fast as I can." Faust said and continued to rub Celestia's and Luna's manes while humming. It didn't take long for the two fillies to fall asleep on the couch. Getting up and left the living room towards her bedroom to gather her equipment for her mission. After she was done she left towards the front door where Discord was waiting.
"Please, look after them and show them that anyone can be your friend and keep the chaos magic to a minimum." Faust said and gave a crushing hug to Discord who returned it.
"I will Faust, I'll do my best to help them and teach them as you would." Discord said.
After the final goodbyes, Faust left her home behind to help with this Void problem that killed her husband.




Two Months Later




The sky was dark purple and many alicorns were fighting against twisted monsters at the courtyard of the royal castle. These monsters had many eyes some even hundreds, tentacles many mouths, and leathery wings. Magic bolts of fire, frost, and arcane were shot towards the monsters from the horns of alicorns while some used swords and other weaponry to battle these void monsters. The biggest of these was on deadlock with Faust who was using all of her might to keep it at bay.
"It's going to be easy they said. It won't take long they said. Buck them all!" Faust yelled and pushed more energy into her magic beam. While alicorns and void creatures around her killed each other.
"Give in you weak creature. All will be devoured you don't have the sacrifice to stop us." The creature taunted
"The spell should have worked it should have... Wait sacrifice that's it!" Retreating and casting a massive blinding flash of light to get some time to herself she used her magic to send a message to Discord.
"Discord, I have to keep this short. Take care of my two fillies and tell them I and Sun both loved them from all of our hearts. And please take care of yourself too. My answer is yes I would have loved to go on date with you. I'm sorry this is the only way I can stop them." Finishing the message she send it and started to gather energy on her horn while the enemy was still blinded. The green energy kept growing and growing until it was sucked back into her body.
Faust closed her eyes and a couple of tears dropped from her closed eyes. "Please take care of each other Celestia, Luna." Finishing her body exploded in green energy that washed over all of Equestria banishing the void creatures and closing their portals permanently.




Present Day




Celestia had lowered the sun and Luna had risen to the moon and both of the princesses were sitting at the table eating and playing together for the short while they get now and then. Finishing their food both sisters walked over to the balcony
"Sister, You look somber is something wrong?" Luna asked while nuzzling next to her older sister.
"It's nothing. Just thinking about mom. It's that day again." Celestia explained while looking at the stars.
"I know sister. I'm sure she and dad are both watching over us." Looking towards the sky both sisters noticed something on the sky it looked like a small meteorite.
"Look sister a meteorite." Luna said and watched in awe as it fell from the sky. It fell onto the border of Everfree Frost and Ponyville.
"Would you look at that I should send a letter to Twilight about this, she always wants to learn more about well anything really why not meteorites this time." Celestia said and Luna just rolled her eyes.
"You write to your student. I'll go and patrol the dream realm." Luna said and left flying towards her tower.
Celestia took a letter and started to write.

My faithful student, I and Luna witnessed a meteorite falling from the sky and looked like it fell at the border of Everfree Forest and Ponyville. I know you want to learn anything new so why not meteorites it is said they have magical metals in them so here is a good chance to see if those stories are true.

PS. I hope Spike is doing okay I heard about that Dragon Flu incident.




Lowering the letter Twilight Sparkle had a gleam in her eyes. True it was a little late, but a chance like this couldn't be ignored.
"Spike, get my writing equipment we are going to see this meteorite." Twilight said and started to gather some books about meteorites.
"Now? But it's 10 pm. Can't we go tomorrow?" Spike said with a tired voice.
"No, we need to be the first ones there. Please Spike I get double gems on your burgers when we next visit." Twilight said trying to bribe her number one assistant.
Hearing this all the sleep disappeared from Spike's eyes "Writing equipment just a moment." Spike said and left to gather them already his mouth getting wet just thinking about the double gems.

Twilight and Spike were walking towards the forest border and run into Rainbow Dash.
"Hi Twilight, Spike. What are you doing up so late? And before you ask I'm practicing my night flying." Rainbow asked.
"We are heading to see that meteorite that fell from the sky. I have always wondered would there be any magical metals on those." Twilight answered.
"Yeah I saw something fall from the sky come on I show you where I think it fell." Rainbow waved them to follow.
The trio walked towards the Everfree Forest after a while they noticed smoke rising from the forest. It seems that the meteorite dropped into the forest but still it was pretty near the border.
"Come on let's go it isn't far into the forest." Twilight said and started to run getting closer to the area where the meteorite fell. Arriving at the area there was a crater with a radius of approx five meters. Looking down from the edge of the crater Twilight couldn't see the bottom.

"How big was this meteorite look at the size of this crater. Rainbow Could I get a lift down there to see how big this thing is." Twilight asked while writing notes on his notepad while Spike walked around the edge of the crater.
Rainbow looked at Twilight and then down from the edge of the crater "Sure... If you say so." Rainbow said and grabbed Twilight from arms and started to fly her into the crater. Flying down into the crater the smoke itched their eyes a little and Twilight cast a spell to protect them from the smoke. After a short while, they reached the bottom.
"So much smoke left from impact. I'll try to get rid of it." Twilight said and lit her horn casting another spell to remove all the smoke from the crater. Slowly the smoke started to disappear and Rainbow looked around.
"Nice going Sparkle I don't see ant rocks ove..." Rainbow said but stopped talking when seeing a pony in the crater.
"Rainbow? What did you say something abou..." Twilight said walking next to Rainbow and lost her speech too.
There was laying a white alicorn who was about the same size as Celestia and had a deep red colored mane and tail, her cutie mark was depicting a quill over a book with a star mark on it.

"Wha.. Alicorn! How! Why!" Twilight started to have one of her famous panic attacks.
Shaking her head to clear her mind Rainbow took hold of her friend. "Come on Twilight Focus. This is big! We need to contact Princess Celestia or Princess Luna."  Rainbow said.
Making use of the technique Cadance reached her she breathed out and focused. She checked the pulse on this alicorn and found it. It was weak but it was there. "We need to move her. I can teleport her and myself into my library and give him some first aid. Could you fly with Spike to home?" Twilight said and started to charge her spell.
"Sure Twi, you get the mystery alicorn some help." Rainbow said and flew away.

A portal appeared in front of Twilight and she entered into it while carrying the white alicorn with her through. Back in her library, she lowered the pony onto the guest bed and rushed to get the first aid kit.
The mystery alicorn didn't have any life-threatening wounds but still, they needed to be cleaned and bandaged. Twilight did his best to clean the wounds, while doing this the alicorn mumbled in her sleep.
"Celestia... Luna... Sun..." the alicorn mumbled while breathing heavily.
Hearing the alicorn say Celestia and Luna's name she stopped what she was doing and looked at the white alicorn. How could this pony know Celestia?
"Who are you?" She asked waiting to get an answer but didn't get any and continued to treat her wounds. After finishing treating her Twilight gets some paper and starts to write and study the alicorn at the bed writing down any distinct marks to recognize her. After a while, Rainbow and Spike entered the library.
"Twilight is it true? You found an alicorn from inside the crater?" Spike asked while walking in and noticed the white alicorn on a guest bed while twilight was sitting next to her writing something.
"Yes and I need you to send this to Princess she needs to know about this." Twilight said and handed over the letter to Spike who used his Dragonfire to transfer it to Celestia.
"So... what do we do while waiting?" Rainbow asked.
"All we can do now is wait. Celestia probably heads here at the moment she reads my letter. You should go to sleep Spike I stay up and wait if she wakes up." Twilight said. Spike left for bed and was fast asleep, Rainbow decided to stay, but she too fell asleep on the couch where she was sitting and reading the newspaper. Twilight fought to stay awake, but she too fell victim to her fatigue and was drifting into the realm of dreams.

The alicorn opened her eyes and gasped for breath. She looked at her surroundings to see where she was. Holding her hand on her forehead and letting to a little yelp of pain.
"My head... Where am I? This isn't the void it's too warm and colorful." alicorn said and looked around herself again noticing a purple unicorn sleeping on a chair next to her. She got up from the bed and looked around for the exit. With a little searching, she found the door and left the library.
Walking around Ponyville it was dark and some ponies were getting ready to open their business. Walking through the streets all eyes were looking at her, she could feel the eyes on her back every time she walked past a pony.
She walked a while and came in front of a 24/7 restaurant and decided to walk in and a bell informing the owner of a customer rings.
"Ah please take a seat I'll be there in just a moment." the voice yelled from the kitchen. Doing as she was told she sat down at a table. After a short moment, a stallion walked out of the kitchen with a notepad in his hand
"So what would you like to have I would recommend the hay fri..." the stallion didn't finish his sentence finally looking at the alicorn sitting alone at the table who in turn looked worriedly at the stallion.
"Mister? Are you okay?" she asked while tilting her head a little.
"I... eh your highness what would you want to eat please just order and I make it." Chef said stuttering a little.
"I don't really know... could you make something tasty, please? And just Faust is okay I'm not a member of the royal family."
"Hay fries it is your highness coming right away." The stallion said and vanished into the kitchen leaving Faust alone waiting.




Canterlot




It was almost time to lower the moon and raise the sun. Luna left the realm of dreams and her tower to fly into the balcony where Celestia was waiting for her sitting with a letter in her hand. Seeing her sister sitting in silence worried Luna and she landed next to her.
"Sister? Are you alright? You look like you have seen a ghost." Luna asked worrying over her sister.
"Read this and you'll understand." Celestia said and handed the letter to Luna.




Princess Celestia thank you for the info about the meteorite I was so overjoyed with the possibility of learning more about these mysterious objects. What I'm about to say may sound crazy, but the crater that the meteorite left behind had an alicorn in it. My theory is it might be some magical travel that went horribly wrong, but still, there shouldn't be more than three alicorns right? So I, Spike, and Rainbow Dash took the alicorn to my library to treat her wounds I think you should take a look at this the alicorn is white like you she has a deep red mane and tail and her cutie mark depicts a quill over a book with a star mark on it. I know you are probably already sleeping so I'll stay at her bedside just to be safe if she wakes up.

PS. Spikes okay the episode with flu was pretty funny and harmless in the end so you don't need to worry.




After reading the letter Luna had to take a double check on the description of this alicorn Twilight had found.
"This... this can't be right. Mom died protecting Equestria from the void there wasn't anything left to bury." Luna said feeling her pulse rising and stuttering while speaking.
"Twilight might know our mother's cutie mark from the stories, but she wouldn't lie something about like this to me. And you know that each cutie mark is unique there are no two same cutie marks. And you said it yourself nothing of her body was left. I always wished deep down that she was alive." Celestia said feeling warm tears on her cheeks and brushing them off.
Luna was deep in thought, true Twilight was a mare of her word, and this was way over of the possibility of a joke. "Tia? Maybe we should visit her right now and see if it really is mother, but first let's raise the sun and lower the moon." Luna said and got a nod from Celestia. Both of their horns started to glow and the celestial objects started to move.
After that was done in a flash of golden magic Celestia and Luna were gone.




Golden Oaks Library




Twilight, Rainbow, and Spike were sleeping tight when a golden flash appeared in the middle of the library. After the glow had dissipated in there stood Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Celestia looked around the library not seeing her mother anywhere. Walking next to Twilight she shook her awake.
"Twilight, where is this alicorn you found?" Celestia asked speaking quickly and worriedly.
Twilight opened her eyes while feeling somepony shaking her. "Wha..." Taking a quick look she saw it was Princess Celestia and she had a worried look on her face. 
"Twilight where is this alicorn you found?" Luna joined in questioning. Rainbow Dash and Spike woke up to the noise the two princesses were making.
looking at the bed and noticing that the alicorn was missing Twilight got up from the bed looking around the library to search for the alicorn. Noticing that the front door was open she pointed at the door. "Princess Celestia, did you come in through the front door?" Twilight asked. Both princesses looked towards the front door and quickly dashed out from it
"Hey wait up! Princess Celestia, Princess Luna!" Twilight yelled starting to run after them Rainbow and Spike started to follow them too.

Back in the restaurant, Faust was tasting all kinds of new foods she could have never imagined hay fries, hay burgers hay soup, and more. After the latest meal, she let out a large burb and placed the plate on top of the tower of over 40 plates.
"I have never tasted anything this tasty. Could you make anything else?" Faust asked while taking a sip of her orange juice.
The cook was looking at the pile of plates and wondering how could she still have room for more. "I... Your highness, might I suggest dessert? I don't have anything left to make food until the daily delivery of materials arrive." the cook suggested.
"Oh... sounds lovely something sweet, please. And I already told you I'm not a member of the royal family just Faust is enough. And might you tell me your name? Or do I just call you a cook?" Faust said after emptying her glass.
"Home Heart your hig... Faust. My name is Home Heart. I have the perfect dessert in mind the banana boat trip ice cream, Just a moment and I'll create one for you." Home Heart said and disappeared into the kitchen again and Faust stood in her place waiting for some dessert.

Celestia and Luna were running around Ponyville searching for the alicorn that might be their long-lost mother while Twilight, Spike, and Rainbow Dash were trying their best to stay on their tails. They visited empty alleys, town hall, shops, and any building that had ponies working or just living in their houses.
"What's wrong with these two? They are running like their life depends on it." Rainbow said getting annoyed. 
"I don't know, but the way Princess looked at me. It looked like she was desperate or something like that I don't know maybe I was just seeing things." Twilight said while they continued to run after the two princesses. Soon a pink earth pony appeared next to Twilight.
"Ooo why didn't anyone tell me there was, tag a princess competition. You know I'm the tag master of Ponyville." Pinkie said giggling.
"Hi Pinkie. We are kinda trying to catch those two and ask what's going on I think." Spike said while sitting on Twilight's back.
"Why didn't you say so right away." Pinkie said and Twilight could swear that Pinkies legs transformed into wheels when she dashed after and then rammed the two princesses into the ground.
"Tag!" Pinkie said smiling. Luna and Celestia got back up from the ground shaking their heads.
"Laughter! Are you crazy!" Luna said clearly angry while Celestia placed her hand onto Luna's shoulder trying to calm her sister. "Lulu, you know Pinkie is little... different on saying hello to her friends. But could I ask why you rammed us into the ground?" Celestia asked while Twilight, Rainbow, and Spike finally caught them.

"Princesses? What on earth is going on?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah! Why are you two running like headless chickens anyway." Rainbow said clearly annoyed about this situation.
"You two are silly they are searching for the new pony of Ponyville" Pinkie said giggling.
"I'm sorry what?" Luna said.
"Come on follow your captain I know the way." Pinkie said while having somehow managed to get a captain's hat on her head and started to hop on her place.
"Better follow her trust me or you drive yourself crazy." Twilight said. Luna turned towards her sister who just let out a sigh. "You might be right. This headless running isn't the best way to approach our problem." Celestia said.
"Okay Pinkie led the way." Twilight said to her pink friend.
"That's Captain Pie to you First mate. Now follow me my trusted crew." Pinkie said and started to hop towards a certain restaurant.

Home Heart placed down the tastiest looking dessert Faust has ever seen. "It looks magnificent. Does it taste as good?" Faust asked and Home Heart let out a hearty laugh "Only one way to find out miss Faust. Please enjoy." Home Heart said and returned to the kitchen.
Faust took a spoon into her hand and took the first taste. The Ice cream melted in her mouth and the taste was heavenly and it was extremely sweet. Faust continued to eat and at that moment the bell rang while the door to the restaurant opened and a pink earth pony appeared wearing an odd hat and... a wooden sword?
"There she is princesses I told you the new pony is here." Pinkie said pointing her with her toy sword. Rainbow appeared behind her, then Twilight and Spike, and lastly the two alicorns. Seeing Faust drained the color from both of their faces and they couldn't find words to speak and didn't know what to do. At that moment Home Heart came from the kitchen.
"Princess Luna? Princess Celestia!? Three alicorns in my restaurant in one day. This is a rare honor indeed what would you two want?" Home Heart asked and took his notepad to write their orders.

Seeing the two alicorns Faust stopped eating her ice cream and dropped the spoon onto the floor. She got up and slowly walked towards Celestia and Luna. She could feel their magic there was no mistake it was her two little fillies, but they weren't so little anymore. "Tia? Lulu?" Faust said her words coming out with a shaky voice while small tears started to form and flow down her cheeks.
Celestia and Luna in turn looked at the Alicorn in front of them her mane, that cutie mark, her voice, and her aura. There is no mistake their mother had returned from where ever she was all this time. Both of them jumped forward and tagged their mother into the ground while tears of joy flowed from their eyes.
"Mommy!" Celestia and Luna yelled while jumping and hugged Faust tightly not wanting to let go.
"Mommy!?" the rest of the ponies plus one dragon yelled.

Laying down on the ground and felt her daughters hugging her with all of their might while crying like she was, but these weren't tears of sorrow no they were those of joy. The time felt like a distant concept while she was locked inside the void realm and all that kept her mind intact was the knowledge of returning to her two fillies.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I left you two alone, can you ever forgive me?" Faust asked with a shaky voice while rubbing her daughter's manes keeping them close to her.
"Yes mom we do." Both Celestia and Luna answered and released Faust from their hug and helped her up. Twilight was first to get over the shock. "So... you're the mother of Celestia and Luna miss...?" Twilight asked wondering just why Celestia or Luna haven't talked about their mother at all.
"Perhaps we should move to your library for some privacy. Home Heart, thank you for feeding my mother send the bill to the royal accountant and I'll take care of the payment." Celestia said and lit her horn up and soon then the party disappeared from the restaurant leaving Home Heart alone wondering what just happened.




Golden Oaks Library




The group appeared back in the library Twilight guided Spike to make something for them to drink while she guided the rest of the party to the table.
Spike brought some coffee to drink for all of them and took a seat next to Twilight. "Are you really mother Celestia and Luna? Aren't Alicorns made from other ponies with magical ascension like Cadance? What's your name?" Twilight asked and took the journal she had written info about this so-called mother of Celestia.
Before Faust got a chance to answer Celestia spoke before her. "Yes Alicorns can be ascended from other ponies, but we are our own branch of ponies." Celestia explained while Faust was looking at Twilight like she was scanning her.
"As for my name young one it's Faust, Faust Lorey I was also known as "Queen of Magic" when I lead the Magic Wardens as their High Archmage." Faust explained, hearing the title Queen of Magic Twilight went rigid she had an empty look in her eyes and she looked like she had short-circuited.

"If Celestia and Luna are princesses are you like a Queen of Equestria then?" Spike asked while knocking Twilights head.
Faust let out a hearty laugh. "No little one I'm not. In fact, I didn't even know that my daughters were married to the royal family so when do I get to meet my sons-in-law or daughters-in-law I won't judge." Faust said. Celestia and Luna were rubbing their necks and having a hard time deciding how to tell her the news.
"Mom... I don't know how to tell you this, but... Celestia, Cadenza, and I are the only living alicorns." Luna said having a sad look on her face.
Faust looked at her daughters. "How? How long has it been?" She asked looking out of the window.
"We aren't sure. There was some sort of plague when we were still foals and the stallion that took care of us after your disappearance sealed us into safety and promised to come and get us after it was over." Celestia explained.
"And it was Starswirl the Bearded who released us from that enchantment over a thousand years ago. He told us that he has never seen or heard of Alicorns so it might have been thousands of years more we were trapped in that stone and all of it passed us in an instant." Luna finished.
Faust closed her eyes. "Thank you Discord." she silently thanked Discord.

Twilight had finally managed to process what Faust had told her "You are THE QUEEN OF MAGIC!? But wasn't that just a myth? Oh my gosh, there is so much I can learn from you! You got to tell me everything!" Twilight said
"Ugh way too much drama for me. I think I'll head to Fluttershy and see if she's okay." Rainbow said and left
"We just have to have a welcome home party for you miss Faust I can already see what kind of cakes I can make for that party. I gotta go and start planning right away! Bye Twily!" Pinkie said and left hopping through the wall of Golden Oaks library.
Faust looked what that odd earth pony just did. This place was magically protected how did an earth pony manage to just walk through the wall? "What is she? How could an earth pony do that?" Faust asked.
"Twilight while I fully support your want to learn more I must ask if you could stop for now and let us leave for Canterlot there is much mother needs to see. I'm sure mother would be glad to talk with you in private later." Celestia said.
Twilight let out a sigh. She couldn't imagine Celestia or Luna growing up without their mother and father her research could wait."I'll hold you onto that. I hope you three can make up for the lost time." she said and closed her journal.
"Thank you Twilight." Luna said and Celestia lit her horn up and teleported them away leaving Spike and Twilight alone in the library. "Spike I need you to get all of my books about ancient Equestria as far as you can find them. I need to be sure." Twilight said and dashed off to search books.
"Really Twilight?" Spike said and followed her sister.




Canterlot Throne Room




Celestia, Luna, and Faust appeared in the throne room. Faust looked around the room taking in all the handcrafted art pieces from different eras of pony history.
"Welcome to Canterlot mother. This is where we hold court and meet with any other important foreign leaders." Celestia explained while Faust walked around the room.
The moment was interrupted when multiple guards entered the room. Moving in protecting Celestia and Luna and trapping the unknown alicorn in her place with magic.
"Protect the Princesses! Hold the intruder in her place! Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, are you alright? She didn't hurt you?" Captain Armor asked.

Faust was seeing red at that comment. Hurt them? She would never dare to hurt her two fillies no matter what they did. She took a quick look at the magic surrounding her keeping her locked in place powered by six unicorns. Their spellcraft was impressive but there were many holes on it she could exploit. "Have you ever heard the saying "don't get between the mother bear and her cubs"?" Faust asked.
Shining looked at Faust. "How can she speak!? I told you to hold her in place!" Shining said clearly angry.
"We don't know sir!" one of the unicorns said panting.
Celestia was about to stop all of them, but Luna stopped her and whispered to her. "Mom won't hurt them she just gives them a little lesson. Besides this should be fun to watch." she said and giggled a little.

Shining drew her sword. "Well since you can talk maybe you want to tell me what were you planning to do?" Shining said pointing the sword towards Faust.
Faust's face turned from anger into a motherly smile. "Aaah... So this is just a misunderstanding. Well, I might be a little rusty, but escaping this should be easy." She thought to herself and kept her motherly smile on her face.
"You see the mother bear does everything in her power to get to her cubs and keep them safe." Faust said taking a closer look at the white unicorn stallion in front of her. He had a similar aura as the purple pony from the library brother and sister perhaps?
Shining looked at Faust. Wondering what on Equus she is talking about. "What? So some crazy pony managed to get past our wards?" Shining commented.
"Well let me show you a little trick." Faust said and closed her eyes for a moment, breathing in and out steadily while Shining moved closer to her face. Suddenly she opened her eyes
"Boo!" she said that trying to sound scary, making Shining jump back a little. The magic around her disappeared and it was redirected into the royal guards around them locking all of them into their places. All the guards were amazed and scared of what just happened. Guards and Faust were too focused on each other to notice Celestia and Luna giggling.
"You know this was going to happen didn't you?" Celestia asked "Perhaps..." Luna said while Celesti just rolled her head and held back her laughter.
Shining looked angrily towards Faust, but there was also a hint of fear in him. "Who... Who are you and what you want." Shining asked while trying to get free from the magic that was holding him.

"My name is Faust, Faust Lorey. Who might you be?" Faust said and dispelled the magic holding the guards in their places. "Wha..." Shining said wondering why this pony released them and only now taking a closer look at her and seems like others noticed it too. "She's an Alicorn!" one of the guards yelled and fainted. Celestia and Luna started to laugh loudly and walked next to their mother. "Well I never doubted how this would end. At ease Captain Armor." Celestia said. "How..." Shining tried to find words, but failed.
"Your actions were commendable, you took action impressively fast. But our guest here isn't a threat in fact she is a long-lost family member." Luna said and complemented guards on their speed while in turn Shining and the guards looked dumbfoundedly towards their monarchs.
"My guards meet our mother Faust Lorey." Celestia said in her Royal Canterlot Voice.
"Your What!" could be heard from the doorway where a certain pink alicorn stood.

Canterlot




Shining and I talked about how we should approach Twilight about their incoming wedding. The planning went nicely until a code red was given to all guards Shining took off towards the throne room and insisted that I should stay behind. It seems some powerful pony had managed to get past the wards and was inside the throne room with Celestia and Luna. I let Shining leave and waited for a couple of minutes before I followed him.
"Like I'm going to sit out and stay still while my aunts are in danger" I talked to myself while flying towards the throne room. Finally getting there I heard some talking and slowly sneaked to peak from the entrance Celestia was speaking.
"My guards meet our mother Faust Lorey." She said. And that info hit me like a train Aunties have never spoken anything about their mother. I jump out of hiding and yell the only thing that comes into my mind.
Your What!

Celestia looked at the entrance seeing Cadance standing there her face full of questions
"Ah Cadance just the mare I was hoping to see come there is someone you should meet." Celestia waved for Cadance to come in and meet their mother. Walking inside, after a short walk, she was in front of Faust. Taking a close look she could see who gave their looks to her aunts, but she had to be sure and she used her magic to see what her heart held. Not finding anything else than motherly love towards Celestia and Luna she let out a sigh of relief offering her hand to introduce herself.
"It's nice to meet you my name is Mi Amore Cadenza Princess of Love, but I like to be called Cadance." Faust took hold of her hand and shook it having a warm smile on her face.
"And I'm called Faust Lorey or just Faust. I was called by my nickname Queen of Magic a long time ago if what my daughters tell me is the truth." Faust said. More guards from both Solar and Lunar guard have arrived to see what was happening hearing the nickname "Queen of Magic" made many unicorns flinch and murmurs could be heard from them all.

Cadance had the same look on her face that Twilight had. She couldn't believe what she just heard wasn't the Queen of Magic just a myth that they told in School?
"I'm sorry I must have misheard you. You called yourself Queen of Magic. As The Queen of Magic from those old stories?" Cadance asked.
"That was our mother's title or nickname she was an unrivaled magic-user back then like she is now." Luna said.
"Stop it Luna it's nothing special. It's just a nickname I got nothing more." Faust said.
"Oh... Saving Equus from demons when no one else could resist their mind magic is nothing?" Celestia commented.
"You two stop this teasing this instant!" Faust raised her voice a little and stomped her hoove down the floor making it crack.
"Alright we stop mom no need to get angry." Luna said. Faust gave a smile, but before she could say anything she fell to her rump and started to pant.
"How? It's like back when I was in the University of Magic this shoul..." Faust didn't get to finish her sentence and she passed out.
"Mom!" Celestia and Luna rushed to her and kneeled next to her passed-out body. Cadance did a fast check with her magic and found nothing wrong except a little magic exhaustion.
"Aunties, she's okay. She's just tired." Cadance said. Celestia gave a nod.
"Day and Night court is suspended for today. We need to take care of our mom and continue as normal tomorrow." Celestia said and took hold of Faust's sleeping form with her magic and started to carry her towards her bedroom and Luna followed.




Celestia's Bedroom




Faust was having fragments of her time in the void while she was sleeping. Each day in the void was a fight for your life. The void creatures didn't know what mercy was and all they wanted was to consume. Feeling one of these creatures pierce her stomach she woke up. "No!" She yelled placing her hand on her stomach and was looking around where she was. Noticing Luna and Celestia were sleeping next to her on both of her sides she lowered her head down onto the pillow.
"Are you okay mother?" Luna said looking at her worriedly. "I'm alright my sweet little star. Just some bad dreams." Celestia turned to face her too. "We asked for a doctor just to be safe. He told that your magic is fluctuating oddly like something is holding it back." Celestia said. Faust was trying to think what could have happened to her in the void, but she couldn't recall much of her time in there "I'm sorry my little blaze I don't know." Faust said.
"Sister it's time to lower the sun and rise the moon." Luna said and got up and walked to the balcony Celestia followed her. Royal sisters lit their horns and focused on moving their celestial bodies to their place the light fading from their horns they walked back in.

"We have much to catch on mother, but I must attend to the realm of dreams. I hope we can have time together later." Luna said and flew towards her tower. Celestia sits down on the bed next to her mom.
"I... we missed you so much. When we were told you were gone I didn't know what to do. That stallion who looked after us after you were gone did his best and raised us like we were his own." Celestia talked.
"Discord... You sweet idiot. Thank you once more." Faust thought to herself silently while listening to Celestia.
"Did you... Were you two an... you know an item... Together I mean." Celestia asked. Faust's face went red hearing the question.
"That's a little harder to explain. If you don't mind I wouldn't want to talk about that right now." Faust said while having crimson red cheeks.
Celestia had a smile on her face. "I won't press it if you don't want to talk about it. He would have been a nice stepdad and I'm sure dad would have wanted you to be happy." Celestia said and in turn, her face went red before asking.
"I missed our little cuddle time back when I and Luna were foals could we do it again?" Celestia finished trying to keep a straight face.
Faust smiled warmly "Of course Tia. I know we can't get back lost time, but this is a good replacement." Faust said and tapped her bed on her left side and Celestia laid down next to her mother. Faust starts to rub Celestia's mane and starts to hum an old lullaby and soon Celestia falls asleep and not long after that Faust follows her into the realm of dreams.

The night moves forward while Celestia and Faust are asleep. Faust wakes up hearing someone entering the room through the balcony. Opening her eye a little to see it was none other than Luna. Opening her eyes completely she looks at Luna who had a very downed look on her face.
"I know that look, Lulu. You know you can talk to me about anything." Faust said while carefully getting into a sitting position as not to wake Celestia. Luna sits on Faust's other side looking like she's ready to burst into tears.
"I'm sorry" Luna says without looking her mother into her eyes. Faust looks questioning at Luna.
"Sorry? Sorry for what?" she asks. Luna looks into her mother's eyes and Faust can see her crying and feel her sadness and guilt radiating from her.
"I almost destroyed Equus by bringing eternal night into the world and tried to kill my only sister all out of jealousy. I failed you, father and Celestia. And I'm sorry for doing it. I'm just a monster." Luna said with shaky words and letting her tears flow freely. Faust couldn't take it any longer and pulled Luna into a hug.
"Shhh... My little star. There is nothing you must apologize to me. I'm the one who failed you both so I should be the one apologizing, not you." Faust says while holding Luna close to her and rubs her mane calming her down.

"How can you say that? Didn't you hear what I said? I'm a monster who tried to destroy all you and father stood for." Luna said still speaking shakily.
"You might be a monster, but you are my daughter. There is nothing you can do that would stop me loving you." Faust says while continuing to rub Luna's mane.
"But... I..." Luna tries to speak up but is interrupted.
"I don't know what happened to you when you did what you did. But I love you and so does Celestia. I'm sure whatever you did it wasn't you. I know my little star and she couldn't do something like that not willingly." Faust tells Luna and continues to soothe her.
Luna stays near her mother and holds her more tightly "Thank you." Luna says and Faust starts to hum her lullaby again while rubbing Luna's mane continuing to soothe her. It takes a while but Luna's tears are used and she falls asleep. Helping her to lay next to her Faust lays down in the middle of Luna and Celestia.
"Oh, Sun where ever you are I know you are proud of our daughters. Thank you for everything, Sun." Faust said before closing her eyes once again drifting back into sleep.

The night passed and three alicorns got up. Luna and Celestia lowered the moon and raised the sun. Celestia was little taken back on seeing Luna back in her room sleeping with them, but after Faust explained what happened Celestia understood why. Celestia guided her mother to the dining room to get some breakfast. All three ate some salads and hay fries after that Luna left for her room to continue her sleep.
"So Tia what are you going to do today?" Faust asked while they were walking through the halls of the castle. Faust could hear whispers and murmurs coming from ponies around them.
"I plan to show you what I normally do and when we have a break there is a certain pony I plan on to show you around." Celestia said. Entering into the room many ponies were sitting at the table and they all had some odd dresses on them or so Faust thought. One pony got up from his seat.
"Your highness may I ask what is she doing here?" Unicorn said pointing at Faust.
"I'm showing my mother what I do around here and you have no right to tell where she should be, Fire Spirit" Celestia said annoyed.

"Your mother yeah right. I can sense her magic reservoirs and she has nowhere near your level. If she was your mother I'm sure she would be stronger than you. I challenge this imposter to duel with our magic." Fire Spirit said. Celestia's face was starting to turn red from anger, but before she could say anything Faust beat her to it.
"Oh, like those training battles back in the academy I could use little refreshing." Faust said and Celestia slammed her face. Nothing could be done now the duel was accepted so there was no way for her to stop it. That young noble is so rash and I'm sure his family will be angry after his defeat after this one.
"Very well, clear the area I will make you two an area to proceed with your duel." Celestia said and lit her horn to summon an area where they could continue with their duel. The rest of the nobles gathered around to see the event. Fire Spirit was one of the most powerful Unicorns in Canterlot, but his opponent was an alicorn.
"Since I'm overseeing this dual I make the rules. Fire Spirit and Faust each of you must cast a spell to break others' defensive spell. The one to do it faster wins or the one whose defense isn't broken wins. Are the rules of this duel clear?" Celestia says and gets nods from her mother and Fire Spirit.

"Since you challenged her to duel you get to be the first to cast a spell to destroy Faust's defenses. Faust Lorey, which item or spell or other are you using to defend yourself?" Celestia asks.
Faust starts to think for a moment and sees some papers on the table. Lifting one with her magic she presents it.
"I defend myself with this." Faust says having a giddy smile on her face.
A clear tick mark could be seen on Fire Spirits head. "Are you mocking me!? Fine, you are somepony who should be in the institute for mentally sick ponies." Fire Spirit said and started to gather his magic and unleashed a devastating fire spell at the paper.
Celestia was looking at the display and gritting her teeth at the mention of her mother being somepony who is mentally sick it made her angry, but she held it back and didn't show it.
"Easy, as I said she is just a fraud." Fire Spirit said, but after the smoke disappeared the paper was there completely unharmed.

"That's not possible! She must have cheated somehow!" Fire Spirit yelled angry while pointing and accusing Faust of cheating.
"Rule number 1 of magic-using is Imagination. You are welcome to try it again." Faust said waving the piece of paper.
Fire Spirit was already charging up for the next spell, but Celestia landed between them.
"It's over Fire Spirit. Faust won the duel now back off." Celestia said while looking angrily at the unicorn.
Fire Spirit mumbled something to himself bowed down and left the meeting room.
"Now that's settled how about we continue onward to the meeting." Celestia said as the area she summoned disappeared into nothingness. Everypony gave an approving nod and the meeting was on the way. The meeting and the talk could be compressed into a one-word boring. After the last of the subjects were dealt they left the room and headed towards the dining room.

"Celestia? Are all your days like that?" Faust asked.
"Not all, but most of them are. Those nobles are so annoying they are like kids who want another dessert after the first one." Celestia answered and let out a long sigh. Arriving at the dining room the chefs bring some artfully crafted foods in front of them and they both begin to eat.
"So who is this special pony who is going to keep me company while you are busy?" Faust asked
"She should be here soon." Celestia said while eating and soon the main door to the room opened.
"Cadance welcome." Celestia said.
"So should I call you a grand-aunt or just Faust?" Cadance said while smiling.
"Faust is enough Princess Mi Amore Cadenza." Faust answered.
"Then I ask you to call me Cadance. After you're done with your food I'll show you around Canterlot." Cadance said. 
"Thank you Cadance. Can't wait for it." Faust said eager for the chance to explore around this new time she was in, eating the rest of her food, and left the room with Cadance to explore around Canterlot.

Canterlot




The days turn fast into weeks and then months. Faust was learning more and more of this new Equestria she was now living. Cadence was one who helped her to get accustomed to this new time. Also Celestia's student Twilight Sparkle the purple unicorn whom she met first when she arrived back into Equus. Twilight was always having tons of questions and Faust was more than happy to answer any of them even those considering Celestia's and Luna's foal hood. Faust could still remember the look on Twilight's face when she told that Celestia was always trying to steal some extra cookies from the pantry. Faust had also learned of the coming wedding of her new friend Cadance. She was getting married to this Captain Shining Armor who indeed was Twilight Sparkles' older brother. Today she and Cadance were supposed to meet at the library, but she didn't arrive she didn't even message her that she would skip their daily meeting which was odd so Faust decided to go and see her. Walking through the halls of the castle asking where Cadance was she was told she should be in her room and soon she arrived at the door which had Cadaces cutie mark she knocked at the door.

"Cadance you there?" Faust asked.
"What is it, peasant! I'm a princess and should be treated as such." Cadance said from sounding angry.
"What? It's me Faust we had a meeting at the library today and you didn't show up?" Faust said wondering what had happened. Hearing hoove steps coming closer to the door which burst open and there was Cadance standing in front of Faust first having an angry look at her then it changed to that of surprised.
"Can I come in?" Faust asked while looking at her friend.
"What... Oh, yes of course come right in Princess Faust." Cadance said and Faust entered the room and Cadance closed the door. Walking into the room Faust was getting worried Cadance never called her princess maybe because she wasn't one so she decided to do one of her own magical checkups on her. She recognized that magic signature it wasn't that of an alicorn it was something she hasn't sensed in ages it was that of a changeling. Faust faced "Cadance".

"Where is the real Cadance? You aren't her you're a changeling." Faust said having angry look on her face. "Cadance" was taken aback by that comment she has managed to fool Celestia and Luna, but this alicorn just walks in and immediately sees through her disguise. A green fire engulfed her and she reveals her real form.
"Well and who might you be? I thought there were only three alicorns not four. Even Celestia couldn't see through my disguise so how did you?" the changelings asked.
"I ask again who are you?" Faust asked anger clearly radiating from her face.
"I am Queen Chrysalis and it's my job to gather love for my hive and Canterlot has lots of it."
"Your ancestors traded love with my kind, a long time ago you should do the same." Faust said while taking a defensive stance.

"Trade? With cattle how humorous." Chrysalis said taunting and letting out a beam of magic from her horn. Faust summoned her magic to form a shield around her and hold off the attack, but she could feel that strain on her body again.
"How? I should have much more magic in me than this how can I start to feel my limit already?" Faust thought while small cracks appeared on the shield. Faust used her experience and let some of the magic through her shield and reformed it around her shield. Doing so for a couple of seconds she released the energy her shield blowing and releasing energy that pushed Chrysalis to the wall hard. Panting hard Faust could feel her magic energy getting weaker. Chrysalis let out an angry roar and another bigger beam of magic hit Faust who managed to raise her shield back up, but this time it was overpowered after a couple of seconds. Faust lay on the ground feeling pain all over her body. Chrysalis walked next to her and assumed the form of Cadance again. Four soldiers appeared from green flames through the floor. Chrysalis took a sword from one of the guards and stepped Faust through her leg with it. Feeling the pain shoot from her legs Faust lets out a loud cry of pain.
"Hurts, doesn't it? Take here into the mines with the other princess." She yelled to the guards and soon the green flames engulfed Faust and darkness took her.




Caverns under Canterlot




"Faust! Faust! Can you hear me! Please something!" Faust could hear a voice it was a mare by the sound of it. She could feel her leg getting healed, but not entirely and the pain was still there. Opening her eyes she sees Cadance her horn lit and focusing her magic on Faust's leg.
"Cadance? You're okay. I was worried something bad happened to you." Faust said having a smile on her face and coughing.
"There, I managed to heal some of your wounds, but you need help. We need to get out of here. And what happened to you? who could do something like this to you?" Cadance asked. Words that Celestia said to her on her first day in Canterlot popped into her mind "We asked for a doctor just to be safe. He told that your magic is fluctuating oddly like something is holding it back." What happened to her during her time in the void?
"My magic. Something is wrong with it. Something happened to me when I was locked in the void." Faust said and got up leaning on Cadance for support. Soon they heard someone yelling.

"Hello anypony there!?" the voice yelled. Cadence and Faust started to move towards the voice. After a walk through the caverns, they found the source of the sound.
"Twilight! Are you okay?" Cadance said dashing forward but stopped when the mare pointed her with her horn glowing and ready to attack.
"Stay away you two! You won't fool me twice!" Twilight said clearly panicking. Cadence stops before beginning to dance?
"Sunshine sunshine ladybugs awake clap your hooves and do a little shake." Cadance sang and finished her dance.
"Cadance it's really you!" Twilight released the magic she was holding and dashed forward to hug Cadance almost crushing her.
"Twilight! Air!" Cadance said and Twilight released her noticing Faust limping towards the two.
"Faust! Are you okay?" Twilight asks, but before Faust gets a chance to answer Chrysalis appears floating over them.

"Now isn't this a sweet sight. Unfortunately, I need to get rid of you three you know too much to be left alive." Chrysalis said and shoot a beam of green magic at the roof and stones started to fall.
"It was nice to know you." Chrysalis said and disappeared engulfed in green flames once more. More and more rocks start to fall from the roof and a couple of them make hits on all three of them. Panting they do their best to dodge them, but one rock hits Cadance and knocks her out. Faust has an idea. A stupid idea, but it might just save her friends.
"Twilight get next to Cadance and stay still." Twilight looks at Faust questioning look on her face but does as she says and soon a bubble of protective magic appears around her and Cadance.
"Faust! What are you doing!" Twilight said.
"Your magic hasn't recovered enough to help me create a shield for us and mine is strong enough to shield you two. I won't let you two die here. You two have so much of life left to live and Cadance needs to get back to her stallion." Faust smiled at the unicorn who tried her best not to let her emotions get the better of her while trying to cast protective magic around Faust, but her energy hasn't recovered yet. The first stone hit her and Faust could feel the pain flow through her body, but she ignored it and focused on keeping the shield up around her friends. More rocks hit her some were sharp and pierced her and some were blunt cracking some bones. Finally, after what felt like hours, the cave in stopped, Faust's magic disappeared and she herself collapsed to the ground panting heavily while losing the feeling in her body.
"Faust!" Twilight yelled and dashed to Faust's side.

Cadance was waking up placing her hand on her head.
"Owww... My head." Cadance said while rubbing her head. Looking around she sees Faust on the ground bleeding badly and Twilight trying her best to heal her.
"Come on Faust! Don't give up!" Twilight yells trying to cast different healing spells while her eyes are wet from tears. Seeing this Cadance moves towards them and gets next to Twilight trying to assess the situation. Doing a scan on Faust, Cadance is horrified at how badly wounded she is and her heartbeat is slow and getting slower. Joining in to help Twilight heal her. Doing their best Cadance and Twilight were hard on focusing on healing Faust, but all they managed to do was slow the inevitable. Faust's heartbeat was almost gone.
"I'm sorry Faust. I'm not good at healing spells. There is nothing I or Twilight can do." Cadance said. Faust raised her hand and both mares took hold of it.
"I'm sure you tried all you could. Please tell Celestia and Luna that I'm sorry for leaving them for good. And be there for them once I'm gone." Faust said while feeling the need to just lay down and sleep.
"We promise." Cadance and Twilight said. Faust gave a reassuring smile to them and her arm went limp and fell to the ground next to her once her heart stopped. Cadance and Twilight were crying when Chrysalis appeared over them.
"Awww... So the white one is gone. I'm going to deal with you two later for now I have a stallion to marry." Chrysalis said taunting them and disappearing while laughing like a true villain.
Twilight got up and helped Cadance on her legs. "Cadance we must move now. Faust gave us a chance to stop Chrysalis we... we can't let her sacrifice to be in vain." Twilight said trying to sound confident. Cadance gave a nod, she kneeled down and kissed Faust on her forehead.
"Thank you for everything Faust. I'll see you get a proper burial after this is over." Cadance said and left with Twilight in search of escape.




In-Between




Faust opened her eyes she couldn't feel pain at all getting up she looked around herself and it was all white. Getting up she started to run around, but everywhere she run there was only white.
"Hello! Where am I!" Faust yelled into the nothingness. Nothing. The silence was her answer until she heard a voice behind her.
"You look as beautiful as the day when I left for the battle." A warm voice full of love said behind Faust. Every fur on her stood up. Silently she turned around to see a stallion she hasn't seen in thousands of years. There was a light grey alicorn stallion. He was a head taller than Faust and his cutie mark was depicting a golden shield with a sun in it.
"Sun? Is it really you?" Faust asked while moving her hand to touch his cheek. Taking hold of her hand he pressed it onto his cheek.
"Yes. It's me, my love." He answered while keeping his eye contact with Faust.
"So I really am dead then?" Faust asked while moving closer.
"Yes and no. I am here to help you get back." Sun said.
"But I want to stay with you, my love." Faust said and gave a kiss to her husband.
"I know you want. I want it too, but it isn't your time. Our daughters need you. I have seen how happy you have been with them after you got back." Sun said while the empty white space started to show images of Faust with Celestia and Luna spending time together after her return. Looking at the moments they have shared in the short time she has been back brought a smile to her face.
"Mothers are powerful even more so than fathers. They need you right now." Sun said and the images changed to what was happening in Canterlot.




Canterlot Cathedral




"It's my special day, not yours!" the real Cadance yelled following Twilight into the cathedral.
"How? How are there two Cadances." Celestia asked. The guests looked stunned, but it didn't take long for them to see who is the real one.
"This farce has gone on long enough. I'm Queen of the changelings and it's my duty to get food for my people." Chrysalis said and transformed into her normal form discarding her disguise.
Chrysalis looked at Cadance and Twilight. "So you two ants survived. I had hoped you die in the caverns like that white alicorn." Chrysalis taunted while crashing sounds of the barrier could be heard.
"What? You don't mean... Cadance please say it isn't true." Celestia pleads and looks towards Cadance who just looks shamefully towards the ground.
"You... You monster! We just got her back! Now you'll face the full wrath of the sun! Luna, you take care of our ponies I'll deal with this "Queen"." Celestia yelled and dashed towards the Queen of changelings. Chrysalis didn't have time to react when she was rammed through the wall of the cathedral.
"Twilight! Go and get the elements with other bearers I'm going to help Celestia." Luna said hatred could be clearly heard from her voice and her fur was starting to get dark.
Cadance was running towards Shining to free him, but he was sucked into the ground surrounded by green fire.
"No! Shining!" Cadance yelled after failing to rescue her husband.
Seeing what happened to her brother Twilight ignored Luna's order, she cast a quick location spell and found out where Shining was held. He wasn't far from here.
"Cadance, come with us. Shining is being held somewhere close. We should get him back and then get the elements." Twilight said and started to run towards her brother's location with her friends, Cadance quickly followed her and her friends.

At the streets of Canterlot soldiers were fighting against the invading force of changelings. Black crystalline swords met steel forged swords of the guards and changeling magic was hurled against pony magic. There were losses on both sides, but changelings were ordered to try and keep the livestock alive for further use. At the marketplace Celestia was fighting against Chrysalis, princess of the sun and the queen of changelings were throwing spells against each other there were explosions around when either of them missed their intended target. Luna was fending off the drones that were trying to help their queen against Celestia, but the princess of the night saw to it that not one of the drones managed to reach the queen. Using her magic and the dual moon blades against them Luna did her best not to use lethal force, but the adrenaline and her growing hatred against these creatures who took her mother away were blinding her and her blades and magic started to find vital spots of the drones.
"Come worms! I'll slice each one of you until there is none of you left!" Luna yelled her fur now completely black and dark as the void of space and she continued to attack her enemies around her slicing and disintegrating drone after drone.

Back with Chrysalis and Celestia, their fight had gone on the only difference was that Celestia was starting to feel tired after fighting the queen. Chrysalis wasn't even showing any signs of tiredness. Avoiding another beam of Celestia's magic Chrysalis gave a wicked grin to Celestia.
"How... How is this possible? I am sure I have made hits on you, but there isn't a scratch on you." Celestia said panting heavily launching another beam of energy towards her enemy. Chrysalis shoot her own magic towards the beam dispelling both of them and dispelling Celestia's attack.
"Since you are almost done I can share a secret. You won't believe how much Shining loves your niece. His love has given me an incredible boost in power. As long as I'm linked with Shining I can use his love to heal and amplify my magic and strength." Chrysalis said and started to charge her next spell intending to finish Celestia, but she was interrupted by Luna who kicked her hard and she flew towards the wall of a nearby building.
"Your drones are done "Queen" and you're next. I'm going to take my time cutting you down." Luna said with a dark icy voice that was devoid of any emotion. Celestia looked in at horror her little sister. Nightmare Moon was starting to take her over once more. Celestia stood in front of her sister blocking her from reaching Chrysalis placing her arms on Luna's shoulders.
"Luna, this isn't you don't let her take you over again." Celestia pleaded with her little sister.
"Out of my way Celestia! That monster killed our mother. I'm going to make sure she pays for it." Luna said her eyes starting to morph into slitted eyes.
"I too want to make her pay, but I don't want to slaughter her." Celestia said moving her left hand to Luna's cheek.
"This is my final warning out of my way Celestia!" Luna said anger radiating from her.
"No! I won't let you fall to her level." Celestia said. As those words left her mouth a blade was stabbed through her abdomen. Celestia Looked down at the sword then towards Luna.
"Luna... I..." Celestia tried to speak but fell to the ground coughing blood. Seeing what she did Luna looked horrified at her sister breaking through her feelings of hate her body returning back to normal.
"No! Sister!" Luna yelled her voice full of grief and got down next to her sister doing her best to try and heal the damage she had done.
"I'm sorry, please don't leave me." Luna said crying while removing her blade from Celestia's abdomen and continuing to heal the gashing wound it left.

Chrysalis was about to attack, but watching the exchange between two sisters and seeing Luna stab Celestia was something she hasn't anticipated, but she did welcome it.
"You truly are a warrior princess Luna, but your emotions make you weak. But you have my thanks for taking Celestia down. Now I can take both of you out with one spell." Chrysalis started to summon a dark green ball of magic from her horn and it radiated a massive amount of energy.
"All hail Queen Chrysalis" Chrysalis taunted them and hurled the ball towards two princesses. Luna was still focusing on healing her sister. If she dodged the ball Celestia would surely die from the resulting explosion. If she shielded them Celestia would likely bleed to death while she was holding the protection around them. Luna just hugged her sister and continued to heal her wound.
"I'm sorry, but this seems to be our end after another of my mistakes. At least we will see mom and dad again." Luna said and prepared to face her death. The ball reached the two princesses and there was an explosion of green energy mixed with dark red energy.

In-Between




The images of battle that was going on in Canterlot were flashing in front of Faust at a slow pace. The images of Celestia and Luna fighting against Chrysalis and her army. Faust's face started to form a frown when she saw Luna's fur transforming, it was as dark black as the abyss of space and the way she was cutting down those drones. Faust turned to face Sun.
"What do I have to do to get back?" Faust asked her face full of confidence.
"You know what you have to do. Unlock the seal." Sun answered and took a seat next to Faust.
"Seal? I don't know what you're tal..." Faust didn't manage to finish her sentence as the memories flashed back into her mind. Her time in the void, holding the portals closed with her magic while fighting those devouring monsters. The moment she locked her magic away with a special seal to hold the portals close and how she got expelled from the void after casting the spell and falling from the sky like a meteor. Shaking her head on the returning memories Faust was deep in thought after that.

"But... If I do that I'll break the seals holding the void back too. I can't do that." Faust said and faced down. She could feel a hand under her chin to raise her head up and she was looking straight into Sun's eyes.
"Yes you can. You managed to seal them from the inside. I'm sure you can figure out how to do it outside with help from our daughters. It's time to show the world once more why you are called the Queen of Magic." Sun said and started to rub Faust's mane and gave her last kiss as a goodbye his body started to shimmer until it disappeared.
Faust made her choice and closed her eyes and focused. Sensing the ley lines of Equus, reaching out to the dimensional lines of the universe she could feel the lock she made with her magic. The portals would open in time, but they would have time to research and find a way to stop them from invading. Feeling the dimensional lock, she used her magic to open them releasing the lock and the magic it held inside.





Living World




Faust opened her eyes and felt a rush of power in her body her magic power returning back to that what it was. Her body started to heal itself thanks to her massive magic power that was returning. Feeling her strength returning she got back up from the floor. Her magical aura was clearly visible around her and her mane and tail looked like that of living magma. Squeezing her hands together she summoned her battle regalia. It had a similar design to that of Celestia's, but it had more artistic curves on it and it was pure white. Searching for the energies of her children she felt Celestia's life force, it was weak. Spreading her wings she launched herself to the air passing through the rocks melting them with her magic until she was above the ground. Once there Faust used all of her skills and knowledge to boost the speed of her flight power and launched herself in a blinding flash towards her daughters.

Faust was almost there sensing a massive amount of magical energy on one spot that wasn't Luna's or Celestia's she prepared shielding spells and offensive spells in her mind.
"All hail Queen Chrysalis." She could hear the aggressor yelling taunting her daughters as if she was certain of her victory. Seeing the state Celestia and Luna were she cast the most powerful protection spell she knew around her daughters and slammed her own magic energy against Chrysalis magic causing an explosion of green and dark red magic energies. As the dust started to settle Chrysalis' smile turned to that of confusion which was followed by hate.
"How are you still alive! You were on death's doors!" Chrysalis yelled and launched another beam of magic. Faust wasn't even worried and raised her hand up to catch the magic with it. Holding a ball of raw changeling magic in her hand she squeezes it until it dissipates into nothingness. Seeing this Chrysalis' face changed to that of worry.

"You made one big mistake "Queen" Chrysalis. You have no idea who you just angered." Faust said her voice full of anger and looked straight into Chrysalis' eyes. This alicorn was something else her dark red magic aura was clearly visible and it felt more powerful than it was in Cadances room and more importantly, it was more powerful than that of Celestia's or Luna's. Chrysalis' worry started to grow and used the hivemind to call for her swarm. 
"I don't know how you managed to get this much magical power, but I still hold Shi..." Chrysalis didn't get a chance to finish her rant as Faus disappeared and reappeared in front of Chrysalis delivering a strong punch to her stomach cracking the changeling queens enchanted shell around it making Chrysalis fly through the air until stopping at the nearby wall and getting buried under the rubble of the falling wall. Appearing next to Luna, Faust looked at her eldest who was squirming in pain.
"Lulu, take your sister and yourself somewhere safe. Mommy's going to take care of this." Faust said and turned to face Chrysalis who was still gathering herself among the rubble.
"No, Mom I need to stay here and help you after I stabilize Celestia I can help you fight her." Luna tried to argue with her mother.
"I know you can Lulu, but right now Celestia needs help more than I need your help." Faust said without looking at Luna. Knowing her mother Luna knew it was pointless to try and argue with her once her mind was made up.
"Alright, mother. You better explain where you were." Luna said and started to relax a little and focus to teleport herself and Celestia to the Canterlot Hospital. Once they were gone Faust looked to the rubble Chrysalis was still in there, hiding.

"I know that punch wasn't enough to take you down. If it was Luna and Celestia would have dealt with you already." Faust said and started to walk towards Chrysalis.
Chrysalis pit her tongue this alicorn had seen through her charade again. It was pointless to try and buy any more time so she rose up and let out an angry hissing sound.
"That punch was strong indeed. But not enough to take me down. I can't be taken out as long as I'm linked to Shining Armor." Chrysalis said her chitin repairing itself.
Raising her brow and looking bored at Chrysalis Faust rolled her eyes and opened her mouth. "I know, you have a love transfer spell on a dominated mind slave. I can say it's not the normal use of your magic, but it's a pretty boring mix in my opinion." Faust finished flashing a grin to Chrysalis.
Now Chrysalis was worried this mare knew exactly what she did to Shining Armor. When she only told she was linked to Shining Armor. This Alicorn was dangerous she needed to take her out now.
Faust noticed how the Queen changeling's state of mind changed from confident to worrying. Faust could feel Twilight and Cadance's energies getting close to Shining Armor all she had to do was hold this Queen back until the link was disconnected, true she could obliterate her with one spell, but that amount of magic might disintegrate much of the surrounding area which included innocent ponies hiding in their buildings. Seeing Chrysalis charging her next magic attack, Faust decided to play defensive in hopes to play for time.




Canterlot Vaults




Twilight with her friends was running through the vaults of Canterlot. Twilight was focusing and leading them towards her brother's location, feeling Shining's magic energy growing stronger the closer they got to him.
"I can feel Shinings energy it's getting stronger he should be close." Twilight said while running through the hallways past different doors. It didn't take them long to reach the door which was slightly open and Twilight could feel Shining's energy inside. Before they opened the door they heard arguing from the inside and decided to open it up a little to spy and gather some info. They could see many changelings gathered around while two of them were the source of the argument.
"You're insane brother! Our Queen always thinks what's best for us." A drone with purple-colored eyes and carapace said clearly a little angered.

"Pharynx, you're my brother and I respect you, but surely you too can see that this is stupid. Attacking the greatest military might in Equus is suicide. You're one of the generals that Chrysalis listens and respects, surely you can make her stop this madness." Said a drone with cyan-colored eyes and carapace showing concern in his eyes. The anger had disappeared and Pharynx lets out a sigh while looking away from his brother.
"Thorax... She is our Queen and we must follow orders. It doesn't matter what I think about this situation. I might not like this, but what other choice do I have? Go against her? She is Queen for a reason." Pharynx said. Before Thorax managed to answer all of the changelings raised their as if searching or hearing something.
"You stay here and guard the prisoner Thorax! The rest of you follow me! Our Queen needs us!" Pharynx said and all of them disappeared in green flames except Thorax.
Once Pharynx and the other changelings were gone Thorax turned his head towards the door. "You can come in now. I won't fight against you." The changeling said and just sit down on a nearby chair.


Hearing this the girls were puzzled but entered inside preparing to counter any ambush. Thorax saw this and let out a chuckle.
"You need not worry Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, I mean no harm to you or your friends." Thorax said while Twilight did scans around the room not finding anything or anyone hiding. Cadance and Twilight run to tend Shining while other girls stayed near the changeling.
"Why? Why would you betray your kind like this?" Rainbow said breaking the silence while looking a little irritated.
"If somepony has betrayed our kind it's Chrysalis. Some of us in the hive doesn't want this war, but after the scouts returned from Canterlot and said how much love it held all Chrysalis could see was power." Thorax explained while taking a bottle holding some glowing green liquid in it taking a sip from it.
"Ooo... what's that can I have some of it? It has a nice glow on it. How tasty it is?" Pinkie asked from behind Thorax once again moved without no one seeing her move. Thorax almost choked on his drink.
"Pinkie darling, leave the poor changeling alone." Rarity said using her magic to levitate Pinkie away.
"Thorax was it... You seem nicer than most changelings..." Fluttershy said with her shy voice.

Before Thorax had a chance to thank Fluttershy Cadance walked to them while Twilight let out annoying voices at her failure.
"You said you didn't want this war? Prove it to us. Tell me how I free my Shining from this spell." Cadance said looking intimidating.
"All you had to do was ask Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. The strongest changeling spells revolve around love. This partial spell mixture requires the kiss from one's true love to be dispelled." Thorax answered. Hearing this Cadance rushed to his husband's side giving him a long and loving kiss. During their kiss, the green shimmer in Shinings eyes started to disappear slowly until it was all gone and Shining's consciousness returned and his face started to brighten up until he started to respond to Cadance's kiss. To two lovers the moment felt like an eternity and once it was over Shining had a look of happiness on his face.

"I knew you would come for me Cadance. I'm sorry I didn't notice sooner that it wasn't you." Shining said while holding Cadance's cheek with his hand.
"I feared I lost you. I don't know what I would have done if that happened." Cadance said with tears of happiness flowing down her cheeks. Thorax got up from the chair and gave a bow to Cadance.
"For whatever it's worth I'm sorry for my kinds, transgression. All I ask of you is that you show mercy for them after the battle is won." Thorax said and lit his horn.
"Wait, Thorax what are you doing?" Twilight asked.
"I failed my duty to Chrysalis. If they don't find my body I'm branded as a traitor and given kill on sight orders by her. My best choice is to leave the hive. I hope I can find friends like you in my new life." Before anyone managed to stop him Thorax disappeared engulfed in green flames.
"Twilight, we should head towards the vault and get the elements." Applejack said, Twilight gave a nod.
"The battle isn't over yet girls. Let's get the elements and help princesses to win this battle." Twilight said and left guiding her friends towards the vault.




Streets of Canterlot




Faust was battling with Chrysalis while waiting for Twilight and Cadance to find Shining and dispel the spells so she could deal with the bug without destroying too much Canterlot. She had to give it to this Queen was a good combatant with her hidden daggers managing to give a good couple of slashes that Faust didn't manage to block with her summoned ethereal blades. Even her magic was good, but not near her level.
"Why aren't you attacking? Scared? Know that I'm going to win this battle?" Chrysalis taunted while using her magic to teleport to the alley behind Faust and shoot her magic towards the back of her target.
"Not going to work on me, dear." Faust said and enchanted her wings with her magic to deflect the incoming spell. Chrysalis' face was full of anger. It seems to be pointless to use magic against this alicorn. Chrysalis saw Faust's horn glowing with a red aura.

"Here's something for trying." Faust said while having a wicked smile on her. Chrysalis felt something at her back turning to face it she could see a red ball attached to her back.
"Oh... fuuu..." Chrysalis said panicking, but before she managed to do anything it exploded throwing her away from her hiding place to the hooves of Faust. With pure instinct, Chrysalis draw her daggers to attack the alicorn. Faust summoned her ethereal blade and used it to block the queen's attacks. Faust cursed to herself while clashing with blades against the queen bug. True she had recovered all of her power, but even though her body had healed but her body was getting tired. She had to hold on and keep all of the ponies and most importantly her daughters safe. The exchange of blades went on for a while until Chrysalis felt her swarm that was almost here. Retreating to the air, she meets with her drones.

"You're a strong one I'll give you that, but I'm fairly certain you can't stand against an entire swarm when we all release combined spell against you. It might even take half of the Canterlot out." Chrysalis taunted and suddenly she felt a cold shiver while taking a quick look towards the castle. This didn't go unnoticed by Faust she felt the link between Shining Armor and Chrysalis disappear. The queen was vulnerable now. But before she got to attack Chrysalis beat her to it.
"Now my servants attack with your Queen!" All of the changelings above cast the same destructive spell on different strengths until the beams met on one spot creating a ball of destruction which kinds Faust hasn't seen in ages.
"If that explodes it takes a good half of the city with it." Faust though and quickly started to form her magic around the incoming destruction.
"You should have just surrendered when you had a chance. Most of our livestock will probably die with you, but it's a worthy sacrifice to get rid of you." Chrysalis taunted while having one of her famous evil smiles. Faust was hard at work spinning and weaving her magic around the ball creating a barrier of sorts to hold the massive amounts of magic energy inside trying to neutralize the threat. Lots of royal guards and alerted night guards watched the massive ball approaching them while seeing a red barrier slowly forming around it.
"Almost done, just a little more." Faust said to herself while continuing to build the barrier until it was fully completed. When the barrier was ready Faust slammed her hands together as if crushing the great ball making it explode. There was a great flash and a chain reaction of explosions started while Faust kept her concentration, holding her arms together. If anything broke her concentration or she released her hands the wild energies storming inside the barrier would be released and the city would surely get destroyed.

Twilight arrived outside of the castle with her friends while Cadance and Shining followed. They all sensed the massive energies coming from the direction of the cathedral and dashed towards it. When they arrived they noticed the ball was starting to get surrounded by a barrier and noticed that Faust was there. Before they managed to move to her side all of them heard a voice inside their heads.
"We don't have much time. I'm a still target here so I need you to follow my orders to the letter. Shining and Cadance use your powers to recast the shielding spell around the city. Twilight you and your friends use the elements to enhance the spell so that it won't just be drained by the changelings. Now would be a good time to do it."
Without a second to spare they did as they were told. Cadance and Shining lit their horns pressed them against each other.
"Together!" Shining and Cadance said loudly at the same time and the ball started to form expanding outwards from them. Twilight guided the other element bearers and used herself as the conduit to apply the magic of harmony onto the shielding spell.

Chrysalis was watching at the spectacle taking in the air and enjoying the approaching victory. All seemed fine until a purple wall started to move towards them. Chrysalis didn't get a chance to yell orders to her drones when the wall hit all of them. They could feel the energy in the shield and it wasn't long until the shield started to push all of the changelings out from the great city. Chrysalis and her drones tried their best to fight the magic, but it was a losing battle. Cursing the ponies and their magic Chrysalis could at least take glee at the fact that the white alicorn and half of the Canterlot were as good as gone.
Faust saw that the shield spell managed to knock out all of the changelings now all she had to do was deal with a massive bomb that would destroy Canterlot if she failed no big deal at all. Closing her eyes she focused and let out words of magic commanding the explosions to stop.
"Nolite et Dissipare!" After she uttered those words the explosions just stopped and the energies within her bubble disappeared. Releasing her hands and letting her barrier disappear too Faust started to feel her body getting tired while hearing loud cheers coming around her. Faust let out a laugh and feel to her rump and then to her back feeling some of her older wounds open back up while the new ones burned.
"Ouch..." was all she said while faintly hearing Cadance calling her name before closing her eyes and falling asleep.
> The Hospital

Ponies were fixing and building back up the houses and other structures that were destroyed or damaged during the invasion of changelings. Also, there were talks about building a statue in honor of this new princess that had appeared in Canterlot and saved the day. According to the soldiers who managed to catch glimpses of her battling changeling leader who Celestia and Luna were not able to defeat this alicorn did with ease, she even saved both of them from her devastating attack. The battle happened only two weeks ago and the city was well on its way to its former glory thanks to the work ponies were doing. Some of the nobility and royal guards knew who she was and her relations to the princesses, but a large population of Equestria were still guessing who she was and where she came from. Even now working ponies who were taking coffee breaks during the work talked and wondered just who she was some of the nobles were even planning to court her.




Canterlot Hospital - Royal Wing




Canterlot Hospitals' royal wing held a white alicorn sleeping in a huge bed while wired into different medical equipment that let out pipping sounds now and then. The room was large considering it was designed to held royalty having a balcony in it. Faust started to open her eyes hearing the steady pipping of the machines and looking around the room. Seeing her surroundings she deducted she must be in some sort of hospital. Getting up to a sitting position she sees her daughters sitting on a couch clearly sleeping while leaning at each other. Celestia seemed okay hopefully she's healed up that wound on her stomach looked really bad. Faust heard knocking from her door and soon a white earth pony entered inside wearing a nurse outfit. Seeing that Faust was awake she had a warm smile on her face.
"Miss Faust you're awake. That's good, my name is Redheart and I'm your nurse. I'm here to take readings so nothing special." Nurse said and walked around the room and wrote down different numbers from the equipment around the room. Once she was done she walked next to Faust's bed and took.
"Are you in any pain? Any weird feelings?" Nurse asked.
"Nothing miss Redheart. My body feels a little sore. Feels like I have been sleeping for days." Faust answered and tried to stretch her hands, but was stopped by Redheart.

"I wouldn't do that miss. You've been sleeping for almost two weeks. You should just stay still and wait for a while. If that soreness won't go away we might need to look more closely at it." Redheart said and took some pills from her pocket and placed them down on the table next to Faust's bed while writing something again. Faust looked towards her daughters feeling guilty about how she might have made them feel while she was sleeping.
"Are my daughters okay?" Faust asked while looking at Celestia and Luna's sleeping forms.
"They are okay. Princess Celestia had a deep stab wound on her stomach, but thanks to Luna's first aid we managed to save her. She should be fine, but nothing highly stressful for the whole month for her." Redheart said and finished writing her notes. Faust let out a sigh of relief.
"That's good, thank you miss Redheart." Faust said and laid back down
"I left some pills for you on the table. Take two of those if you feel intense pain and rest. You also have some visitors. You want to see them?" Redheart asked. Faust gives a nod to her and Redheart leaves the room.

A short moment after the nurse left the room Faust heard another knock from the door. Getting back up into a sitting position she cleared her mouth before speaking.
"Come in." Faust said and the door opened Cadance entered followed by her husband Shining Armor who was carrying a box and a big kettle with black liquid in it most likely coffee. Cadance gave a bow followed by a silly-looking one from the stallion carrying so much made it hard for him to do it.
"Cadance, you don't need to do something like that. We are friends after all also I'm not royalty." Faust said laughing a little.
"That's not true. You're aunties mom so in my books you are royalty isn't that right dear?" Cadance asked from her husband who just gave a nod and placed items he was carrying to a nearby table.
"Your highness may I ask for a favor?" Shining asks. Faust rolls her eyes.
"You may, but drop the highness it's just Faust." She answers.

"Alright Miss Faust, I heard how you dealt with the duel against that noble. How did you manage to block a fire spell with paper? I know you can enhance material durability with magic, but that paper should have light up, on contact with fire." Shining finished his question and Faust gave a knowing smile to him.
"You aren't thinking enough with your imagination. Magic can be used in many different ways. Including wrapping a vacuum around the paper which in turn takes away the oxygen fire needs to survive thus leaving my paper undamaged. I could show you how it's done." Faust explained while Cadance walked to Celestia.
"Auntie, wake up." Cadance said while shaking Celestia trying to wake her up.
"Wha... Cadance?" Celestia answers looking at her adopted niece with tired eyes.
"She's awake auntie." Cadance says giving a warm smile to her adoptive aunt. Celestia takes a quick and worried look towards her mother seeing her talking to Captain Armor she starts to in turn shake Luna.
"Lulu, wake up." Celestia says playfully shaking her little sister trying to wake her up and she starts to groan sounding annoyed.
"Five more minutes Tia." Luna says trying to return to her slumber.
"Mom's awake come on sleepy head." Celestia says and it has an immediate effect on the blue alicorn, her eyes shot open.

"She is? Why didn't you say so to begin with?" Luna said and got up followed by her sister both walking to each side of their mother's bed while Cadance and Shining took a seat on the couch letting three alicorns have their moment.
"So... how are you feeling mom?" Celestia asked while having a sad look on her face like Luna.
Faust let out a little laugh hearing this question. "Apart from my sore body I think I'm fine Tia." Luna took hold of her mother's hand and Faust turned to face her.
"I don't know what I would have done if we lost you again mother. I almost... almost killed my sister because I thought you were gone. I was blinded by rage hearing what Chrysalis had done to you." Luna said showing much regret on her face while looking away from her mother. Faust placed her hand on Luna's cheek and turned her back to look at her.
"I know Lulu. But it isn't your fault. I'm the one to blame for this situation. I wasn't there to teach you about this. But I will do so after I'm out of this bed." Faust said doing her best to comfort her youngest.
"What do you mean mother? Teach us what?" Celestia asked.
"Cadance should attend too. It's about our magic Tia. Alicorns magic is highly linked to our emotions and you could say it's a living being. But now is not a place for magic lectures." Faust said. It wasn't long before there was a knock on the door.

"Come in." Faust said and soon the elements entered into the room followed by three younger foals. Faust recognized Twilight the one in front of them. She could feel a link between them one that she hadn't felt in a long long time.
"Twilight. It's good to see you. I take these are your friends and wielders of elements of harmony." Faust said and Twilight gave a smile to her.
"Yes, they are my friends, and yes we wield the elements of harmony." Twilight answered. While all of them gathered around Faust's bed.
"So may I ask your names? I already know Twilight and the pink one I've met once, but can't recall her name." Faust asked. In a split, the second Pinkie was next to Faust.
"Oh... I'm Pinkie Pie we already met remember?" Pinkie asked and felt magic lifting her off the bed.
"Forgive my friend your highness she's just a little... hyperactive. I'm called Rarity." Rarity said and gave a bow to Faust.
"I'm called Applejack. A pleasure to meet you, princess Faust." Applejack said and took her hat off and gave a bow.
"I'm called Rainbow Dash the fastest flier in all of Equestria and soon the captain of Wonderbolts." Rainbow said cockily while floating in the air.
"I... I'm called Fluttershy princess Faust." Fluttershy answered with a shy voice while avoiding eye contact.

"Pleasure to meet all of you. Now, who are these three?" Faust said pointing towards the three fillies in the room who were still searching for their special talent.
"I'm Sweetie Belle princess." the white filly unicorn answered.
"I'm called Apple Bloom princess Faust." the yellow earth pony filly said.
"I'm Scootaloo." the orange pegasus filly said. Looking closely at this one Faust could see her wings seemed wrong they looked way too small for a filly of her age.
"And together we are the Cutie Mark Crusaders!" all three said placing their hands over each other and cheering while raising their hands into the air. Faust gave a hearty laugh hearing three little fillies cheering.
"That's a lovely club name. It's wonderful to meet all of you. But I would want you to drop the princess part just Faust is enough. So do you need something from me?" Faust finished while taking a more comfortable seat on her bed.

"We wanted to see the fabled mother of Princesses. I myself had heard stories and theories during my life about you miss Faust." Rarity said.
"And I wanted to see the badass that managed to kick the butt of changeling queen with ease and helped our egghead to cast spells to repel the changelings from Canterlot." Rainbow said with a voice full of adoration.
"I myself had some doubts of you being the mother of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. I'm ashamed to say this but I had a three-day-long research session after first meeting you as if to prove beyond doubt you weren't who you said you were. I found some ancient text pointing out you were telling the truth. I'm sorry I ever doubted you miss Faust." Twilight said apologizing for her act of research and not believing Faust's words.
"There is nothing to forgive Twilight. All you did was search for answers. I would have probably done the same in your shoes. Besides I have lots of stories about Celestia and Luna as foals and most of them are pretty embarrassing." Faust said having a playful smile on her face while Celestia's and Luna's faces turned pale white hearing about this.

"Please Faust. I would like to hear more." Cadance said showing lots of interest in this subject.
"I think I'll spare my daughters from this for now." Faust said giving teasing smile to her daughters who in turn sighed in relief.
"But I can talk about something else if you want to ask any questions. I'll try to answer them if I can. I can already see you have some questions Twilight." Faust said and faced Twilight.
Twilight pulled out a small notepad with multiple papers attached to it. "Well I do have some questions. So let's begin with history. What was..." Twilight began her long list of questions of history while others listened to her questions and Faust gave her answers. It wasn't long until Nurse Redheart returned to inform the visitor hours were over and they should leave soon.

"Well come to visit again tomorrow mother. Try to have some sleep." Celestia said and gave a kiss to her cheek leaving with her sister.
"Come on girls let's head back home." Twilight said and all of them started to leave the room all except Scootaloo who looked extremely sad.
"What's wrong Scootaloo? A filly your age shouldn't look this sad." Faust asked. Hearing this Scootaloo's face stiffened, but the sadness in her eyes didn't leave.
"It's nothing, miss Faust. Just tired." Scootaloo answered and left in a hurry from the room. Faust has seen many different faces, but the look Scootaloo gave was something she hasn't yet seen in all her years of living. Focusing her magic Faust tried to summon an ethereal copy of herself she did remember the spell but wasn't sure if she was recovered enough to do this. Her horn glowed deep blue color and after what seemed like hours Faust was sweating and cast the spell. In front of the bed stood a blue-colored ethereal copy of herself.
"Follow Scootaloo and see that everything is okay and don't be seen by anyone." Faust said to her copy who gave a silent nod and disappeared leaving Faust alone on the bed where she started slowly to drift into the realms of dreams. Not really knowing why but she felt the familiar pain that little filly held in her heart and it was a pain no filly should feel or go through alone.

Torture, that was the word Faust could call her stay in the hospital. It was true her wounds were pretty great, but staying in the hospital was just pure torture to her playful mind. Faust's body was still sore from some of the deeper wounds, but she would be fine leaving the hospital, but no her daughters just had to be so overprotective that she wasn't allowed to leave until doctors said it was okay. It was like she was a prisoner she had tried to cast teleportation to escape the room, but Celestia and Luna had warded the room blocking any magic trying to enter or exit after her first escape attempt, with no way out other than walk out the door which was guarded by solar guards during the day and lunar guards during the night. Currently, Faust was spamming through different channels on the tv to pass the time and groaning. A plan was starting to form inside her head to escape her new prison.
"This is so boooriiinggg!!!!" Faust yelled and soon nurse Redheart entered the room.
"Good day miss Faust. How are you holding this fine day." Redheart asked while taking notes from the machines.
"I'm great. All I can do is look at the boring tv shows and lay here. I'm fine miss Redheart can you clear me out pretty please." Faust asked looking at nurse Redheart while giving the biggest puppy eyes possible.
"I'm sorry miss Faust, but princess Celestia gave strict orders to keep you here until you have fully healed and cleared for release by a doctor. That should be all I need for the day. Take care miss Faust" Redheart said as she closed the book after finished writing into it and turned around to leave.

Not able to take it anymore Faust sapped Redheart with her magic placing her into a deep slumber. With little work, Faust managed to transform herself into a spitting image of nurse Redheart and nurse Redheart into her image. Faust took a quick look at herself admiring her spellwork.
"Haven't lost the touch. But all this power returning to my body is hard to keep hidden. Any unicorn worth their spellcraft can probably sense me from miles." Faust spoke to herself while levitating the nurse into bed and placing the blankets over her and attaching the medical equipment to her before leaving the room through the door.
"Ma'am" one of the guards said to disguised Faust who just nodded to them and left towards the exit.
"All too easy. Now to get out of this boring hellhole." Faust thought to herself, but before she even managed to leave the hallway she bumped with Celestia and Luna.
"Ahh... Nurse Redheart, how is our mother." Celestia asked who was carrying some red roses with her and Luna followed closely behind her.
"Oh crap.... please think that the magic aura I'm emitting comes from my room." Faust was thinking at the same time when she bowed and spoke doing her best to mimic Redheart's voice with her magic.
"Princesses, your mom is fine little tired. She was sleeping while I was visiting her." Faust said and got back up.
"Thank you miss Redheart. Now if you excuse us we want to see our mother." Celestia said and walked past disguised Faust with her sister who stared at her a while and then followed Celestia.
Finally free of her newest prison Faust let out a loud cheer of victory. Multiple ponies looked at her as if she had lost her mind and then walked away from her, ignoring her. Just to be safe Faust kept her disguise on not wanting to draw any unwanted attention as she dashed forward trying to get as much as possible distance between her and the hospital. Faust runs through the streets towards Ponyville wanting to see the lonely pegasus filly.



Back in the Hospital



As the two sisters walked past the nurse Luna was deep in thought.
"What is it, Lulu?" Celestia asked as they walked towards their mother's room.
"That easy to see that something bothers me, sister?" Luna asked while smiling at her sister.
"Maybe..." Celestia said and let out a warm laugh.
"It's just that miss Redheart's aura had hints of mothers magic." Luna said
"Well of course. She is taking care of her so it is only natural that some of the mother's magical residue might latch onto her." Celestia said while they both entered their mother's room walking past the guards.
As Redheart said their mother was sleeping on the bed silently and peacefully. Celestia placed the new roses on the flower pedestal while Luna just stood there. Just to be safe Luna wanted to take her own reading of her mother's condition only to be met by a surprise.
"Sister... could you please take the magical reading of mother's life force too. I must be losing my touch." Luna said already suspecting foul play. Celestia looked at her sister but did as she asked her to do. She too noticed that something was missing from her.
"Her energy feels different. It doesn't have any hints of mothers magic at all. Maybe..." Celestia didn't finish her sentence as she cast a dispel spell on Redheart who woke up and transformed back to herself.
"What... Where... Owww... my head." Redheart said placing her hand on her forehead.
"Really mother? Stunning the nurse and taking her form." Celestia said as she cast a pain relief spell on Redheart and left the room with Luna.
"Guards! Spread out and search for a mare who looks like her." Luna said pointing towards Redheart who was still sitting on the bed's edge. Guards just saluted and gave a firm "Yes ma'am" and left.
"Lulu, let's go. The guards need our help to find her." Celestia said and cast a powerful tracking spell. Both of the sisters left the hospital spread their wings and took off into the air to search for the escaped patient.



Ponyville



Faust was walking through the streets of Ponyville as she felt Celestia's tracking magic reach into her magic.
"Seems like they found out I'm not there anymore, but..." With little focus Faust used her magic to manipulate Celestia's search spell and hid from it. Now that she was safe from her eldest tracking spell she walked toward a two-storied building. Its yard was a mess, and the grass was overgrown, but the house was looking good seeing it was protected with magic. Dispelling her disguise she used her magic to search for a certain filly and felt Scootaloo inside the house. Walking to the door she knocked on the door and waited. It took some time but soon Scootalo was standing in front of her and let out a gasp.
"I... Ehhh... Princess, what are you doing here?" Scootaloo asked and took a quick bow.
"No need to bow Scootalo. Just Faust I'm not royalty. May I come in?" Faust asked while giving a warm motherly smile toward the young filly.
"I... Yeah sure miss Faust." Scootaloo said and guided Faust inside the house. The inside of the house was in good shape no dust anywhere and all the furniture were protected by magic. Once they were in the living room they took a seat. Scootaloo looked nervous and didn't know what to say, but Faust started the conservation.
"Was this your parent's home?" Faust asked carefully.
"It is! They are still out there somewhere I know it!" Scootaloo answered with a hint of anger mixed with sadness while a small teardrop formed in her eye.

"Scootaloo... I know. After you visited me I used my magic to see what was wrong with you. I was worried about the pain and sadness in you... It was the same that I felt during my first years in the void. A filly of your age shouldn't go through this without support." Faust said giving a motherly smile to Scootaloo.
"I... No! Mom and dad are just busy. That's why there haven't been any letters. Yes that's it they are busy!" Scootaloo answered her wall starting to crumble under the weight of her emotions as her eyes started to moist.
"Scootaloo... Have you ever heard of the five stages of grief?" Faust asked as she got up from her seat.
"I'm... Not... Griefing!" Scootaloo said and turned away.
"Aren't you? The way I see it you are currently advancing to stage two, anger." Faust said and walked to Scootaloo and just hugged her letting her warmth and love flow while holding the young filly. Scootaloo's dam finally crumbled down and she let her tears free. After a moment of sadness, Scootaloo spoke up in a weak voice.
"Mom and dad they... they haven't sent any letters in six months. There should be one every month explaining where they are and what they are doing like they normally do." Scootaloo said and took a letter from her pocket.
"This was the last letter I received from them." Scootaloo said and handed it to Faust.




How's my sweet baby girl doing? We are having a wonderful time exploring these old ruins in the mountains far north. We found many old artifacts that we can't place in any know ancient cultures. Snap Shutter says they feel wrong and I have felt it too. One of the artifacts pulses some dark purple energy and we have no idea how is it possible. They have been here for thousands of years maybe more so any traces of magical energy should be long gone. We should be returning to Manehattan in a couple of weeks and from there maybe a quick visit to Ponyville.

After reading the letter Faust's fur stands up. An ancient relic that pulses with dark purple energy. There are not many relics of that kind and not one of them is good. There is a chance Scootaloo's parents are indeed alive, but they are in terrible danger. She couldn't say that they might be alive if there was a chance that they have been used as sacrifices.
"Scootaloo... You need to let go. I can't say what kind of experience you have with your parents but hold onto those memories the good and the bad ones. And you are more than welcome to visit me if you need someone to talk to." Faust said and handed the letter back to the filly.
"I can't... I know they are somewhere." Scootaloo said with a firm voice all of her sadness washed away. Faust was impressed by this. She did plan to visit and look around if this indeed was what she feared it is.
"If you are so sure. Just remember what I said." Faust said and gave a quick hug to the filly.
"I... I think I needed someone to talk to. So thank you, princess." Scootaloo said and returned the hug.
"I'm sorry Scootaloo, but I need to go. I have a couple of places I need to still visit today." Faust said and left for the door.

Once she opened the door, Celestia, Luna, and a couple of royal guards were standing there.
"Hello mother how have you been this fine day." Luna said with an annoyed voice.
"Oh... Hi Luna I have been fine. How did you find me I blocked..." Faust said but didn't get to finish her sentence
"Blocked my magic, but not Luna's magic. So now we are here to escort you back to the hospital you still need time to recover. So will you come with us freely?" Celestia asked. In hurry, Faust had completely forgotten her other daughter.
"Yes... Recover... Hold on just a moment please." Faust said and slammed the door close in front of her daughters and locked it with her magic. She tried to teleport out of the house but felt the same magical block that was in her hospital room.
"Mom! Get out now! We don't want to make a bigger scene out of this!" Celestia yelled.
Scootaloo came from the living room to see what was going on.
"Princess Faust, what's going on?" Scootaloo asked.
"Scootaloo you wouldn't know a way out of here?" Faust asked as the blocked door started to move clearly showing Celestia's magic trying to get through it.
"Well I made an escape tunnel in my room. Come I'll show you" Scootaloo said with a playful smile and dashed towards her room as Faust followed her.
As they exited the tunnel to the backyard of the house Faust was in a hurry and didn't remember to watch around her as she felt someone jumping on her back and sliding a ring to her horn.
"Huzzah! The hunt is over." Luna said as she got up and held her mother's hands behind her back.
"Luna! No! Not again! I'm going to die of boredom in the hospital!" Faust said and heard the armor-clanging noises as Celestia and the royal guard arrived.
"Sometimes I wonder who is the more mature one of us mother." Celestia said and placed magical impression cuffs on her hands.
"Hey! Not fair I already have a horn ring blocking my magic." Faust said clearly disappointed that Celestia had already blocked another of her escape attempts.
"Sorry mother, but knowing you I won't take any risks anymore. It's clear you don't care about your health so we must look after your safety." Celestia said and gave a playful smile to her mother.
"Guards escort us back to the hospital. Our mother needs to return to her room." Luna said as the guards formed around them and they started to move towards the hospital. Celestia already knew that this will make some sort of scene and the press would eat from it and probably invent lots of lies or other crap that some magazines liked to do. It's not an everyday event that two princesses escort the third one in chains back to the hospital since she won't care about her own health.

It had been three days since Faust returned to the hospital spending more of the time bored out of her mind as she waited for the doctor to release her. For now, she just laid there and waited. Her daughters had made her apologize for her actions against Redheart and truth be told she did feel bad doing it to the mare, she was a nice pony and a nice mare to talk with. Faust was pulled out of her thoughts as the door opened to her room and Luna entered inside.
"Good day mother. How are thou today?" Luna asked and took a seat next to her bed. Faust just smiled and pulled her hand through the magic-blocking cuffs that were supposed to hold her in her place like they even weren't there.
"I'm good Lulu. So how's Celestia? Still busy?" Faust asked and Luna just let out a laugh seeing her mother ignore the cuffs that held her in place.

"I wondered why you "gave up" so easily. I told Celestia your skills in magic are far greater than ours. But the question remains the same why?" Luna said and handed some soda to her mother who just smiled.
"Well you two had seen so much trouble to capture me that I just couldn't let all your effort go to waste, it's fun to lose a tag now and then. Also, we should talk about the blocking spells you placed around this room and that of Scootaloo's house. They are good, but there are some holes you could exploit." Faust said and took a sip of the soda.
"And Celestia calls me childish... But I'm sure you tell us all that we need to fix on our spellwork just like back then before... well you know. And thanks to your little trick all of Canterlot  gossip magazines say you're unstable alicorn ready to explode and wreak havoc around all of Equus." Luna said and tossed a magazine on her mother's lap with a big title "First Alicorn criminal" and a picture of her waving to the camera with a happy smile on her, while Celestia and Luna next to her had pained-looking faces.
"What's this?" Faust asked and started to read through the magazine
"It's the biggest gossip magazine in Canterlot. Let's just say most of the stuff they write isn't true but many ponies buy those and naturally some of them take it as gospel." Luna answered and drank the rest of her soda.
"Now one of those more... "special" nobles is campaigning for you to be placed into a mental institute for your and others' safety." Luna continued her explanation.

"Well I can say none of the words in this magazine about me is true. Why does somepony write something like this?" Faust asked and closed the magazine.
"I really can't say for sure. But royalty messing around is guaranteed to sell lots of magazines." Luna said.
"But I'm not royalty. I'm just a mother with two adorable fillies who happen to be royalty." Faust said and gently squeezed Luna's cheek.
Feeling her cheeks flush a little from embarrassment Luna opened her mouth. "Yeah... about that..." Luna started to rub her neck thinking about how to tell something as big as this to her mother.
"You see since I and Celestia confirmed that you are our mother to nobles. The council has made a certain degree about you and your... status." Luna started to explain.
"My status? Wait you don't mean..." Faust said quickly catching on to what her little blue filly meant.

"Yeah... Since we are princesses there is one title higher than that. And you being our mother just enforces your right to have it." Luna answered.
"But... I know nothing about the art of ruling. I'm a battle mage for god's sake, not a politician." Faust said sounding a little angry about the situation she now found herself in. But before Luna managed to say anything the doors opened and nurse Redheart entered the room and gave a bow.
"Queen Faust, Princess Luna. Doctor Diamond Heart has given you the green light to leave. You might experience small pain in your leg muscles for the next day or two, but other than that you should be fully healed." Redheart said.
"Redheart, please... I'm not a Queen I never was. I'm just... me. No need to be so formal and stiff." Faust said and leaned back towards the pillows.
"I'll leave you two to prepare. I hope to chat with you again miss Faust." Redheart said and left the room.

Faust was getting ready to leave with Luna. After she had changed to her casual dress Faust left with Luna. Upon exiting the room there were multiple royal guards ready to escort them back to the castle. Exiting the hospital Faust followed Luna to the royal carriage and it started to move towards the Canterlot. Faust just slumped back on one of the chairs and groaned.
"What's wrong mother? Everything alright?" Luna asked and summoned a tea set for the two of them.
"I'm worried. Worried that this is a big mistake your nobles have done." Faust said and took a teacup.
"Oh... don't worry mother. We already have that figured out. We three rule as one, but you do have the power to overrule mine or Tia's decisions if you have good reasons for it." Luna said to her mother trying to soothe her panic.
The road towards Canterlot was taking some time and Faust was getting bored.
"Luna? If I'm to be a Queen does that mean I need to have a king by my side? A stepfather for you two. Maybe then you wouldn't act so rash" Faust said having a teasing smile on her face.
"Mother! I don't want to have any images in my head of you dating some stallion or worse." Luna said her face blushing.
"Or maybe I'll get a mare. After all, I hear these days it isn't judged so hard." Faust said and continued to tease her little filly.
"I'm not hearing any of this..." Luna said and placed hands on her ear trying to block all sound coming from Faust who in turn laughed.



Canterlot Castle



After her teasing Faust drank the tea with Luna talking about how the city was back on its feet and got rebuilt. Soon the gates to Canterlot were visible and many royal guards were awaiting Princess Celestia and Princess Cadance in front of the group with some nobles in formation. After the carriage came to a stop Faust and Luna left it and Luna walked next to her sister.
"I take you have been informed mother?" Celestia asked and gave a smile to her mother. Faust in turn just rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"Yes... I have been... And I think this is really a bad idea..." Faust said sounding extremely annoyed. Not giving a chance to argue with the matter Celestia started to speak again this time with her royal Canterlot voice.
"My ponies, today we are witnessing a historical moment. Never has Equestria had a Queen, but after a long debate with, my sister and nobles of Canterlot it has been decided that our mother shall ascend above your princesses and become the first Queen of Equestria. All hail Queen Faust!" Celestia said and a booming voice of all ponies yelled "Hail Queen Faust" and took a deep bow towards her.

"I... Thank you for your confidence in me, but... I know nothing about ruling... I'm a battle mage... My place has been on the battlefield not in the throne room debating politics." Faust answers sounding unsure for the first time in centuries while all the ponies got back up.
"Don't worry mother. I'm sure Luna already told you how we will work this out for you. For now, just join us at court and observe how we do it." Celestia said.
"And as a first thing you can work on is my wedding." Cadance said with a hearty smile on her face. The mention of the wedding brought a smile to Faust's face.
"Well, I suppose we should start working with that right away. So how about Tia, Lulu? We should move on and decide about the wedding right away." Faust said looking at her daughters.
"As you wish mother. All of you, back to your posts and other duties. Queen's first court will open in 30 minutes." Luna said and guided her mother towards the throne room with Luna and nobles following them.

The throne room was redecorated to look like ancient Equestria with one big throne with Faust's cutie mark on it and two smaller thrones next to it on both sides with Celestia's and Luna's cutie marks on them. Celestia and Luna took seats on their thrones and waited for Faust to do the same. With some hesitation, Faust walked onto her throne and took a seat.
"The court is open. Now onto the first matter. The wedding of my niece Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Captain Shining Armor." Celestia said and some mumbling could be heard from nobles that were sitting on their chairs around a large crystal table.
A dark grey-colored unicorn stallion gets up from his chair and slams his fist onto the table. "We need to double the guards if we are doing this. That last fiasco shows that there was a way too low amount of guards." The noble said yelling and clearly angry about what happened. Celestia was about to say something, but her mother was faster to speak.
"More guards might make quests feel uneasy. What we really should do is show our guards ways to detect changeling magic. Last time I dealt with a changeling queen she wasn't this aggressive so we really didn't need to prepare for anything like this back in my time. I can take care of teaching this spellwork to our guards." Faust said and this seemed to calm the noble as he took his seat.

Next, the court did some basic day-to-day work trying to figure out how to tax different ponies fairly and how to use the tax money so every citizen could enjoy it. After the basics were done Princess Cadance entered the hall with Shining Armor.
"Aunties! So how long do I have to wait for us to finally get married?" Cadance asked while having an anxious look on her face.
"Honey... We shouldn't hurry with this... We need to make sure Canterlot is safe first before planning our wedding... again..." Shining said sounding annoyed.
"I'm sure you can start planning the wedding already Cadance. I'm going to train the guards in detection magic for any changeling transformations. I'd say we should be ready in a week. Is that acceptable Celestia? Luna?" Faust asked and both of her daughters gave an approving nod.

"Hold on... You? Teach us?" Shining said his voice starting get more excited.
"Of course. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one except for changelings who can teach this to you. I Myself learned it from Queen Myra who probably is this Queen Chrysalis ancestor. Does tomorrow sound good? Bring as many guards as you can to the throne room tomorrow Captain Armor." Faust explained.
"I... We all are honored, Queen Faust... I'll gather all of the guards you have my word, my Queen." Shining said with a smile.
"Please... Just Faust is enough... Oh... Cadance could you come with me to my quarters? Or do we have anything else we need to discuss?" Faust asked as she got up from her throne.
"Eeeh... Sure." Cadance said.
Celestia shook her head. "Nothing that you need to hear mother. We have some minor things to go through and can go with them without you if you wish to leave." Celestia said. Hearing it was okay to leave Faust left her daughters to take care of those minor things Celestia spoke about while Cadance followed her.

The two alicorns walked through the halls of the castle until they arrived at Faust's private chambers. Opening the door they enter inside and Faust closes the door with her magic.
"So... What do you want to talk about." Cadance asked as she took a seat on one of the sofas in the room while Faust used her magic to unlock a chest and levitate a crown out from it. The crown was forged from platinum and looked almost like that of Celestia's, but it had more than one gem on it. Multiple rubies on embedded in its hafts and in the middle where Celestia had one purple gem it had six bright sapphires on it forming a circle. Faust levitated it to Cadance's arms.
"This is the crown I used when I married my husband long ago. I crafted it myself and wanted my two little girls to wear it on their special day too." Faust explained. While Cadance rotated and took a closer look at the crown. The craftsmanship was just perfect and the rubies enhanced the look of the crown greatly.
"It's beautiful, I'm sure either of my aunties will love to wear it when they find their special pony." Cadance said.

"Cadance, we might not be family connected by blood, but you are my little Tia's adoptive niece and that way part of the family. I would love you to wear this on your special day." Faust said smiling lovingly. Cadance's face turned to shook upon hearing this.
"I... I don't know what to say... Are you sure?" Cadance asked as she lowered the crown onto the table.
"I wouldn't have shown or asked if I wasn't sure Cadance. You're like a third daughter to me." Faust said and continued to smile. A small tear of joy formed in Cadance's eye as she dashed forward and gave a hug to Faust.
"Thank you... I promise I take good care of it." Cadance said and released Faust from her hug.
"I know you will, now as for my second reason why I asked you here... I want to hear all about your plans for the wedding and if I could help with it." Faust said as she used her magic to summon a tray with tea pouches and heated water and offered a cup to Cadance who just smiled and took the cup and poured water into her cup.
"Oh... I suppose I have a couple of ideas. Where to begin..." Cadance said letting out a giggle as she started to explain her ideas to Faust.
> The Wedding, Take Two

The time passed fast as Canterlot was readying for the royal wedding again. Faust gladly helped her adoptive "third daughter" as she had started to refer to Cadance from time to time. Cadance had asked Faust to help with the wedding's food since she had heard stories of the treats she had cooked for her two fillies in the past. Faust promised to make some little cakes and buns and nothing else since she really hadn't cooked in almost a thousand year. On the side of preparing for the wedding, Faust also taught the royal guards the detection magic which specializes to detect changelings. To her surprise the first room she had reserved for the teaching was way too small for the number of unicorn guards that attended, so she moved to teach in the throne room after some wordy fighting with nobles. Even all of her three daughters attended which brought a smile to her face since the last time she had taught her fillies was when they were just that, fillies. Even the star pupil of her daughter Celestia, Twilight Sparkle attended the lessons whenever thought she would see somepony who was that interested in magic like herself. Always asking questions and possibilities to apply to different kinds of shapeshifting species.

Finally, all of the unicorns in royal guards had learned the way to detect changelings and they could focus more on the upcoming wedding. Fluttershy had received the job of music with her bird friends, Rainbow was asked to perform Sonic Rainboom after the couple had been officially wedded, Applejack promised to take care of catering, Rarity was asked to design an outfit for Faust while repairing Cadance's wedding dress, Pinkie was asked to bake her famous party cakes while also helping t take care of the music department with Vinyl Scratch also know as her stage name DJ-Pon-3 and lastyl Twilight helped to organize every small detail to perfection.

At last, the great day had arrived "again" as Celestia and Faust were helping Cadance to finalize her mane while making sure the dress was looking perfect on her while the white long dress adorned with sapphires on Celestia swung in the warm summer breeze.
"You look absolutely gorgeous Cadance. How is the bride holding?" Celestia asked while combing her niece's mane.
"Excited and also terrified. This still feels like a dream... Am I dreaming auntie?" Cadance asked while looking herself at the mirror as Celestia finished combing her mane.
"Giggle... I'm pretty sure you aren't. So are you ready to have the finishing touches?" Celestia asked as Faust gave the crown to Celestia that she had given to Cadance. Celestia placed the platinum crown on her head carefully so as not to destroy the mane she spent almost an hour perfecting.
"You look perfect. I'm sure Captain Armor will be the happiest stallion alive. But I should go now and make ready." Faust said and walked towards the door.
"Faust... Could I talk to you in private?" Cadance asked without looking away from the mirror.
"What's on your mind?" Faust answered and Celestia left the room, leaving the two.
"Would you do the honors and walk with me and escort me to my new husband since... since my real parents aren't with us anymore." Cadance asked as she got up and took the wedding flower bouquet onto her hands.
"I... Of course, it would be my honor to do so Cadance." Faust said and offered her hand so she could walk her to her new husband. Cadance smiled as she took hold of the hand and they started to walk towards the hall where the blessing would be held.

Soon the two reached the big doors and Faust used her magic to open the golden doors as Fluttershy's birds started to sing "Here Comes the Bride" as they walked through the aisle all the guests who were all standing and watching them pass while flashes of light from cameras were coming all over the hall since it was a royal event so the press was there too. As they reached Shining who was waiting in the middle Faust handed over her "third daughter" to her new husband.
"Take care f her Shining or I'm going to show just how angry I can be." Faust said laughing a little bit and Shining just gave a knowing nod. As the two reached the stage where Celestia was standing and smiling they took a knee in front of her.
"Mares and Stallions! We gather here today to witness the wedding of these two loving ponies." Celestia began.
"Again..." Cadance said and giggled a little which in turn made her husband laugh.
"Hush... Captain of the Royal guard who met his love princess Cadance when both were young the love bloomed and now we all are here to witness them tying their love for each other." Celestia said while everyone was watching closely and Twilight Velvet cried that her "little colt was all grown".

"Shining Armor, the day I saw you for the first time with Cadance filled my heart with happiness and I just knew you two would join together at some point. So do you Shining Armor promise to take this mare as your wedded wife and love her in good and bad, in the uphills and downhills you two will experience until death... death do you part?" Celestia said with a somber voice.
"I do princess. I do." Shining said.
"My little Cadance I did know you were seeing a stallion behind my back but I decided to keep it to my own knowledge and not to interfere when you started dating since I saw how much happier you were with Shining." Celestia said letting Cadance in on her little secret from her teenage years which made her blush madly as her auntie teased her yet again.
"So do you Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, take this stallion as your wedded husband and love him in good and bad, in the uphills and downhills you two will experience until death do you part?" Celestia asked.
"I'm pretty sure you already know the answer auntie, but yes, yes I'll take this adorable stallion as my husband." Cadance said and laughed a little.
"DIf somepony has something against this marriage should speak now or stay silent forever." Celestia said and waited for a moment before nodding towards Spike who brought rings to them. Celestia handed the golden rings which both had sapphire embedded into them.
"These rings are to show all the love that binds you two together." Celestia said as first Shining placed a ring on Cadance's ring finger and then Cadance did the same to Shining.
"By my power as a princess of Equestria I pronounce you stallion and mare you may kiss the bride." Celestia said and the newly wedded couple kissed each other a booming sound could be heard as Rainbow performed her signature trick and Rainbow appeared in the sky while the birds started their singing once again.
"Thank you all, and next we move to the Canterlot garden where we have the wedding banquet, but first..." Cadance said turned around and threw the wedding flower bouquet from her hand and it landed directly on Luna's hands who in turn started to blush madly. Cadance turning around to see this had a teasing smile on her face.
"Seems like we know who is the next princess to get wedded." Cadance said and started walking through the wedding quests leading them towards the royal gardens where the wedding banquet was going to take place.

As they arrived at the gardens and took their seats to enjoy the meal that was made by Canterlot's bests chef had cooked Faust was looking at the wedded couple as Shining was feeding some food to Cadance who was giggling happily before eating the food from the fork which brought memories of her own wedding back to her mind, the way Sun Aegis pronounced his love to her and promising to protect her and their future kids. The happy moment of discovering she was pregnant with her little Tia for the first time...
"Mom? You alright?" Celestia asked as she sits next to her mother with Luna. Hearing her daughter's voice brought Faust back from her memories.
"Yes... I'm alright just... having some fond memories..." Faust said letting out a sad-sounding sigh.
"I see... You want t talk about something specific?" Luna asked as waitresses brought some food for them. After a moment of silence, Faust opened her mouth to speak.
"I was just... remembering your father... I miss him greatly, even more so after meeting him again." Faust said.
"Meeting dad? But how I thought he died in the war..." Celestia said.
"I promised to tell you where I was when you fought against Chrysalis... I was dying down inside the caverns. I don't really know did I meet my Sun back there or if was it just a vision of my brains acting near the doors of death to give me the boost I needed to survive, but there are theories about the afterlife and reincarnation, but nobody has confirmed any of them... But it felt so real..." Faust explained while looking at her platinum wedding ring that had two amethysts and a ruby embedded into it and the words "In Saecula Saeculorum" written into it.
"Always and forever. So do you want to talk about father?" Celestia asked.
"Not today my dear. Maybe some other time." Faust said, before Celestia or Luna managed to answer anything upbeat music started to play as Vinyl entered the nearby stage full of audio equipment and the loud voice of a certain party pony could be heard from the speakers.

"Fillies and Colts! The one and only DJ-PON-3 wanted to play the music for our lovely couple now onto the floor you two! Dance! Dance! Dance!" Pinkie yelled and soon all quests started to slap their hands in the rhythm of the upbeat wedding dance song as Cadance and Shining entered the dance floor in the middle of the garden and started to dance some modern version of the wedding waltz. After the music was over and the wedded couple had finished their dance loud applause was given by everypony.
"And now! All stallions and mares go and get a new partner for the next track! You have two minutes! Tick Tock!" Pinkie's loud sound was heard from the speakers. And the guests started to go and ask different ponies to partner up to dance. Soon the floor was full of different ponies dancing together as the party moved forward with different tracks for faster dancing and some slow dancing. Different nobles were chatting with Celestia while Faust was dancing with Luna and laughing with her like any other pony and having the best time she could have. As the night started to approach the party and the last of the dances were performed and most of the food was eaten it was time for the newly wedded couple to leave for their honeymoon. Some left gifts for the couple as both of them thanked these kind ponies. Faust handed over a dark purple package that had dark purple silk lace printed into it to Cadance.
"Here's the item we talked about Cadance. Happy honeymoon you two." Faust said smiling and Cadance gave a hug to the old mare.
"Thank you, Faust. Stay safe we'll be back in a couple of weeks." Cadance said and entered into the carriage and sped off to their married bliss.
"So what did you give Cadance's mom? I and Tia got them the best hotel in Saddle Arabia for a week." Luna said. Faust summoned a catalog of "Blissful Silk" a well-known mare underwear design house. Showing the rather revealing black lingerie set to her daughters. Seeing the set made both mares blush madly.
"Something she is going to need for the coming week. I'm pretty sure that stallion isn't going to get to sleep this night." Faust said with a teasing smile on her face as she remembered all the rather kinky things she did with her husband on her wedding night. Hearing this all of the elements blushed madly.
"Mom!! Don't you have any decency?" Luna yelled while Faust just laughed as she ported herself away from the group.
"I don't get it. Why wouldn't Shining sleep this night." Spike asked while munching down some gems. Twilight just looked at the young drake.
"I'll... Tell you later..." Twilight said as she left to get some food for her library.

Far away in the north near where the ancient city of Crystal Empire was located a storm was brewing. It was not only a raging blizzard but also dark purple lightning hitting the ground. Hard. The lightning hit multiple times on the same spot and soon a dark black mist started to rise up from the small holes the lightning had left on the earth.
