 Twilight has decided she wants to move in with Sunset but gets worried about the huge change she’s about to have from living with her parents to living with her girlfriend. It’ll be up to some help from Cadance and Sunset, to remind her that even though changes are hard, it’s all part of life. And that she’ll always have help when needed as what she’s doing, is going to make her very happy in the end.

Sunset Shimmer, daughter to Princess Celestia has returned to Equestria from the other side of the Lunar Lock Mirror to spend 30 moons with her family and friends. One year into the current cycle Sunset has become depressed and short tempered with frustration, missing her wife and is in need of time away from Canterlot.

To change things up as well and fulfil the promise she made to spend more time with her mother the two head out to a white sandy beach island. However, there are strange things going on. There is a great unease about, the locals are moving about like lost castaways, and the hotel's owner/operator seems to be in on whatever foulness is about.

Can the two resolve the mystery of Pelican Island and have a good time doing it or will they just become the latest victims of the 'curse?'

Takes place during the time gap of Chapter 2 of Gods and Monsters.

Twilight is still suffering effects from when she turned into Midnight Sparkle and cant find a way to put her past behind her. Its stopping her from moving forward in her life, stopping her from asking Sunset out, stopping her from being herself. She's living her life in fear. Sunset should be thrilled, after all her name was cleared and everyone's been bending over backwards to make it up to her. This should be something that brings the entire school together and make her friendships stronger.

Sunset feels more alone than ever now. Having lost all trust for the girls assigned to teach her and believing her past will always haunt her, no matter how much she tries to show she's changed.

Cadance is bored, being stuck in the castle one afternoon with nothing to do. Seeing her auntie's closet where all her regalia is, she decides to see if she has what it takes to be a proper princess of Equestria. The problem is, she has some big horseshoes to fill.

The latest addition to the Sparkle family, Morning Star, takes to Ponyville in the care of her big sister, Twilight Sparkle. Well behaved, talented with magic in her own way, Morning also suffers from Twilight’s former affliction; she has no friends, but it’s more by choice than by chance.

Happiness isn’t all she'll bring into Twilight’s Ponyville life. Will the secrets this little filly carries change the relationship between Twilight and her friends?
