You remember Canterlot. You remember the taste of victory. Across a thousand years and a hundred lives, it was the greatest joy you had ever felt.

And then, in a flash of heat and unbearable light, it ended.

Now you are alone. The rest of your kind are dead or scattered, and you cannot hear their thoughts.

There is a void inside you. A gnawing, endless hunger you cannot escape. It is killing you.

You need love to survive, but there is none of that here. Not for you. You can only steal it from them, these ponies for whom we are hungry.

Being in a position of power is never easy, especially if you are the only ruler. Queen Chrysalis discovers this as the broken remnants her subjects begin to wither away without any love to properly sustain them, grieving over their fellow changelings who did not survive the trip home. Their population continues to plummet, and she is left with only one option.

It's been months since the invasion of Canterlot. Chrysalis has been overthrown. The changelings are free from her rule. But when Celestia and Luna decree that they favor the integration of their species, many changelings learn the true nature of some ponies, as ponies learn the true nature of their own kind.

A story about standing up for yourself as much as anyone else. A tale of finding strength within yourself and using it to overcome adversity. A series of events that lead to friendship, and sometimes love, when you fight for a cause you believe in.

(Has M/M relationships. Haters please follow the colored line to the exit.)

(The plethora of OCs present in the story were supplied by some friends of mine.
Tempest (aka Temporal Tune) was supplied by that creature that dwells in Flamerock, a fellow writer of stories, and a total Vinyl Fanboy. Did I mention that he's also my IRL Best Friend? Love Ya Buddy! Butt Stallion
Brainiac comes from the fair lady ZeFire01. An amazing artist with art ranging from, "Aw, how cute," to, "HolywhatthecrapI'mnotsleepingtonight!" She's also the one who drew the amazing sketch of Wolfe that can be found on my page.
Click Clack gave me permission to use his OC for this story. He is another writer of the Fics. And one of, no... The best detective I've ever seen. No Dangan Ronpa crossover story is safe from his eyes. I don't think he's ever failed to deduce the culprit.
Spot Weld was given to me by another writer under the name of SlayerHewkii. He's some guy that is as erratic as his name. Seriously, go check him out if you don't believe me. And leave a Lenny Face on his page while you're at it.)

Pandinus Imperator (You can call him Pan, he won't mind) is knocked back in time during the Canterlot Invasion, and accidentally kills King Sombra on arrival. Instead of being executed, the changeling is surprised to find himself being hailed as a hero, and is promptly put on the throne as the new monarch, the Crystal Emperor. However, Pan now faces a great many problems, among them Celestia and Luna, who seem certain that the changeling is secretly up to no good, as well as several political factions secretly plotting to undermine his reign. There's also the tiny problem of the constant snowstorm that threatens to cut the city off from the outside world permanently.
The Crystal Ponies need a hero now more than ever before. Why did they get a changeling instead?

We Has A TvTropes.

While not truly a part of Bucking Nonsense's Changeling-Verse, the same rules regarding changeling abilities and society apply.

Young Nictis had one dream: to serve his hive by becoming an Infiltrator, the most vital and vaunted role a changeling could aspire to. To hide in plain sight among the other species, blending in, while gathering the vital emotional energies that fueled his people. Few were deemed worthy of the dangerous job. He was one of the few nymphs selected for training, in the hopes that one of them would develop the skills needed to be entrusted with such a treacherous task.

But when a training expedition ends in tragedy, Nictis finds himself thrust into the role not to serve his hive and people, but to preserve his own life. Separated from the hive, alone, he must put what little training he has to the test. He must blend in with the hive's greatest source of food, and its most dangerous enemy: the ponies of Equestria.

(This story takes place in the same continuity as Fragments, but stands on its own. Reading that story isn't necessary for this one.)

It's been a bad day for you. And it only gets worse when you com home from school to find a changing on your bed, hogging your pillow. Your soft precious pillow, that you'd been looking forward to all day. You're not too happy about it.
------------------------------------------
Just a little something that I came up with, after thinking about changelings. I'm aware that this isn't a terribly original story idea, and if it seems too much like other stories I'll take it down. Also, this is my first-ish attempt at comedy. You've been warned.

Idol Hooves holds a special place in Equestria. He's probably the only exiled changeling to serve in the Royal Guard, or at least, that's what he expects, as exiles don't really broadcast that fact. However, it's well known that Princess Celestia loves all of her little ponies, and her guards perhaps more so, and that makes it one of the best ways for a changeling to discreetly feed.

But how does a changeling even get there, let alone get exiled in the first place? For that matter, why would it ever go to Canterlot? Set a number of years before the series proper, before Luna’s redemption, Idol details how he was exiled, the ponies he’s met, and the series of misadventures that led him to joining the Royal Guard, and should continue a good ways into the series, as something of an alternate perspective.

Soon, he’ll have to deal with a boisterous new princess to serve and a royal wedding in the works bringing a third to power. Will his old instincts bring this new life crashing down around him? What precipitates Chrysalis’s ill-fated assault on Canterlot? Is it really so wrong for a changeling to enjoy good craftsmanship to an obsessive degree?
