It has been about 7 months since The Great and Powerful Trixie took over Ponyville using the dark power of the Alicorn Amulet. Since then, Trixie has been trying to turn over a new leaf performing at a bar in Fillydelphia. Even though most of her fans have now ostracized her, she at least has a new place to stay, and some food to eat. Trixie wished her life would turn around for the better, but she just did not know how to go about it. After a twist of fate occurred by rescuing the princess of the night from the forest near her home, Trixie figured it was the perfect opportunity to seek what her power truly was, and how she can be just as useful as Princess Twilight Sparkle was for all of Equestria. This resolve to find out who she truly is will take Trixie on an adventure that she will never forget. Through the rigors of training, to finding a couple of lost magical artifacts, Trixie will have to endure the hardship of dealing with her past, and the struggles she faces internally when it comes to her ego and her bad habits which drive her potential friends away. Will she finally be able to prove not only to herself, but also to the rest of Equestria that she is truly the highest level unicorn? This is the fanfic based on Astringe's Bad Future series on DeviantART. He did some great designs of the characters, so make sure you give that gallery a peruse before you read the fic.

Also worth mentioning, he's been nice enough to plop any pics he does based on chapters I've written into this separate gallery, so there will be less spoilers for readers just jumping in to the story.

NOTE: The canon of my story picks up at the start of Season 3, where it begins to diverge away from the canon of the show. I've never read the IDW comics nor have I seen Equestria Girls, so the events of my story aren't canon at all with them.

Ponyville is seen as a quaint little town by those who live there, and for Twilight Sparkle, it has all she needs with her friends by her side. When a stranger that she is familiar with comes into town, she finds herself questioning as to what to do and how to accept a secret they have held from her since they meet.

Sometimes, friendship is tested by what your willing to see as truth or lies. But how can one trust those who live with using masks to hide both lies and truth?

Rarity is one of the most famous gem-hunters in the land of Equestria and therefore perhaps the best choice for a job given by the royals themselves. She is being called in to retrieve a gem from the deepest parts of the Canterlot mines. Together with her team she has to find the thing and bring it back to the surface. That is only the easy part. For usually it are the smaller things that give the bigger trouble.

When a book is also taken from the resting place of the gem, Rarity finds herself changed. Not for the better to say the least. New possibilities as well as horrors have opened themselves for the mare of fashion as she is seen as a monster in her own eyes. The job for the princesses might have been the final job she had ever taken as a gem-huntress before her life takes a new course. A course in the darker arts of the crystalline magic.

Friends become bitter enemies as the gears of time go on and the events turn only from bad to worse. It is said that there is light at the end of a dark tunnel, but what if you can't see that very light?

After discovering that Cadence is not who she appears to be, Twilight is sent to another world entirely by the disguised Changeling Queen to avoid her plan being disrupted.
When Twilight lands, she discovers that not only have Spike, Owlowiscious and Peewee followed her, but that they've arrived in a world where the main sentient species is human.
There's still a place where they teach magic, though.
Crossover with Harry Potter. Twilight will be effectively taking the role of Hermione.

Spike’s been adjusting well to having a castle as his new home. Initially, he thought that things would remain exactly the way they always were, only, the box had given them seven chairs instead of just six. Each of them bore the mark of the Elements, whereas the seventh remained bare, was much smaller and was positioned right next to Twilight’s. It seemed that Spike had finally been recognized and given a place within the group, but what exactly did that signify?

He hadn’t used a key and most certainly wasn’t one of the Elements. While Twilight and the rest were all established as Equestria’s best line of defense, the most Spike had ever accomplished was getting lucky against King Sombra. Although being presented with a new position of power, he was still plagued with doubt. Spike’s thoughts were nervous at the best of times and extremely self-doubting at the worst.

Still entirely unsure of his position amongst his friends, he gets paid a visit from the future by a pony who carries a grave warning for the past. Only Spike may save the future, but at what cost?

And just what dangers does the future hold?

A mysterious mare appears in Ponyville, claiming to be from a far away land. She seems to be an extremely powerful mage, rivaling even the Princesses themselves. She is secretive and withdrawn, refusing to reveal anything specific about her past. And she is being hunted.

NOTE: This character came to me while making random ponies on General Zoi's Pony Creator. I am simply writing a story to go with her. I am discovering the character as I write, so I do not know much more about her than you do.

After a pregnant changeling is injured in a weather accident and forced to leave it's egg behind on the edge of the Everfree Forest, the egg is discovered by Fluttershy and taken in, but Hive Chrysalis is desperate to get the egg back, to preserve the secret of the existence of changelings. (Set before the Canterlot Invasion.)

What if instead of a chest, The tree of harmony gave Twilight a book with strange writing and a heart shaped gem on the cover. After reading a mysterious rhyme: "When the time is right. Underneath the same light. A bond will ignite. At very first sight." The Mane Six, and Spike, are all magically sucked in and they travel to a world with no ponies or magic, but humans and...bending! People who can control the four elements of nature. With no way to get back home, they stumble upon a new friend: Avatar Korra, a fiery but big hearted young girl with an extraordinary destiny. Upon first glance, the Ponies all feel an instant connection with the young girl, who might also be the key to them returning to Equestria and uncovering the secrets of the book, while at the same time help Korra to defeat an evil masked man named Amon who vows to rid the world of bending with his mysterious and terrifying powers.

Now the ponies will need to adjust to their new environment: a whole new world where people seem to loose sight of friendship almost too easily, but Twilight sees that there is hope, as they show Korra the ways of Equestria and with that, the ponies and avatar start to change their world for the better, by helping everyone see that Friendship is exactly the kind of magic that this world truly needs.

When Sunset Shimmer and Trixie Lulamoon finally track her down after months of searching (and barely tolerating the other's presence), the reunion is not a happy one. Their presence has upset Twilight's new life by revealing the first step in unraveling the web of secrets bottled up in Twilight's psyche.

The three mares journey to a place of ancient magic, where they must piece together Twilight's shattered memories, solve the mystery, and then finally go home to where they truly belong. Of course, their journey will not be easy; dark shadows follow Twilight's every move, trying to stop her party from seeing the truth. If that weren't bad enough, it's not just Twilight Sparkle who is being tested by the challenges of the Nexus.
