Anon and his daughter had finally started to settle into their new life amoungst ponies, with Anon now having a steady source of income and his child excelling in school. With the essentials assured, however, Anon started to search for more. After all, life doesn't have to just be the two of them, and he's always been open minded.

Problem is, ponies don't seem to share this trait, and Anon found himself rejected over and over. While he can get dates, no mare ever wants to stick around once they find out he is a single father, apparently caring more about his daughter than the fact that he's an alien.

Ready to give up, Anon is surprised when his daughter makes a very strange friend, and he himself begins to become intrigued with this sweater-wearing mare. Moondancer, for her part, is just trying not to make a fool of herself in front of this strange stallion while his cute-as-a-button daughter does everything possible to make her fall in love with the pair, intentionally or not.

An astute (oblivious) Rainbow Dash spends her days working, lounging, and hanging out with her best, completely platonic, in no way pining, 20% tsundere sis, Anon.

This story takes place in an AU called RGRE (Reversed Gender Role Equestria). If you're unsure of what that means, there's a group on fimfic that catalogues stories like these that might explain it best. It has been one of the closest guarded secrets of Canterlot's royalty. Deep in a specially constructed dungeon, surrounded by warding spells and powerful magic barriers, exists an enigma. Within a cage that could only be described as something out of a nightmare, it waits and watches all of Equestria. A creature that cannot age, is immune to disease, does not thirst nor hunger, and resists all injury. But, it also holds secrets and knowledge that could safeguard the kingdom. Its powers are frightening, but it is civil enough for debate when patience permits.

Princess Celestia has sought counsel with the creature before, enduring it making deal after deal for its services. The Princess walks a fine line when dealing with it, knowing full well anything could give it an advantage despite its imprisonment. She has had to go back on her word in these dealings, and from this a deep animosity between them has been born. It is a necessary evil as she is convinced this is a being capable of untold evil far and above anything Equestria has ever dreamed of. So long as it remains within the confines of its cell, her kingdom is made safe. So much magic has been woven to ensure that, there is little chance of escape.

So long as the magic holds, there is no danger. So long as the cage remains strong, the nameless creature stays enthralled in his cavernous dwelling. If that were to change--if the magic failed--not even the wisest could say. But one thing is assured, it does not bode well for Equestria.

Anonymous is summoned by Princess Cadance during the Equestria Games. What he comes face to face with is a tearful, brokenhearted mare that needs someone to be there for her.

I'm a Butler. My friends, the imaginary ones at least, call me Butler. My job, looking after my lady, can be...challenging at times, but rewarding. Lately the job's become a little more difficult, especially after my lady's sister returned from the moon and the parliament decided to try and pass an entire bill just to be able to legally get rid of me. But managing the chaos is part of the job description, even if it means I must secretly become my lady's knight captain of her personal bodyguards in order to keep my job. Though even I could never have anticipated having to train knights cunningly disguised as maids to stay one step ahead of the nobles. Ah, the things I do for my princess.
