Celestia had a niece once, not an adopted niece like Cadance, an actual biological niece, the daughter of Princess Luna. Sadly when Luna became Nightmare Moon her daughter took her mothers side and led the their forces against Celestia.

Princess Twilight was killed during that battle, or so history tells us...

Twilight Sparkle has always been frustrated with Discord. His ability to do anything, with no more effort than a snap of his claw. It shouldn't be possible. His power had to come from somewhere.
Then, one day, Twilight lets slip how she feels. Surprisingly Discord agrees to explain it to her. To give her the secret to all of his powers. If she's willing to pay the price that knowing it all will bring.

Discord is trapped in stone once again. But this time, he does some thinking. No, not about revenge, mind you. But about a certain lavender mare...

In addition to helping prepare the most high profile wedding Equestria has seen in living memory, Celestia has tasked Sunset Shimmer and the rest of the Elements of Harmony with befriending the future queen of the Dragon Empire and her entourage, the first Sorcerer the Empire has ever had. Twilight Sparkle, Element of Magic and Princess of Friendship, can now add the titles Princess of Learning and Headmistress of the Equestrian Academy of Magic to her name. Her life-long dream of spreading knowledge to everyone is now her actual job description and after going through the grueling setup process she's now ready to be the best educator ever. But then Discord comes along wanting to become one of her professors and everything she had expected to do gets thrown out the window.

This is a story based on the next gen series of drawings done by Lopoddity on Deviantart (Link down below). As you can no doubt guess from the cover art this will be a TwiCord story with many other ships passing through based on Lopy's ideas from her gallery, the focus being on the journey each relationship goes through to get to their end point. And also Discord antics, because those are the best antics.

Twilight finds a strange book on her doorstep, with no idea where it came from or what it is about; she reads it. The more she read, the more she loses sight of who she is as she slowly gain an amount of knowledge she never thought possible.

While days go by, her friends try to reason with her. Can friendship defeat lust for infinite power?

There has always been a little voice in Twilight Sparkle's head, whispering dark musings to her. And until her brother's wedding, she has managed to push those bitter thoughts away and focus on the good. She forgives and forgets and holds onto hope.

But when her friends turn their backs on her and her brother cuts her from his life, Twilight finds herself alone, with only the little voice to comfort her.

And it is through anger and hate that has been repressed for so long that Twilight finds the power to rise up. Harmony and Friendship have only brought her pain and suffering. It is time for her to embrace her dark side. No longer will she worry about what others think. Twilight is going to live her life how SHE chooses: without friends, without family, without love and without harmony. She is going to cut loose, have fun, and screw what others think.

For her friends and family, it will soon become apparent that if they don't find a way to mend the damage they've done to the lavender mare...Twilight Sparkle might be lost to them forever.
