A friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil; but it needs a little mulch of letters and phone calls and small, silly presents every so often - just to save it from drying out completely.
-Pam Brown
Twilight groaned, wondering if Celestia was being truly petty and making the sun shine through her window just to aggravate the headache the unicorn felt.
'No... not unicorn... alicorn,' Twilight thought. She was startled to find that with Doubt having left her mind she could feel the difference between her thoughts and the ones he helped guide her too. It wasn’t a drastic change, which was rather startling when one thought about it; he had been a completely different conscious, whispering in her ear during her darkest moments. And yet her thoughts now and those she had felt just hours ago were very similar that unless she focused she couldn't tell the difference. It was like sitting on a sofa or a couch: both were soft and supported you but there were tiny differences.
'So... this is what immortality feels like.' Twilight slowly rose, stretched her wings. “…boring.’ Somepony had laid her upon her bed after Doubt had made her fall asleep and looking down at it she was struck by how small it was. Of course, the bed was normal size: it was Twilight who was bigger. She wagered that she was at least twice as big as she had been, rivaling Celestia in size.
That made her smirk just a tiny bit.
"Ow ow ow!" Twilight grunted, shutting her eyes. "Ok... don't smile like a smug alicorn after a night of drinking. Owie."
She focused and with a burst of magic her bed was made. It was interesting to stare at the glow that burst out of her horn; it was a dark purple, mixing her normal magic with her new dark magic. Satisfied with that, she summoned a brush only to realize that her mane was infact made of hair and no longer billowing energy... except the moment she thought of it her tail and mane transformed from their normal purple to black energy with shooting stars sprinkled in.
"Ok, that requires further testing." She made a note to ask Doubt about alicorn hair. Celestia had always been close-lipped when it came to her physiology but Twilight got a sense that she would get a straight answer from her...
From her what?
Doubt had said he was her father, her brother, her son and her husband. 'A little incestual...' Twilight thought to herself. 'So, what is he to me? Is he a friend? A partner? An extension of myself?' Twilight set the floating brush aside and pushed that question to the back burner. There were more important things to deal with.
Twilight sighed, centering herself. Now that the alcohol had been burned out of her system and she had actually gotten some sleep (other than the few hours she had spent unconscious after battling the changeling queen she'd been awake for nearly 48 hours) the dark fires within her simmered down, allowing her to think rationally. Oh, that blaze would always be there... if she were honest with herself it had always existed, just buried under layer upon layer of repression. But no longer was it driving and she could actually consider her thoughts on the events of the last day without falling into a rage.
She had not forgiven her friends or family. Their continual betrayal still made her grit her teeth and no amount of sleep was going to erase the memories of them continuously talking down to her and trying to make her act like they wanted too. She could still see them turning from her, siding against her and throwing away her friendship for the sake of a wedding.
But now with the light of day Twilight could admit that it hadn't been all bad. There had been good times... wonderful times. And yes, they outweighed the bad by amount. Yet those bad times were the blackest of the black and her heart constricted just thinking about them. The question she now faced was if the good times were worth the bad? Could she continue on as things had been, assuming that was even possible? Or was the pain too deep and her soul too scarred to allow her to be around them?
She didn't know... and that scared her to death.
Shaking herself free of the questions and concerns that buzzed about her brain, Twilight decided to do something was completely not like her: she pushed her worries aside and decided to just have fun. And the first thing she was going to do was go get breakfast.
"OW OW OW OW OW!"
Twilight looked up at the ceiling, her billowy mane lying on the ground. "Ok... so I need to relearn how to go up and down steps," Twilight grunted, staring at the offending steps she had just bounced down.
"You ok Twilight?" The dark alicorn blinked as, of all ponies, Cadence trotted over to her and helped her up. "You know, most ponies put their hooves on steps and not their heads."
"Cadence?" Twilight said dumbly. "What are you doing here?"
The love goddess smiled. "You said when I was ready to talk to come see you. Well, I want to talk." Twilight's eyes flashed and the pink alicorn hurried to put her friend at ease. "Don't worry... no judgment here. I just want to spend some time with you, that's all. Not going to press you into anything." Cadence turned and began to canter towards the kitchen. "By the way, Spike and I made breakfast. Don't worry, we didn't do anything runny or goopy. Figured your stomach would still be doing flip flops."
Twilight stared at Cadence's returned form, wondering if she had slipped into an alternate dimension. She quickly ruled that unlikely and cautiously made her way into the kitchen, where Spike was finishing up with the toast and sliced fruit.
"Hey Twilight!" Spike exclaimed, hopping off the stool he had been standing on and running over to give his friend a hug. The dark alicorn smiled, lowering her head to nuzzle him gently. "Wow, when Cadence said you'd grown..."
Twilight laughed as best she could with a throbbing skull. "Yeah... bit of a growth spurt."
"You look cool. Not that you didn't before!" Spike added hastily.
"It's ok Spike... I am not going to bite your head off." She flashed him a dark smile. "Even though I am now big enough to do so in one gulp..."
Spike, instead of being intimidated, just waged a finger at her. "Just remember Twilight, I am going to get a lot bigger and now both of us are going to be around forever." The baby dragon flashed his own dark smile. "That means I'll have plenty of time to punish you when I'm big enough to hold you in the palm of my hand."
"Not if I use my magic to make myself grow even bigger!" Twilight challenged.
"Do I need to leave or are you two going to go get a room?" Cadence teased. The dark alicorn and the baby dragon blushed at the accusation and Cadence giggled. "I'm kidding. Come on; sit down before I eat all this food." She gestured at one of the bowls of fruit Spike had set out, which was already nearing empty.
"Somepony had an appetite," Spike stated.
Cadence shrugged. "Well, I really haven't had anything to eat but hospital food and whatever the changelings gave me. And before that I was on a diet so I looked my best for the wedding. Well, that didn’t happen so I am going to gorge. If I get fat I get fat."
Twilight grimaced as went over to join Cadence. "I am so sorry I didn't think to find you..."
The pink alicorn waved her off. "Twilight, it wasn't your fault. You are sorry for that, I am sorry for what I said in the club, so I figure that makes us even."
The dark alicorn chewed on a strawberry sullenly. "I shouldn't have accused you of mind rape. And I shouldn't have... done whatever I did to you."
"While I didn't enjoy all the dark thoughts I've moved past it, Twilight. I don't think I'll be trying black magic any time soon, no offense, but you did raise some good points and I plan to think about how I use my spells from now on." Cadence glanced over at Twilight. "I hope you do the same."
Twilight, to Cadence’s surprise, didn’t snap at the thinly veiled comment. "I will," Twilight said, nibbling on some toast. Her headache wasn't throbbing as much anymore and that was a plus... especially since she didn't want to try a headache relief spell after the changeling queen had used that excuse to explain her actions against Shining Armor.
They ate in silence for several minutes, just enjoying each other's company. For Twilight it was a return to normal. After all the stress of the last day and the roller coaster of emotions it felt wonderful to just sit down and have a simple meal. It was connecting her new self to her past self and she felt a peace settle within her.
'Is that because Doubt isn't in my mind?' Twilight wondered.
'I will always be with you.'
'Doubt?' Twilight's mind whispered. 'Where are you? Why weren't you here when I woke up?'
'I made an agreement with your friends, to give them two days with you to make amends. I am using the time away to… get use to myself. I have never had a physical body before and it is... quite strange. I have experienced much through yours and Luna’s eyes but to have my own mind and body… it is quite off-putting. I wish to explore this new aspect of myself and the time apart will be good for both of us.'
'But you'll be back?'
'I will never leave you Twilight. Even if you cast me away I will be ready come to your side... all you must do is think of me.' The mirror alicorn chuckled slightly. 'As for your previous question... for now consider me a guardian... a watchful protector.'
'So... it isn't because you aren't here that I feel so peaceful?'
'No. It is because you are at peace. Nothing more or less. The pains of yesterday are gone and a new day is before all of us. You now have the strength to stand against anything that tries to cage you... and that freedom offers peace of mind. You no longer need me to guide you; you are your own mare, an immortal and a future queen. I now take the role of knight and allow you to set the path. Now... enjoy yourself, my Twilight. I will return to you in two days. We have much to decide then.'
The entire conversation took only seconds to occur but Spike and Cadence still noticed how Twilight had zoned out on her. When they stared at her long enough Twilight snapped out of her daze and smiled, tapping her hoof against her forehead. "Sorry... still crowded in there."
"Doubt?" Cadence asked.
"Yeah. Apparently even with a body he'll always be bouncing around my head." Twilight frowned. “Or I’ll be bouncing around his. It’s kinda hard to tell.”
Spike frowned. He decided to not let on that the others had given him some background on the mirror alicorn, figuring Twilight wouldn't be happy with them gossiping behind her back. "Cadence was telling me a bit about him... are his wings really made up of our mirrors? If so, I have a bone to pick with him… I wasn’t able to get my spines straight this morning because all the mirrors are gone!"
Twilight chuckled. "Yeah, he took the mirrors. Apparently for an abstract he as a flair for the dramatic."
"But he is the reason you now have wings?"
"Yeah."
"Ok," Spike said simply. Cadence marveled at the ability Spike possessed to accept such a massive change to his best friend without batting an eye.
'Perhaps we all could learn something from Spike,' she thought.
The rest of the breakfast was peaceful and Twilight couldn't help but wish it didn't have to end.
"Don't worry... I want to stay in Ponyville for a while to recuperate," the love goddess told her friend.
Twilight looked down at Cadence (and boy, was that strange) and nodded her head. "Sounds good... just don't stress yourself. I might have had a bad day yesterday but you had a bad few weeks... you never know how that will affect you."
"I will adjust. Life is all about adjusting." Cadence paused at the door, gathering her courage. "Twilight... I want to ask you something and I need you to promise to not get mad. If you say no that is fine, but I still want to ask."
"It's about my friends and family, isn't it?" Twilight said, her mood turning sour.
"Yes. I know they don't deserve it-" Cadence stopped herself from saying 'you think', knowing that it would only piss the dark alicorn off, "-but maybe you should be the bigger pony and give them a chance... if only one chance."
Twilight snorted. "Why bother? They wouldn't have given me one."
"I think you are wrong there, Twilight. I think all of them would have given you a chance and if you are honest with yourself you'll realize that is true." The dark alicorn rolled her eyes but Cadence could see a flicker that spoke of her words getting through to the alicorn. "Besides... sometimes it is worth being the bigger pony... and in your case you literally are."
Twilight managed a weak chuckle at the bad joke. "I don't know if I want to..."
"Just think about it. And hey," Cadence actually managed to flash an evil grin of her own, "you can always make them jump through hoops and do embarrassing things as a way to apologize."
The dark alicorn did laugh hard at that. "Ok... I'll think about it."
“You could get Doubt to make them immortal and have them make it up to you for a few thousand years.”
“Who am I, Celestia?” Twilight said with a dark laugh. “I’ll consider it… but no promises. And if they try anything I am going to show them the power of the…” Twilight frowned. “Ok, I really need to figure out what I am the alicorn of. Magic? Darkness? Stars?” Twilight puzzled that one over.
"Thank you," Cadence said, giving Twilight a hug before heading out. It was only after Twilight had gone back inside and Cadence knew she couldn't see her that the pink alicorn looked to the sky in prayer. "Please... please let us not waste this last chance."
“For the sake of everything, Cadence… let us hope not,” Doubt whispered, Cadence turned just as the mirror alicorn warped away.
No darkness lasts forever.
When i started this story, I know many readers were hoping for violence and death and destruction. but that isn't the tale I wanted to tell. This story has always been about what happens when friendship is destroyed, how hate can fester and the bonds people (or ponies) have can fray. I wanted to explore the emotional damage that occurs, how a character can be so focused on rage and hate that they forget the good times.
And then...to see if one can come back. After there has been so much bad... is it possible for friendship to be renewed? Can something be built back up?
"It's like in the great stories... The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think.... I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something....That there's some good in this world... and it's worth fighting for."

Nope, never had. Doubt is my attempt to write an atypical villain. As for the use of 'The Creator', that is from my head canon that Fausticorn, aka The creator, is the top of the godly dogpile and thus some ponies, instead of saying 'Oh Celestia' say 'The Creator'
Frankly since the appearance of Doubt I'm kinda losing interest in the story. I'm also liking Twilight less and less with each chapter. I could understand her behavior in the beginning when she was on the emotional low, but now she simply behaves like a jerk towards everybody.
Why did you transform her into an alicorn in the first place? She sounds and behaves like a teenage girl with an attitude, who suddenly got superpowers. Not a good combinations for anyones peace of mind.
this is a really good story its always nice to see something diffferent
was it me or was her hangover gone so fast? just over breakfast... dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_TwilightWut.png
1417234 She IS an Alicorn now.
1417234
Side effects of her "upgrade", probably.
Actually, I wasn't. Nearly every story I've read where Twilight gets something similar to what happens here she goes all 'kill everything'. This is more like some tv drama that is actually interesting for once. Hopefully after this more authors will write something more stories similar to this one.
I love the quote with Samwise...
And I do think that they can be repaired. Even if I really dislike how you went through the 'destruction' of the relationship.
I'm guessing that from this point this is going to be much happier.
So not EVERYONE's apology will be accepted, right?
If what I wanted was just violence, I'd ask for a gore tag.
1408883
I blame the bad writing on all that. They all acted way out of character.
Damn, son. This is really getting interesting. To be perfectly honest I had absolutely no idea that the story would take this course. And I am excited to see what happens next.
1417225
Sadly, I have to agree. I can't really sympathise with Twilight. It's hard to feel sorry for her and her feelings when she's being petty and doing the exact same thing to everypony (except Spike, but he's a dragon), only worse. Furthermore, her arguments for the 'betrayal' by her friends and family border on the pathetic. The only pony who's responsible for her being who she was is herself. She's blaming others for her own failures. Celestia didn't ask of her to be a tensed schedule-freak who thinks she'll be sent to the moon if her report on friendship is one second late, for example. That was her own decision, and her own failure, and it's disgusting that she would try to brush off her responsibility on her friends by abusing their guilt and emotional instability.
Twilight just needs a good buck in the face and get a firm reprimand, because frankly, she's deserving of it. My advice to her friends: don't even bother with the whole two days, she's just not worth it. If she wants to hate you all, let her do it, let her cook in her own soup. Find some better friend/sister/student/daughter than this pony who happens to share Twilight's name, you'll be glad you did. Did everypony make a mistake at the wedding? For sure. But now, that mistake is neglectable compared to the jackass Twilight has become. Pardon the language. And of course, I'm guessing nopony will call her out on it. They'll just be all crawly and slimey because they're such a bunch of bad ponies who committed such hideous misdeeds by mistreating and neglecting poor Saint Twilight's feelings, right...?
Please don't take this the wrong way. This is all just my own view, as a result from the impression I got from the story. I understand other people will have other views.
1417361
Sadly I agree with you on so many points. I think the main difference between us is I still want Twilight's friends to try and forgive her. Even if she may not deserve it, true friends forgive and I want to see that they are better friends to her than she is to them. Though frankly I really, really wanna see someone rub her mistakes in her face to get the point across, and I don't it done gently at all.
1417170 I am really enjoying it. I never saw this as a full twilight is insane I saw it as a twilight finally snaps story.
hah love angry twilight keep writing and dont you dare end this early
I starting to really dislike Twilight right now, and I also don't like the alicorn thing either, but that's just me and I'm not going to stop reading the story because of that.
I don't know about this whole Alicorn thing. She's going to have to learn that immortality comes at a price, something Celestia and Luna already know. Once the rest of them they're gone forever, it'll be too late for her to recover any of what she had (even if two days is all they get to try and convince Doubt to go away). If she wants to enjoy having friends she's going to have to hurry and figure it out.
Doubt's motives already seems suspect, why is he behaving so "nicely" now? He seemed pretty antagonistic earlier.
...I was never actually the one to think of "Dark Twilight" as evil, and I realized the point of the story very quickly.
This is very intriguing.
Awaiting further releases.
OH NOES! chapter 12 was really good, but....as always.....it wasn't enough.
This just keeps getting better and better!
< So awesome!
In all honesty, the rate at which you are putting out chapters while keeping the quality so high is astonishing.
Oddly, this just makes me feel like Twilight is more at fault than she wants to believe. They may have been harsh, but she's just gone overboard. Wanting your friends, family, and other people to appreciate you and accept that they haven't been the best doesn't really justify going ballistic on them. Clearly it hasn't occurred to her that the way she's changed is inconsistent with how she's always been and this would be rightly distressing to anyone who cares about her in the slightest. At least with the exception of taking the overreaction too far. She needs to learn not to doubt everybody's intentions immediately.
I'm really enjoying this now, another great chapter. My expectations now seem worthless, so I can just sit back and enjoy. Keep up the good work.
The thing is, Twilight is strong enough to live in her dark side. It was repressing it that caused her problems.
1417361
well, Twilight wouldn't be justified to still being angry if Celestia and Co. had just tried to TALK to her last night instead of making assumptions about her 'corruption,' essentially mobbing her and repeating their wedding mistake. besides, after an emotional event like that, one night of sleep isn't going to make the sting of that event go away immediately...
as for her bad habit of overreacting and extreme tension, i wouldn't completely fault Twilight for that. Celestia shares the blame for letting it get worse. when she first 'failed' her entrance exam, she had no problem admitting defeat when she realized she couldn't hatch the egg, then fast forward to 'Lesson Zero' where the pressure of the mere possibility of being 'tardy' drives her to stupid decisions. i have three hypotheses for this:
1) Celestia tried to curb her habit, but was ineffectual...
2) Celestia ignored the problem, finding it cute and adorkable...
3) Twilight has had a perfect record before 'Lesson Zero'...
i favor #2, and, present, for my evidence a scene in 'It's About Time' wherein Twilight, believing a catastrophe is in the offing, cowers by a window in the castle archives, then Celestia walks by and just greets her and compliments her hairstyle. putting aside the comedic value of the scene, Celestia would be just as stupid as her student if she hadn't noticed how Twilight was acting right then...
So, was wondering; does Twilight still do that funny thing with her face when she eats a brownie?
Doubt was Faith, and losing faith in anything causes doubt to creep in. There :P
Am I the only one who that that very small amount of Spilight? Huh........anyway, what I like most about Doubt is the fact that he listens to every option and creature, they just call him evil because he has aided Nightmare Moon and now Dark Twilight, personly I really like Doubt and I'm glad that Spike is still the anti-hero he started as, it's a great change.
This is a really great chapter, I shall be watching for more.
1417809
Maybe, but even so, that would contradict Twilight's claims that "her friends made her who she is, not who she wanted to be", since, if what you assume is true, Celestia didn't demand any change of personality or behaviour from Twilight, she just let Twilight be who she wanted to be. You can hardly blame Celestia for that. So either way, Twilight's arguments about her friends forcing her to be somepony she didn't want to be still fall flat on their muzzle.
As far as talking to Twilight goes, they were worried about her and feared something bad might happen to her, and so they acted rashly... Kinda like Twilight did at the wedding! Fancy that! Only Twilight apparently thinks it's okay for her to do that and should be instantly forgiven for it, but her friends are horrendously evil beings for doing the same thing, who don't even deserve to be in her gloriously superior presence? Please, Twilight, I thought you were supposed to be smart... And likable.
I still say it could all be fixed by giving her a good smack in the face.
...
And by all of them sitting down and talking about it like adults instead of acting like whiny foals, too, I suppose.
1417361 Twilight isn't exactly being a jerk, her friends had learned at the end of "Lesson Zero" that they should take her concerns seriously, a lesson they failed to remember at the wedding rehersal and Celestia had no reason to just betray Twilight for her own niece, Twilight isn't expecting them to move mountains but she is having a hard time forgiving them because of how badly they messed up.
1418324
Even so, that's not really a reason to turn into a jackass who's balancing on the razor's edge between dark and straight-out evil, or to go around hurting and insulting ponies and treating them like less than shit. I thought she was a better pony than to display such petty and low behaviour.
1417414
He is putting aside his anger for Twilight.
Twilight needs her friends and the only way for them to stay friends is if someone pushes them to work through their problems.
on a different note .. I love the bro/sis relationship that Twilight has with Spike. Celestia has Luna. Twilight has Spike. Family Forever.
A breath of fresh air~!!! FINALLY!
I love angst and whutnot... But it becomes a one-trick-pony if left for too long.
This is a wonderful change of pace. Full of so many wonders~
1418436 She is just refusing to let her friends off the hook so easily when they cast aside her friendship for the sake of throwing a wedding, I mean did it never occur to them that Twilight could have been hurt or something, if you were in Twilight's place would you be so willing to forgive them?
1418585
No, I wouldn't, but I wouldn't be acting like an immature emo foal during it, either. I'd try to be the adult and explicitly tell them why I was dissapointed with them and why I can't forgive them. Here, though, Twilight is just beating around the bush ("That's not why I want you to be apologise for!" and stuff like that), acting immature and being downright cruel and petty to her friends, making her no better than them. That's the biggest issue here.
Also, if it were me, I definately wouldn't be bonding with the suspicious dark alicorn who had a hand in creating Nightmare Moon!
1418606
Because nearly murdering Chrysalis, attacking hospital staff, bonding with a dark alicorn with unknown motives who transforms her into an alicorn, gives her dark powers and makes her act nothing like her usual self is not worrisome and slightly lunatic behaviour, right?
Again, I'm not saying Twilight doesn't have the right to be angry at her friends. All I'm saying is that that doesn't give her the right to become worse than them, while acting as if nothing is wrong with her (which is a big fat lie) and everything is her friends' fault (which is an even bigger lie).
I'm having a feeling that doubt is also faith
1418619 She's not BOUDNING with him!
And of course Rainbow Dash had a chance to apologize and she mucked it up by apologizing for the wrong thing which makes Twilight feel like they haven't learned their lesson, ultimately I think she wants to forgive her friends but after the way they treated her she has a hard time doing so and she's perfectly justifiedi in doing so, plus her parents never showed that they supported her which makes her think they are looking down on her.
1418671
Have to agree with you there... like all of Twilight's friends (Celestia) are having their cake and eating it too... like they haven't learnt a thing from this experience or past experiences where Twilight goes nuts (even enjoying it at times) and at the same time they pretend they have learned something... Twilight's anger is justified in this case cause of all the pent up anger and rage inside of her has finally reached exploding point... and her friends and mentor should have seen the signs... but I suppose they were more concerned with material matters
1418671
She kind of is, really. He's constantly with her and he's empowering her. They clearly share a bond. Maybe not in the full "soul-linked" sense, but she's still bonded with him in a certain way. She still let him completely willingly in her head, and let him turn her into something entirely else and fuel her with dark powers. So they do have a bond.
Regardless of that, her behaviour is not excusable. Again, I'm not saying she's not right to be angry with her friends. Everypony did make mistakes at the wedding. It's normal Twilight should feel angry and hurt because of what happened. But the way she is behaving is not acceptable. She's acting quite unreasonable (to put it midly), and she is displaying the very behaviour she's angry at her friends for. That's being a hypocrit, and it's not really a good thing if we're supposed to sympathise with her. You can't condemn somebody for doing something when you're doing it yourself, which is what is happening here. Again, I understand that she's angry, and it's logical she is. But that doesn't mean the way she is behaving is excusable either. After all, she bears part of the blame for everything that happened, too. You need two sides to have an argue, after all. You can't argue with yourself (well, you can, but that's stupid).
1418741
Oh, sure, her anger is justified, but her behaviour isn't. There is a difference.
(looks at eveyone else) am I the only one that saw the dirty joke in this chapter?
Also, I love this story, keep it up. Keep it up. Keep it up.
UpuupupupupupupupupUP!!!!
1417173 one, i like doubt, he's pretty much the completely justified and likable villain. trying to do what he thinks is right (and is from viewpoints that are by my morals, are.) for the world. DOUBT B BEST ALICORN OC.
Loving the debate about whether Twilight is right or the others are right. I will only throw this out there and see what happens: Who says one side is right?
As for Doubt, I will make this simple comment: There is a reason mirrors are his theme.
1419011
Neither side is right, actually. They're both behaving like idiots.
1419112
And you hit upon the truth of fights and the breaking of friendships... no one is ever truly right. No one is truly wrong. Things can go bad so fast that it leaves you wondering how it all went so bad... friends can make mistakes and cling to their believes and never see the other side...
...but there is always hope. I believe it was Tolkien who believed that there should be the opposite of the rapid fall, the rapid rise... that darkness can pass just as suddenly as it rose and the world can be redeemed and happiness can rule again.
I guess it depends on where you fall.
Faith... or Doubt.
Loving the whole plot of the story. Many might argue this but I do believe that Twilight was a bit justified when so turned her back on her friends and family. They all turn their backs on Twilight when she needed it most and not a single one of them tried to help. With Shining Armor I do believe Twilight has reason to be mad at him because well if you think about it Shinning and Twilight haven't spoken to each other in years, and the first bit of contact they had was when Shinning doubt this whole wedding on Twilights head at the last second.
At times Twilight may have over reacted but here are the three reasons i would let that fact slip by:
1) She was not in the right mind at the time and strong emotions like anger and sadness tend to overpower your reasoning causing you to do something you had no control over.
2) I understand why she would be upset with her friends and family though it may not have been so bad at the time but it can still hurt like hell and you feel like you should get back at them for what they did.
3) She was experiencing freedom for the first time in her whole life, not worrying what others think, not have to follow anyone's expectations, and finally able to relax and unwind which quite frankly she deserves it.
On another note, like the Doubt's way of thinking, He looks out for those who were neglected, turned away from or simply ignored, giving them a gift so they can get their message out but letting them have complete control of their own actions. It gives me an interesting perspective on light and dark, many of them believed he was the evil one when all he did was gave them a rare gift and let them decide what they would do with it. Like with Twilight, she now has a new power boost from the dark magic, but she doesn't want to destroy anything but just live the life she always wanted. This just shows that anything can be viewed as good or evil but it all matters on how you look at it and what you are going to do about it.
If anyone wants to question or argue about this go right ahead, this is how I see this whole story and where I make my stand in this. Nothing you can say will change my mind about this.
