On the eve of the Summer Sun Celebration, Spike discovers all of Ponyville has been trapped in a deep sleep by an unknown enemy. What's more, even he himself is falling victim to the spell. Fortunately, the Princess of the Night is wide awake, even when she sleeps.

Twilight Sparkle has learned a new trick; a spell that allows her and her friends to enter realistic dream worlds within the margin of their subconscious. But these dreams are as malleable as they are dangerous, and each additional trip they take into the mind to study this new magic threatens to cause them serious harm and skew Twilight's perception of reality.

Meanwhile, Spike is beginning to struggle with an old demon of his again. Only this time, his greed is more tempting, more malicious, and sentient: scheming to consume his every thought like a virus until there is nothing left of him but avarice.

In danger of watching their friend become their new nemesis, Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy must travel deep into Spike's subconscious and plant a thought in his mind that will forever make him contradict his dragon heart's innate inclination for greed. However, their mission will not be easy, their journey will not be safe, nor may their intentions even be justifiable in the face of their actions.

But sometimes, to save your friends, you must change them.

An alternate take on the ending of Episode 24: Owl's Well that Ends Well

Driven away from home by jealousy and loneliness, Spike finds himself in the cave of a rather large dragon. However, instead of attacking, the great beast takes him under his wing, teaching him to become a proper, vicious dragon, filling the emptiness left by his friends with rage. But, when Spike's small size and immaturity take him to the brink of frustration, the magical alternative his new "friend" proposes could change the course of his life forever.

Female dragons lay the eggs, and the males take over from there. So when Spike finds a dead male dragon with an egg, instincts kick in. There's no way he's going to let the hatchling die. However, the unhatched egg brings some questions into light. Who is Spike? How was Twilight able to hatch him? Where did Spike come from and where is his father? The answers to these question, along with raising a baby dragon, may cost Spike everything.

I look as darkness looms ominously over the world as the threat of total annihilation from the 'Nameless One' draws closer. If we are to have a chance win the coming war much needs to be done. Sadly, only Golden Heart, the newest Keeper of Harmony, Discord and myself are all that really stands against the rising tide...

To go with the threat of war the dragons must be brought back to a harmonious state, but that will be difficult to accomplish as outside of the dragon migration dragons are fractured and solitary... plus overly prideful and stubborn...

Though I'm deathly ill from a strange illness, I will help guide Golden Heart as he attempts to overcome the seemingly insurmountable problems that plague the dragon race. For all our sakes I hope he succeeds for if not I fear we may not have the strength to win...
