This story came from an idea I blogged about a while back. Some of the details will change and have changed, but it has the basic gist of what I have planned.

Celestia was betrayed by Discord many years ago, tricked into believing that Equis's doom was nigh.

The result was each and every sapient inhabitant on the planet moving to an uninhabited world, but Celestia being left behind as a consequence.

And yet as the years pass on by and nothing changes...something does.

Read on as the mare recalls what she can, whilst fighting her gradual slip into a false reality.

Where a young human is her son.

Where the impossibility is explained as a gift from The Great Mother herself.

Where memories fade and delusions take their place.

Or have they already?

This story is a small prologue of sorts to an upcoming story simply called Mother?. It's just a drabble I magicked up in an hour or so, hope you enjoy it.

It's the year 2559. The UNSC barely managed to fight off the hordes of the Covenant. That victory came at a hefty price. With the war over and the rebuilding process beginning, the UNSC Tuscany is sent out to investigate potential new worlds to colonize. It's crew and captain are in for a surprise when a gravitational anomaly turns into a tense situation where cooler heads must prevail.

None among us holds all the answers in the heart of the most solemn and barren night. Have you questioned all the madness you invite? What your life is all about? Every night I struggle through it once more, bottling up myself to preserve for a time when I do not fear losing it. Every day I put a brave face on, feeling helpless to face it alone. It is hard, sometimes, to tell that I cannot change who I am, how I feel. There is no end for me.

None can imagine what I must go through, every single day, as I spiral further and further from what I need. I am not asking any to save me, however; I'm too far from the light.

The Didact was stopped and the Composer destroyed, but at what cost. Master Chief (Chief or John) would have given his own life for the human race, but in an act of valor Cortana sacrificed her last remnants to save John. Now with no AI. and no friend with him, he floats towards an unknown planet which looks like paradise. Soon he learn that friendship is already following him through fate, but will he accept?

Comet likes using a halberd. Angel excels at using claws.

Comet is a pegasus. Angel is a bat pony.

Together, they take on all the twists and turns life hands them. However, things don't always go as planned.

To say that the Wonderbolt's last trip to Manehatten was eventful would be an understatement. Spitfire broke her wing, met Rainbow Dash, dated Rainbow Dash, and a planned thunderstorm went out of control landing many ponies in the hospital. Now with Spitfire getting "promoted" to command of the Wonderbolt's Academy and Rainbow Dash on the mend from her own injuries, the two will learn just how much life can still throw at them.

Meanwhile, Soarin and Rapidfire must come to grips with their new roles as leaders of the Wonderbolts. Soarin doesn't know if he's up to the task, and Rapidfire doesn't know if he even wants to stay. All these trials and more await them further on up the road...

Scootaloo's Hearth's Warming Eve went something like this: No presents, no family, and for the first time in as long as she can remember, no friends. Now, just as she thinks she's hit rock bottom, a new door opens up in the form of a new friend named Star Struck, a bat pony she's never seen around Ponyville before. The question is: is this the door Scootaloo wants, or even needs? Or is it just another one to hit her on the flank as she walks out?

Either way, his offer is going to be pretty hard to refuse...

An unexpected encounter with a stallion helps Fluttershy feel better about a personal problem... And then hilarity ensues.
