Oh fuck, here we go...
KICK THEIR ASSES!!!
....Shit's going down.
Well, this is going to go over swimmingly.
Well, I think it's safe to say none of use saw this one coming.
oh boy, this has gotten really really dark
Holy sheeit!
AW SHIT SON
Holy shit.
I HATE this development, but I suppose something had to happen to keep the story progressing.
This is extremly dark suddenly. Just wow. I hope he will be saved soon. I do believe that Twilight is smart enough to place a tracking spell on him.
I hope I finally get my "keep your stinkin hooves off me" moment
oh please let him be saved soon, i know twilight should be able to find him. with her powerfull magic.
im fine with this darker turn though, its good to get some drama into the story again, and i can see some very juicy situation comming out of this.
wonder if this in part of discords plan (im presumming he is the mastermind behind Max afterall)
or if this i a detour he didnt plan, then even himself might get involved.
meh, looking forward to next.
as always max, you leave me wanting for more. why havent time travel machines been built yet?
My reaction right now.

Shit is going to go down.
Honestly, you're kinda fucked when going up against another human that's rabid with no intelligence. Now kick him in the balls to stun him while fending off the other guy's arms and punch him in the throat for massive damage. A piece of broken wood to stab with would be better than bare hands.
High and holy fuck‼
This can't be good for many reasons… I wonder if Twilight has a means of tracking Max if he were ever kidnapped/foalnapped?
Dang, Twillight is gonna tear Sunny a new one for this.
approximate update time
3266445 Update time? Isn't this the time that I put it on hiatus for several months only to comeback and say that it's cancelled?
...No? Oh darn.
Approximately one week, maybe two if stuff comes up. No longer than 2 weeks though, I swear!

the question is not 'Will he win'. The question is 'Will he kill?'
It seems really unlikely that this human just got assaulted and kidnapped in public.
Or it could just be that this universe is similar to Fallout's in that no one gives half a shit about humans.
Uh oh... Time to put that superior brain to use. This development brings in a whole new spectrum of possibilities. I can't wait for the next chapter!
I saw something like this comeing
It's time to find a way back home, notify the government and volunteer to scout for the first strike team.... To prepare the planet for NUCLEAR BOMBARDMENT!
I really like this series. Hopefully Max will be able to get out of there with all of his limbs. If this last two chapters I'm fine with it. If this lasts 3 chapters I'm still fine. 4 or 5 chapters is kind of pushing it but I'll still read it. Hopefully, since twilight takes a lot into consideration she may be able to track max.
But if twilight is unable to find him then my next guess is Luna and if she can't find him then I would expect Max to escape when the police break up this fighting ring.
what a twist!
not totally unexpected but possible,
I see two major posibilities here, one he fights untils twilight saves him, long talk, friends again! two, darker, he fights, he kills and saved but Twilight has to release him in the everfree before he is killed by the authorities,
even by its darker theme I really like this story, not very much the waiting time but I think it is worth the wait for a good quality chapter.
At the end of the match, when you beat the other human...start laughing. A insane, Joker-like laugh that will instill fear and confusion in all the ponies.
How come nobody see a pony knocking out Max in the middle of the town?

Even in Fallout you couldn't do something like that and not attract at least some attention.
welp...time to put on your war face and wreck those puny ape/humans, go for the jugular and hope they dont cooperate
Lets face it, the outcome of this battle is already determined- he's better fed, taller, smarter, and likely had a significant weight advantage. Killing isn't even necessary- with those advantages he can probably just trap the competitor under him and keep them there until the organizer gets bored.
3267292 They were to busy getting railed by their humans to notice...jk.
>As it’s magenta eyes peered into mine
*its
>The horse seemed to become sadden as it gazed upon the thrones
I become sadden when I see this
>Include Sunny, and a few missing ponies, and the gangs all here
*gang's
3267933 Thank you for the finds.
3268077 Thanks for actually fixing the errors instead of ignoring me
One other thing:
>You could still see her ribs
I suggest changing this to something like "Her ribs were still visible"
Maybe this event will be the one that breaks our hero, and finally make him confront the injustice his kind faces in Equestria.
It's definitely time to get hyped people, something tells me the story is about to kick into overdrive.
3268129 Again, I thank you
3268218 I love you
I thought things were looking up for Max...
YES
Only one way this can be messed up, now I don't expect him to go ape shit, after all he has no protection to magic.. however..... MAKE HIM SOLID SNAKE IT UP, stealth kills mother fucker!
Hmm. Are Equestrian humans some kind of neanderthal, or another precursor to Homo Sapiens? Twilight's observations about physical differences between Max and the other humans seems to point towards this. (I could probably make a more definite statement if I knew anything about evolution or anthropology or the effects of nutrition/socialization on human development or some other related field.)
In any case, this was fun to read; favoriting.
Continue, sir...

Homo neanderthalensis were approximately as smart as Homo sapiens (they had a larger cranial capacity than the average human), and they appeared about 600,000 years ago. No, real world hominins were significantly smarter than the "humans" in this story. For example, Homo habilis, originating 2.33 million years ago, capable of developing and using primitive stone tools; Homo erectus, originating 1.9 million years ago, discovered the use of fire and developed cooking; Homo heidelbergensis, originating 600,000 years ago, have 300,000 year old evidence of proto-language and sophisticated social tools like hunting spears used for large game, requiring the development of organized hunting parties; Homo sapiens sapiens (that's us), originating 200,000 years ago, became behaviorally modern (possessing mental potential equivalent to modern humans) about 50,000 years ago.
So, "humans" the Ponies keep as pets cannot be considered even as smart as our ancestors from over two million of years ago. In fact, the "humans" in this story are about as smart as... well, real ponies. Some might say even less intelligent than real ponies.

Actually it was recently proven that the Neanderthals lived at the same time as an other proto-human: the cro-magron. And that from the two the Neanderthal were pretty much the underdog and were a lost mutation from the sapiens gene.
While they were able to create spears and tools they were not adept enough to evolve them beyond crude tools while their counterpart could, they were intelligent true, but not on a human level as you seem to imply. They were not sapient, but rather had a evolved state of tool-use similair to a advanced chimp. Who can also create tools and use sounds to communicate. But that still does not make them sapient, just intelligent enough to copy what they see.
Aswell as the hunting tactics you describe are more to the magron who has been known to construct special catapult-like objects that could trow a javalin like branch and other artefacts.
But lets not turn this story in a antropology/archeology lesson. The word Neanderthal is commonly used for any type of proto-human so he could have meant a completely different sub-species.
Is there a chance we can see something like this?
3269874 3270083
Well, like I said I don't know anything about human evolution, so any education is good education.
(Our scientists would have a field day if they ever got their hands on Equestrian humans, and I for one would love to see what they figure out.)
3270305
Doesnt matter if you know little, its a tad of a contradictive and obsucre knowledge. Afterall, we can only be sure what they were like once the time-machine is build.
I honestly don't understand how ponies can feel sexually attracted to these humans (I certainly wouldn't be), to the point where bestiality is considered normal.
Do they feel the same way about chimps? It's just...ridiculous.
Applejack might as well have had sex with one of her pigs for crissakes. Seriously, this part and the part with Mrs. Cake made me want to vomit.
3269874 I'm thinking they're a bit more like Homo habilis, physiologically speaking, just with less hair:
shadowness.com/file/item2/40560/image_t6.jpg
Rather than Homo neanderthalensis:
fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/192/2/8/neanderthal_family_by_mihin89-d3lp9jh.jpg
Neanderthals look like people to me; odd looking, certainly, but people none the less.
If you ask me though, I've always considered the entire Homo genus to be "human", or at the very least Homo erectus and beyond.
