Holy shit. Haven't read this one in a while
The one enemy Discord didn't predict. Lady Scratch herself.

it's BACK
I always love to see Humans kicking ass.
Holy moley. Primrose likely dead, all of Canterlot in disarray, and Discord pulling the strings. I can see that the story is almost over, but... dang. This is really tense.
NOT ZEN GLORY! HE WAS MY FAVORITE!!!!!
...But not really.
I've been looking forward to all the action the past few chapters have been building up to, and so far, you haven't disappointed, Max. Keep up the excellent writing, as always.
Don't pull a somber... Don't pull a somber...! Don't pull a- FUCK! Noooo!
Well, I'm off to read the more cheerful chapters....
*Sits starring at screen still processing*
...
...
...AND!?!?!
Me when I saw the title of the chapter:
its goin' down, We're goin timber
Funny thing, as I started reading this chapter The Waters of Mars had just started on my Doctor Who playlist...and one of the first bits is against an aquamancer/hydromancer.
Primrose NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! YOU BASTERED
So yeah... this was awesome. It had humor, some intrigue, an Iron Knuckle pulling a Vriska Serket on a beloved character, just about everything you could ask for in a new YHAY chapter.
6927341 That's pretty much what I did.
6927302 I always love to see humans righteously kicking ass, sadly this group is too dumb for me to even sympathize with their plight...
Except for the armored one, but he took out Primrose.
This chapter...it happened...needs to happen more....
Yes, things are going about as expected, all pieces are in motion. Didn't expect Vinyl to enter the fray though...
Keep going! ;)
Well, now I'm rightly pissed at the humans.
If only there was a way to actually enter a story from real life where we could fully interact, then someone would die.
I've trained with European Swordsmanship, aka, how to REALLY fight with a longsword/broadsword/bastard sword and whatnot.
But did Max get to scratch his nose?! I still dont know!
6927541 do not mistake "dumb" with "deceived."
6927654 I would bow before that, but they had all the information available to see through that paper thin disguise... And I know I'm not the only one who thought that during their chapter.
6927330 Meh, this was a secondary character. Somber killing Glory? That was a very important character. Like if Max here killed Twi... I was going to say Sunny but she became MUCH less important as time has passed.
6927197 yep is alive.
This's chapter "Author's Note" sums it all.
Pure mind sex.
Damn, featured again.

Yeah...making deal with a demon kinda kill any sympathy I have toward them...You never make a deal with the demons.
6927658 how? They didn't know who Discord was. They couldn't understand the native language. And after the horror and insanity they'd been through, the idea of a human-turned-unicorn would hardly be the maddest thing they'd encountered. Take someone, put them through hell, and provide them with one and only one source of information ("paul") and you can lead them around by the nose, easily.
Now what I'd fault these humans on is the same thing I'd fault MAX on: utterly failing to convey their intelligence to the ponies. Speech is not the only way to communicate intelligence. Drawing images in the dirt would have been enough. Or even writing out something in your own language-- even if they couldn't read it, the fact that there was intelligence behind it would be obvious. Drawing a picture, weaving a basket, starting a fire, solving a puzzle, tapping out prime numbers or the fibonacci sequence, whistling a musical scale.... hell, if ponies had typical children's educational toys or household appliances, manipulating those would work,
I could accept their failure to convince the ponies of their intelligence somewhat if they had at least TRIED.
6927743 I'll agree on the second half, but for the first I'm more bothered by how they accepted him so easily. I know that when you first find someone who can understand you after being considered a dumb animal, you aren't going to be thinking "How are they conning me" first.. but I would expect questions on what happened while they've been gone. "Have they started to search for me?" "What happened with the war?" "Did the Ponies start a search for me yet?" Many of these kinds of questions are easy enough to dodge or manipulate, but I'm sure that 'Paul' would start to seem strange when he can't really give any input on the smaller details of life before being taken from Earth.. Especially once he brings more Humans together, considering the time differences for when they're removed they would want to ask each other about what has changed.

Yeach it's a plothole but hey it's magical land of ponies so "Discord did it" and stop question WHY?
Been a while since this story was given any attention by me, so Max seems oddly pointless in this chapter, if not for the referencing, to me.
Ah, well. I'll learn eventually.
6927300
It'll be back.
*Slams head on table* You can't do this to me, life! First RWBY, then The Flash, then The monster below: Nightfall and now this? Why must you leave on such a hopeless notion?!
This chapter really just didn't go well for me. Not much happened this chapter except for Lots of injury and death, which isn't bad in and of itself, but to me all the scenes just seemed incredibly unrealistic for the most part. For example, near the end of the Search and Seizure section, Night Light and Max's guards were politely introducing themselves to each other from across the hallway/room in the middle of a fight. I would think there wouldn't be any time at all for that kind of thing, and that the humans would maybe charge or do something offensive during this exchange, but they seem to just sit there. This type of scene seemed to happen consistently throughout this chapter, and as such I found myself not enjoying it that much.
However, this is just my personal opinion, I realize many enjoyed this chapter. Regardless though, I am still pumped for the next chapter given your record with this story and what's at stake.
Wow, Canterlot is under attack and Twillight is still hell bent of finding Max first? Aaaaah, the thing Love does to common sense.
Now there's a vision of horror. Princess Velociraptor, holding court now.
6927764 Indeed. They didn't ask the important questions. Namely, why should they believe him? HE seems to have all the information. He knows EXACTLY how many humans there are, and is able to find them all easily enough, whats more he says he is the first... How does he know that?! For all they know, Terran Humans have been slipping in for thousands of years! And there could be older humans that died before meeting others. How would he know he is the very first. What's more, with how humans are treated, how could he search for them freely without being caught, tortured, or turned into a pet? NONE OF THEM ever thought about that stuff?!
What's more, the humans here are bucking hypocritical bastards! Max even points it out, humans will do test on 'dumb' animals, and even other humans. And humans will hate only those that did the test, not the whole species. But EVERY SINGLE HUMAN there, other than max, damns the whole species without a second thought. They don't even try to see things through Max's point of view. Some of them, with all the very worse of tortures, those I can understand. But what about the others?! Max went through worse things than most of them, and still comes out knowing not all ponies to blame, but the others want to murder every single pony.
6927957
That's the real problem there. They're too unified on the whole matter. It borders on unrealistic. If you get three people into a room, they won't even be able to agree on what's for dinner. Somehow, though, all these one hundred people can agree unanimously that all ponies are evil and need to die? It's hard to swallow.
Cliffhanger, nice to meet you again, now to wait until august.
That's the problem with slavery. Slave revolts always happen at the most inopportune times.

Thank you for introducing that into my life.
