After hearing The Tale of the Two Sisters from Sunset Shimmer, Si-Twi writes to Princess Twilight to ask Princess Luna about if she had the same kinds of nightmares and if of when they will stop?

After hanging out with her best friends, Twilight was heading home through the neighborhood, enjoying her day. When she noticed a huge crowd gathering around in one place, Twilight was curious until she spotted a certain magician from her school, performing her street magic in front of the crowd. What really got Twilight's attention was that her dog, Spike, was strapped in some kind a box and was about to be cut in half by Trixie. After saving Spike with her own magic, Twilight decided she have a bone to pick with the self-proclaimed magician.

This story is a sequel to Ponyville Sunlight

After agreeing to be her date, Princess Twilight Sparkle crosses the portal to accompany Sunset Shimmer to the prom. They're not going alone of course; Sunset's human friends are coming, too. With good friends, beautiful dresses, fancy dinners, and formal dancing, Twilight thinks she's really going to enjoy the prom. Of course, what Twilight and Sunset are looking forward to most is spending more time with each other. The prom will certainly be a night to remember.

Knowing that every human inexplicably has an Equestrian pony counterpart? Sunset yawns at this news. Being trapped in a collapsing mirror world? Not weird, but maybe a little scary. Having to play peacemaker when two Twilight Sparkles argued over who had the better boyfriend? That may have been unexpected, but not odd.

But the fact that Princess Twilight's boyfriend was a book and the teenage Twilight's boyfriend was a smartphone? Now that bit of weirdness wasn't so easy to shake off...

Twilight Sparkle doesn't appreciate Sunset's reluctance to talk about the past. She's been studying the strange activities surrounding Shimmer since they were teenagers, and has only found further questions. But a murder with ties to Equestria gives Twilight the chance to learn the truth about magic. To stop a terrible enemy from rising again, they must both journey through the mirror. Enlightenment is at Twilight's fingertips.

While walking by Fluttershy's house one night, Sunset hears what sounds like Rainbow Dash being tortured by a malevolent Fluttershy. When Rainbow Dash doesn't appear the following day, the girls decide to take a look at Fluttershy's house, where they find evidence that makes it appear that Fluttershy is not the gentle, harmless girl they know after all.
