Set after this clip, and it's their first night...



"So... Twilight, you feel like going to sleep yet?" Sunset Shimmer asked her friend.

"Not yet Sunset," Twilight Sparkle said looking for something to keep her awake longer "I... Need to brush my hair..." she said pulling out her brush from her bag and starting to do just that.

Sunset Shimmer knew what was happening, and Spike, Twilight's dog, had mentioned it too, Twilight was having nightmares about what happened at the Friendship Games. 

Trying to think of a way to end this, Sunset looked to her book, the one that was connected to Equestria, and got an idea.

"Hey Twilight," she said getting a light hum to show the purple haired girl was listening "How about when you're doing that, I tell you a story from where I'm from?" 

"Um... Ok," Twilight said, always interested in listening to these things.

Smiling, Sunset pulled out a book of stories she had been making about all the 'Old Mare's Tales' that were in Equestria [With a little help from Princess Twilight] and turned to 'The Tale of the Two Sisters'

"Ok, this one's about the Pony Princess versions of Principle Celestia and Vice-Principle Luna..." Sunset said looking to Twilight and Spike, seeing they were ready.

'Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there were two regal sisters that ruled together and bring harmony throughout the land.' Sunset began hardly looking at the book, as if she knew this story off my heart, instead looking to Twilight.

'To do this, the eldest, used her Unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn, the younger brought out the moon to begin the night. Thus the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects all the different types of ponies.'

"Um Sunset, how exactly is is meant to help Twilight?" Spike asked feeling he had an idea on what this was for.

"You'll know it when i get there Spike, just be patient," Sunset said turning the page and continuing.

'But as time went on, the younger sister started to grow jealous,' Sunset said.

"That's the one that's Vice-Principle Luna right?" Twilight asked to make sure, getting a nod in return.

'The ponies relished and played in the day her elder sister brought forth. But always slept through her beautiful night.'
'One faithful day, the younger sister refused to lower the moon to make way for the dawn. The elder sister tried to reason with her, but the bitterness in the young ones heart turned her into a wicked mare of darkness Nightmare Moon.'

"Oh... that's what this is for..." Spike said getting 'Shhhed' by Twilight who was listening very carefully now.

'She vowed that she will shroud the land in eternal night. Reluctantly, the elder sister harnessed the most powerful magic know to ponykind... The Elements of Harmony.'
'Using the magic of the Elements of Harmony, she defeated her younger sister and placed her permanently in the moon. The elder sister then took responsibility of both sun and moon and peace reigned in the land of Equestria ever since.
Although it was said that on the longest day of the one thousandth year the stars would aid in her escape, and she'll be back to bring eternal night, but then the new generation of the Elements of Harmony stepped up and changed her back into Princess Luna.' Sunset finished looking to Twilight who had her thinking face on.

"Well that was it," she said closing the book and placing it away, making it so her book and a pen were easy for Twilight to get to, if she wanted to do what Sunset had... hopefully rigged up for her "Goodnight." 

"Huh, oh yeah um... Night Sunset..." Twilight said, looking at her friend's book.
