He never saw it coming. The glaring high beams and blaring honking wasn’t enough, and it never would be.

Marcus thought this would be the end, that he would finally have a place. But fate…well, it’s pretty finicky, especially when it comes to death.

Speaking of Death, there she is.

…

She wants what?!?! Infinity stones?! In exchange for what?!

…

Well now she’s got Marcus’ attention.

After a mysterious frost falls over the lands of Equestria, ponies are forced to flee to the Far North to escape the eternal winter. There, around several coal-powered furnaces called Generators, they may generate enough heat to guarantee the survival of ponykind and civilization among the snow and frost.

However, as the temperature drops, and their situation becomes increasingly desperate, the ponies of New Ponyville must make the hard decisions.

What is the worth of a foal's life?

What lengths must be taken while facing starvation?

What must be sacrificed in the name of survival?

Where is the line between leader and tyrant?

There is only one wholistic truth among the howling winds and biting cold: The City Must Survive.

A mistake with an ancient book of dark magic results in Twilight being 'living-impaired'. What follows is a series of (mis)adventures involving tax evasion and constant decapitation.

The chapters are short. I know. I like small bite-sized scenes, and it burns me out less.

Though this story is a comedy, please take note of the Gore and Dark tags. If that kind of stuff and dark comedy is unpleasant for you, I'd recommend reading something else.

This story is a sequel to Foal Necromancer

I got as far as I could. I wish I had more free time, but I need to face the music.
This project is dead. Feel free to have your laugh and then do better if you have an excess of free time.

By sequel, I mean rework. A re-adaptation. A different take on an already well-acclaimed story...

Please bear with me now.

I might've been talking big about wanting to make a better iteration. None of that was bragging at all, and none of that necesarily suggests that I should create a version the same as the original, only refined and polished.

That's not going to happen. I'm not Kytranis 2.0. I got my own shtick. And frankly, there are a lot of things that Kytra did that I do not agree with. Similarly, there are a lot of things I myself will do that the die-hard fans of the original will not care for either. Also, there's nothing wrong with wanting to surpass your predecessor, for the LOVE OF FU-

I will try a different take on the same central themes and general starting circumstances as the original, but everything else after that is going to be my own thing. A new shot aiming for the same target.

I don't actually owe the fans of the original anything in particular. All I owe is that for my own sake, and for the sake of anyone who might potentially take time out of their schedule to read my work, I need to create the best thing I personally can, through what means I personally can. That means through my own vision, not through someone else's vision.

The young are defined by moving ever forward and making mistakes, which they either learn from or disregard. You don't survive long if you don't learn from your shortcomings and adapt.

The Living Lich survived for a very long time. He has much to look back on and reflect on, before he can understand what happened and move on.

Princess Luna has had an even longer life than one can imagine. She forgot more things than most mortals experience in their lifetimes. She ventures to teach the necromancer a new way of life, but knowledge can be shared both ways.

Scientia. the Goddess of Technology, and Silvanus, the God of Nature, have been sworn enemies since the dawn of time. As a result of their animosity towards eachother their demigod children have been waging war on eachother since prehistoric times.

Gerhardt Scientia Mechanica and Pixel Scientia Mechanica are Scientia's youngest children. And like all of her children they are both highly skilled technomancers. After their father died trying to buy them time to run away during an assassination attempt on them by Silvanus's children they are now living with their oldest living half brother, Alexander Scientia Calculo, in the Church of Science and Technology. However the war between their family and Slivanus's family continues to rage on.

One day, they and their older brother come under attack by Viridios, the oldest living child of Silvanus. Of course their older brother tries to defend them. However during Alexander and Viridios's battle Viridios ends up breaking an experimental teleportation device that Alexander had been working on and the device explodes. After that all four of them along with the entire building they are in are spontaneously sent to Equestria. However, their bodies appear to have undergone a drastic and unexpected change.

No matter the universe as long as at least one member of both of their families continues to exist the war between their families shall never end. However Viridios is not the only challenge they must face. For they are immortal and in a land like Equestria where friendship is so highly valued, should they gain friends they place themselves at risk of eventually falling victim to the condition known as "Accidia Immortalium". A mental condition that immortals will all eventually fall prey to after outliving enough of their former mortal friends and loved ones.

Thus they must avoid getting too close to anyone while adapting to their new forms and preparing for their next encounter with Viridios.

(Since this story seems to be almost as disliked as it is liked, I've written one final variation of this story. You can find it here. I'm only continuing one of them. So which one would you guys prefer I continue. You can vote: Here.)

It all used to be so simple: find a lead, survey the land, and grab a take to tide the Gang over for a few months. But the era of outlaws in the Equestrian Southwest is coming to an end, and it has no tolerance for ponies like Kestrel. Wanted by the law and stealing just to survive, Kestrel will have to take the fate of her band of outlaws into her own hooves and try to give them a good life... or die trying.

A comment-driven Choose Your Own Adventure story inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2. Key events in some chapters are in part influenced by dice rolls, which can be seen in my discord server. Be wary as the dice rolls may spoil current and past chapters.

As this story is different from traditional fare, there are a few caveats going in, inspired by another great CYOA story:

  1. The chapters will be kept fairly short, ideally not longer than 1500 words per chapter, barring the choices and author's notes.
  2. The vote will always have the last say, even if the choice they have chosen is suboptimal in terms of its effects in-world.
  3. The story will end once the fate of the Gang is resolved, though it may end prematurely if Kestrel dies before this can happen.

You can see Kestrel's character sheet, along with important information about the Gang, here.

In the dreary city of Canterlot, all that remains of a once-mighty Equestria, Rarity is restless. She's a skilled machinist, owner of her own repair shop, but the work is dull and lifeless. She longs to feel like she's important, like she's making a difference, like she could be somepony.

And with the griffon army continually threatening Equestria's security, there's no better way to contribute than to join the Royal Canterlot Army. They're always on the lookout for skilled engineers, and with her talent, it's not like they'd make her actually fight anypony... right?

This story is a prequel to Lover of the Moon, but they can be read in any order. Originally written for the first Quills and Sofas Expanding Universes contest, where it won first place.

Many thanks to Silent for creating such a fun universe to play in, and for inspiring this story. This story is posted with their permission.

Sequel: Left Behind: Sunny Disposition
Apparently it was scouted and is on EqD too

Nightmare Moon was meant to be released after a thousand years. A momentous occasion for her but terrifying for all the ponies on her day of freedom. She would get revenge on her sister and cover the world in darkness and shape everything to fit it.

That was the plan, at least. Instead, something went awry with the spell and she wasn't released when she was supposed to be. The mare-in-the-moon is brought into a world with stagnated technology, giant cities, and no sign of her sister or any of the other immortals. In fact, ponies don't seem terrified of her at all, and the stay within the core of her powers infused and changed the alicorn's body drastically.

The alicorn had no obstacles left! But...she was also a relic of the past. A past everyone seemed to have forgotten. A past she could no longer look upon.
