This story is a sequel to Celestia

Villains rarely appear out of thin air. They start as most creatures do, but fall victim to fate, choice, manipulation... or love. Princess Luna's descent into the Nightmare is something that has been long forgotten by modern ponies, but Luna will always remember.

(Sequel to Celestia, and a part of the past that she would rather keep hidden. Reading Celestia is strongly recommended!)
(Many thanks to my prereaders Noble Cause, Metallusionsismagic, and BradTheBrony!)
(Character tags will be added as the story develops!)
(Coverart is a placeholder for the moment, until I get something better!)
(BEWARE POTENTIAL SPOILERS IN COMMENTS!)

This story is a sequel to Stardust

Everyone knows the story of Hearths Warming Eve. They know the tales of the three pony tribes and how their strife brought the Windigoes upon them, and how the Fires of Friendship saved them from their frozen fates. For countless generations the tale has been told, but how has it changed over those years?

Or is any of it true in the first place?

Only one pony knows, and Celestia would prefer that the past stay forgotten.

(Based on a 'What If' line of thought that was born from the Stardust storyline. While some familiarity with Stardust and Mente Materia doesn't hurt, this story can be enjoyed on its own)
(Coverart available soon from the amazing FoxInShadow!)
(Many thanks to Arzoo, BradTheBrony, Vandenbz, and Setokaiva for prereading!)
(Complete with it's own TVTropes page as part of the Stardust continuity)
(Character tags will be added as chapters are added!)
(Possible spoilers in the comments! BEWARE!)

But when she appeared, she was not what we were expecting...

How will the truth be uncovered and what will be sacrificed to undo this nightmare?

After the War of the Ring and the return of peace to Middle-earth, Gandalf the White departs for Equestria to visit two old friends of his; specifically, a certain pair of alicorn sisters.

Yet he does not foresee that Equestria, like ponykind, has changed with the years since his previous visit, and so he is quite unprepared for what lies ahead. Can the Wizard endure the trials that this new journey will bring? Surely, but only if he makes a few more friends along the way.

Six more, to be exact.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:
1. This is a prequel to Rebirth of the Damned.
2. You don't have to read the first story to know what's going on here, or this one to understand what's going on there.
3. This story is planned to be shorter than Rebirth of the Damned, so I won't update this one as frequently as the other one.
4. Again, I kindly remind that english is my second languege.
5. There might be sex and gore in some chapters later on, I haven't decided yet. You have been warned.
6. Hope you like it.

His evil was legend. He was an entity of incalculable power and unparalled malice - his icy soul utterly consumed by his plans to destroy all of life, until he was stopped and defeated. But what if that wasn't the end? What if he was given a second chance, in another world? For he was not always like this. Nobody is born evil. But anyone can turn evil. Will he become a hero? Or is he doomed to repeat his mistakes and walk the same path as before, the Path of the Damned?
