However, you always expect some kind of minor surprise, like your train arriving a little too late, or your ice-cream having vanilla taste rather than strawberry. But sometimes, life will give you surprises you could never predict. For Fluttershy, it was three little foals. But not her own foals, or even orphans. Three little foals that used to be her and her friends' most fearsome and dreaded foes.

Long ago, the Monsters and Humans fought a great war. The Monsters lost, and were sealed in the Underground. It would take the power of seven human souls to break the barrier that kept them imprisoned. They only had six. And so the Monsters waited and hoped, praying that another human would find their way to the Underground. Some thought the seventh soul would give their King the strength to break the barrier. Some dreamed of a human who would be their friend, and save them all...or had nightmares of one who would bring back the war.

...but nobody came.

...but somepony did.

Eons after the war, with no way to tell how much time had passed above, a tiny blue filly with wings and horn fell into the underground, calling for her Mama. None knew the poor creature's nature or origins...but her soul was powerful with magic, even more so than a human soul.

None can know what will come...of this little 'Woona'.

This story takes place between S3 E13 “Magical Mystery Cure” and S4 E25 “Twilight’s Kingdom”.

Sink holes have been appearing around the Everfree Forest and even as close as the outskirts of Ponyville, so the Royal Sisters know that it is time to strike a treaty with the Diamond Dogs before their tunneling causes houses to disappear into the ground.

While they’re away, they have to deputise two ponies to run Equestria on their behalf and the only two with sufficient magic are Twilight and Nyx.

How will Nyx react?

Is she ready for such power again?

Coming to grasp with your true self is never easy, especial not when you are the only one of your kind.

Sweetie - the cybernetic filly, is struggling with this reality. And has been attending sessions under Twilight Sparkle, to help herself coupe with her situation.

While there she runs into Nyx. And the black little filly is not happy to see her.

Feeling cheated by the notion that there was another 'artificial construct ' living right under her nose this whole time, the former reincarnation of Nightmare moon has a little difficult accepting Sweeties supposed secrecy as anything more then excuses.

But there is more then meets the eye in every conflict. And one small quarrel over differences might leas the two to discover that they have more in common then they might think.

Rated teen for some mild violence and some cartoonish yet rude names being used.

Mort, also known as the Pale Pony (of Death), has been tasked to take time off from his rigorous duties of reaping souls. Seeking guidance, he is directed towards the town of Ponyville, to learn about the magic of friendship from Twilight Sparkle and her friends. All he needs to do is keep his true nature a secret. That shouldn't be too difficult...right?

Today is Father's Day, a most joyous occasion for Discord to spend time with Celestia and Luna. Even though technically he isn't their father. Kind of. It's complicated.
