Hero, usually depicted as a generic name, is nothing great, but also nothing terrible; there are no upsides or downsides. Hero is a staple name and it gets the job done. In its simplicity, it is a remarkable placeholder character. The novels I've been working on for the past two years depict Hero as an ordinary stallion who is technically non-binary from a generic standpoint. However, it is widely considered male barring a few extraordinary circumstances.
