It has been nearly a thousand years since Twilight Sparkle died. Celestia and Luna are gone. The Holy Equestrian Diarchy, ruled by a bigoted and brutal theocracy, has driven ponies apart and divided them along tribal lines. Unicorns are driven from society, feared and hated.

The lessons of friendship, painstakingly written down in the journal of friendship by Princess Twilight and her friends, have been warped and twisted to fit the Diarchy's hateful ideology. But to the average pony, this is the truth and reality of the world they live in, beset on all sides by enemies monstrous and magical.

Emberglow, a young pegasus mare, aspires to join the elite Knights, magically enhanced warriors dedicated to the holy Saints worshiped by the state religion. Can she uncover the lies and deceptions that have led the world to this bitter place?

Our story begins on the planet Valexa, where the beleaguered Militia has launched a last-ditch effort to call for help against overwhelming odds.

Written with those who are not familiar with the BattleTech/MechWarrior universe in mind.

Blackout is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Military of Equestria. He is leader of an elite unit used to deal with problems by force while keeping a low profile. Most ponies say they don't exist, and none know about the operations they carry out. This is the story of the Aces.

A young man with a love of military history and MLP:FIM finds himself dragged into Equestria as war threatens the pony nation.

I got the idea for this story from my Civil War book collection and Altoid's Blood and Guts and Ponies story, as it involves a human coming to Equestria to aid in its defense, partly by modernizing it's military and leading its forces on the battlefield.

Just a warning; the main character is Christian and pro-Union. Just to give people a heads up.

After a fall and a blow to the head, Lyra begins to have hallucinations that she's a young human girl in mental hospital. As she flashes back and forth between the two, medical personnel in each do their best to cure her of her delusions. But as the day wears on Lyra begins to question which world is real and which one is only a mental construction. How can she pick one world, when they both seem so convincing? And what happens if she chooses incorrectly?

Geralt of Rivia, the legendary, (if slightly amnesiac) White Wolf -- Drops unceremoniously from an unstable portal into the middle of a dark, enchanted forest. It's anyone's guess what will happen next....

-- Especially if the closest pony happens to be Lyra, right?

A few points:

-- I was Inspired by a song called 'Silver and Steel' by miracleofsound on Youtube to buy both games and both the English-translated books: The Last Wish, and Blood of Elves. The other books have yet to be published in english.
-- I'll admit that I played through the games on Easy mode, for the most part, so I'm a little biased when it comes to Geralt's sheer lethality in everything he does, despite his occasional problems in the books.
-- I'll probably have some form of sex/clop in here at some point, and I'll update the tags if/when I feel it's necessary. It IS the Witcher, after all. Hide your women
--Any polish in here is a nod to the origin of the whole shebang. The Witcher is originally polish.... It's just that whatever polish IS in here, I had to use a cheap translator to convert it. If you actually speak/read polish and it doesn't seem quite right, that's why. Sry.

I'll rely on anyone who cares to give me improved wording, and update my chapters accordingly.

-- Finally, this is my first attempt to write anything very ambitious in over 5 years, so my grammar, punctuation and general creativity are probably quite rusty. This is also my first FiMFiction, so don't kill me if I don't get it quite right, right?
