DismantledAccount

I am running from something I'm becoming, but becoming one means I'm running from all I am.

A bit about me:

I'm a level-headed guy.
But there's a wolf inside.
Fair, honest, and loyal.
Cold, logical, and calculating.

I'm not a very positive guy and a critic at heart, so don't be offended if all I offer is constructive criticism on your story. That means I liked it enough to where I felt it was worth my time to do my best to help you. The more I give you, the more I liked it. Conversely, it just means I felt like helping out on that particular day.

I dabble in the written arts, but my work is honestly not that good. I'm working on it. Other people seem to be amused, however. Even got a few to stick around.

I'm an editor who people like and prereader for The Royal Guard, so I guess I've got to be doing something right. Reliable and punctual, to the best of my ability. Feel free to ask me for help with something.

Ditzy is my favorite pony.

I don't swear; I find it appalling. I won't read or write clop; the mere thought is disgusting.

Make of me what you will.

Woof.

Quotes worth sharing.

It is the soldier, not the minister, who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag. Who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag. Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Without the brave efforts of all the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines and their families, this nation, along with our allies around the world, would not stand so boldly, shine so brightly and live so freely.

No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

~John Stuart Mill

There are soldiers with good reasons; and reasons for good soldiers.

THE MARINE

We all came together,
Both young and old
To fight for our freedom,
To stand and be bold.

In the midst of all evil,
We stand our ground,
And we protect our country
From all terror around.

Peace and not war,
Is what some people say.
But I'll give my life,
So you can live the American way.

I give you the right
To talk of your peace.
To stand in your groups,
and protest in our streets.

But still I fight on,
I don't bitch, I don't whine.
I'm just one of the people
Who is doing your time.

I'm harder than nails,
Stronger than any machine.
I'm the immortal soldier,
I'm a U.S. MARINE!

So stand in my shoes,
And leave from your home.
Fight for the people who hate you,
With the protests they've shown.

Fight for the stranger,
Fight for the young.
So they all may have,
The greatest freedom you've won.

Fight for the sick,
Fight for the poor
Fight for the cripple,
Who lives next door.

But when your time comes,
Do what I've done.
For if you stand up for freedom,
You'll stand when the fight's done.

Recent stories and . . . that's pretty much it, actually.

Heh. Glad you like my bookshelves. 'Twas a stroke of genius that led me to make semi-meaningful feedback without having to leave a comment.

Thanks for the up vote! Hey! I love the way you've figured out how to make an up vote actually meaningful – and less anonymous! I'm going to do the same from now on.
