A K Yearling, perhaps better known by her pseudonym Daring Do, has passed, and she left behind a legacy. Her entire vault was left to Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle, including one particular artifact coupled with an ancient mystery the adventurer never quite solved.

The Seven Sided Chest of Chicomoztok, a mysterious artifact connected to an ancient legend, one that Yearling was puzzling over in her final days. This mystery has now passed onto Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, and their friends. This one mystery will lead them on a journey that spans countless worlds, and is bigger than anything Yearling ever imagined.

They are about to discover the Realms of Existence.

Sunset Shimmer, twice savior of Canterlot High who earned her wings by using the combined magic of the Earth elements of harmony to save the world from Twilight Sparkle (you know... the one with the glasses). Talon Wind has never heard of Everfree Village, or Equestria, or even ponies. She’s a wyvern, one of only six thousand still alive after the Endless War, well, ended. Refugees from their homeland, they’ve entered into an alliance with a species of dragons called drakes. The drakes are having a hard time of life as well. Some other species went and built a city on the land where they get their food. So now the continued survival of the Dragon Alliance depends on them getting that land back. What was the city called again? Oh right, the Crystal Empire.

This story is a sequel to The Perilous Romance of Swans

Winter. A quiet time, perfect for reflection, spending time with loves ones and family members. It is also the time of Equestria's recovery after the tumultuous events that took place during the autumn; Mister Mariner's insurrection, a season of chaos, and the fall of Queen Chrysalis.

Now, Princess Celestia struggles to hold it all together. Every day is a crisis, but Equestria is being rebuilt. The nation recovers from Mister Mariner's gambit. The nobles of Canterlot are more active and more useful then ever before. Princess Luna is getting better, recovering more and more of herself every day.
