Twilight Sparkle is, of course, a genius. Her insatiable love for books has made her a walking encyclopedia of all things magic. But you can't become truly great in academia just by reading books; Albert Einstein didn't invent the special theory of relativity by reading about it in high school. Well, Twilight has aspirations of true greatness. Her world is full of mysteries that she won't find the answers to in her library, and she's determined to be the one to solve them. And all the while, a villain wielding a brand of deadly, unknown magic is threatening both her friends and the whole of Equestria. What's a unicorn to do?

Being a genius isn't quite enough. Luckily, Twilight is also a scientist.

This is an old story that takes place in the canon circa season two. It involves a slight re-imagining of Twilight to make her more of a scientist than a science fangirl. This doesn't mean she's no longer a cute nerd; if anything, she's more adorkable than ever.

BonBon and Lyra always have considered each other the best friends that they would ever have. However, when Lyra starts dating somepony else, this brings up feelings BonBon didn't know she had for Lyra.

After 6 months, BonBon's feelings have only grown, and knowing Lyra didn't feel the same way broke her heart. To help with these feelings and that sadness that they brought with them, BonBon sees a therapist, which is where the story starts off.

Rainbow dash gets the surprise of her life when she finds out Gilda and Pinkie pie are engaged, but even more surprising is how excited everypony else is for the upcoming ceremony. Can Rainbow dash learn to cope with her jealousy and be the best mare her friend deserves? Can Gilda deal with all these crazy ponies without snapping? Can Spike find anyone to date him? Rainbow Dash is a headstrong, athletic pony who is utterly faithful to her friends and doesn't keep any secrets from them. Or so she pretends. Yet a surprise visit from Twilight Sparkle is about to blow the secret wide open, and the multi-hued pegasus will find out just how strong their friendship is.

Note: This story was written in the week following the airing of "May The Best Pet Win", and well before "Read It and Weep" was even known about. As such it haws since been overtaken by canon, but most folk tend to like it still so I will upload it here so I have a bit of a presence on FIMfiction beyond "lurker #347,921".

This story also includes "The Unrelated Epilogue" which is a mini-story based on a loose bit in the main one that I felt did not stand on its own, but that I wanted up nonetheless. It has Luna, but not RD or TS.

A diplomatic crisis arises between Equestria and the small, poor kingdom of Tarandroland, ancestral home of the reindeer. Celestia and Luna agree that it is time Luna takes a more active hand in foreign relations again, and Luna brings Twilight with her as someone she actually trusts and can talk to. When everypony's family member comes in for Family Appreciation Day at school, Scootaloo builds up jealousy towards her friends. Not knowing where she came from, who her parents are or if she has any siblings, the Cutie Mark Crusaders head out across Equestria in a search to find where Scootaloo belongs.

Trixie returns to Ponyville seeking to put things right between herself and the townsfolk. But when Twilight receives a letter from the Princess, Trixie gets the chance to live up to her previous boasting. Can she do it alone, or will she need the help of a certain purple unicorn?
