My name is James Clark, and I am a Private Military Contractor. No, not Mercenary. Yes, there is a difference, but that's beside the point.

Ok, where was I? Ah yes, I was just entering my office in Downtown Houston one afternoon to hear a job offer. When I got there, I found a beautiful, robe-wearing woman waiting for me. Now, in this day and age, most people would find that strange. I didn't for two reasons.

1) In this line of work, you run into a few crazies. If I had a dollar for every nut-job I turned away, I could buy a small European country.

2) It was Halloween. Hell, I was on my way to a party dressed in a replica suit of Veteran Ranger Armor from Fallout: New Vegas, complete with gas mask and real riot gear I borrowed from a friend on the SWAT team. I was gonna win the costume contest for sure!

I'm getting off topic, aren't I? Anyways, this weirdo offered me a job without going into much detail. No location, no objective, not even a dollar amount The only thing I got out of her was the promise that I would be saving thousands, if not millions of lives.

Every instinct told me to turn the job down, and yet I still accepted it. Maybe the idea of playing hero again had its appeal.

God, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

The year is 2025. The worlds pursuit of fighting wars with unmanned "droids" has become its downfall. For Iran captured a nuke-bearing drone and used it against Israel. SSG Ackerman is a tank mechanic who is attached to the U.S. Army's most elite unit- 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, or Delta Force.
Before the war, SSG Ackerman was an avid brony. He even kept a unit patch of the cutie mark of his idol, Rainbow Dash. After sacrificing himself to bring the war closer to an end, he finds himself in Equestria, turned pony.
Will he ever be able to come to terms with the atrocities he has committed? Will he be able to keep the show a secret from everypony? Is he really in Equestria? Or is it all a simulation brought about by the droids as a way of extracting information from him?

This is my first fic, so please feel free to give me as much constructive criticism as possible. This fic switches between first and third person, and uses ALOT of military terms. Ye have been warned...

Life pretty much sucked. I had little to no friends, failing pretty much all classes in school. My parents abuse me and to make it worse they are my only family. That means I'm kinda stuck with them. The only good things in my life are my Video Games and my remaining dignity. After being humiliated in front of the entire school one day. I decided to end my life and make the pain stop. Right as I am about to end it all. There is a knock on the door and I go to see who it is. No one was there and strange scroll laid on the door mat. I unfurl it to read "It is time to come home, brother".

After being rudely awoken from Cryo-sleep, John-117 finds that the Forward Unto Dawn has been sucked into a gravity well, causing it to fall towards an unknown planet. In the crash, he is separated from Cortana and falls alone into the Everfree forest. In addition to this new complication, old memories from a scarred and tragic past haunt his dreams, putting his remaining sanity on edge.

However, he has little time to ponder these thoughts, as he encounters the planet's... peculiar... inhabitants.

The story is a dead space crossover about a soldier working for Earth Defense Force.
How will the natives respond to him and how will the battle hardened soldier respond to them.
The soldier's past is filled with regret which will it affect his future here in the magical land of Equestria.

Despite the fact that nopony ever really likes to acknowledge it, there's always been a sort of caste system in Equestria. After all, it was unavoidable--the Pegasi could soar beautifully through the air, the Unicorns were great magicians, and the Alicorns were all that with a little icing on the top. So what abilities did the Earth Ponies have? Horse apples. Enter Applejack, Earth Pony, Element of Honesty. Good farmer but not good for much else. But Applejack has a secret: she can feel It. She can feel It babbling through the streams and lacing the songs of birds. Whatever It is, though, It doesn't seem to be very good news for Equestria. And after a strange rift in the mane six's friendship develops, Applejack is determined to expose Its evil once and for all, even if it means taking drastic measures to do so... Dark fic, but not grimdark.

The name Smith is a military reference that it could be anyone they're is over a million people with the last name Smith.
