This story is a sequel to City of Monsters

When a frantic Night Guard seeks help in finding his long-lost wife and daughter in the middle of the Everfree Forest, he finds only Fluttershy able to guide him on his dangerous quest. But as they search, they find far more than they expected, and in the end, he may be forced to accept the painful reality that the daughter he seeks may not want to return with him.

The only thing in the Everfree Forest more frightening than a father trying to find his lost daughter, is a mother who does not want to let go.

Set in Dashverse. Applejack is taking Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie out to Appleloosa to help with the Apple Family Reunion and so she can compete in the Appleloosa Rodeo! Amid the celebrations of the Reunion, the rodeo and the one year anniversary of the peace agreement with the buffalo, Applejack finds that her favorite cousin, Braeburn, has been involved in making changes--including bucking tradition instead of apples.

How she attempts to deal with this, and her friendly-rivalry with Rainbow Dash, will push Applejack to her limits.

"I'm going to be famous!", "I'm going to be the next big thing!", "I'm going to be a superstar!" Octavia couldn't even count how many times she'd heard her roommate claim that she was headed for fame and fortune.

But the worst part is, Vinyl might not be wrong. At least, not entirely.

This fic is inspired by the Dream Theater album Octavarium, which is awesome, and you should go listen to it. It is not, however, required to understand the story.

And for the record, this is not a Vinyltavia shipfic.
