The story centers around a young colt named Blitz who initially struggles to make friends after moving to Clouds dale. However, he eventually forms a strong bond with a young filly named Rainbow Dash, and their friendship deepens over the years, evolving into a sibling-like connection. As time goes on, Blitz develops strong romantic feelings for Rainbow Dash.

However, a heartbreaking event occurs when Blitz witnesses something that shatters his heart, prompting him to leave Cloudsdale. Three years later, he decides to return to the place where his story with Rainbow Dash began. The narrative seems to explore themes of friendship, love, heartbreak, and the passage of time. The story likely delves into Blitz's emotional journey, his experiences in dealing with complex emotions, and the potential for reconciliation or closure upon his return to Ponyville.

For many, many moons an unknown spirit has wandered the Everyfree forest, protecting those that call it home and forever watching those who don't.

Ponies wonder why the forest feels so alive. They wonder what makes a wild manticore stop halfway from preying on an innocent young mare. As you pull it out of the box, you see that there's a design of a pony-- a mare-- printed on either side. She's blue-"furred", with a lilac mane and tail, falling down her back in waves. She stared up at the ceiling with blue-iris eyes. Then you realize it. An image of a mare-- sewn into a pillow-- one as tall as you are. Of course. This is a dakimakura. And a darn well-made one at that; the pony printed on its faces is amazingly lifelike.

Then it speaks.

Anon finds a hole in the wall of his apartment. When he looks through, he finds a bone-white changeling sleeping in the next room. Instead of calling the guards, he decides to strike up a conversation.
