There is a man sitting on a park bench, perusing a weathered book in his red right hand. He smiles at you, inviting you to share a tale. Share a laugh, recall your fears; regardless, he will listen.

This story is a sequel to The Conversion Bureau: Worlds Where It Wouldn’t Work

The Multiverse is a large place, and there are infinitely many versions of Celestia who, for one reason or another, thought it would be a good idea to turn humanity into ponies.

But as the old saying goes, "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong."

The quasi-official sequel to the comedy fanfic by Sora2455 is here!

This story is a sequel to Snowbound

It's a bad old time to be human. About half the world is gone thanks to Celestia's Barrier, the only options are 'fight and die' or 'get turned into newfoals,' and everything's falling apart. The greatest menace to America as they wait for the Barrier to touch down is not, paradoxically, PER, but restless Human Liberation Front terrorists that dream of taking control of the fight from the brave PHL. One of the worst HLF men is Viktor Marius Kraber, a traumatized Afrikaner, former father, and former surgeon with an appetite for destruction and big guns. But one day, wracked by guilt at an HLF checkpoint, he lets a lost filly and her mother live. From that point on, his life goes to hell (more than usual, anyway) as he tries to make his way and cast aside hatreds in a world gone mad, and maybe, just maybe, become a good person.
Forced to deal with irritating hallucinations, self-hatred, enemies on all sides, and developing a conscience in a world gone mad, will he manage to survive in this world? Will he ever become a good person? Will he join the PHL and befriend the freakishly huge earth pony stallion named Aegis seen in the cover image, and shoot Queen Celestia's spine out?! Can he? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CAN HE?!

Of course he can! It's a fokkin' prequel.

(Well, actually, considering the emphasis on the development of a character from before the beginning of a game and the fact that it takes place between stories, it's actually more of a presequel. Or presidequel?)

Part of the Conversion Bureau: The Other Side Of The Spectrum continuity.

[First Person] [Alternating Perspectives] [Equisverse Era 1]

In the year 2199, artificial intelligence has advanced to the point where it is no longer practical to have human pilots. This puts Lyra Heartstrings into a forced retirement. Or rather, it puts Lyra from Earth number 7 into retirement. A Lyra born in the extremely distant past before Equestria as human. Lyra 7, an anomaly of the multiverse.

This Lyra is given the chance to pursue the life of adventure she always wanted when her ‘forced retirement moping’ is interrupted by the arrival of an experimental piece of technoarcana capable of opening portals into other dimensions. Unfortunately for Lyra 7, it’s broken, and her tinkering can’t totally fix it. Unable to set her own destination, or fully charge the device and thus unable make more than one portal per charge. Lyra can only wander from universe to random universe in search of the pony (and the proper version of that pony) who made the Vortex Manipulator in order to find her way back home.

For my fan’s convenience: This story takes place in multiple incarnations of the Equisverse. Keeping track of what is and is not cannon to it is futile. All of my stories are canon to this, as this story happens ‘episodically’ in multiple Equestrias. It’s a dimension hopping story. However, this is being done in the more serious tone of Beta, the more “serious” timeline.

A millennium ago, give or take, Princesses Celestia and Luna were nearly defeated by the most powerful villain that they had ever faced, Grogar, the dreaded lord of Tambelon. Thanks only to the whims of random chance, the two princesses survived that encounter, but have been forced to live in fear of the time of his inevitable return. That time is now...

...But whatever revival was intended has gone a little... wrong. Behind the wheels of Grogar's body is the spirit of a slightly extremely eccentric human. Equestria would have been lucky to survive the real Grogar, but will the ponies fare any better with this loon ruling Tambelon?

So, I accepted an invitation from a first cousin, once removed. It seemed like a sweet deal at the time, I mean, there were these conventions I wanted to go and he so graciously offered me a place to stay! Alright, so I had to share a room with my brothers, but I had the first convention all for myself! Plenty of cash to spend, and my costume was really easy to make!

Naturally, I spent all of the money that didn't go into my costume on everything that caught my fancy.

I should have left that table alone.

Now? Now... I am not as mad at Celestia as I could have been, as I should have been, all things considered. I can't help but let it be smoke in the wind.

It's in my nature.

And she... she knew there was a chance it would happen.

I'm so sorry, Wind Whistler. It was my fault.

"Those of us who have a general overview and knowledge of King Sombra regard him to be a despotic autocrat, a power-hungry potentate and a vicious oppressor. And, even if this condemnation is justified, we may perhaps not have the right reason for this attribution. This is due to the fact that before King Sombra turned to the tyrant we all know him to be, he was the greatest knight of the Crystal Empire."

A clerical error in the Registry of Mortals sends an unwitting human to a strange land. It wouldn't be so bad, if the ponies there weren't out for his blood.

Literally.

A little twist on the myth that unicorns were hunted for their fantastical powers.

David Tennant, once the tenth Doctor, retired. Or so, he was supposed. He was asked to come to a con dressed as Ten which he did. Nothing compared to his surprise at a perfect replica of the TARDIS. He asked the man how much it was. A measly amount for a beautiful recreation. He opens the door steps inside, and its black.
The last thing he remembers is the Merchant grinning at him and looking at a screen.

"ALLONSY!"

Cancelled, for now.
