//------------------------------// // Chapter 6 // Story: The Doctor Displaced // by Kaffeina //------------------------------// -The TARDIS- David fiddled with the levers on the console, pulling up random locations. “No, that won’t do...Not that either…” And this went on for several minutes before David finally gave up and sat in the seat nearby.         “I seem to have lost interest in many parts of this universe,” he muttered, looking at the console as, shocking, a portal appeared and dropped something into the telepathic neurotransmitter. You know the one.         “That can’t be good,” David said, only for the hum and groan of the TARDIS to start up as she dematerialized from Golden Oaks and went flying into the Void. -Golden Oaks-         It was the morning after Leo obtained her digivice from Crux and she was in a good mood. Sure, she was going to have to find the digieggs that scattered around the planet but that wasn't much of a problem, more of an excuse to go explore!, but getting ready to go out the door and figuring out where to go first were. She said something she shouldn’t have. “Nothing could possibly go wrong!” she exclaimed as she stepped out the door. then a note fell in her face.                 “DUCK!”                         From: Crux         Then Leo heard a familiar noise from a show she had once watched, and with eyes open in shock she hit the dirt! Seconds later, a large blue box flew out of a hole in reality and spun a couple of times before dropping on the ground, and a man quickly ran out, coughing.         “Extractor Fans On!” he yelled, the smoke from the blue box quickly disappearing back inside. “That is the last time I go with the flow when Displaced are involved,” he said, taking a deep breath.         Leo’s eye twitched as she got off the ground and turned to the Doctor. “Hey watch where you fly her! you almost hit me!” screamed Leo, getting ready to hit him with a fireball.         “Oh yes, because I can control what tokens do once they enter the Void, actually… They should get someone on that,” he muttered, before turning to Leo. “Hullo, I’m the Doctor.”         “I know... “ she said dispelling the fireball. “My name is Leo, and just in case you don’t know I think Crux has something to do with this,” she said.         David raised an eyebrow, “You’ve got one of those to deal with too?”         “If you mean overly friendly displacer, then yes. and he gave me a general rundown about how I’m a displaced, what he was and a few other things but I wasn’t fully paying attention…” she replied with a shrug. “Void Dweller, actually, though I suppose it’s the same thing,” David said.         “Meh, so do you know what I am?” Leo said as she walked towards the Everfree.         “Digimon, Gen 1, right?” He turned around, “One sec,” he ran inside the TARDIS for a moment before returning with her Token, “This yours?” It was covered in a goo-like substance.         “Yes and no. I'm a mutant digimon, first of my kind and where did that goo come from?” was all Leo said before a portal opened and Crux fell out.         “Ouch! Darn it I slipped while making a sandwich… oh hi! Sorry about where Leo’s token ended up Doctor I dropped it when making my sandwich and it landed in the jelly before the portal for it opened… Hehehe…” was all he said.         David glared, “You know how much trouble it’s going to be getting the jelly out of the neurotransmitter?”         “Yeah, and don’t be a bitch,” came a woman’s voice from above David where Essence was floating and playing solitaire. She frowned, “Why does this game always do this…”         “Hello madam, nice to meet you, and Doctor I can’t help coincidence. Well I’ll be off!” he said before disappearing in a mini explosion.         “YOU CALL THAT SHOWING OFF?” Essence yelled, floating away from David, “Watch this.”         “Sorry mam but no using your powers on one of my worlds” came Crux’s voice as Essence was teleported to the ground. “Can’t have something Too powerful spawn as a side effect!” was the last thing Crux said before his presence disappeared.         Essence started mouthing numbers and holding up the numbers of fingers, upon hitting one, Crux exploded into the universe, his eyes spinning. “Do you even know who I am? Trying to mess with my reality/powers like that…”         “Actually I made this dimension from scratch!” Crux shouted before retorting “and whenever strong power appears it throws off the balance! you know how hard it is to keep the balance with all these displaced flying around nowadays!?” throwing his arms in the air.         “I asked if you knew who I was, not for you to throw a tantrum. Besides, I don’t affect anything unless I choose to,” Essence said.         Crux was about to say something when he took a deep breath and calmed himself down. “Sorry but I’ve never met you before. I’m not from this plane of existence, and how did you take over my code?” Crux stated in an inquisitive tone.         “Oh good, you’ve learned to respect your elders. Ever been in the Void?” Essence asked.         “Not really, never had reason to.” Crux replied before pulling a grandfather clock out of his sleeve and checking the time. “Well I have to go maybe we can talk later ta  ta!” and he this time disappeared into a puff of plaid confetti.         “Rude much, I didn’t even tell him my name. Maybe he would've acted different.”         “Please forgive him, he is a forgetful idiot but to my knowledge he always puts others before himself.” Leo said to Essence.         “Whatever, tell him my name when you next see him, he’s bound to remember it, all things considered,” Essence reached a hand out to Leo, “It’s Essence.”         “Leo, and I’ll make sure to tell him.” Leo said shaking Essences hand and smiling.         Essence drew back her hand, “I’m also Madness. THAT he should remember no matter what.” And she unraveled herself from reality by her tail, spinning her tail as her body spiraled away, leaving her hand which vanished.         “So, what should we do Doctor?” Leo asked turning back to him. “If you’re not busy with anything could you help me clean up a quick mess?”         David looked inside the TARDIS, flashes of electricity arcing through the room, “Yeah. I’ve got time.”         Leo pulled out her digivice and activated the locater. “Alright time to find those eggs before something not so friendly does…” she said walking towards the everfree.         David shrugged before following behind her. -in a dark cave on the other side of Equestria-         Quetsicotle was plotting his next scheme when four digieggs fell from the sky hitting him in the head. “What the!?” he exclaimed looking at the objects that just hit him in the head. ‘What the heck are these!?’ he thought as he picked up the eggs. out of curiosity he decided to rub them, as he rubbed the digieggs they began to glow and then hatched. as he stared at the strange creatures that were now in his hand an evil plot began to form in his mind. ‘I don't know what these are but i might just have a use for them…’ he thought with an evil laugh. -Somewhere in the Everfree forest...-         “So, how much do you know about digimon?” Leo asked as they arrived next to a river before looking around and spotting the egg that the digivice located on a pile of rocks in the middle of the water.         “Not much,” David shrugged.         “Well, would you like a rundown on the basics?” Leo asked while trying to find a long piece of vine to anchor herself to a tree so the current doesn’t sweep her away as she got the egg.         David nodded, “Sure, but can you pass me your little device there, I have an idea.”         Leo smirks, “I can do you one better, here!” Leo takes out her digivice and materializes out another from a beam of light emitted from it. Leo then tossed the new digivice at David. “and this should be able to replace the one that got covered in jelly.” she said.         David nodded, before opening the device and moving the wires and other bits inside of the device before closing it up and pointing it at the digiegg, causing it to lift up and fly into his hand. He tossed the digiegg to Leo, “There you are.”         Leo whistled, “Dang didn't know you could do that! I mean the digivices can evolve but I didn’t know you could customize them!” she said before analyzing the egg. “Hm, seems to be a machine type, glad we found it before it hatched.” she said before scanning it into her digivice.         “Bit of a Time Lord upgrade,” David said.         Leo then got an idea, “Hey doctor, how about I give you a gift, should prove useful in the future.” she said before taking out her digivice and re-materializing the machine egg. “Catch” she said tossing the egg to him. “Try rubbing it.” she said folding her arms while smirking.         ‘Alright,” he rubbed the egg a bit. As he did so the egg it began to glow, a few moments later the egg burst open and in his hands was a newly hatched Solarmon.         “Huh a solarmon… quite fitting actually…” Leo said as she walked over and linked David’s digivice with his new partner. The digivice then began to glow and transformed into a Data Link Digivice. “Oh and on a side note you don't have to worry about him dying, he will just turn back into an egg!” Leo stated, admiring the irony of a timelord becoming a digidestined. “He turns into a clock, doesn’t he?” David asked, immediately realizing what her look meant.         “How'd you guess?” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.         “Magic?” David shrugged, the Solarmon floated up next to David’s head.         “Don't even try the magic excuse on me, my body is made up of 75% magic!” Leo deadpanned before locating another egg with her digivice.         “I’m a Time Lord,” David said, “Human turned Time Lord at that. Though, I suppose, the real David Tennant becoming the Doctor isn’t too far-fetched, is it?”         “Not realy. I mean, I’m a human that has been turned into a digimon and had a gender assigned to it that is the opposite of what it was when I was human…” she said with a look on her face saying that she was resigned to her fate.         “I’ve heard of gender swaps happening in Displaced. Seems pretty common,” David said.         “In truth the only problem I'm having with it are the fact that digimon aren't supposed to have genders, and the impending ‘monthlies’...” she said while shuddering.         “Why? Can’t Crux do something about that?” David asked.         “Its his fault in the first place…” she deadpanned.         David raised an eyebrow, “Purposeful?”         “From what I can tell, most likely.” she said while making a pouty face. David reached his hand down, patting her on the head gently.         Leo’s face turned bright pink, a mixture of horror and embarrassment at what was happening. Quickly stepping away she composed herself and turned to the time lord. “Ok, Back to work…” she said while heading for the castle of the royal pony sisters.         David shrugged, “Onwards then.” -The Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters-         “Ok, Doctor you check the Basement and I’ll check what remains of the towers and upstairs” Leo said before entering the remains of the castle.         “Allons-y!” David said before heading towards the stairs.         David opened the large wooden door leading into the basement, only to walk into a Weeping Angel, “That’s lovely…” He started to back up, seeing several more across the room. He blinked and flinched backwards, “LEO! WE’VE GOT A PROBLEM!” -A Few Moments Later-         “So do you remember how to deal with these fellas?” Leo asked staring at the stone angels, after all the only outcome a digimon would get from being touched by one could only be guessed and she didn't plan on being a guinea pig.         “Yes, for now, don’t blink but don’t stare at them for too long, we’ll take turns,” David said, “Make your way out the door, we need to get to the TARDIS.”         “Just go get her! Digimon don't need to blink, and our eyes aren't reflective so one isn't going to spawn in my head!” she shouted to the doctor and hoping he could get the TARDIS before the sunlight in the room disappeared.         “You got it,” David said, sliding out the door and making a run for it, diving inside as the door closed, “If I can figure out where they came from, I should be able to poison the well and get rid of them. But I’ll need a paradox.”         “Someone say paradox?” came a voice from behind David.         “Yes,” David said, not even bothering to turn around, “What’ve got Crux?”         “Yeah, what’ve you got?” Another voice said.         “Well… I have a pocket sized paradox I always keep with me in case of emergencies.” he said while pulling out a ring with a rip in spacetime floating in the center. He then turned to the third person in the room. “So you came back here why?” he asked innocently.         “I tend to drift wherever,” Essence shrugged.         “Okay… well here ya go Doc that should help you out of your predicament and any future ones you might stick yourself in.” Crux said tossing the pocket paradox to the Doctor before disappearing into a crack in space time.         “Well, that’ll do,” David said, activating the console, and the TARDIS materialized around Leo.         “I see you finally arrived. so what's the plan?” Leo asked when she took notice that the TARDIS had materialized around her. “Although materializing the TARDIS around me probably wasn't a good idea...” she said, and a few moments later the TARDIS began to rock tossing Leo and David back and forth.         “I had just adjusted it for magic,” David sighed, “Let me work on this again…” David began messing with the console and the TARDIS stopped rocking.         “What now?” Leo asked delirious from being thrown across the room multiple times.         “Now, we cause a paradox,” David said.         “Well, this is going to be interesting…” Leo said trying to regain her balance on one of the nearby rails.         David grinned, “Allons-y!” The TARDIS dematerialized.
