Captain Flash Magnus of the Royal Guard is very happy to see his decedent marrying the girl of his dreams, but he cannot wish that he was in his place. Long ago, Flash Magnus had fallen in love with Somnambula, but discovered she loved another and kept his feelings a secret. With the wedding almost here, Magnus wonders if there is a second chance for them and soon finds out his answer upon meeing Somnambula the evening before the wedding.

Twilight Sparkle is now the sole ruler of the throne of Equestria. With the exchange of power though also comes a change of the guard and those that loyally served the Solar and Lunar princesses. While much of the palace staff chose to stay on to assist the new ruler some positions required change following retirements and resignations. One such opening was the Captain of the Royal Guard. There were many qualified candidates available, but with so much uncertainty only one Twilight truly trusted above all others to get the job done better than the rest. Tempest Shadow.

After some talking and convincing, Tempest accepts the position, but that does not mean the guard and the rest of Canterlot is ready to accept her.

Takes place timeline wise following Season 9 and includes my own tweaks and changes that occurred in Incarnate months earlier.

Thirty years ago, the most advanced artifical intelligence the world has ever known was deactivated, disassembled, and left to gather dust in a warehouse.

What remains finds its way into Twilight Sparkle's garage, where she feverishly works to rebuild it.

I wanted to keep the teen rating on this, mostly because while there won't be any explicit content, it WILL deal with some heavy emotional trauma, and I don't think that hiding that behind a "mature" tag will do anyone a service.

The Friendship Games, once a way to bring the two schools together, devolved into a cutthroat competition for glory. A competition Principal Abacus Cinch sought to win, even if it meant blackmailing her top student.

Seeking to distract herself from her loneliness, Sparkle sought to study the magic of Canterlot High School. Her experiments, however, wreaked havoc on the games, and brought her the scorn of Sunset Shimmer, who saw the human Twilight as a dangerous nuisance.

In a last-ditch effort at victory, Cinch and the Shadowbolts pushed Twilight into unleashing the magical energies she had collected.

But in their attempt to abuse a force they did not understand, the Shadowbolts unwittingly caused tragedy. But through this tragedy, will the Shadowbolts and others come to understand the value of a single human being? And will Sunset overcome her grief and try to prevent another one?

Takes place while Thorax is living in the Crystal Empire.
