Holy bananas you guys! March is almost over....
So, A Lunar Sunset.
Good news is that it is not dead. I am actively working on it! (Like, I am taking a break right now from having spent the last couple of hours writing)
Bad news is that the update schedule is going to remain somewhat sporadic until my life gets a little more in order.
Hello to all of my fans! (I can't believe that I have those...)
So, filling everyone in on what has been happening with ALS in the past little while.
I was laid off from my job just before Christmas, that triggered a pretty bad depressive spiral for me. Between my waning finances and my lack of STEADY work I had to prioritize getting healthy.
Hello again all!
Sorry for the long wait - I have been out of work for a few weeks (since before christmas)
And I will be moving - YET AGAIN - in like a week and a half - so there is that.
I'm chewing through the next chapter, its a little more involved because of the context, but I'm getting there. I PROMISE!
The next chapter for ALS is in the works.
Due to some pacing concerns for the long-term in the story I have decided to move this portion of the plot up in my timeframe. It has been in the plans for a while, but I think that in order to avoid writing myself into a corner later on and then trying to figure a way out of it - it is time to address this particular issue and then build up from there.
Well, it happened finally. I had to use the "Block This User" button.
I hated to do it really, but when someone refuses to concede the point of "this is my story, and I am the one writing it" and then only becomes belegerant about things - not gonna fly.
I tried to politely let them know that if my story wasn't to their liking, they could go find something more to their liking.
Then I firmly said that they should find the door.
And finally they had to go.
Tonight I put the final touches on the next chapter of ALS. It finishes out the cliff-hanger from the last chapter, and expands things just a bit more.
I am laying the groundwork for the Celestia confrontation that will need to happen sooner or later, but for now I want to really focus on Sunset and Luna before thowing the big family mess into the works.
Hello all!
I do apologize for the hiatus on ALS! Life is about as hectic as it comes in my world.
A little bit of self-disclosure here -
I am so sorry that I didn't post a new chapter on Friday.
Life has happened quite a bit this week, and it just didn't get done. I am writing the next chapter right now, and my hope is to be able to put it out today or tomorrow.
I also want to let you know that I will likely be late on the next chapter as well. This week is MAJORLY busy, and I am going out to see a concert this coming Friday.
After that, we should be back to weekly releases without an issue!
I wanted to follow up from the chapter that I posted tonight, because it is a HEAVY bit of emotion.
First and foremost, I want to say that it was fucking TOUGH to write it. I spent more time in the editing process throughout this chapter than I have anywhere else.
My normal process is something to the effect of:
This time though.... it went a different direction:
So, when writing ALS, I generally don't have a "plot" built. I let the story go where it will from week to week.
I know some of the important details that I want to get to, but the road may take a roundabout path to get there. With ALS, I wanted to build a relationship between two people who are both broken in different ways.
So, the last chapter got a little heavy there at the end, right?
Ifigure that in order to create a more believeable bond between Sunset and Luna, that there must be common ground. Not to mention that a little bit of depth to our ladies never hurts.
Guys! Look at this wonderful cover art!!!
Iwill get it all uploaded when I get home tonight. Right now I am stuck on my phone at work, so anything more substantial is a bit of a stretch. Let's face it, writing on a bluetooth keyboard while in between making orders in a kitchen does not make for consistent writing.
My first two chapters are less than 24 hours old, and have gotten over 100 views. This is amazing to me, only because I was mostly writing this for myself and my own headcannon. The fact that the response has been positive is amazing to me. All of the follows, likes, etc. Loving it.
